Gill oh has just said to me he shoud have got me to paint the hands before he put them on!!!!!! You must have read his mind before he said it. The hands are so thin and bend very easily.
Its really hot here today and I was going up the border but I will be in full sun so am going to give it a miss yet again. I have some ironing to do so I may do that andget it out of the way but first I have some paperwork to do, car insurance etc.
Well six months to your next dentist appointment then AnnG. Which reminds me I need to make an appointment.
as to the nut he never does anything like that in the right place. If it in the kitchen and he drops some small part of something its a devil to find on the carpet we have in the dining area. I dropped a bit of marmalade off my toast on Tuesday morning while sitting at the pc. I looked all over the carpet but could'nt it to wipe it up and thought the hoover would find it. Yesterday taking a shower before going in the tub I felt something sticky on my sock and when I looked I had dropped the marmalade on my sandle and it was still there. I must have crossed my feet and squashed it through a hole in my shoe. When I was looking for it I moved my feet apart and never thought to lok on my shoe!!!!!!!

Tut Tut Mel, eating at the computer. Lucky it was not on the keys
Pleased your OH is much better Gill.
Glad that Sandra like the animal photos, there were five giraffes and a lot of penguins and flamingoes but the latter were difficult to photograph as they came towards us all bunched together (penguins) and didn't stand up (flamingoes). did she like our daughter's cats as well. Luna is a sweetie, very affectionate spens a lot of time lying on me with her head under my chin. Molly is very nervy and she and it took her a week to actually come into the room where we were.

What are you like Mel, JAMMIE TOES lol lol
Yes a very warm and pleasant day. I was busy in the kitchen for a couple of hours. I have made a big DAFFY of Mince, with added Onion, Carrot and fresh peas. I have done more Broad Beans, for Ros. A sweetheart cabbage and Runners. I was going to makSS pie but Ros said she prefers it just as Mince with Mash and Veg, so that won't be a problem. I will make A sheep S pie for Tony, so he can have that over a coupe of days. Am I a softy or what ??
Ros needs some templates that will fit a machine they have at Stitchery Do that cuts material. She has found a retailer at Rushden, so will have a ride over to see what they have. It will save her cutting all the material for the blind, by hand., and save her a lot of work. Then she will have the job of sewing them all together. (BETTER HER THAN ME) ;-) ;-) ;-)
You certainly slept well Gill and Mel, not like some of us, I must add. !!!
I have beed sitting nice and quiet reading my book, when Ros desended on me to look on line for these blooming templates.
Did I mention that my DIL (Fran) has broken her ankle in three places and is in hospital, after a nasty fall. My nephew has been in touch, my sister knocked her water over again last night at 1.00 am, so he had to go round and sort her out again. How he manages his business as well as her I don't know. His brother doesn't seem to come to help out, only pops in twice a week.
I have spoken to Simon, to ask him and Sally out for a meal for his Birthday. It's the Friday 19th July, so I wanted to take them out on the Saturday 20th. He has,or rather Sally has, invited a lot of her friends over for the evening, as she hasn't seen them for some time. What a day to do that. !!! So I will make other arrangements to suit him.
Time for a COT. I see we haven't seen Jane yet today, so hope she is alright. <3 <3 <3

Afternoon All,
Lovely sunshine but a bit hot for me so I'm inside for a while.
Lovely photos AnnG. I had to do a double take with the adorable Inara as her hair colour is just the same as my sister's was at her age. Her strong willed temperament seems the same as my sister's was too! lol You have also given me a hankering to visit the Lake District again with your photos of the lovely scenery. I think Bassenthwaite was where we stayed last which was many years ago now. Your garden is looking great with all the flowers and the Petunias are looking really good and such a variety.
I slept like a log the last few nights but I think some beasties have got in through the open window as I've found 3 bites, two on my face and one on the back of my wrist, yet I have hardly been up the garden. The one on my wrist is the size of a 50p piece already so I hope the ones on my face don't follow suit or I will look a sight! I usually react badly to bites so have been taking antihistamines.
We had a carvery at lunch so OH could go on to a meeting after. As usual we took our newspapers with us and there was no-one else in as it was just before 12.00pm when they serve. I left my paper under my cardie and OH put his on his chair under the table and we left our notice saying we were at the carvery while we went to be served. When we got back OH's paper had gone and he spotted it opened up a few tables away where someone else had since arrived and gone to the carvery. OH fetched it back and sat reading it. A chap about our age and a lady then came through and the chap stared hard at OH's paper as he walked by and went to his table and said to the woman in a loud voice, 'Someone's pinched MY paper' looking towards us. OH quickly replied in a loud voice that it was his, as he had paid for it. The man seemed taken aback, changed his tune and said he was sorry and didn't want any trouble. OH calmly said there wouldn't be any trouble and pointed to where he had even marked the paper at the top with his initials. The chap then tried to say he thought it had been left which it clearly hadn't been, and which OH ignored, but fancy him standing and loudly accusing OH of pinching it off him, when it was him who had pinched it off OH in the first place!!
I had a shock this morning looking at the local news as a 92 year old had been stabbed to death at a bungalow in the road where I used to live in the bungalow in my avatar!!! It seems they arrested a man at the address who had the same surname as the 92 year old and was in his 40s. An elderly lady was present. I didn't recognise the name but it's 19 years since I lived there. It sounds like it may be some awful family tragedy.
How is your tooth now Gill? Is it healing nicely and great not to have that awful pain?
I hope you got a better sleep Vera as I have some night's with as little sleep and am like a zombie the next day. It's good your OH is seeing some improvement at least and can move around at home.
Mel, that's what they do isn't it! lol. Interrupt what you are doing and then you never get back to it or lose the will! I had to smile at the name BORIS for the Blackbird as that was what my first OH was called when I met him. It was only after a couple of months that I found out it was a nickname. :-) It's so annoying when you drop a tiny nut or screw, they roll much further than you expect. I try to get OH to do things like that over a tray now and I think he's gradually learning. I was going to suggest painting the hands of the clock, but Gill beat me to it. :-)

Oh Mel, that horrid getting sticky stuff on your sock. No wonder you couldn't see it on the floor. lol
Frank I meant to say that the blind Ros is making sounds like a work of art to make with all those pieces. It would be nice to see a pic of it when she's done it if you know how to download your photos now.
Yes, I hope Jane is managing ok. It must take ages to do anything and be frustrating though. I expect the exercise regime is tiring too. I wonder if Fitz is managing alright and whether his wife has taken time off work till he can cope on his own.

Evening All
What a beautiful day.I had a little walk this morning along the road with Chris by my side.I did about 200yds.I am feeling it now though . But we shall do the same tomorrow hopefully and I will take a few pics of the 'works' My goodness you should see it. I think we are finding this role reversal a bit difficult .We had words earlier over something really silly. I am sure though that we will get used to it soon. I blooming well hope so :-D :-D
Just watching the Tennis .
Ann,what lovely hearts you made :-D. I hope the smell is not too overpowering.
I am being called as dinnner is ready, but I think I shall eat on my knee so I can carry on watching the tennis.

Great minds think alike then Mel with me and your OH. Could you paint the hands by hand while they are attached to the clock, if you have a fine paint brush, it would save taking them off if they are only small? So you had sticky toes and just after you'd had your shower to. At least you found it and could clean it up.
Yes, Sandra loved the cats to and thought they were very cute AnnG. We used to have three cats, but sadly they have all gone now.
My gum is healing nicely now thanks Ann, it was only a small hole so hasn't taken to long, hopefully it'll be fully healed soon. Fancy that man having a go at your OH for taking HIS OWN PAPER BACK. The cheeky man. Good on your OH for telling him he'd paid for it. Maybe now he'll think twice about pinching other people's property. I love the hearts you made, they're very pretty.
Sorry to hear about Fran Frank, her nephew sounds a lovely man helping her out at 1am in the morning, pity his brother doesn't help like that. Did Ros sort out the template she needed for the sewing machine, it sounds like it'll save her a lot of cutting out by hand. I'd love to see a picture when she's finished it if you take one.
I hope all is okay with Jane today and she slept better last night. Thinking of you Jane <3 <3
I've just woken up after a couple of hours sleep. I only had a few hours of broken sleep with it being so hot last night, I was tossing and turning most of the night and didn't really settle until around 6am which is why I didn't wake up until 10am. Hopefully we can have an early night tonight with OH not having to wait up to take any tablets, he finished them last night. So with a bit of luck my body clock will return to normal again soon.
I'm looking forward to seeing if our garden solar lights come on tonight, we're not expecting much as they haven't been out in the sun long, but so long as they work eventually we'll be happy. I have another 8 boxes of them which I'll put out if the first box work. With having them put away for 2 years we're not sure if the batteries will charge now. Finger's crossed they will. I've put some around the water fall, in the hope they'll light it up, if it does it'll be nice to see the water running in the evenings when it's going dark. Plus we're hoping to be able to see the hedgehog better in the light, they're not to bright because they are colour changing, so it shouldn't frighten the hog away.

We posted at the same time Jane :-) I see you've managed a bit of a walk, the fresh air will do you good and walking will help you're recovery to. I'm sure everyone will get used to the role reversal soon. My OH found it difficult not being able to do much after his op, but realises that it wouldn't of done him any good to do to much to soon, he still can't lift anything heavy for a couple of months and I'm having to do a lot of the things he normally does, so we know how you all feel. Sandra sends get well wishes and is pleased you liked her card <3

That was good that you managed a little walk Jane, it sounds like you are making good progress! :-) It makes massive changes when they start these big building projects doesn't it! The 4000+ houses one the other end of the village is well on the way now and the extra cars mean I can't park at our local Co-op anymore or in the village centre. OH read out tonight that another with 3000 homes are being built 3 miles away where I went for the carriage ride from a few years ago with a friend. It's being built on the fields where the horse was being kept. I look forward to seeing your pics. It looks like you never got my Get Well card, although I posted it with one for Fitz first class at the beginning of last week. I wonder if they both went astray somewhere? How is he doing now? At this rate you will soon be able to meet halfway between you! :-D If it's any consolation I think OH's idea of looking after me would be sitting chatting to me and getting me cups of tea!! lol. He would think everything else could wait........hmmm!!! :-S
I'm off to bed now to watch tv and have an early night as it's beading tomorrow! Hope you all sleep better tonight.

So nice to hear how you are getting on Jane and the little walk each day will strengthen you muscles. I don't think oh's realize just how much us women do do. Except Frank of course, bless him.
What a todo with G's newspaper Ann!! I'm glad he stood up for himself and got it back. Was your meal nice today?
we were out in the garden today and a buzzard was just up gliding on th eair currants and the sun was shining and showing all it feathers up so I rushed in to get my camera and by the time I got back out there it had gone. :-S Oh sai9d you would never get a picture like that again. Dave was mowing the field next to us and oh saw a hare and called me but I could'nt see it. He has eyes that see everything. I suppose its to do with him being a game keeper once and knowing the signs to look for. He tried totell me to look through the gap in our tree at the side but I was looking through the wrong gap!!.
I spoke to Dave and took him a cold drink which he was very glad of being out there on the tractor in the blazing sun. He also mentioned the hare and I said I had missed it.
A bit later I was looking across the mown field and saw the buzzard on the ground and did manage to get a pic. He's a BIG boy or girl. Oh will tell me when he sees the pic what sex it was as he says the females are larger than the males and lighter I think.
I have suddenly come over rather hot and have to go outside to cool down.........

Hot flush Mel?
Great photos, unusual moth as well.
Jane well done on your walk little and often and you will get stronger. I mentioned the role reversal problem to OH and asked how he would cope. He thought a minute (I meant meals as he does not cook) and the he said, “but, but it wouldn’t be role reversal would it? Because I would still be hoovering and ironing”.
Annx does the restaurant where you have the carvery have free newspapers? Maybe the man thought G’s paper was a free one. Cheeky if he didn’t though.

I spent the first 12 years of my life in Portland Road. A few hundred yards away
was Dampneys Paint Factory.. My Mother worked in the distemper part of that

the passage of time British Paints became Berger Chemicals.
It closed and stood empty for a long time. It's now student accomodation.

Morning David, morning all
Sunny again here today, some of the lights didn't work last night but with the extra sun today we're hoping they all work tonight. I had the best nights sleep in a long time, I think it's because things are finally getting back to normal. I need to ring the dentist for OH to have the rest of the broken tooth taken out today, he said he could probably managed getting in and out of the dentist chair now and the tooth is giving him some pain so needs to be seen to. He's back driving now, but not as much as before, he's gone shopping with Sandra so she can carry the heavier bags while I ring the dentist, I can't ring them until after 9am so will do that once I've posted here.
Nice to see you again David, it's been a while. Interesting story you posted there. Hope all is well with you and your OH.
Love the pics Mel, the moth looks like a leaf. Pity you didn't get the photo of the buzzard in flight, that would of been a lovely one to keep. You never know you may have the chance again one day.
It sounds like there's a lot of work going on with the new housing estate Jane, I bet you'll be glad when it's all finished. Have you had another little walk? How is Fitz getting on, has he had little walks to? I hope his OH is looking after him and not down the gym all the time.
That's the thing Ann with new housing estates, the traffic. Most people have more than one car in their family so the roads become more and more busy. What are you making at beading class today? I wonder what happened to your get well card. Sandra always worries her cards aren't going to make it through the post and is pleased as punch when you all let her know they've arrived. I hope it hasn't got lost and Jane receives it soon.
Hope everyone is okay and the aches and pains are improving. How is your OH now Vera?
Well, I'd better go, it's gone 9am so I can ring the dentist for OH now. I should of changed my original appointment for him when I had my tooth out the other week, as it's today I should of had it taken out. Never mind I'm sure they'll fit him in with him being in pain. He has a sharp piece with he says is catching on his tongue, so it really needs to come out.

Morning all,
There's more white cloud inthe sky this mroning but its bright and dry.
Gill hope G gets an appointment to have his tooth removed then he should be more comfortable. Its horrid when a tooth catches on your tongue as I have had that. I even filed it down a bit with a nail file till I could get to the dentists.
Hope Bob is still improving with each day and can walk a little further and that Vera is managing to get some sleep.
How is T's cough now AnnG? How many cards did you make yesterday?
Friday again just where are these weeks going?
I watched the first of Kirstie's craft programs last nigh and a bit of the second one. Did'nt really think much of the desk tidies made in cement. Like one of the judges said it looked like something a six year old would bring home. I don't think its really my kind of thing and shall look forward to the Christmas ones.

Good morning all, Nice to see you David. When I worked in the City, our company had lots of dealings with BERGER PAINTS. Small world. lol lol
Ros is also at the dentist this morning, she has been nursing a tooth ache for a few days now. She thinks it's because when the dentist did a filling it was packed to tight. She will soon find out later.
Valerie Barker flys to Paris today with old friends of hers and Sids. She staying there a couple of days, then going on a cruise around the Med. for TEN DAYS. So I hope she enjoys herself. I have never seen a woman who does as much as she does since she lost her husband. She belongs to everything in the village, including a WINE CLUB. (she likes her wine) lol She goes on every trip with Stitchery Do and is always out shopping. GOOD LUCK TO HER. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Good on you Jane, getting out for a while will do you good, it will strengthen your muscles, and the fresh air will do you good. Be careful if you are sitting out ub the sun, DON'T get burnt. But with all the tennis on TV, I expect you will be in doors more than out !!!
Some people do have a lot of front don't they Ann, fancy accusing OH that he had pinched the other blokes Paper, when it was the other way round. I think he would have got a mouthful f had been me, and perhaps offered him the price of a paper. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Pity you couldn't get a good shot (photo) of the hare and Buzzaed Mel, we get lots of "RED KITES" over here, souring high on the thermals. They were released into Rockingham Forest a few years ago. They are now wide spread across the area. I have seen them down the M1 as well as the M 4 & 5.
Iffy sort of night agin, still awake at 1.30 am and woke again at 5.35 am. I did drop of for a while about 8.00, but was up by nine. All showered and ready for whatever the day holds for me. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Be good, see you later. xxxx

Just went out down the steps of the conservatory, that Barry repaired last weekend, and they are as loose as anything. In fact down right dangerous. I will get Ros to get a bag of ready mix, and I will do them myself. "If a job wants doing, do it yourself." OLD but very true. !!!
I forgot to mention your toothache Gill.I hope it is feeling better, and that the dentist can remove that broken tooth for OH. I gives me toothache just thinking about it. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I have decided not to cook tonight, so will take Ros to one of our eateries around 4.30 this afternoon, and have a bite out. Might even sit outside if there is a free table.
Have taken the pie into Tony, I asked how Val was and he says, she is not going into a care home, but will come home sometime next week, and have help from the district nurse. He will have his hands full. I have offered our help if he needs it, so wait and see. xx

OH's just left to go to the dentist I got him an appointment for 12.10pm so hopefully it'll be sorted and he'll be in less discomfort. My gum is healing nicely and it's lovely not to be in pain anymore, the only problem I have is my bottom tooth hits the gum at the top on the good side, so that is now a bit swollen and sore. I'm going to try some Bonjela on it. Once I can eat properly on the side the tooth was taken out the other side should be okay and settle down. It's a good job I rang the dentist for OH as the appointment he did have for 5 days times should of been cancelled as the dentist has fell off her horse and broken some ribs so isn't in work at the moment, had I not rang the dentist we would never of known the dentist he was going to see wouldn't of been there. I wouldn't mind but an elderly couple turned up for their appointment when I had my tooth out and was told they'd have to make another appointment as they were suppose to be seeing the poorly dentist to, so why they didn't tell me about OH's appointment then I don't know. Never mind he's there now and hopefully will be in less pain later when the tooth has been taken out.
I didn't know Kirstie was back on Mel, I like her programmes so have now popped it on my planner, I might watch the other episodes on Catch up later. I'm thinking of baking a cake today, but I've just been doing some gardening and I'm very hot, putting the oven on might not be a good idea at the moment. I'll see how I feel after I've cooled down, I'm sitting by the fan at the moment.
That was nice of you to offer to help Val and Tony Frank, no doubt he'll ask for help, as I can't see him doing much for himself or Val. Valerie Barker sounds like she's having lots of fun, she doesn't let the grass grow under her does she? Good on her. Enjoy your meal out later, hope the weather stays nice so you can eat outside.
Sandra fancies some quiche, I've got some small individual ones in the freezer so will cook those later to go with the salad she's just made. She also wants some individual pizza's that are in the freezer as well, so it looks like the oven is going to go on after all ;-) ;-)
Right I've cooled down now so will go and bake a cake, OH is going to want to eat soft food today, so he'll enjoy a slice of cake or two or three lol. :-D :-D

I broke an egg this morning and popped it in a bowl in the fridge as I thought I may make a cake today too so great minds think alike.
Sounds like sid's Val is enjoying herself. Its nice she goes to all these places as it must be lonely for her now. Hope she has a lovely time on holiday.
Fancy the steps coming lose after Barry did them for you!! Not like him as he usually does you a good job with other things. You be careful doing the steps we don't need any mishaps.
Where's our Mandy? Hope she is ok as we hav'nt heard from her. Hope Colin is better now too or perhaps Mandy has it now?
