Morning All,
I managed a good night's sleep last night but am waking about 5.30am now! I think my feeling a bit rough the past 2 evenings is due to hay fever effects and being out in too much sun (with hat on though) so am making sure l take the tablets every day now.
I used diluted bleach to wipe down groceries last time as I read that it kills viruses in 15 to 30 seconds and is more available than other things. OH carries the bags in with gloves on and puts them on the kitchen floor. I wear rubber gloves and wipe things down on the draining board. Afterwards I wipe the draining board then put my rubber gloves and wiping cloth in the bowl of bleach for a couple of minutes, then rinse them out and wash my hands with soap. With his gloves on OH transfers all the empty plastic bags to a cardboard box in the porch cupboard where they are left for 5 days and then used as kitchen bin liners. I am only using my anti bac on the outside bin handles and lid and doorbell, as our Asda didn't have any the last 2 times I ordered.
I did another of the free zoom meetings yesterday. It was on basic camera manual adjustments and for 2 hours and was really good and unravelled some of the complication for me! The chap is doing another next week about more features so I shall try to watch it.
Must get going now and will catch up with some of the posts later when I' m on the laptop which is easier.

Lol I see you had hicups Annx.
good morning all a lovely day here. We are all meeting outside with a cup of tea at 3pm, just for a friendly chat, nothing elaborate.
I couldn't get to sleep last night but slept ok when I did eventually. Just bee sorting a few T shirts out while leaving sweaters available. I wish the weather would make its mind up.
Liked the dish Mel, especially when painted and guilded, very effective.
Hope Vera and Frank slept ok last night and hope the toothache is easing Vera.

Good morning Vera, Mel, and all.
I did manage to get a few hours sleep. I think it was 7.00 when I got up.Two COT showered and dressed.
Watching the BBC programme celebrating VE DAY. I have been in tears a few times already. Ros can't understand (Just finished the two minute silence.) why I am so emotional and sentimental. But having been bought up close to the EAST END and the DOCKS, with all the bombing. It is something I am very proud of, and have no trouble showing my love for this GREAT COUNTRY. It would be lovely to think I might live for the CENTENARY. lol lol. JUST HOPING. !!!!
A lot of cloud around this morning, but they say the sun will come through later. Martin has just rung, to see that we are alright, and was there anything she could get for us.
We were out there clapping last night, answer a lot in the close. Even Tony came out. That is a FIRST.
Trying to think where we have put the UNION JACK. As I would love to have that draped round my shoulders this evening at the SINGALONG.
Off to get a coffee, and yet another read of my book. I think it's warm enough to sit on the patio. I will take a light jumper out with me, in case I need it.
Have a safe day my dear friends. xxxx

Afternoon all,
Little bit of cloud about but still plenty of sun which soon helped to dry all the bedding ,it's now been ironed and is ready to go away . We had The Red Arrows go over this morning luckily we were out side and heard them coming ,they went over in two lots and were quite low too.
Mel i love the little dragon dish with the big eyes it's a lovely colour and the gilding finishes it off nicely .
AnnG that was some street party ,what an assortment of chairs :-D enjoy your cuppa with the neighbours this afternoon .
Vera hope the toothache has eased .
Oh Ann good job i read your post i haven't taken my hay fever tablet today i'll go and do that now .

How nice to have seen the Red Arrows this morning Mandy. They are so impressive! I see you have been weeding and Colin lumberjacking getting a root out! I keep having to rest up after a session in the garden and could hardly straighten up after making another step with rocks yesterday! Luckily if I stop in time I soon recover and OH is much the same with his back.
AnnG I think I would be a bit worried about people touching things like cups and using the toilet to have them come round. I would be there following everyone at a social distance with my marigolds on and anti bac and cloth and put the dampers on things! :-D :-D
I planted the last of the Pansies in a pot today and OH brought me some soil to mix with the compost and it was full of ants!!! I must look in the shed later for some Nippon from last year.
OH noticed some marks on one of my my earlobes yesterday like something had nibbled it........it wasn't him!! :-) It doesn't look any worse so hopefully it will get better on it's own.
Your make was lovely Mel and the paint really enhanced it. Those bunnies heed to listen to the song 'Run rabbit, Run rabbit, run, run, run!!'
I have more papers to comment on today from the research place and must go now as I am meeting my beading friends on ZOOM.

Afternoon all
Lovely and sunny here, I hope it's nice for you to have your sing song later Frank.
Yes Mandy, OH has applied for two jobs and has another application form to fill in for another one. He went back to work yesterday and asked the boss if she'd heard anything regarding the jobs contacting her for a reference, she said she hadn't so he doesn't think he's got those jobs, lets hope the next one is more successful.
OH's boss doesn't want him to get another job, she wants him to wait a few weeks so he can carry on working where he is, but like he said he's got bills to pay so can't afford to be out of work for long and she never actually said she'd definitely take him back, so he's still job hunting. I hope she doesn't do a bad reference to put people off employing him, so she can have him back when she's ready. I think she just wants him on the bank so she has someone at short notice who will work, but bank work isn't regular work, he's done it before and you don't get paid if you're not needed. I guess he'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Love the dish you made Mel, did you use a mould to make them or do them by hand? Lovely colour.
That looked like a lovely party AnnG, I remember having a street party for the Queen's Silver Jubilee back in 1977, we had a fancy dress party and my mum made me an outfit in red, white and blue crepe paper, it was really good, I had a flare skirt a nice top and a bonnet. I think I wore the skirt and top over my own clothes in case it ripped, it didn't rip though and I loved it.
I hope your toothache isn't to bad today Vera, let's hope you can visit a dentist soon and have it sorted. My OH needs to see the dentist as he broke his tooth again, they said they weren't doing face to face appointments at the moment, so he has to wait until lockdown is over and things go back to normal. The problem is we don't know when that is going to happen. Let's hope it's not to far off for both my OH and you.
I hope you're feeling a little better now Ann, Hayfever is awful isn't it? Keep taking the tablets then hopefully you'll be alright. You're lucky you can get them, we don't have any around here, so I'm staying in doors when I hear people cutting their lawns. There's been a lot of people having their trees cut down to, so I don't go out as tree pollen is suppose to be really bad.
I'm doing really well on my family tree and have a few people helping me now. I've sorted out all the mistakes and now I'm looking for children for the correct couples. Having Ancestry opening their UK records for free has been a great help.

Have I now made that clear?
I have been up the border again this afternoon cutting out Brimbles and ash tree a foot and a half tall. I had some big docks out too but I have only cleared about a 2' by 3' bit of ground. I also cut back a lot of Brimbles from the west corner of my border as they were coming out over the lawn. Oh has mowed the west lawn and it looks so nice now.
We have drain trouble so he's been rodding that as the soak away was'nt working properly.

Annx not sure what you mean about people touching cups etc. We all had our chairs outside our own houses, some on their drives and some on the pavement, all well away from each other, some also walking around to chat but standing at least six foot away. We took our own cups of tea out and our neighbour made little cakes and had them on a table six foot away from her. People went singly to collect a cake, everyone was really careful. It was great fun, we had a laugh, only two cars came into the road while we were out there for one and a half hours. Some of them had alcohol, we chose to wait until we came back in.
Sorry Mel as there was no scale in the first photos it did look like a bowl or dish.
Gill hope OH can get sorted soon.

Good evening all
I eventually slept from about 5 am to 8 am but have felt very lethargic all day. Everything has seemed a bit of an effort but I made a cake and did a couple of jobs. My tooth is much the same, not much better but no worse. In fact I am not even sure it is the tooth. I’m now wondering if it might be a gum or jaw problem. I can manage at the moment so I won’t ring the dentist yet.
Oops Mel, I thought your pendant was a dish as well. Sorry. Now you have the coin there to show the size it’s obvious that it’s a pendant. You are so clever, I wouldn’t know where to start with something like that. I love the colour as well.
I hope your OH gets some work sorted soon Gill. His boss can’t give him four weeks notice and then expect him not to look for another job - what does she think he is going to live on, plates of fresh air?
I hope all you hay fever sufferers aren’t feeling too horrid. I’ve never been troubled with hay fever but my son was dreadful when he was young. The worst thing for him was oilseed rape. Thankfully he seems to have outgrown it.
I hope you enjoyed your Zoom meeting with your beading friends Ann. My daughter is organising a quiz on Zoom on Sunday so all being well we will join in this one. I’ve been assured that Zoom is easy to use so I should manage OK.
I do hope Jane is OK.
Lovely street party photo AnnG and don’t you make a lovely fairy.
I went for a walk this afternoon and it might just as well not be VE Day anniversary. I just saw a couple of houses with flags (and one with Santa’s sleigh and reindeer :-S). No-one seemed to be in their front gardens with cups of tea and I don’t know of any sing-songs going on.
Were the flags being flown upside down Dermot? That really annoys me when you see the Union Flag wrongly flown. I’ve even seen it upside down on official occasions. You’d think we could manage to fly our own national flag correctly wouldn’t you?
OH is watching something in the lounge so I’m watching the VE programme on the BBC in the conservatory and really enjoying it. I hope we all have a good night tonight. Be back tomorrow.

Sorry AnnG, when you said you were all meeting outside I thought you meant outside in your garden! If I had seen your photo I would have soon realised but I haven't received one. Everything is as normal in our close, no-one outside, no flags.
Oh Vera your poor mouth and little sleep again. One of my friends at today's meeting has had I think, her bridge and tooth break and she was surprised when she was told to ring 111 as the dentist couldn't see her. Yes, we had a nice chat together this afternoon. You will enjoy your quiz and soon get used to Zoom as did my friends who hadn't used it before today.
Oops.... better see what the Queen has to say now.

Vera I hope your mouth is a bit better tomorrow. Have you any mouthwash to use. I use Corsodyl if I have a sore tooth or gum and I find it very good. They now do a daily one too.
Good you had some chat with your beading friends Ann. It must be really weird not being able to meet up each week when you have been doing it for so long You must all miss one another.
Gill's getting on with her tree with the free Ancestry over the weekend I see. Don't stay on the pc too long you don't want to get another bad head.
Hope Frank has enjoyed his sing a long. Did he have to go far to it?
Thumbs hurt tonight, the one on my left hand. Must be all the digging up of small ash trees and Brimbles. There are so many up the border this year. My bearded iris are going a bomb this year and I still managed to knock one of the blooms off pulling up some ivy which seems to have got all over the border towards the big arch. The Brimbles in the corner have a lot of dead in them which I have been cutting out. I took 4 big barrow loads over to the bonfire outside the wall. I could'nt have got any more on the barrow without it falling off.
I think I shall go and shower now and have a relax.

Good morning
Another bright sunny day. It’s already quite hot out there.
I’ve been trying to get on the General Chat board since soon after 7 this morning, but every time I got the error message, yet I could get on to the site and the other boards with no problem.
I decided to do the midnight shift to book a Tesco slot for the end of the month. I’ve got one for 17th and knew that the slots for 29th would come online at midnight. I only had about 5 minutes wait before getting into the booking page at 12.01 :-). Would you believe there were no slots available :-(. How could they all go in one minute? I’m not faring any better with Waitrose or Asda so I have now registered with Iceland as well. You can’t seem to book far ahead with them but you seem to be able to get a slot within a couple of days so I might try them towards the end of the month AND, a big plus, they release their new slots at 11 am, a much more civilised hour than midnight.
I never thought that my main topic of conversation would be shopping lol.
OH has just made a cuppa so I am going to take it into the garden to drink. Enjoy the good weather while it lasts.

Good morning to you all. WHERE ARE YOU ????
Oh boy, did I do something wrong yesterday evening. I took something down the greenhouse, and tripped over the wooden logs that hold the gravel from the lawn. It felt like I had broken something. But thank goodness I hadn't. Due to that happening, I got myself showered and didn't move again until I went to bed. I had hells own job getting in and out of bed during the night to go to the bathroom. Ros very kindly got up to put the lights on, so I didn't stumble.
This morning MY FOOT felt like I had a CLUB FOOT. no feelings in it. Ros felt all around and said she couldn't feel anything out of place. The pain goes right up to my crutch on the right hand side. This morning,I've had it in a bowl of cold water, but hasn't improved on the discomfort.
Harvey and Lewis have been up this morning, with the grocer order. They are on their way to Coventry, to get a unit that bolts onto the framework of his work truck. Without it, all his tools, mowers and petrol strimmer's has to go in the cab, with him. Julie got in the cab yesterday and said "IT STINKS OF PETROL IN HERE" Which I expected it did.
Due to Sainsbury's not allowing him to do TWO ORDERS for different address's. He has offered to continue ordering our requirements, and bring them up to us. I said I would open my Tesco account again and do it myself. He has been so good helping us out, during this very difficult times.
Yesterday Carolyn rung and asked Ros to pop round, to have a distant CUP OF TEA in the garden and a chat. She also said that their HOME is listed as being VULNERABLE. And therefore entitled to a food parcel. She snd John made it quite clear that they were anything but Vulnerable, but the person INSISTED THEY HAVE THE FOOD PARCEL. She took a couple of tins of soup out and gave the rest to Ros. When I opened it., there was "READYBREK" Baked beans, Pasta shells, two bags of rice, Pasta sauce, tin tomatoes, McVitie's Digestive biscuit. various other odds and sods, so it will get used and save us a few £££££.
Not a lot of singing going on in the close last night. I watched "CAPTAIN TOMS WAR" then Monty Dom, what a garden he has there, more like an open forest, with lawns and beds. So beautiful to see, It would be interesting to know how many staff he has, to help run it.
Harvey tells us this morning that Garden Centres are being allowed to open next week. I bet their seedling plants will be almost FULL GROWN, being shut away all these weeks. Ros has had QVC on all morning. She keeps picking up the phone, and pressing lots on buttons. So everything she is ordering, is by remote.I suppose you can speak to a HUMAN BEING if you get stuck. lol lol
Book at the ready, so I amok for a read outside, away from all this chattering, coming from the TV. :-| :-| :-| :-| :-P :-P :-P :-\ :-\ :-\ ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3 <3
BE GOOD AND STAY SAFE. xxxx

Morning Vera and all,
Beautiful day here too today. Lovely blue sky with some white clouds.
I still don't know why you lot don't pay for a years shopping with Asda for a midweek slot and there would be no staying up till midnight trying to book a slot. I told you this in the begining. I think it was £35 and I have a slot every week if I don't mess it up.
I do hope your tooth is easier this morning Vera and is ot giving you so much pain.
Waiting to hear how Frank got on with the sing song last evening. I do hope he managed to get tere and enjoy it.
Sending love to Jane and hope she is feeling ok so can enjoy the bank holiday weekend. <3 <3

Morning All I a m ok but have some concerning symptoms.I am waiting for a scan now which could take a couple of weeks or so. H&G came yesterday which was good as we placed croquet and had my lovely homemade scones with clotted cream and jam so it all took my mind off things. They are coming around again at 12.30 and are cooking a BBQ. It is so nice to be able to have them here as we have so much space in the garden for social distancing. Croquet too is easy with distancing and good fun. I cut Chris’s hair again yesterday a good bit shorter this time.Hannah did Gareth’s too.
Hasn’t the weather been amazing. It was so hot yesterday we all kept having to stand in the shade after our shots at croquet.
Don’t worry if I am not Posting much at the moment.
I too kept getting the error message this morning Vera.I hope that tooth of yours gets no worse and settles down.
I need to get cracking .
