Morning all,

We have a nice bright morning at the moment but what will we get later on I wonder? Once again it is sun to the south of the bungalow in the back and grey menacing cloud to the north but I do hope it stays dry. It rained last night in the evening.

Oh has just came out and told me they found the girl safe and sound so thats put my mind at rest. I shall ask in the shop tomorrow if they know anymore or whether she lived around here etc.

Morning Mel, morning all

It's our 33rd Wedding Anniversary today, so no jobs for us, we're going to have a nice relaxing day.

At the moment we're catching up with "The Coach Trip" programme, it can be quite funny, Sandra loves it and it started last Monday, so we need to catch up with the day's we've missed as it's on every day and I'm running out of space on the planner to record them. Later on Sandra wants to watch "The Greatest Dancer" I recorded for her and "Oliver" which is still on the planner from Christmas. So that's Sandra sorted for the day.

I've got a Chocolate Orange my mum bought me for Christmas but if I eat to much of it, it'll lead to a migraine so I'm going to split it between all three of us as they've eaten their's and it'll stop me from being tempted to eat the lot in one go.

Pleased to see the girl was found safe and sound Mel, how old was she? That's a nasty blister you have there, try not to burst it and it should go down itself eventually. Both Sandra and I ended up with blisters over Christmas, Sandra burnt herself on the cooker and as for me I haven't got a clue where mine came from, but they both burst and left us with red marks, so best to leave it if you can.

Sandra has the next Coach Trip on pause so I'd better go.

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GILL AND OH <3 <3 <3

Don't eat too much of that choc orange Gill or you will be ill again. Best to leave it to the others I would say and be good. x

Blister is flat today and I have managed not to burst it so its not sore at all.

I don't know how old the girl was but there was a pic of her on the net asking if anyone saw her to ring the police immediately.

Happy Anniversary Gill and OH, enjoy your relaxing day. and good idea to split the chocolate orange. Not that I could eat a whole one all in one go. :-D :-D

It would have to be a plain choc one for me.

Boil wash is in and the suns still shining with a lovely blue sky now.

Oh is up on the roof repairing the leak.

O Frank it is so annoying when that happens. Please try again with a shorter one maybe. :-S

Gillx Report 10 Jan 2020 14:30

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. We're watching "The baby has Landed" it's all about six couple's having babies and it's following them for the first six weeks of baby's life. At the moment they're having the babies and one couple have had their's and taken their little girl home where they already have four children who are very young, they were trying to take a photo and it was chaos.

I wouldn't of ate a full Chocolate orange, mind you it would of been tempting lol ;-) I had 8 pieces and started with a bit of a headache so stopped, my headache has gone so now I know 8 pieces was to much in one go. They are so delicious I just lost count of how much I'd had. Even though Sandra and OH have eaten their's I wanted to share mine with them as I'd of felt guilty sitting here eating it on my own.
I'm like you Mel and prefer the dark chocolate orange, the one bought me was a milk chocolate which is also nice.
We have the sun here to, but I haven't got any washing as I did it all yesterday.

Hope you have more luck sending your next post Frank.

Thinking of Jane today and hoping the dizziness has gone. Sending love to you Jane <3 <3

Afternoon All,

<3HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GILL and OH <3 I hope you have had a nice day and not been tempted by the Terry's Orange again just yet. lol. They do taste so nice though. :-D Just you take your time with your jobs though and remember to have a banana or something if you don't want to be held up getting a meal. :-) It is annoying when you get short changed at shops and you can't sort it out till they cash up at the end of the day. I often wonder what happens to vouchers when customers don't want them as well?

Ouch Mel that was a nasty blister you had and it's a miracle you didn't burst it with the size it was. I hope your OH managed to repair the leak. I don't think I could get OH on the roof anymore.

I hope your head is better now Vera and you are back to normal, if ever we are! I had to chuckle at the tale of the boots! At least they didn't both go home in one of each!! lol. :-D I went to work once in one navy and one black shoe with half an inch difference in the height of the heels! OH went to an event once in his nearly new navy gabardine mac and came home in an old, quite scruffy navy gabardine mac that was someone else's and unsurprisingly he never got his back!

Another newish bungalow came on the market 3 miles away yesterday in the village where I lived as a teenager. The roof was ideal to extend at the back as it was only 2 bedroomed, but since it was built, the village undertaker has relocated to nextdoor to it and the bungalow's bedrooms are a path's width from the fence and the undertaker's yard the other side. Imagine all the comings and goings with vehicles during the night...........we've crossed that one off!

The local paper yesterday said that 5 of the nice villages a few miles further into the country than us and where we have also been looking for property had woken to find 30 of their vehicles had had both front and back windscreens smashed during the night. What possesses people to do these things? A few years ago there was a similar rampage the other side of the county but tyres were slashed that time. :-S

This morning when I went past the new houses near us on the main road, there was a wrecked car with the front smashed in and dents down the side in the middle of the field next to them and within yards of the Police HQ. I didn't see any gaps in the hedge so it either went over it or they were joyriders.

Mandy, I think it was when I moved here that I used my pressure cooker less as it was awkward where I kept it to get it out and as you say, other things like a steamer and microwave were used more instead. I'd forgotten how good and quick it was for doubling up amounts to freeze half though. We had some of the chicken casserole yesterday and it was soon polished off. :-)

Frank, try again as we want to know if you managed to sort out with the RAC.

The poor Queen has family problems she could do without at age 93!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Jan 2020 18:18

yes we all seem to get trouble with our children at some point in their lives.

Had to bring the wahsing in as it was'nt drying outside. I have put it on the airer in the lounge which is a big room with only one rad on as we don't use it they won't dry quickly in there and if its nice again tomorrow I can put the airer straight outside with the washing on it.

I do hope Frank comes and tells us what he has been up to today and whether he got any satifaction with the RAC and the vouchers. Now I have that Stones song on the brain....... :-| :-| :-|

Its such a shame when nasty things happen in the area you live in when you think that this is your forever home. I do hope your cars are safe Ann. what happened about the bin being tied to the gate or fence or whatever?

I bought three plastic baskets with handles on the ends to put all my spices and cake decorating stuff in in the cupboard thinking they would be good to just pull out and find what I want at the time. They are great and I thought I would buy three more this week in Morrisons but they did'nt have any left!! Blow........ :-0

Evening all,

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GILL and OH i hope you both had a nice relaxing day , those chocolate oranges are very moreish one piece soon leads to another :-D

Ouch Mel that blister looks big ,it was good you didn't burst it though as it would have been very sore .
How's the repair on the roof going ? has OH managed to get it sorted .

Oh dear Frank so annoying when you spend time typing a long post out and then woosh it goes just like that ,i hope we hear from you tomorrow .

So your still having a look for another property then Ann ,i should think there would be lots of noise from the under takers as their work goes on any time of the day .
How awful to wake and find your car all damaged ,why on earth do people do these things .
Yes our poor Queen, that problem is going to take some sorting out .

I had a good day shopping and dear i even say it ..... i bought some things to put away for the girls for Christmas ,little unicorn slippers for a pound !!!! and some lovely tights for two pound !!
I bought some clothes for Lewis's birthday ,socks and a nice pair of canvas shoes for OH for the summer oh and some knickers for myself ,couldn't see any shoes i really liked but i did find a nice book in the works "Crocheted Wreaths and Garlands"
I had to rub some cream on my knee when i got home it was really aching with all the walking and stairs .

Mel i bought a hard clear plastic storage container for the fridge from Aldi yesterday but it's very long and will only fit in the bottom of the fridge on top of the salad box but it's handy for putting all the little jars in or cooked meats ,i did see some that were for storing cans in the fridge they would be good for storing the packet mixes in ,i think i saw some in Wilko's too .
I also bought three plastic storage boxes that will fit under the bed in the back bedroom ,i might use one to store some of my knitting wool ,i have it in a big plastic box and i could then use the big box for some christmas bits .

Gillx Report 10 Jan 2020 20:43

Thank you for the further Anniversary wishes, we've had a lovely day and thankfully my headache only lasted about 10 minutes so seven pieces of the chocolate orange would probably have been enough. We've got lots of chocolate still unopened from Christmas including a large tin of Roses, so I'll have to be careful not to be to tempted for a while yet. I thought a couple of chocolates every now and then should be okay, I'm sure Sandra and OH will enjoy eating them.

OH and I have just been looking at the Penumbral eclipse it was hard to see as it's quite cloudy but we could just make it out. We now have a full moon. I've been reading the stargazing book Sandra bought me for Christmas, the one that tells me everything that's happening night by night for 2020. I got one for last year and really enjoyed reading it, I'm hoping I have one every year now.

How awful Ann for all those car owners, it must of been a shock when they all realised what had happened. I hope the police find out who did it. I don't think I'd like to live next door to an undertaker either.

You did well with your shopping today Mandy. I tend to buy things throughout the year for people for Christmas to, it's nice to spread the cost over a long period of time rather than all in one go isn't it?

Although it's been sunny it's also been a bit nippy here to Mel, pity you didn't managed to dry your washing but at least it's in a room where it will start to dry until you can peg it out again. There's a chance of snow up here over the next few days, but only flurries the main snow is going to be on the higher ground so I doubt they'll be enough for Sandra to make any snowmen.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Jan 2020 22:16

Mandy I bought 4 32 litre boxes last week too and they were all gone this week as well.

I have two big low boxes that fit in the fridge on top of the salad draw, one for bacon and the other for cheese and cooked meats. Ones a Tupperware box and the other was bought in morrisons. Its good when you have a nice day out at the shops and find things you want is'nt it? I bought three oven gloves from the Christmas range in Morrisons too they all have robins on them and I thought they would be good for little pressies this year for Di and Em. I think the selling price at the time was £5 a pair and I got them for £1.50 each which I thought was very good. They are the landing gear type as I call them and they are nice and thick.

Gill I am pleased your hedache did'nt last long fter 7 pieces of chocolate orange, that was a bit naughty........... but sounds like you got away with it.

Ann I don't think I would like to live next door to an undertakers and it just as well you had'nt bought the bungalow and then he moved in next door soon after!! That would have been a right shock.

My blister has completely gone today but I have a red mark on my next finger which had been a bit sore so not sure if I did have a blister there too and that one burst when drying my hands. I seem to be forever washing my hands as when I do the chickens I wash them after each chore. I do have some special stuff to wsh with and use that if I have been out in the shed or the garden as my hands get so dry. I can also use it in the shower. If my hands or fingers crack open it usually means the weather is going to turn really cold.

Morning all,

Dull and dreary here after a lovely day yesterday and the wind is blowing a hooley so I don't think we will get anything in the way of sunshine today.

Egg delivery day and the shop. Oh seems to have drunk a lot of milk this week so I must get some of that too as well as the paper.

Hope we hear from our Frank today and that he dos'nt lose his post again.

Did we all sleep well last night? I did only got up once in the early hours for the loo then dropped off again right away when my head hit the pillow.

Painted a base coat on another dragons egg yesterday but this morning I don't like the colour as its a bit too dark so it will have to be painted again. also did another dragons eye but its not quite finished yet.

Took a pic of my finger last night and this morning it has gone a brownish colour!! Very weird.

Annx Report 11 Jan 2020 12:17

Morning All,

It's very blowy here too Mel and I think rain is forecast here for this evening. OH has gone to a match at Peterborough and my next job is the shop for the other papers and some veg. My camera is charged so I will take it with me although with the wind it's not ideal for photos. I slept like a log last night, just getting up for the loo at 7.00am so I feel quite refreshed. I did my pedalling on my exercise bike as soon as I was up (300 pedals with each leg now after starting with just 50 after Xmas and struggling to get on the bike with my knees at first) I have lost the 3lb I put on at Xmas which is good so I just need to keep it up if I can.

I'm well into keeping more things in boxes and containers now and am looking to get some more too. I need some for the shelf across the top of the porch cloak cupboard. It's much easier to pull a box down to look in than clamber up steps and root around! I have a couple of cheap clear plastic long narrow ones with a handle at the end for the fridge and keep cheese in one and packets of sauces or courgettes/celery in the other. Now I'm eyeing up the cardboard box with dishwasher tablets in to trim down to fit in the drawer to keep some of my charger leads in as they are just a tangle in the drawer at the moment and I usually pull several of them out before I get the right lead. :-S

There are some bargains around just now as Mandy and Mel have been finding. I was looking in the Works the other day and there were some lovely young children's Christmas story books reduced to a £1. Great to buy and keep for next Christmas. I got me a half price bunting string with little red pegs fixed along it.

I hope Frank got sorted with the RAC at last and that we hear from him today.

Also love and best wishes to Jane and hoping she is still ok without any unpleasant effects from her treatment. <3

Best get cracking now or there won't be any papers left! BBL

Frank

Frank Report 11 Jan 2020 12:22

Good morning everyone,

Oh what a couple of days I have had. First Jonathan didn't come round, so I took the BULL BY THE HORNS and phoned the RAC. I had the most helpful young lady you could ask for. She is not allowed to do the process for you, but talked me through everything, and Now ROS has her RAC for another year. Jonathan turned up at 6.30 last night, I told him I had managed to do it, and he went back home.

The chicken that Ros was going to Curry, smelt off, so that went in the bin. Fortunately we had some chicken breasts in the fridge, that I was going to do a casserole with, so Ros used that.

The PRINTER has run out of ink. Ros just rang to say NO WHERE Has them in stock so I will order them on line.

I had a trip over, getting out of the shower yesterday, and ended up on my knees this morning making the bed. I am getting very dodgy on my legs latey, so using my stick more and more. But there are things that you do where a stick is no use.

Belated wishes to you and you OH Gill, I hope you had a nice day.

We have had an invite to my Nephew and his wife's 70 birthday bash in Southend on Sea. I think it's too far for Ros to drive, and it will mean stopping overnight in a travel lodge or hotel, so not a cheap day out. Simon and Sally have an invite also, but they are unsure if they will be going, for the same reason.

We have very strong winds this morning, and the forecast is HEAVY RAIN LATER. Thursday evening (Choir night) both Ros and Val got soaked to the skin, with the rain being so heavy, even with an umbrella. So not happy bunnies.

She is out shopping with Martine this morning, getting fresh veg etc. While I am doing nothing but staying out of trouble.

My left eye has blurred over again, so I will contact the hospital Monday to make an appointment to get it the eye looked at again. I expect the laser treatment will be required after all.

I think I will start to get lunch ready for when madam comes home. Not sure if she will bring rolls and filling, but I can get cups ready for tea/coffee.

Stay well, and enjoy your weekend. xxx

Annx Report 11 Jan 2020 14:35

That's great you got sorted with the RAC lady Frank! :-D You will just have to be very careful now and using your stick will help. Maybe a walker would be helpful around the house and less tiring than a stick as it will help build up your leg muscles if you keep moving as much as you can. It's just a thought. I think it would be a long trip for Ros to drive to the 70th birthday bash too, especially finding the venue with today's traffic, but then she will know best what she's happy to do and does more driving than me these days!

I'm still battling on with my Christmas jigsaw, so will go and do half an hour on it now. It's about 2 thirds done now, but the light in the lounge and my little lamp cause a sheen on it where I sit which doesn't help! Then I will sort out the bathroom cabinet I think. How is your crafting going Mel?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 11 Jan 2020 15:13

I'm on my 5th dragons eye Ann. I seem to have so much more to do about the house and feel guilty when I disappear into the lounge and the tabel in the window where I work on my painting.

O Frank its good to hear from you and know your alright. I went to Em's this morning and I must have put the window down when I opened the door and when I came out it had rained and all blown in the car and on my seat so I came home with a wet botty.

Had a bit of news when I went to Em's. You know I said there was a girl missing in our area and then I said they found her? Well Em's sister lives in a farm at Stibb Cross which is 9 miles up the road from us. At 9.30pm someone knocked on a door that they don't use so Sophie told Adrian to answer it. There stood the girl who said to him she had gone for a walk and the darkness overcame her adn she was lost. S and A had not seen the news or been on Facebook so S had a look and then rang the police. They did'nt let her in the house as they were'nt sure whether she was on her own or had people waiting to get into their house . The police came and picked her up. They said she was a bit weird. You just never know these days whether she was on drugs or just a special needs person.
