Morning All
That is good you both had a good nights sleep last night AnnG and Vera.I did too but still woke up feeling tired.
It is a beautiful day wall to wall blue, not a cloud in sight. Hannah is coming round shortly for a coffee in the garden.I hoow she doesnt want a biscuit as we have none.Must add to the Tesco list. I am now listed as a Priority but it will be interesting to see how easy it is to get a slot.
Mel ,I would have been so miffed with Chris too if he had left off things like the Bread and Milk But he doesnt do the ordering :-D. I just tell him to add to the written list what he wants and then I do all the ordering which reminds me I need to add some things now.

Here we are again, Good MORNING TO YOU ALL,

I have just sent, by email, the shopping list to Harvey. I've asked him for the shut off time/day incase I need to add to it.

Fine bright morning here again. I haven't been out, but I expect that breeze is chilly.

Ros is now passed the 300 "scrub bag" mark. Both Valerie and Margater recutting up some BIG DUVETs. It will be a lot easier for Ros, as we don't have much room on the table, what with her Machine, cutting board, and odds and sods. She's running out of cotton, so is popping up to Tesco to get some more. I have even ordered some on the shopping list.

Friday evening at 7.30 pm BUD and ESTELLE are having a VE DAY SINGALONG outside their house. Somewhere I have a song sheet of all the 2nd WW songs. If I can find it, I will copy a load, for anyone who might turn up without one. Lets hope the rain holds off.

S & K Pie wasn't up to scratch last night. Ros didn't roll the pastry thick enough, and forgot to egg wash it. Never mind it filled a hole. lol lol

Had a good night, last night. I only got out once, and had a smashing dream, I had developed the "PEFECT WORLD" where no-one died, there was no sickness , no wars. JUST PERFECT. One can wish, can't one. lol lol

I think I will get a coffee and my book and and sit on the patio in the sunshine.

I am going to make a serious effort, to try to find my GRANDSONS, Samuel, James and Joshua. Why my daughter stopped me seeing them as children, I will never know. It could have been down to her MOTHER and her husband. I do believe there are some GREAT GRANDCHILDREN OUT THERE AS WELL. Selfish little COW. !!!!

Morning all,

Had a lie in this morning. We too have wall to wall sunshine and blue sky. Makes a change from yesterday with that bitter win d which kept blowing things around on the decking.

Its so good that both Vera and Anng had a better nights sleep last night and Jane too.

I don't have a list of jobs to do so I better just get on with something. I am sure to find something that needs a good clean.

Those old seeds I sowed weeks ago hav'nt come up, well all but one spinach seed managed to get through and it now has two proper leaves so I shall nurture that one plants and give it all the love I can as its going in our sandwicjhes when its big enough. My lettuce are doing fine in their big pot but the wind kept blowing their cover off yesterday. Still no sign of the runner beans though but two old plants coming up in the big tub.

Oh has just taken the wood off the cementing we did the day before yesterday so it should be ok now. I just hope it works.

Annx Report 6 May 2020 15:40

Afternoon All,

Yes, lovely sunshine here too and dining in the patio restaurant for lunch, then the crossword and word wheel followed by some catching the warm sun with our chairs reclined. I could almost imagine we were on holiday! :-D

I had a rubbish night and was awake till after 3.00am so had a lie in. I planted up 2 more pots with Pansies and noticed the french beans are coming up now and more of the runners. I left the next door neighbour some tomato plant seedlings on his doorstep as we have loads now and he said he would like some. Mel none of my old seeds came up in the end! I also moved a self set bright pink geranium that was in the front garden to near the waterfall. There are some pinks I want to take cuttings from or split up too. I disinfected the bin lids and handles and have put bright red new numbers on the side. I knew I had some and found them when I was sorting through the filing cabinet. The neighbour and bin men are a nuisance as the bin men keep leaving our rubbish bin next door and his bin on our front and despite him having a bigger rubbish bin than us the neighbour wheels our bin round the back of his bungalow. OH has done a dressing gowned sprint outside to swap them quick the last 2 collection days!

AnnG what I said wasn't correct as Asda don't take the payment till after they have picked your order. Till then they don't know what might be out of stock. I should have said that I clear the checkout and give my 3 numbers on the back of my card as soon as I have a slot and add to my basket straightaway. Yes, I imagine it isn't ideal someone else ordering, but at least you aren't tempted by the special offers they show you!

I did another Zoom meeting today and this one was recycling old jewellery and using what you have in your home. The teacher was nice, although the subject was aimed more at people with no experience, but it was good to see my friend and wave to her and to speak to some other people and see their craft rooms. There were about 18 of us I think. I also learned some more Zoom features too which was useful.

While I was pruning a Euonymus shrub on the front this morning 2 cars turned up at the new house with the elderly asian couple. They have 2 bench seats and a table set up in their drive at the end of the close so they can look right up the close. No social distancing whatsoever!

What a beautiful day it has been - enough blue in the sky to make trousers for a whole shipload of sailors.

I hoovered and dusted downstairs this morning but as it was so nice this afternoon I decided to do something outside, so I cleaned the bird bath. I’m always doing it as the dratted pigeons make such a mess in it. Then I had a look at the pond. Some of you will already know but for those who don’t, my “pond” is the size of a large washing up bowl. It has a couple of plants and a little rock in it and we sometimes get tadpoles and frogs but I haven’t seen any for a while. There was a lot of muck and leaves in the water so I started scooping them out with my hands. I scooped up one handful and realised I’d got a frog sitting in my hands. I don’t know who was more surprised, him or me. I thought of giving him a kiss in the hope that he’d turn into a prince lol.

You’re brave Mel. I don’t think I would trust my OH to order the shopping. I bet you were cross having to go out for bread and milk. I’ve just had a last check on the Tesco order that’s being delivered tomorrow and added a few more bits of veg. I hadn’t quite reached my limit so I ordered a bottle of port and some beer for OH. I’m not sure he deserves it though. Yesterday I said that one of the viburnums he pruned could have had a bit more taken off. Why didn’t I keep my mouth shut? Yep, he had another go and it is now a GREAT DEAL SMALLER. He also moved a couple of heucheras that were being smothered by hostas but I supervised that.

I laughed at your OH pulling up the mint Ann. I think even mine would recognise mint. I am sorry you had a bad night last night, just when the rest of us seemed to have a reasonable night. I hope you have a better one tonight. You’d think your neighbour would recognise his own bin even if the bin men put it back in the wrong place. We don’t have that problem because our bin men don’t come up the road at all. We have to take the bins to the rec. at the bottom of the road and then collect them from there after they have been. As there are only 6 houses in the Close whoever is down there first usually brings all the bins back, two at a time.

Frank, I can’t believe how many scrub bags Ros has made. Does she ever stop working? I hope the weather’s good for Friday evening. You’ll enjoy a good old sing-song.

I hope you are feeling better now Mandy.

I had a text from one of my granddaughters yesterday. She was due to do A-Levels but was unsure what she wanted to do after that so was going to take a gap year and earn some money while she decided on her future. Apparently she has been offered work in a residential care home for dementia patients. I am a bit uneasy about her being in a care home at the moment but she doesn’t start for another three weeks and says they are providing plenty of protection. This is the granddaughter who has done photographic modelling and she also had a Saturday/holiday job in a shoe shop, so she might well have been able to get more modelling or retail work. I’m quite proud of her really for choosing to work in the care sector.

I’m feeling quite tired now and think I’ve been looking at this screen for long enough. Sleep tight, sweet dreams everyone.

Been playign with my clay this afternoon. Have made something but have to put a bit of gold on it yet. I made it in the same stuff I made Mandy's g childrens gummy bears in in the green. I have taken a pic before it was baked and after so far but will take another in the morning to see if its a bit lighter as I had the light on when I took it and sometimes the colour is wrong. Did wash my gardening coats and hats this morning but done nothing in the garden. Breeze has still been cold today.

Hope you have a better nights sleep tonight Ann and all of you who did'nt sleep much last night.

See you all in the morning. Night night sleep tight. <3

Good morning all

I hope you had a good night. I have been awake most of the night with toothache so I am feeling a bit rubbishy this morning. It’s the tooth that I broke and had repaired and refilled a few weeks ago. The dentist said there was no decay there so I don’t know why it’s giving me trouble now. I am not a happy bunny. I shouldn’t complain really because all my problems are minor ones but at the moment it seems to be one thing after another.

I’m just having a lukewarm CoT (daren’t drink it hot), then I’ll have a shower and try to get myself together. Tesco this afternoon so it’ll be wipe, wipe, wipe - I know how to have a good time :-)

Morning Vera and all,

Sorry to hear you are having tooth trouble Vera no wonder you could'nt sleep.

Not a nice morning here at all as its raining. Just falling down from the sky as there's no wind to speak of.

Oh has drunk milk in the night so I have to go and get some more up the shop today. I only drink milk and water with the occasional Ovaltine or orange juice so its important to me. O and our wine on a Saturday night.

Must order our scripts today too and get the shop Saturday order together and down there to be sure to get things for the weekend. I need mushrooms as Asda did'nt send any. They were on the order.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 May 2020 08:49

Good morning all, Oh dear Vera. Could your toothache be connected to the migraine headaches? I know that is a weird question but sometimes headache and toothache go together. Or maybe you bit hard on it yesterday and disturbed it. I hope that it will settle down by itself. Do painkillers help?

With the on line shopping I am never sure to be excited at getting all the goodies or apprehensive at all the wiping down. What do you wipe with? Ours is due Saturday
Last lot was 16 bags full and I think this one is larger! Although both are/were to the limit of items.

Not sure what I shall be doing today although I think dusting downstairs might be on the menu.

Hope everyone else had a good night. I again slept quite well.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 May 2020 10:31

Anng I use either the llemon Asda wipes they sent me or Dettol multi purpose spray as I have a couple of those. The asda wipes are quite nice.

I must dust the telly today and get a cobweb off the back I saw yesterday while washing up. Why don't you see cobwebs when the suns not shining?

I have ordered the scripts and thats about all so far today. I am just going to put my hair up and start on something. Hoover first I think then dust as my hoover chucks out dust.

Good morning my lovely ladies. xxx

Quite a good night again last night. It's getting a bit regular . But nice to wake up feeling relaxed, and refreshed.

No rain here Mel, Mainly wall to wall sunshine, with plenty of low cloud. We are promised rain either later today or tomorrow. PLEASE KEEP IT DOWN THERE.lol

I sent Harvey my Grocery order last night. So hope I haven't forgotten anything. If I have, it will be a excuse for Ros. to pop to Tesco.

She has just walked round the Nicola's and Jonathan's house, to drop off the birthday card for their youngest. Miles. She pops a tenner in the card, so he can get what he wants, better than some silly present, that he may not want.

I did a Bacon sarnie for us this morning, made a nice change from cereal. I will have a mooch through the freezer, to sort out something for tonight. A mans work is never done !!!!

I have just started my last weeks tablets. Ros does them to last FOUR WEEKS. so I must remind her I have started on the last weeks.

No plans for today. I have been thinking of getting a bus out of the village to OXFORD. It would pass a few hours away, and at no cost, due to my Bus Pass. I could always drop-off on the way, if I see a nice little village, but as things are, you can't just pop in for a pint or a COT. Not being strong on my "PINS" I wouldn't be able to walk far anyway.

Even though it's getting close to mid-day, I am still sitting round in my dressing gown. I am off to get a shower and shave, in a mo. No point in dressing up, as I have no where to go.

Stay safe if you are going out. It just reminded me Jonathan's Mum and Dad drove up from Hertford to see Miles for his Birthday, and stood at the bottom of the drive to keep a safe distance. NOT even a CUDDLE with their grandson. Got back in their car and drove home again.

See you soon. xxxx

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 7 May 2020 17:32

Dull start to the day but it's been sunny and warm this afternoon. My toothache seemed to ease right off this morning but it's back again now. I really don't want to have to visit the dentist at the moment but I might have to ring tomorrow if it doesn't improve.

Tesco have been and I have spent an hour and a half wiping and putting away. AnnG, I am much the same as Mel - I use a combination of disposable gloves, Tesco lemon anti-bac wipes and Dettol spray. I am not sure how much good the anti-bac wipes do as it is a virus we are combating but I suppose it's better than nothing.

Unpacking I came across Bramley apples. I couldn't remember ordering them so I checked the order and found that I had asked for Granny Smiths. I think the picker had just gone for the first green apples she saw. Never mind, we'll have apple crumble at the weekend. Otherwise I got everything I ordered.

Gillx Report 7 May 2020 17:42

Afternoon all

The weather has been lovely here so I've managed to get the washing dry. I've just brought it in off the line, good job I did as there are some black clouds around, not sure if we'll have rain though, I hope we do as the gardens could do with it.

The Red Robins aren't doing to well Ann, they're still losing their leaves. The one we put in the ground in the front is starting to come back, so maybe the ones in pots don't like being in there.

Hope your toothache clears soon Vera, there's nothing worse is there and getting an appointment at the dentist right now is out of the question. A warm drink sounds just the right thing, not to hot on your tooth.

Pleased to see you're sleeping better Frank, lets hope it lasts.

I see you had a good nights sleep to AnnG, hope you got all your dusting done.

I notice cobwebs more when the sun shines Mel, just when you think you've got rid of them all there's always one or two you've missed.

I've been going through my family tree and noticed I have made a few mistakes that need sorting. Luckily I found another tree match who is helping me. He made similar mistakes as both sets of parents (his and mine) have the same combination of surnames, so all the children got muddled up, some are his and some are mine, so between us we're slowly sorting them out. Good job I sent a message to him or I'd of never known and neither would he. Well, I'd better get back to it, I'm almost there now, just a couple of children to delete off my tree then it should be correct.

Evening all,

It's been quite hot here today in the sunshine ,we have been doing some jobs in the front garden ,Colin dug a root out and i weeded along the path on the outside of our fence every time some one went past i nipped in the gate until they had gone past ,everyone said thank you ,DIL's parents went past so we stopped and had a chat with them she is a career and so far that home has been virus free .

Oh no Vera i hope the toothache eases up for you ,will the dentist be open tomorrow as it's bank holiday ,not sure that our dentists are open at all ,i've heard several people say we would have to go to some where in Norwich if we needed treatment ,our dentist rang yesterday to cancel our checkup that we should have gone to in a coupe of weeks time .

Frank have you been having a practise with all the old songs ready for tomorrow :-D i expect Ros is missing the choir practise she will be able to have a good old sing song with you .

When i wipe my things i use an anti bac wipe with the Dettol multi purpose spray.

Went to boots for our tablets there was two in front of me and it took ages as they were trying to sort out an elderly lady's tablets so she doesn't have to keep going in for them bless her i don't think she really understood what they were telling her .

Two more nice warm days then we're in for a really cold few days so got to make the most of friday and saturday .

Gill has OH had any luck with finding another job ? good job you noticed your mistake on the tree as it can throw the whole tree out when you add the wrong family .

Ann that was nice having the zoom meeting and seeing the craft rooms of other people ,i always look at the rooms of the stars when they are on the tele now ,oh how the other half live :-D
Hope you managed to get a better nights sleep last night .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 May 2020 19:20

It seems we all use the anti bac wipes and dettol multi surface spray. I like the latter and have used it for years. I ordered it and they sent me the asda lemon wipes instead.

Did'nt get my dusting done as I got lost in the craft room (lounge). I have finished my latest project so will send some pics of before baking and after and after vanishing.

Vera I can remember my aunty Jean telling one of her children who had toothache to chew a bit of white bread on it. We were at a fishing place at the time so not near home. Or you could try a clove.
