Morning Gill and all,
We have a dry day but there is an awful strong wind worse than yesterday. It blew my peas in a pot over and they have six foot canes in them. they are up by the house on the decking. All my plants on the patio are reaching towards the north with this wind.
I had an email from Jane after her op and did'nt look at my mail yesterday. It all went well and she was dying for a cuppa but only aloud sips of water.
How's Bob this mroning Vera, hope he is getting better slowly.
Frank did you sleep well last night? I bet the garden looks dapper now Lewis has mowed the lawns for you. Its like if you hoover in the house it all looks much better even if you hav'nt dusted or tidied up.
I have little tomatoes on my two plants now. I have trained one right along the front window of my shed. If they had been outside they would have been blown over by now.
Wonder what Ann will do at beading today? Will she have to show the angel she maid to her friend and I wonder if the friends worked out ok too.
Have to go and get mower petrol today so BBL.

Good morning Gill, Mel, and all.
Lovely morning here also with a fair breeze. Ros has changed the bed and washed everything.I took the basket of washing from the kitchen, through to the back door. I slide the basket down the steps of the conservatory, but carried it down the steps from the patio to the lawn. GOOD JOB I was carrying the basket, as I lost my footing, and managed to shove the basket into the arch, which gave me time to recover my footing. Besides feeling a bit shaky all is fine.
Yes, Lewis did a wonderful job on the roof and lawn. Ros offered him some food. He said I will have a NANNY'S SPECIAL, which consists of HAM, Cheese, onion and tomato. He had TWO ROUNDS. I approached the subject of what he wants for his 21 birthday in September. He would like a gold signet ring, with the CREST of the BEDFORD coat of arms engraved on it. I am afraid that will be far to expensive for our pockets. The ring alone is almost £1,000.00 then the engraving on top. He does have expensive tastes. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Ros said to him that he, Harvey and Conrad, need to make sure the bungalow is kept in good order, as he will get a third of the sale when we pass away. He said. "THERE IS NO WAY I WILL LET IT BE SOLD" This bungalow, has many childhood memories, that I want to keep. How nice was that.
No Mel, Another iffy night. I stayed up and watched Piers Morgan, went to bed and listened to the radio for a while. When after two hours I was still wide awake, I went into the lounge and read for an hour. I was awake again by 6.00 am.
Gill, I am glad you had your tooth pulled without too much discomfort. Hows OH this morning. No more problems with the dressings I hope.
I remember 40 years plus ago. when we set off for Cornwall, it was always late at night, and would arrive at our destination around 6/7.00 am. We then would cook breakfast on a calor gas cooker, and make a pot of tea. Have a sleep on a beech and go to the accommodation around 2.00 pm. Those were the days before Motorways, when you had to drive through all major towns on your journey.
So you got home safe and sound AnnG. I bet it was lovely to get into your own bed again, I know I do.
I have had an Email from the Fathers day fiasco at the restaurant. They are offering us and Harvey and Lewis a FREE SUNDAY LUNCH. I have asked them if we can take a "RAIN CHECK" on the date, as we need to know when Harvey and Lewis is going to be available. We also had a very apologetic letter from TOBY, but no offer of free meal. lol lo.
I saw on the local newspaper site, that one of our favourite late lunch places has been given ZERO for health and cleanness by the local authority. That came as such a surprise, as we are always impressed with the door and service and cleanness . I don't think it will stop us going there, you have to speak as you find, as they say.
I expect Jane is GALLOPING around the ward by now. <3 <3 <3 Seriously, I hope she hasn't had any bad effects from the operation. xxx
Ros has just gone off to have her Hair done, I expect she will be out for a good two hours.
I need to get the steaks out of the freezer for tonight. I can prepare the rest of it later.
Have a good day and stay safe and well. xxxx

Oh went in the hot tub just now and I had put a blow up shark in there!! He did'nt know.
He said what with the ring and the shark there was'nt enough room for him to get in there!! Silly boy he managed it though with plenty of room.
Sorry you had a bad night Frank but the free meal sounds ok.

You do like to wind up you OH Mel. I think he was shocked to see that.
I have defrosted the steaks, done mushrooms, onion and chips. Tomato will go on the griddle pan after the steaks.I have also made Ros her peppered sauce.
Being what I thought would help, I went to get all the washing in and folded up. As I went through that Bl@@dy arch I lost my footing again, and just managed to grab the washing line, as I was running down the lawn. Anyway it's all dry, and folded up in the basket, ready for when Ros wants to do the ironing.
Ros heard last night, that one of our best customers, when we had the shop, has passed away. I sometimes see her son, when I go to the pub on Saturdays, but not going out I doubt I will see him, to pass on our sympathy.
What a cracking afternoon it is now. That breeze has dropped, and it's very warm. I'm just in a pair of shorts, trying to stay cool.
No sign of Ros yet, so I don't know where she has got too. Her hair was at 12.00, It's now 2.45. I bet she's popped into Tesco or somewhere.
I am going to rest and read my book now, and try to stay off my legs. !!!

Afternoon All,
Glorious sun today but it was a bit hot by lunchtime in my friend's conservatory. She was wearing the T shirt she'd block printed using a doyley as a stencil and it looked smashing and the pink she did it with matched her cardie spot on. :-D I finished my bag so will see if I can send a pic.My friend I did the Angel/Fairy with has done about half of hers now. Another of the ladies managed to get a cancellation at another workshop tomorrow where we went to do the Angels a few weeks ago, so it will be good to see what she has made next week. I also came home with a plant that has round cucumbers so need to get that planted.
I'm glad you heard from Jane Mel as I was wondering whether to ring Chris or not. I liked the prank you played on OH with the shark. It's the sort of trick I would play on OH!
Lewis was good doing the lawns and roof Frank. I hope he wasn't in his Sunday best! Now Barry can just finish off with the other jobs you want doing and everything will be good. You really must get something done so you have something to hold onto in the garden though to stop these falls and near misses or you will do yourself a nasty injury one of these days.Could you get a rail fixed like AnnG has? It's good you have free meal from the place you got such bad service at. I watched the Piers interview with Paris the psychopath too. A cool customer with dead eyes wasn't he.
I hope AnnG's hearing test was good. I must look up when I had my last one which was borderline. I'm sure I have the sound a bit higher on the telly now as well.
I bet Lewis was excited about his first Sports Day Mandy and pleased to see you watch him. Thanks for the tip about Aldi and the fat quarters they may have. I will try and pop in tomorrow. I looked in The Works, but they hadn't got the fat quarters they used to have, just some very small squares of fabric which might just about do. I must have a root through my stuff to see if I have any lace too. I bet the children are looking forward to being in your pool tomorrow. Will you be having a dip too? I noticed the hot tub next door was bubbling away when I got home today.
I'm glad the tooth and the trouble it was causing have gone now Gill. It was sensible to sit for a few minutes before you walked home and good for Sandra to see that it wasn't too bad to have done. It may make her a bit less fearful too. I hope your hubby isn't too sore and what a scare you had with him having to go back to the hospital with the bleeding. Thankfully it wasn't the stitches though and he should soon be much better although he must watch he doesn't do too much......it's easy to forget and go to lift things too soon without thinking.

Good evening folks
A lovely day here today though it’s been a bit hot this afternoon.
What a scare you had with OH Gill. I’m glad that it didn’t turn out to be too serious. I expect you are pleased to be rid of that horrid old tooth. It might be a bit sore for a day or two but then you won’t get any more trouble with it. Sandra sounds a real sweetie.
Frank, you must stop all this slipping and sliding on the steps or you might go down with a real wallop and then be laid up for a while. Have you got rails to hold onto? What about those things like little rubber mats that go on the treads and help if they’re a bit slippy? The only other suggestion is that you take more water with it, lol.
Lewis is a good lad to do the jobs for you. We use that Wet & Forget on our paving. It works out a lot cheaper than the £400 we paid to have it cleaned when we first moved here and works just as well. It needs doing again but it will be a while before OH is up to it I think.
You do make me laugh Mel. Your poor OH must wonder what you are going to do next. I hope he enjoyed sharing the tub with a shark :-D. Is it helping his aches and pains?
I’d love to see a pic of your bag Ann. I know I’ve said it before but I am so in awe of all you clever people.
How did the sports day go Mandy? I bet the youngsters had a great time
Glad you got home safely AnninG. You have been busy since you got back. Did you get your new hearing aids?
I’m really pleased that everything seems to have gone well for Jane. Only a few sleeps and she will be home again. If you’re looking in Jane, I was thinking of you all yesterday and wish you a very speedy recovery.
OH seems a bit better today. He’s eating normally and the painkillers are keeping him fairly comfortable. He won’t be running a marathon any time soon but he is moving a little more freely, even if it is only moving from one room to another.
I have been going mad trying to sort out insurance claim forms. The insurance company want a complicated medical certificate filled in by our GP at our cost. That would be OK but the questions are really only relevant for people who cancelled their holiday before it began, not for people who come home halfway through. I’ve had to write a long letter of explanation to our GP practice. The insurance company have already had two Austrian doctors’ reports.
I dashed to the supermarket this morning and it was packed. Then I met a chap who lives locally. He is 87 and his wife had to go in a home at Christmas. I know he is a bit lonely so we always try to give him some time but I couldn’t get away. He seemed to want me to make the decision whether he should keep his car or not. So in the middle of the supermarket I went over all the pros and cons with him but told him he has to make the decision himself.
That put me well behind so by the time we had lunch and I sorted these claim forms out I just about had time for a bit of deadheading and pot watering before I had to come in and start cooking our dinner. As it’s nearly ready I’d better go and lay the table.

Evening all,
Nice sunny day here and beginning to warm up, we didn't get to see Lewis in his sports day as the poor little chap was sick in the night so no nursery today . Colin is all back to normal now and back on his food .
Thats good you heard from Jane Mel and that her op went well, i expect Fitz has been on his feet today and may even have had a little walk in the ward to see Jane ..
Glad your both ok Gill and you got on ok at the dentist ,Sandra was very good going with you and you must have been pleased she went with you , at least now it's out you won't be getting any more pain .
Oh Frank why don't you get a nice hand rail to go down by the steps this isn't the first time you've gone a cropper down the steps ,some thing you could hold on to would really help, you could have really hurt your self .
Naughty Mel putting a shark in the tub :-D watch out when you get in he might get his own back LOL
Ann if i see any fat quarters in Aldi ,i'll let you know as i should think they all have the same offers on . Is the bag you've made big enough to use for your craft bits and bobs ?
Pleased to see your OH is coming along nicely Vera if a little slowly but he's heading in the right direction .
Should be hot tomorrow so don't forget the sun cream slapped on if your going out in it everyone .

Pleased to see all went well with Jane's operation. Thanks for letting us know Mel. You are funny putting the shark in the hot tub, yes be careful, he'll get his own back on you.
Hope you're okay after your tumble Frank, a handrail would make life easier for you and save all these falls you keep having. Pleased to see the meal situation has been sorted and you can now have a free meal when you're all ready.
I'm so pleased your OH is starting to get about a bit better now Vera. Insurance companies can be a bit awkward where pay outs are concerned, I hope you've managed the forms now and they pay out okay and don't try to get out of it. It can take time, but hopefully it won't take to long.
Yes, Sandra has been great these past few days helping OH and I. I slept for 4 hours this afternoon. I'm not very good with drugs and having the injection yesterday has made me very tired. I seem to be sleeping the clock round at the moment. I hope I feel more awake tomorrow. OH seems to be sleeping a fair bit to. The bleeding seems to have stopped but the bruising is coming out now which he said is a bit sore. He's being very good and not lifting anything heavy, although he does keep getting up and walking around as he said it's a bit uncomfortable sitting down to much. If he can lean forward over the sink tomorrow I'm going to help him wash his hair, he said he wishes he could have a soak in the bath and this hot weather's not helping, so all he can do at the moment is have a flannel wash, at least that's better than nothing I suppose, but he's counting the days until he can have a proper bath, which is just over a weeks time.
We're just watching "When buildings collapse, worlds worse engineering disasters" It's quite scary how these things can happen, where bridges and buildings collapse, because they weren't built properly.

Morning all,
We have a calm day at last but I don't know how long it will last as they forcast more wind for us.
Ann the bag is beautiful and I love the way you have sewn the beads on and it makes it. You like your fish don't you? You did the glass workshop with a fish design and that was good too. Nice church and looks really well looked after. I had a look on Google and it goes back years and years so I don't think it has been added to much. It looks like it has had a coat of Wet and Forget which has cleaned al the stonework up.
We have to go for mower petrol today as we were going yesterday but did'nt get round to it. Then I have the shop for the paper and the egg delivery. I hav'nt seen the boys for three weeks now as I thought they were away the week before last and it was last week so I got all muddled up. Never mind I cooked cakes etc with the eggs anyway and enjoyed some on toast. I usually make sure I have enough for Em, at least a dozen and that I have three for Sundays big breakfast.
Poor G Gill. I bet he will have a lovely soak once he is able to. A good wash down is a good idea and sometimes if I don't want to shower I do that.
Frank hope your not bruised after your little trip yesterday with the washing basket and that you had a better nights sleep last night.
Vera how is Bob doing today. Each day he should feel a bit better now if he is eating ok and moving about a bit. Sending best wishes.
Not heard anymore from our Jane and hope everything is going well for her and Fitz. I wonder if they have managed to see each other yet. It will be nice to visit each other.
Poor little Lewis not being able to go to the sports day. I wonder if it was nerves that made him sick. I hope he is better today.

Good morning to you all,
It hasn't been for me. At 4.10 this morning I woke with terrible stomach pains. Got to the loo and I really had the runs. I didn't dare go back to bed, so sat in the armchair ready to dash when needed. Not a good situation, I managed to get a few zzz during the rest of the night. I have taken some medication that Ros found in the medicine cupboard. That needs a good sorting out. !!! There are things in there that are never ever been opened. Why she bought them I just don't know.
I sent Jane a GET WELL CARD through the computer, so hope she was able to open it on her phone.
Glad to hear your OH is making a good recovery Vera. Lets hope it's the last of that episode. What a palaver with the Insurance Company. They don't like to make things easy for you, do they. ?
Mandy, was it Lewis who was sick in the night, and missed his sports day.?? If it was, I hope he's feeling better.
What nasty work that Paris was. I think that he would have been executed when he was old enough. Fancy him being aloud out in 8 years, when he is likely to kill again.
Gill I hope you OH has/is recovered from his ordeal. Did you get any answers from the hospital. ??
Iv'e had the conservatory door and lounge windows open since 6.00 am. I was just out to the garage and it's getting very warm. So be careful if you are out gardening, DON'T get burnt. :-0 :-0 :-0
Eos thought Carolyn wanted to go to Tesco's this morning, but when Ros rang, John said she had gone. STRANGE.
Not sure when Barry will be here, and how long he can spare me today. Ros wants her ornamental bushes trimmed, as well as the front lawn. (I only did that on Tuesday) It just shows how they grow this weather.
Lewis is coming to do the roof in another three months, as per the instructions on the product. He took great care not to let any of the stuff get on the flowers.
Ros has decided she will of a bit of weeding in the bottom bed this morning. I don't know if she will go to Tesco's later.
I hope everyone is feeling better, for those of you, who have been under the weather.
See you later ALLIGATOR . !!! ;-) ;-) ;-)

Afternoon All,
Are we ll warm enough? Before we set off this morning the car was reading 34 degrees. Phew! I hope Jane is ok and that they have some good fans where she is.......plus spare batteries for her flappy fan!
That's good that your OH is improving Vera and managing to get around gently. Now he's eating he will feel stronger too. I hope you won the battle with your insurance forms. I find so often these days that forms are a 'one size fits all' yet they really don't.
Mel my word those babies are BIG now..........there's hardly enough room for them in the nest and their beady eyes are wide open now. I bet they are noisy when they hear their parents coming with food for them. :-D How old are they now? I must look up that church too. The tower just didn't seem to match the old carved door arches. We called in another today at Stoney Stanton as we saw the door was open! Inside was a very old long chest like a tree trunk hollowed out. OH found a booklet and it said it was a hollowed out oak tree and was the Parish Chest. It said the valuables and church records used to be kept in it and it did have metal bands and locks on it. It said tests had been done and the tree would have been 400 years old when it was felled so dating back to the Norman Conquest.
Gill your tooth will soon heal over the next few days and it's good you and OH are over your ordeals. From what I remember OH was sore for a few days and had to be a bit careful how he moved but then he soon picked up. I also remember the bruising! Now all you can see is a thin white line where the cut was. Did you manage to wash his hair ok?
Thanks for saying you'll let me know if you see fat quarters in Aldi Mandy. What a shame Lewis had to miss his first Sports Day. I bet he was a bit upset about that. Hopefully he's better now though and enjoying the water in your pool if he's brave enough as it is quite a big pool. :-)
Frank I hope you haven't got 'the BUG' too. It's horrid when you daren't stray far from your white friend. I hope your tummy soon settles and that you feel better. How odd Carolyn had gone out. Maybe she forgot all about the arrangement? I bet Barry will be hot today and welcome some cool drink!

Evening all
I've been really busy today, this is the first time I've sat down all day.
Thanks for letting us know about Jane, Mel, that's good she maybe going home tomorrow. Sandra is going to make a Get Well Card which I'll post on Monday so it should arrive while she's home. It's good Fitz is doing well to.
Poor Lewis Mandy, I hope he's feeling better now. Shame he missed his sports day.
How are you feeling now Frank? I hope your tummy has settled.
How is Bob today Vera? I hope he's feeling a little better to.
Love the pictures of the Blackbirds Mel, haven't they grown? Sandra said they look more like birds, now they have feathers.
Love the photo's you sent Ann, what a pretty church, pity it was shut, but at least you both got to see another one. Love the bag, you've done a good job on it.
I had to call mum this morning to take OH to the out of hours surgery at the hospital. He has got a chest infection and thrush in his mouth, so he's on antibiotics and meds for his mouth now. He's not a happy bunny. I hope things improve for him soon, he's had a pretty bad few days and could do with a bit of good luck.
I managed to wash his hair today and he had another flannel wash so feels a bit better. He's still counting the days to having a nice soak in the bath though.
We're not sure what's happening with the wood the builder said we could have, I tried ringing the builder before but got the answer machine, I didn't leave a message as it took me by surprise and I didn't know what to say, so I rang OH's mate who said he'd take me there to pick the wood up, but unfortunately I got his voice mail so I've left him a message. I hoping he can take me tomorrow morning to pick the wood up, but as yet he hasn't rang me back. OH thinks my mum has offered some of the wood to my sister, she has a habit of taking over and she's trying to put me off going around, which we can't work out why. This is why I'd like OH's friend to take me tomorrow while mum's at Church. I might try giving him another call before it gets to late, I might get through this time.
Going to get a Strepsil first, I've still got a sore throat and my gums are a bit sore to, as my bottom teeth are knocking on the gums at the top where there's no teeth,, so I'm having problems eating. I haven't eaten much since I had my tooth out and I seem to have lost my appetite to.

Neither my mum or sister knew about the wood until the builder mentioned it to mum. He had already promised it to us by then. Mum has always favoured my sister over me and whether my sister needed or wanted the wood she would take it anyway just because it's been given to me. Even though it hurts when my family treat me like this, I'm starting to get used to it now.
I managed to get in touch with OH's mate, he's away at the moment and is back Monday evening so he's going to take me to get the wood on Tuesday. I just hope mum hasn't given it all away to my sister, or anyone else by then.
I had to ring mum this morning for help with OH as his other mate was busy all day today and even though she did take OH to the hospital apparently she did nothing but complain the whole time they were there, saying that she could of put her washing on the line or had a shower. Poor OH said she made him feel like he was being a nuisance. We didn't have anyone else to ask for help so poor OH had to listen to her moan the whole time he was waiting to see the doctor. We're hoping we don't need anymore help. I feel embarrassed, with her being my mum and really don't want to ask her for help anymore. I really hope things improve for OH, it's been quite a stressful few days.
Sorry for moaning, I'm just feeling a bit down at the moment and the way mum is behaving isn't helping. I wouldn't mind but she offered to help, so why she makes us feel like we've done something wrong by asking her for help, I don't know. I've not been eating or sleeping very well for over a week now and my sore throat and mouth isn't helping me feel any better. Hopefully things will improve soon. I'll feel a lot better when OH is healed properly and things get back to normal.

There was'nt any room in the nest either and the pic before the last you could see one bird out of the nest to the left of the picture.
