Ha ha that's brilliant Mandy!! :-D :-D I must see if I can drop it into conversation when he wants me to check he isn't going septic tomorrow! lol. ;-) ;-) That's good they know what the bug is and you can get some antibiotics for Colin tomorrow. He will soon be feeling more comfortable.
A garden centre near here was selling wool, 5 balls for £5 just this week, so I fetched some this afternoon to (hopefully!) do a macrame cord to string my christmas card bunting I want to make. I might put a few pompoms or tassels in it.
I found Ted's jumper that just needs one sleeve knitting the other day so must see if I can work out the adjustments I made so both sleeves match! It's fatal when you have a break with making things.....the momentum just goes.

Annx your OH ouch!! You’d think these men were old enough to be wary of such accidents. You gave him as much sympathy as I would have done!
Those little partridges sound sweet.
A lot of the cards I make are not complicated ones, I prefer them to be fairly simple and rely a lot on getting the right colours matching. I know a lot of people make shaped cards but I am not keen I have made a few different ones but to make them all complicated would take ages. I did start them in August. I always make this many.
Some are hand delivered but a lot are posted I buy stamps through the year so don’t have to buy them in bulk at Christmas. I treat the postage as part of my hobby. Having so many to send comes from moving around so much we have friends in all the places we have lived in and left. But I love sending them and making them. Oh I have also made another 30 which are for a friend to sell for charity.

Your poor OH Ann. I thought you would be all sympathetic, mopping his brow and sitting him down with a cup of tea, but it did make me laugh. For some reason Mr Bean came to mind :-)
I hope you have a better night Frank and you too Mel. That sounds like a nasty cough you have. OH and I have both had a sore throat on and off for several days. It feels like the start of a heavy cold but never seems to develop.
It’s possible that spiders are setting the alarm off I suppose but I think our neighbours will have to get the company back to look at it. It hasn’t gone off today so now I am worrying that we didn’t reset it properly last time. I’m normally a fairly calm person who just copes with what comes but I’m turning into a neurotic wreck over this!
OH cooked dinner tonight and says he will do it tomorrow. If I cook he clears up after the meal, that is he loads the dishwasher and maybe washes up the odd pot or two. So how come when he cooks and I clear up I have to practically spring clean the kitchen?
I think I am going to have a look at the crossword now and then have an early night. I didn’t sleep well either last night. OH was in snoring mode so at 2 am I got up, got a drink and decamped to the spare room. Fingers crossed that we all sleep well tonight

Vera I always used to find if oh cooked or BBQ'd I would be running around finding him this and that and there was always a mess to clear up afterwards. It used to make me wonder if it was worth it so now I cook everything. He does the washing up. He did always clean the BBQ though and would never let me do that but we don't have them anymore.
Poor G Ann it must be awful to do that to yourself at least we girls don't have that worry. Was he comarndo at the time?? They say a dead bird can't fall out of the nest!!!!!
Throats still raw and I have been sucking sweets today which helped a bit.

Morning all
Sorry to hear about your experience at the hospital yesterday Jane, I must admit I'd be the same as you and would have to be knocked out for it to happen. Not long to wait though and at least you won't know what's going on when it's happening, then hopefully you'll know what's wrong and the doctor can help sort the problem out. I'm sure there's lot of people like us, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Hope the alarm hasn't gone off again Vera and you have a dull day. I can't believe I'm not wishing you good weather, but if the dull days give you peace of mind then I'll wish them for you. When are your neighbours back, so I can wish you the sunny days again? At least you'll be able to relax then. If this has been happening to your neighbours they'll be pleased you've worked out why the alarm keeps going off, not that they can do anything about it though.
I passed your message onto Sandra Frank, she said to say thank you. She's being really good about the situation and now understands that she doesn't have long to wait. To help her understand time I said to count the sleeps, I just hope the weather is kind to us on the day we hope to do it. I said to OH if it's light rain I'll stand over him with an umbrella so he can connect the light to the new cable and drill the hole to push the cable through into the house, both jobs will only take a few minutes then he can put a plug inside and plug it in for her. I just hope we don't have heavy rain or my plan won't work. We are determined to have it set up for her as soon as we can, once the items arrive. I can't wait to see her face the first night her planter is all lit up PINK. :-) :-) I had to have meds like you years ago when I had a nervous breakdown, it does take time for them to get into your system but well worth the wait. It shouldn't be to long now, then you shouldn't be so depressed. Keep your chin up and chat with us, we'll cheer you up <3 Just think of the positives, like your new Astro Turf, that'll be down soon and you'll be in the knowledge of knowing you'll never need to cut that lawn again :-) :-) Our grass needs cutting so you're not on your own there, but a few nice days of dry weather and it'll soon look it's best again after another cut, so that's something to look forward to as well.
Hope you're feeling a little better today Mel and your cough and sore throat have gone, it does sound like you've inhaled a bit of the glue, hopefully you'll be back to your normal self soon. <3
I've just read your post Ann and actually laughed out loud when I read what your OH said about the box brownie. You two are like a comedy act, I always look forward to your posts to see what else you've said to each other. It certainly brightened my day with all the funny comments lol :-D :-D Hope he's okay after his accident yesterday though, but still smiled at the comments.
Sorry to hear Colin does have a bug Mandy, but at least he knows now and the antibiotics will soon start working. Sending get well wishes to him and hoping for a speedy recovery. I like your idea of a big switch on, so we're going to do that when Sandra's light is finally installed. Thanks for the idea, it'll make it more special for her.
You've been very busy making all those cards AnnG, Sandra has been doing the same recently and has almost finished all hers, she said she's just got enough stuff to make the ones she wants for family and friends. You should of seen her room you couldn't see the floor or her bed, but she was a happy bunny making them. It's nice of you to make 30 for Charity, what a lovely thing to do.
Going to have a cuppa, then take another look at OH's tree, I did quite well yesterday and have almost finished the whole tree on his side, hopefully it'll be completed really soon, then I can concentrate on Christmas as that's not far off now. Sandra's started talking about Christmas shopping so as soon as her light is done we'll need to make arrangements for that and of course we've got our night out at the Christmas event at the Garden centre soon. OH got a phone call yesterday to make his flu jab appointment, he made it for the same day at the time we need to head off to the event , so he's got to change his appointment now.

Morning Gill and all,
Its been bright here this mornign but it is cloudy now and I expect it will rain soon. It must have rained a lot in the night as next to the chicken run we have a lake!! there used to be a ditch there but over the years its been leveled out but water finds its own level dos'nt it. We have a ditch at the end of the field which should go into the field that backs us but they don't keep it clear. There is just a sort of plough line there from when there was corn planted there when I was first sown here.
Just the shop to do today and I hav'nt enough eggs to give Em any as I made a nice quiche for dinner last night.
I slept much better last night and did'nt wake coughing so that was good. Hope you alll had better nights last night and were able to get some well earned kip.

Good afternoon all. Mel, pleased you had a better night. It may well have been the smell of the glue that irritated your throat. Is the room well ventilated?
We had a terrific storm late afternoon yesterday, thunder rain huge hailstones. But today it is lovely, sunny, not very warm but pleasant. After England rugby finished we went out and did a few bits in the village then went to the Range, got some pearlite for the garden pots and a few craft bits, on the way home we called in at the community centre and had pasties and a coffee. so that has blown the diet for today.
Jane how are you feeling today? tired I expect after yesterday, even if they didn't complete the procedure it was probably still tiring.
Gill let's hope you get one of the rare dry days when you have all the electrical bits for Sandra's light. Where are you going to put the second light? Or is it to be a spare? Yes it is a lot of cards I just go on making them while I have the stuff out then any extra are put away until the next year. I have put a few bits in the post for Sandra, not a lot but enough to boost what she has so she can definitely get all her cards done. It should arrice Tuesday but should go through the letter box ok.

Afternoon All,
The sun's out after another night of rain. I think we are due a few dry days here so I'll put the washer on later. The washing mounts up quite quickly, or is it time passing faster!
Sandra has a few treats/outings to look forward to hasn't she Gill. She really loves this time of year and I wish you could send us a photo of her new garden when it's finished. I bet we all have a different picture in our heads of what it will be like. :-)
AnnG that is a lot of cards and you are good doing some cards for charity too. You are better than me with starting on things in good time!
There was a bit in our local paper today about 8 men being arrested at the travellers' site about a quarter of a mile from us yesterday morning. The raid was at 4.00am and it said there were many police cars and drones but we heard nothing. It said it was to do with criminal activity and firearms. There have been previous arrests there to do with slavery a few years ago and some were being evicted from the site a few months ago as they weren't travellers. To look at from the road the site is immaculate like a holiday park, with no litter or rubbish around but there is a security gate across the entrance now which made us wonder why they needed one at the time!
OH has gone to a match somewhere near IKEA. He managed to twist his knee getting out of the bath last night, which took his mind off his other afflictions, but he recovered fast this morning (as they do), once he'd found a match to go to. I shall tootle a couple of junctions up the motorway to a different factory shop to see what cardigans they have. When I looked in M&S the other day, they were either too long and would hang below my coat hem or had sleeves that were too long or a bit tight. :-S I must avoid the cafe now I need slim knees though.
I see we are losing Bon Marche now. I used to find a few things there. I still miss C&A and BHS!
Glad you had a night without coughing Mel and that your throat isn't as sore. A nice quiet day today doing your crafts I think, but not with that glue. What sort is it?
I hope Jane has recovered from yesterday now.

Its been dry all this morning and into the afternoon but clouds keep coming over and its none too warm out there.
Still no tiny eggs. They are always small at first.

Annx when I told OH about your OH's 'accident' he said that was why he sent a certain pair of trousers to the charity shop. They had a very short zip which made 'access' difficult and fraught with danger!! Hope you can find a cardigan ok. When I was clearing out my wardrobe I found several cardigans I had forgotten I had. Many of them are the sort M&S sell when they also sell short sleeve sweaters to make twin sets! so I do not need a new cardi.

Afternoon all,
Don't talk to me about ALARMS. !!! Ros's car alarm has been a right pain in the backside. On Thursday evening at Mothers Club, it kept going off in the Village hall car park. When she got home and locked the car it started again. I ended up leaving the car open all night. It played up again yesterday, and today. I have been on "GOOGLE" and hope I have now cured the problem. We will have to wait and see. On Monday she will take it to the garage, and if needed, have it disconnected.
Sorry to hear about your trouble Jane. Lets hope it will all be sorted on the 31st.
Your OH has my sympathy Annx I have been there and got the TEE SHIRT. Not a great experience, but I expect most of us men have been there. lol lol
Glad you are feeling a bit better Mel, This morning I woke with a chesty cough and a headache. I am pleased to say, both seemed to have relented. Great news that you are getting some more new girls. I'm sure they will soon settle in with the others. lol
Sunny afternoon here, which means the lawns will be drying out. So in the morning, if dry enough I might try doing the lawns. Then I can get showered and shaved, ready to go out for lunch for 3.00 pm. Another day without cooking. LOVELY JUBLY !!!
Just spoked with Conrad. Kerry, Mark and Alexander are there for a week. He has put them in the Villa next door, so they can make as much noise as they like, without disturbing him and Jan. They will of course spend days with them, Alexander has already been in the pool. and loves it.
Ros is busy knitting herself a full length cardigan for the winter. She has finished the back, and now on the sides.
I really must try to get out from these four walls. I haven't been down the pub for months or the club. So that's a goal I will aim at next week. ;-) ;-)
Take care all, see you tomorrow. xxx

Ooh Ann poor OH !!!. I think most boys and men have been caught in their zips at one time or another. It must be really quite eyewatering :-0. The other thing is find is that they often forget to zip up and walk around with the front of their trousers gaping!!.
Many a time I have had to just point and raise my eyebrows LOL
How annoying it Ros's car alarm Frank.Hopefully you have sorted it .Vera are the neighbours back yet? You will be so relieved once they are and you will be able to relax again.
Mel I hope your sore throat isnt going to turn into a nasty cold. I often find that the throat is the first thing and then the cold follows.
Little Partridges are sweet little birds Ann. I have often seen them down the lane and they alway look a bit lost ,just like the ones you saw yesterday.
I was thinking of getting some Xmas cards but there are no box ones yet, just individual ones. I suppose it is a bit early really. AnnG I think buying stamps the way you do for Xmas is a good idea . Much better than forking out a huge amount all in one go.
I feel fine today. I did sleep for a while yesterday after I got home ,and was in bed and asleep again by 9. But then I was awake in the early hours. So I watched some tv(Come dine with me) and then let Thomas out at 4. I slept then until Chris woke me up with a cuppa about 8.
I need to finish cleaning the big bathroom. I started earlier but after bending down to do the skirtings and around the loo and sink I had to stop as it was making the reflux worse. Chris could hear me burping from downstairs :-D

Jane pleased time hear you are ok today, well until you decided to crawl around in the bathroom. Maybe the skirting could stay dusty for a while.
Yes it is a relief when I realise I have enough stamps for all the cards. Belonging to the GR birthday card group I do use a few during the year as well.

I just said not to use the glue today Mel and then asked what sort it was. The necklace sounds nice. :-) I forgot to say OH wasn't commando......he needs support you know. ;-) I've never heard that saying about the nest!
That's good you have recovered from yesterday Jane. I would leave it if I were you or just put a feather duster over the low down things for now so you don't need to bend. We have to be careful bending over after meals now or we get indigestion
Yes I expect most of you chaps have the same TEE SHIRT Frank! Apparently FIL hung on to his button fronts till he could no longer find any more, presumably for that reason. I'd never thought that trousers might find their way to a charity shop because of that AnnG. Is it one strike and they are out with your OH? Maybe they should put a signs up in charity shops where the trousers are......'BUYER BEWARE' . :-) My bras that ride up (you know what I mean ladies!) end up in the charity shop. ;-) When the bottom band isn't deep enough and you reach up......not a good look when out shopping to look as if you have a double pair! lol.If things have gone too far you can't even do a discreet adjustment. I usually hide behind a rack of clothes to do it, probably right in front of a security camera!
That's enough of me lowering the tone now so I'll move on to cardigans. I still haven't got one, despite them having a big selection. I'm a cardigan short anyway after leaving one behind at the hospital the previous time I went. I did get some black shoes though with a smart, oblong, shiny grey buckle on the toes. The heavens opened on the way home and I nearly had to pull up on the dual carriageway as we were all at such a slow crawl. It stopped as I arrived home and there was a lovely double rainbow. I wonder what folks in primitive times thought rainbows were?
It will be good for you to see 4 different walls for your meal tomorrow Frank. I see that 3 of the carveries in the area here are going to save food waste from next April. The idea is that you download an App to see where they have food left, order and pay for a carvery, then collect it (takeaway) within a time slot. You get meat, vegetables and roast pots and a pot of gravy for £3.29. Cheap enough for anyone to buy and better than it going to landfill, although as OH said, some might be a bit dry if it hasn't sold.

Interesting about saving food waste Ann. Wonder if it will work. Being that it will have been sitting until nobody wants it, not actually for me but I hope it does work and saves waste.
:-D reading about bras riding up I have this vision of the people watching the security cameras having the ‘what on earth is that woman doing’ conversation. Sneakily we didn’t mention the zip problem when taking the trousers to the charity shop. I think it was more the thought of being caught short and being in too much of a hurry to wrestle with access that caused the trousers to be binned, that and being 81 and not so agile. :-D

Gosh Ann I have never had that problem with my bra. The only time I had problems was when I bought a wonder bra. Remember those? I am close together and when I was wareing it I suddenly looked down and had four boobs. I had come out of the cups and my boobs were in the middle. I never wore it again. I just could'nt stay in it.
Jane are you still taking the Omeprazole and what milligram are they if they are 10mg take two. Thats what the doc told me when I had your problem. She gave me double so I could take them when needed. Oh takes 20mg every day and I take mine every day.
I have finished the necklace and this afternoon I did up Sandra's Christmas presents. I have had to make a box to fit them into as one is thin and big but I managed to get it in the box I have had to make. There's still room if I find anything else to put in it.
Throats not too bad tonight but I have had a couple of glasses of wine!!
AnnG thats a good idea to buy stamps throught he year so you have them for Christmas and not a large expense all in one go.
Jane I have bought cards in Morrisons and they have some in boxes this year all ready. Also the c harity shops like the British Heart Fioundation have boxes of cards and some quite nice ones too.
I am going to see if I can find a nice film to watch tonight now so am saying goodnight.

No I'm not sure about it after people have leaned over it all afternoon talking and coughing either AnnG. When we go we are usually first in the queue to avoid that. Mind you I suspect some is used to make the next day's soup!
I think my OH and zips just don't get on. I've had to release him from a sleeping bag in the past and many times from zip up anoraks. I won't let him anywhere near my case when we go away as he always manages to trap something in the zip. He's just too impatient or in a rush to do things. Speaking of trapping things I think one of the worst things was when he trapped a thin plastic carrier bag in the boot catch of his car. He had to drop the back seats and remove the window shelf (hatchback) to get in the boot from inside and spent most of a morning there with a pair of tweezers and pliers teasing out bits of plastic. Goodness knows what the neighbours thought if they saw him. He's been more careful since though. :-D
Oh Mel I remember the wonderbra and could just picture your problem! lol. Once a bra malfunctions it has to go. lol. Once you find ones that are good you try to stick with them. You have been busy today and have put me to shame as I haven't been in the mood to do much. Glad the wine has helped your throat!
