You would have thought if the postman came round to tell you it had been found he could have brought it with him to save oh having to go to the post office yet again. :-|

OH returned with the parcel, Sandra heard the gate go and shot towards the door before OH had a chance to get through it, she put her hands out for the parcel and OH said jokingly "No it's for Christmas" Sandra then said "No way, I've been waiting for ages" he gave her the parcel and she is delighted with everything inside. I did smile when she put the gold Christmas hat on followed by the Christmas ear muffs over the top, she stood up and looked at herself in the mirror. She was worried she wasn't going to get it, but is pleased as punch it's finally arrived.
MESSAGE FROM SANDRA
Thank you Mel for my lovely present. I love the gold hat, it's nice and sparkly and the colour pencils with the feathers on the ends. I was running out of stickers, so I love the stickers to. I'm going to wear the Christmas hair bobbles when we go to the Christmas do at the garden centre. I love going there and can't wait to show off my new hair bobbles to everyone. I can't wait to see the snowman light up in my bedroom tonight. I'm so pleased I got your present and love everything you sent me. Thank you, you are very kind. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
As you can see Mel she is very happy, I don't think I've ever seen her so excited outside Christmas Day........bless her.

O thats great and thank her for all the lovely hearts please. I can't remember what the Christmas bobbles were??????? I bet she loved the earmuffs with the snowmen on. The white stickers are to put on her bedroom window just make sure it is clean when you put them on for her. They have those in our library van still on from last Christmas and I think of Sandra every time I see them as I knew I had them for her.

I've just text OH's friend about Sandra's light and he said when he orders things from Amazon they normally arrive around 8pm so her light won't go in today. The ground is quite dirty where the planter is so OH has got his jet wash out and is cleaning all around the bungalow as the patio and driveway are mucky too. He said he wants to clean around Sandra's planter before he puts the light in, so the jet of water doesn't go near the electric light. The sun is out so it's the perfect weather for the job.
It sounds like you've got the weather we had this morning Mel. I hope your knee hold up while you're at the shops. Maybe you could rest it this afternoon. Yes, I wondered if you'd be compensated rather than Sandra, after I'd sent the message, but it all ended well in the end and she is so happy now. No we don't have any post on a Sunday. I thought the same as you that the postman could of brought the parcel with him, when he came to tell us about it.
When Sandra woke up to find the parcel still wasn't at the post office her little face fell, I felt so sorry for her, but now she has the biggest smile I've ever seen and is also looking forward to having her light put in when it arrives and the weather lets us do the job. I also need to wire the little butterflies I bought her onto the screening, but it's a bit to wet to do it at the moment after all the rain and OH is cleaning there now so I can't get near to do it. I would have to lean over all the plants and they are soaking wet so I'll do that for her when it's a bit drier. Not long now and her planter will be finished, with hopefully the PINK light she wanted in there too. I'm pleased everything is working out for her now, what with the parcel going missing and us not being able to find the right light, she's been a bit upset, but now she's a happy bunny again

I missed your post there Mel, I've passed on your thanks to Sandra for all the lovely hearts on her message to you. They were snowmen on the bobbles with little red hats with Ivy and berries on. She loves them.

Good morning to you all,
Another very bad night. Went to bed around 10.30 pm Not much on the radio, so got my head down. Ros came in around 11.45. and I was still awake. I seemed to have dozed and being awake until 4.00 am. Went to the loo, and slept till 7.30.
We didn't eat last night. At lunchtime I had TWO smoked mackerel fillets with two slices of B & B. and a coffee. Ros had cheeses and biscuits. When it got to 6.00 pm, neither of us were hungry. So dinner is all ready for tonight.
The light SAGA got sorted. Jan had seen it on QVC, and thought as Ros had recently sent her a surprise present, she would do the same.
Pleased to see the parcel has arrived for Sandra. you are so kind Mel, sending all these presents to her. She must be so excited, to receive these presents, and not knowing what's in them xxx
Ros is out with Carolyn today, then at Mothers Club tonight, so HOME ALONE AGAIN. !!!!
After all the continuous rain yesterday, I thought it might be brighter today. WHO AM I KIDDING. ?? It is so drab outside, that I have the table light on beside my chair. Rather than put the heating on, I have a light fleece on instead, and glad of it. ;-) ;-) ;-)
What are you all doing today.? I have had my breakfast "SNAP CRACKLE AND POP" Rice Crispies, lol. I will have a coffee and a Scotch Egg for lunch, and maybe a piece of coffee cake, that I spotted in the bread bin. lol lol
Stay safe, see you all later. xxxx

Afternoon all
What a hoo-hah you have had with Mel’s parcel to Sandra, Gill. I’m glad she has got it at last. Our postman is usually pretty good and tries to leave parcels with neighbours if he can but some of the delivery companies are hopeless. I was expecting a parcel one day and, as it was late arriving, I was standing at the window watching for it when a van drew up. The driver didn’t even take the parcel out of his van. He just walked to the front door, walked back and got in the van again. I managed to run out and stop him just as he was driving off. Of course, he swore blind he had rung the bell and banged on the knocker but he didn’t have an answer when I asked him why he hadn’t put a card through the door.
I hope your knees stand up to Donkey Day Mel. It does seem to come round quickly doesn’t it. Tuesday is my main HW day and I hate it. Hoovering and dusting is done and there is a big red cabbage casserole in the oven that will make about 5 good portions to go in the freezer. After lunch I’ll clean sinks and basins and do the ironing so it’s a boring day today.
It’s good you have put on a little weight Frank and that you had a decent meal at the Carvery. It must have been a real surprise getting an unexpected parcel and finding a Christmas freebie.
Jane, if you are looking in I hope you are feeling a bit better. I think you said your doctor’s appointment is tomorrow. Good luck, let’s hope he can sort you out and get you back to normal.
OH is calling. He has apparently made us a lunchtime sandwich so I had better go and have it.

Yes, it was a bit of a hoo hah with the parcel Vera, but Sandra has it now and is thrilled with everything Mel sent her. OH went to Mr Grumpy next door to see if it had gone to him as the neighbour on the other side is on holiday, when Mr Grumpy said no, we didn't believe him as we know what he's like.....I guess he was telling the truth. Thankfully he didn't mention the trees being cut down. If you remember we cut them down in the middle of the night lol, so he mustn't of noticed. Fancy the postman not even taking the parcel out of the van. I did smile though when you said he didn't have an answer about the card, good on you for asking about it, he clearly wasn't doing his job properly. It's a good job you were looking out though, or you may never of received your parcel. Sandra was luckily. Her's ended up in Chester by mistake so she managed to get it in the end and the postman was very apologetic when he came around to tell us it was finally at the depot. At least it wasn't lost in the post, or she would of been very upset and I think Mel would of been upset to.
So the mystery of the light up free tree has now been solved, that was nice of Jan to buy it for you and Ros, Frank. Sorry to hear you've had another bad nights sleep, it's no joke is it? I think that's why I was so tired last night with having two bad nights on the run, it makes you feel so drained doesn't it? I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight. I don't have anything planned for today so Sandra and I are going to watch some films I've recorded and I might take a look at OH's tree again. I was going to take a look this morning but it's been a bit hectic here today, so I didn't get around to it. OH is jet washing all around the bungalow so that'll look better when he's finished. Although there are a lot of clouds around now so if it rains he'll have to stop. At least it's all clean down the side of the bungalow where Sandra's planter is, so as soon as we have her light and the weather is dry we can put that in for her and I can finish off the pretty bits, then it'll be finished. I must admit it's looking really good, so should look smashing when it's all complete.
Yes, I was thinking of Jane this morning to and hoping she was feeling a little better.
<3 <3 <3 GET WELL SOON JANE <3 <3 <3
Sending a gentle hug from Sandra and I

Good to know Frank is safe for another day. What a nice surprize for Ros to get a present too. Now you know where it came from it will put your minds at rest. So not a very good night Frank. Good that you have put a little weight on and the doc was pleased with you.
Tomorrow is my HW day but it dos'nt always get done.......... I get sidetracked. Others will know what I mean. I start off with good intentions and then spy a bit of craft and away I go.
Hope Jane is feeling better today. not nice when you are under parr.
Must dash now or I shall be very late back. BBL

Just had another tussle with our neighbours alarm system. I heard the alarm going so over we went again. It’s easy to disarm and stop it but resetting it is a nightmare. It kept flashing the words “conservatory door” at us so OH checked it all again. Everything was securely locked and nothing out of place so we tried to reset the alarm. It took several attempts but eventually we managed to do it without phoning the company again.
When we got back home OH had a brainwave. Both last time the alarm went off and this time the sun was shining so he wondered if it is shining direct on a sensor for the conservatory door and it is expanding or getting overheated and setting the alarm off.
So now I jump at every noise outside and quake every time the sun shines. I must be the only person in the country praying for grey skies till the weekend when the neighbours return.

Good afternoon, late checking in today. We have been out all day with the garden visits group to Batdford Arboretum. Luckily it was very mild and stayed dry but the sun didn't appear until we were driving home. There were 12 of us altogether but to walk round we split up into 3 groups of 5, 4, and 3. We walked 2 miles. It was an enjoyable walk but the trees have not really turned yet the Acers especially are way behind, they need a cold night before they go red. We then drove to a nearby garden centre where the restaurant is better than Batsford in our opinion, 9 of us went there, not sure where the others went but they didn't join us. Anyway we spent well over an hour there eating and chatting so that was nice.
Have you noticed, those of you who visit garden centres how theya re a hive of activity getting their Christmas stuff out?
I have read through the comments so far. so pleased the parcel was found Gill/Mel. I don't think the postman would have been allowed to handle the parcel a second time but it was good of him to come and tell you what happened.
I am with you with housework Mel, I find it easy to get side tracked into card making, the housework will be there another day. I don't do all mine in one day either, just do bits usually when OH is at golf. If he doesn't go it often doesn't get done.
Frank sorry you had a bad night, hope tonight is better. You may have been hungry if you didn't sleep as if you ate at lunch time then nothing, it is a long time to go through the night. Even if you are not hungry try to have a milky drink or at least a couple of biscuits before you go to bed.
Jane if you are looking in hope all goes well for you at the doctors and you can find a help for the reflux. Stress doesn't help so worrying about it will exacerbate it.

Oh dear Vera, not the neighbour's alarm again, we have the sun and don't mind keeping it until they are back lol :-D :-D I hope it doesn't go off again.
It sounds like you've had a great day out AnnG, pity the Acers aren't red yet, they would of made some lovely photo's. Like you said we need the cold weather for that to happen, although it shouldn't be to long away. The garden centre we went to the other day has already got all their Christmas trees and decoration out, they were putting them out the other week, it's the garden centre we go to that has the Christmas event. Sandra is going to wear her new Christmas bobbles that Mel gave her, when we go. We really enjoy that night as they have food, drink and a choir, plus other bits and bobs and a Farmers Market, it's a really good night out and it's free. Santa is there to giving out sweets, which I think is Sandra's favourite bit lol :-D :-D
Sandra's light has been delivered to OH's friends house, so he has just gone to collect it, she is really excited now. He's still jet washing the drive and then he'll do the back, then tomorrow he will go to the shop and buy the waterproof connector and the extra cable he needs to connect Sandra's light for her. I think we're due for some dry weather at the weekend, so it'll probably be done then, in the meantime she can see what colours are on it and how the 4 different modes work, so she can choose the one she likes best. If the light doesn't get to hot, she might have it in her bedroom, until it can be put outside.
We have just started watching the first Christmas film, after watching another film called "Twisted Sisters", which we both thought was a bit weird, it wasn't a Christmas one, so all we have left now are the Christmas films, which I'm sure we'll enjoy more.
OH's just got back with Sandra light, so we're going to take a look at it now. I hope it'll be big and bright enough to light up her planter for her.

Evening All,
No sun here all day. :-( It poured with rain last night and the fields were all flooded nearby this morning and it's another dreary day.
I have only been to Batsford once AnnG and the Acers were lovely there as you say. What a shame they weren't quite at their best for you this time. Still you had a nice walk and natter and some of the trees would be turning.
What a palaver with the parcel! :-0 Didn't you have trouble with a parcel once before Mel or did I dream that! Still all ended well and Sandra is loving the contents. I bet she thought Christmas had come early Gill and will be looking forward to the light working next!
Oh no Vera, not again!! I hope you don't have any more trouble with the alarm. I wonder why they haven't had this trouble themselves unless they don't use it all the time. I would be a nervous wreck now if I were you and not want to go out in case it goes off. Roll on the weekend and their return.
Sorry you had another bad night Frank and I hope you are due a better one tonight! Your sleep pattern seems to have gone all to pot just now! I see the lit tree mystery is solved and how nice to get the free gift from Jan.
It was a miracle yesterday as we found some new dining chairs the first place we looked! We looked elsewhere after but the first we saw were the best. They are similar to the old ones, but real leather this time and far more comfy.
Since finishing full time work I have no set HW or shopping day as I like to go out somewhere if it's nice weather or do something like craft or a bit in the garden, all more interesting! lol. I wish I could just blitz the HW in a few hours like I could once though instead of doing a bit here and there.
Now I know what's happening with the surgeon again I think I will go with OH to his eye test on Thursday and see if I can book one for me although I'm not due till February next year. My eyes are worse now with the cataracts and I shall need a street light to do my beading in the evenings soon. I don't want them to get so I can't drive.
If you look in, good luck for tomorrow Jane and I hope they can soon sort you out. xx <3

I did manage to take 50 photos, you are probably like me Ann, have camera take photos. Even though it would have been better with a blue sky I did find some trees that were colourful, no deep reds but lovely yellows and orange and some turning red, cropping in close cuts out most of the grey sky and the colours stand out.
Gill hope Sandra’s light is a success and there is some pink.
Vera, oh dear that alarm is a liability. Maybe your OH is right it sounds feasible. You will be pleased to see them back.

Yes I'm the same AnnG and usually have my pocket camera with me. I tried to take some of our floods today but it was so dark I doubt they will be very good. I haven't put them on the laptop yet but will have a look tomorrow. What with wind and rain round here the leaves will be off the trees before I get much chance to get many of autumn.

O no not again Vera. What a nuisance not being able to reset it quickly. You could be right about the sun on the conservatory sensor. I don't expect they have the alarm on when they are in just maybe at night so it would'nt happen then with no sun out.
Totally knackered when I got home today. Oh had his usual curry which he cooks himself and I had a nice piece of smoked haddock with sweetcorn and a slice of bread and butter. It went down a treat.
I am going to watch World on Fire and go to bed where it will be nice and warm cos I am very cold tonight.
Night night see you all in the morning.

When I got up at 1,30. I decided to look at the manual/. As I opened the car with the remote, the alarm started off . so I have locked it and will look again in the morning
My eyes are getting tired, and my shoulders are very sore, so I hope I can get off to sleep. My mouth feels like the bottom of a parrot's cage. So will rinse my mouth before I go in.
See you soon xxxx.
