Afternoon Everyone
Muggy Muggy weather too here. Its not nice. There are a few drops of rain too now .
Vera, I am really sorry to hear that OH is still so poorly . Maybe it will be a trip back to hospital for him. Something is obviously up.Hope the Dr comes out very soon to see him and i hope that whatever is causing his pain and sickness is soon sorted. <3 Thank you for you wishes .3 more sleeps. I had my last bath for 3 months this morning,as I will need to shower the next few days with this Hibiscrub.
I did the last big shop too this morning. Meals sorted for tonight ,tomorrow and Wednesday then I will be passing over all duties to Chris and James :-D
James arrived just before 8 Gill last night. He said it was all down to traffic jams and major works on the M11 near Cambridge.
Frank, what beautiful kittens :-D :-D.. I have fallen in love :-D. I havent managed to open the video on the laptop so will see if I can see it on my mobile . Mel all your pics are downloading, but again I might have to see them on my phone. There is something wrong with my laptop which mucks up pics that come through on email. They only come through partially sometimes with a big grey screen thing covering the rest of the pic. That meal sounded really good yesterday . Shame about Ros's spud but good that she had another to replace it.
Mandy , I hope OH's tummy bug hasn't spread to you or anyone else.I see you have been spared making the Unicorn Cake :-D As you said you didn't want to risk it with tummy bugs in the house. Is your DIL getting a Unicorn cake ,or will it have to be something different?
Time for lunch

Afternoon All,
Just lost a post as I finished it so this will be a short one. Edit, not so short after all. lol It was raining here when I got up and I couldn't believe my eyes when I drew the curtains.........Mrs O, with a cloth in each Marigold was wiping the rain off the window frames as it landed on them!!
I hope your hubby soon gets sorted out when the doc has been Vera. It's miserable to have so much pain as he has had the past week. Rest up yourself when you can too. <3
Jane the past few weeks seem to have flown by. :-0 Soon both Fitz and you will start being free of pain though and recovering which is good.
Frank those kitties are beauties! I asked before but are they British or Russian Blues? They are so cute and I bet they are running amok playing with each other. I couldn't open the video but got a list of pics of them. That's good the shower is behaving again and before you got the new one too. Let's hope it stays ok now.
Thanks for your pics Mel. The hog looks really fit eating from your bowl and those baby birds are growing so fast! That Chaffinch is a lovely colour too. The scarecrows are BRILLIANT!! I did laugh as they look like 2 old men having a chinwag!! :-D :-D I have been saving some of the Pinterest videos of felting too as you do find some useful tips as you say. How are you doing finishing the Christmas Tree........looking forward to seeing it.
I hope Colin soon gets rid of the bug Mandy. OH still isn't quite right and feels quite bloated and rumbly at times so I think it is quite a bad one. Good idea to keep the cake rather than risk any bugs escaping to the children with it! Now you can eat it yourselves. :-D
Gill you seem to be doing well with OH's tree and yes, it is sad what short lives some lived in the past so it's always worth checking the deaths.
I wonder where AnnG will be on her travels today? Is the ankle fully fit again now Ann?
I'm off to the private hospital on my own tonight 7.40pm appt. I may be having a biopsy but should be ok to drive home if so. OH said he would come with me but he has a first meeting where he is going and didn't want to cry off which I can understand (first impressions and all that!) so I told him to go.
I may call at Primark on the way home as I need something cotton like a T shirt as we are doing block printing with fabric paint at the free class on Wednesday. They are cheap at Primark and I took all my old ones to the charity shop after Christmas. It's something I have never done before so should be interesting.:-S

I wonder if there is any news on Vera's Bob yet. I do hope they can do something to releive the pain he is in and find out just what is actually wrong with him. Sending best wishes to you both Vera. <3
Ann I hav'nt touched the tree again yet but may do something with it this afternoon if I don't go up the border which needs a lot of tieing up with all the rain we have had lately. Its very muggy here now too. I did find three red flowerpots that I thought may do for the trees if I make more than the one. Hope you find a t shirt that you can work on and perhaps wear afterwards and we shall all want to see it.
I made the scarecrow with the white hair and beard. That was a wig Di got for me from the big house someone had left there. I cut the top out and put the hat over the hole and made the beard from the rest. Thats my old gardening hat he is wearing and oh's overalls and my old wellies.
I was quite surprised to see the feathers had come through on most of the Blackbird chicks as they had'nt yesterday. The parents are still busy collecting great beaks full of worms and look funny with them all hanging out of their beaks but they seem to fold them up which I thought quite clever. I shall have to see if I can get a pic of that.
O Jane just three more sleeps eh? Hope it all goes well for Fitzy first and give him my wishes please and of course I wish you all the best for your op too. We will soon have you back with us won't we. We do miss you all when you go away for whatever reason and its nice that Frank AnnG and vera all got in touch while away.

hard the forecast at lunchtime and it's not good weather for lawn mowing, so I did the silly thing and got the mower out. I did the front lawn without too much trouble, but when I started the back one, it was just too much. I managed about six up and downs, and just had to leave it.
I am just going get a shower and put some shorts on. Then nothing until dinner tonight which isn't difficult. Pork ribs in the oven with Jacket pots, and curried beans.
I have decided I am just not able to do strenuous jobs anymore. My back, shoulders and legs are just about ready to pack up. :-P :-P :-P :-P

Tony had a really bad night coughing ending up sleeping on the settee in the lounge. I obviously also had a bad night so we decided not to do anything too strenuous today. It is very overcast but warm and humid. We drove to Bardsea to the country park alongside the Morecombe bay estuary, a bit further along than Conishead priory. We walked a little way along the shore to take photos, although again the tide was out, we were watching two horses being cantered along the Sands. We could only assume the riders knew where the quicksands are. Next we went to the priory for coffee and then had a walk round to the Kadampa Temple for World Peace. In this temple is the Manjushri Kadampa meditation centre. Their philosophy is all about inner peace. I liked this quote that I saw in a booklet there. “If something can be remedied why be unhappy about it? And if the is no remedy for it there is still no point in being unhappy.”. The gardens and woodlands are extensive and the many roses near the temple which shines with gold in sunlight, smell and look beautiful. For lunch we went to the local garden centre and had a seniors special. Mine was jacket potato with cheese and freshly cooked ham plus salad and coleslaw. Tony has freshly cooked ham, egg, chips, salad and coleslaw. We both had a 175 glass of white wine and all that came to £20. And it was as much as we could eat. Back then to potter round the house and read.

You naughty boy Frank. I thought you had Barry coming to do the lawns for you?
I have just made a nice plain sponge cake and I am going down the garden to pick some strawberries to put in it with some clotted cream.
Ann I forwarded frank's email to see if you can see the video. It is rather big as were the pictures so you may not still be able to see it.

Frank the hardest part is admitting we can’t do things but it does come to us all and your stroke will have weakened your muscles a bit
Mandy hope the medication helps Colin. Has he tried drinking flat coke? That can help to rehydrate.
Jane not long to wait now, in case I don’t get on for some reason, best wishes for the op we will all be thinking of you.
Mel loved the photos the scarecrow is clever and great to see the Bullfinches, not seen any for years.
Annx hope your appointment tonight goes ok and that you are fine to drive home.
Gill, yes, his cough is lingering. I am so hoping that I don’t get it.
The sun is just about out now. Luckily we have had no rain today.
Vera oh dear we are all worried for your Bob, hope the doctor had some helpful advice to offer. It does sound as if he urgently needs that scan, if only to eliminate kidney stones. I suppose it is not gallstones. Such a coincidence being at the same time as not being able to walk, and all the various medications he has had over the past week.. sending lots of get well wishes to him and thoughts for you too. Hard though it is try and get some rest. And let us know how things are when you can.

I can't get the video of the kittens to work :-( I managed to see all your pics on my phone Mel. Love the 2 Scarecrows :-D :-D.. They look like old friends sat there .
Frank, I think you have said the most sensible thing :-D realising now that certain jobs are just too much for you.I wonder how long you will stick to that ;-).. Barry can do all the heavy work in the garden for you. You have had a nice day out Ann.The Temple and Gardens sounded lovely. It did make my tummy go a bit funny when you said about the horses and quicksands!!!. I dod love to see horses having a good gallop or a canter along a nice long beach. They must love it. I hope that OH doesn't have such a rotten night with the cough again. Is it one of those tickly dry ones or a chesty one? I expect you will bith be needing an early night tonight.
I have been trying out a swivel cushion that Fitz bought to put on the car seat to help get in and out .It is a good idea but I think I will stick to a plastic bag and save £30 :-D.. You should have seen me practising getting in and out of both our cars. I decided that my car is slightly easier than Chris's ,so he will bring my car to get me home from the hospital. I see the temperature is going to soar when I go in :-S,maybe into the 30's :-0.. That will not be fun. No aircon and possibly no fans.I have my nice hand flappy one ready to go in my bag :-D
Thomas has had his flea treatment this afternoon and once again somehow knew it was coming and hid under the welsh dresser. So he is all done for worms and fleas now (much to Chris's relief ) as I know it would be a disaster if it was him and James trying to do it lol .
It is little Williams 7th birthday today !!!!. He is growing up so fast now and is a delight. I just always think how sad it is that his Mum died when he was just 3 months old .I think she would be so proud of Michel knowing what a fantastic Dad he is. They move house tomorrow and finally William will have a lovely garden to play in.It looks really nice and it backs onto fields.
Hannah and Gareth go to Carcassonne in France on Wednesday and it is looking to be far too hot in the 40's possibly :-S. That is ridiculous. I can see she will just be happy to stay by the pool :-D
I wonder what is happening with Vera and OH .It must be such a terrible worry for them both. I shall be thinking of them .

Hallo again Thanks for all the photos and videos.
Mel I haven’t seen a bullfinch for several years and the hog looks very happy with his bowlful. As for those kittens........they are gorgeous Frank. I want one :-)
I hope OH’s cough eases a bit tonight so you can both get some rest AnninG.
Mandy I hope your OH’s tummy is calming down now. I find Imodium quite good. You’re wise not to do the unicorn cake. It would probably be alright but it is not worth taking the risk.
Did your hospital appointment go OK Ann?
Thank you all for your concern for OH. I appreciate your friendship and support. Doctor came by midday but there wasn’t a lot he could do that the hospital hadn’t already done, particularly as the stomach pains had subsided. He offered anti-sickness drugs but OH said he didn’t want more drugs and the doctor respected that. Doctor didn’t think it was a kidney stone but mentioned the possibility of a blocked bowel though, without going into details, OH didn’t think it was that. The upshot was that I should keep an eye on OH and call an ambulance if the stomach pain comes back.
He has only had water all day today. He slept for a couple of hours this afternoon. As he hasn’t had any anti inflammatories or painkillers since yesterday his back and leg are hurting quite badly so I dashed to the chemist just before they closed and got some heat pads and we have put one over the buttock muscle that is causing all the trouble in the hope that it will relax a bit. We put it on at 6 pm and this particular sort shouldn’t stay on for more than 8 hours so I shall have to set the alarm and get up just before 2 am to remove it, so it will be another disturbed night.
Another bit of bad news today came from my brother. He has to have another, even more major, operation. This will be in two to three weeks if the team decide he is strong enough to take it. If not ???? who knows what will happen.
That’s enough of my miseries for one night. I think I’ll have a last check on OH and then read in bed for a while. I hope we have a bit of a storm soon to lift this heavy, muggy air.
Night, night

Vera I hope oh and yourself can get a bit of sleep tonight. Have you got a hot water bottle you could use, it would save you having to check the time to be able to take it off of him. I use the wheat bags and still have one on my knees at night. I usually find it on the floor in the morning. I just wish my oh would have aheat pad on but he is very stubbon and won't have that or a hotwater bottle or even my wheat bags. I have about three of them.
AnnG hope oh's cough will be easier tomorrow and he too get some sleep tonight. Coughs always seem to come back at night.

Morning all,
Skies a bit cloudy but it is also quite a bright morning so far.
I do hope Vera and hubby got some sleep last night and that Anng's T cough is a little better. Also Colin's tum has settled down now.
Well its come around again, Donkey Day. I am surprised at how the weeks are passing this year. No sooner do I fill the fridge than its time to go again to refresh it.
I had two hogs at the food bowl last night again and the lighter coloured one pushed the darker one off the food twice rolling her up in a ball and when she sneaks away she goes down the garden towards the old gate into next doors field. The lighter one goes under the decking between the two ponds.

My OH took a Sudafed pill before bed and, as on Saturday night it knocked him out all night and he hardly coughed. Sunday night he wouldn’t take one, like me he hates medication. But being the lesser of two evils he capitulated which was good for both of us. I never even have these in the house, they are bought be daughter.
Hope everyone else is ok and not had too much rain, from the internet it looks as though we had heavy rain at home, I don’t think we have had any here though.

We won't be going to the birthday tea so Lacey will have her card and presents later in the week.
The Sudafed sounds as if it works for your OH AnnG ,where are you off to today?
Lovely photo's Mel you can see the blackbirds change every day .
No storms over night but it did start to rain about five or six this morning ,quite heavy at times and we've just had a loud clap of thunder .

Good morning to you good folk, xxx
Horrible rainy day here. It started last night and I think it rained all night. It's still peeing down now.
I was in bed at 8.00 pm laid and read and finished my book by 10.35. I put my head round the lounge door and Ros was watching her Jewellery Programmes. I had an excellent night sleep, got out once, and slept until 7.45. I woke with a stinking headache, which I have had on and off since my STROKE. The Doctors have said it's normal, but I still don't like them.
Glad you all liked the kittens. They are ENGLISH BLUES. I believe the cost is around £400/500 each. So Harvey will have to be very careful they don't get out, like the last one did. We will have the ENVIOUS JOB of looking after them, when Harvey goes down to France in August. All doors and windows will be shut, and bared while they are in residence. ;-) ;-) ;-) I would never forgive myself if anythng happened on my WATCH.
Vera, I do hope your OHs medication is starting to react to his condition. It must be soooo worrying, not knowing what it actually is, that's affecting him. My thoughts are with you. xxx
Not long now Jane. Does Fitz go in today, and you tomorrow. ?? Yes I think a plastic bag will work just as well as a swivel seat, and at no COST. Again my thoughts and prayers are with you, xxx
How is Colin today Mandy. With all thats going on, it's difficult to know who is well and who's not. lol lol I hope it hasn't affected you, or you will be in trouble, each trying to look after the other.
Lewis is coming up on Thursday (Weather permitting) to spray our roof with "WET AND FORGET" in the hope it get rid of all the moss that grows on it. I will have to move all the pots under the front lounge window, and cover the flower bed with plastic sheeting, so it protects the flowers.
I see that France, Spain and parts of Europe, are in for 44 plus degrees of heat. Poor Julia, I bet she will be inside with the Air Con. on. G & H will also have to be careful in those temperatures. Nothing worse the sunburnt neck and shoulders. COVER UP FOLKS. The only cover we need is UMBRELLA'S. Adam the postman has just delivered a parcel for Ros, he is soaked through. I offered him a cup of something, and a dry pair of shorts, but he declined the offer.
Ros went to town with Carolyn at 11.00 am. I doubt they will want to be walking out around town in this rain. No doubt they will end up at the Garden Centre for lunch and coffee. Which reminds me, I haven't eaten yet today. (naughty boy I hear you say) lol I have a tray of seafood that I might have with some B & B and a coffee.
Stay dry Mel, if it's at all possible, if you have my weather. See you later folks. xxxx

Afternoon all Tony took a Sudafed pill before bed and slept without coughing all night. We drove to Barrow and took the road to Walney Island we followed a narrow winding road for miles across marshes, with free roaming cattle on, until we came to the South Walney visitor centre. Not wishing to go into the nature reserve, it being the time when seagulls are hatching, we stopped and had a quick look round before driving back to a turning we had passed which led us to a beach area. We stopped here looking across to rows and rows of wind turbines in the distance, and to our left a faint view of Blackpool Tower. Spent about half an hour there taking a few seascape photos before driving back to Barrow. We had intended taking the coast road round to Bardsea but met with a road closed sign so we drove back the main road route Furness Abbey in in Dalton, it is about five minutes by car from Lynda’s.
However, this morning we drove round to the abbey on the way back to see if the nice little coffee shop was open. Unfortunately it shuts Monday and Tuesday. I stopped and took a couple of photos of the abbey over the fence. I have been in before and it is very interesting but I didn’t want to pay for another visit. It was getting near lunch time now so we drove on to Charnleys garden centre and had lunch there. We both had the seniors lunch of Cumberland sausage, egg and chips. It was nice except that some of the chips were a bit hard, warmed up I think. However, it came with a very nice salad which had a very tasty dressing on it. Back home then to relax. When we turned in to the private road we found that the electricity men were doing something at the end of it and had parked right across the four parking spaces at the end of our drive, Although we don’t park there we need the space to turn in to reverse up the drive which has a narrow entrance. When we pointed this out one man moved the van parking it properly in the spaces. One day left now. The sun came out at 2pm.

Anne you sound as though you had a lovely drive out today. How was your weather.?? That's part of the Country I haven't been, even though I have been to Blackpool back in 1956/7 when I went there with what turned out to be, my ex wife. She was evacuated to a village outside Bradford. We visited the people she and her Mum lived with. The daughter took us to Blackpool on a coach trip.I remember it was a scorching hot day, and I got SUN BURNT
The weather hasn't improved much today, still overcast and very drab. Barry didn't show, which I was expecting, I thought he might have phoned, but as yet Nothing.
I heard from my niece on FB to say her Mum (FRAN) had a fall and was in hospital. I asked why she hadn't let me know, and said "I'm only a PHONE CALL AWAY" As yet she hasn't phoned, even though she said she would.
Are you already for the off Jane. What time do you have to be there. I expect like everyone else, you will have to ring at 6.00 am to see that they have a bed available. ;-) ;-) ;-) I know I had too when I had my wrist done a few years ago. Even though it was only a DAY STAY.
Ros ordered more Anti-Biotics yesterday from the Dr. They are totally different to the ones the hospital gave her. There are only 12 tablets, and she has to take FOUR a day, so I would think, they are a lot stronger, than the ones the hospital prescribed.
Minted Lamb Steaks, New potato's, Runner, broad Beans, peas, carrots, and spring cabbage. So that will keep the Wolves from the door.
All I had earlier was a COC and a cream doughnut. So I am looking forward to my dinner tonight.
Still getting this Bl@@dy headache, together with my usual aches and pains. So won't be late to bed tonight.

Evening everyone
Is your headache any better now Frank? I like the sound of your evening meal - I’m not a big meat eater but I do like lamb. I hope Ros’s new antibiotics work for her.
Poor Colin, he seems to have had that tummy problem for a while now and it must pull him down a bit. If he hasn’t seen a doctor would he have a word with a pharmacist? They might be able to suggest something or might tell him to see his GP. The ones round here are quite helpful like that.
AnninG, I’m glad Tony and you had a better night last night. I’ll have to remember to try Sudafed the next time one of us has a cough.
Mel, we have got hot water bottles and a wheat bag but he wouldn’t be able to keep them in place. They have got to go on a particular muscle on the buttock. They vary a bit but the heat pads we have got go on for 8 hours, then the muscle is supposed to retain the warmth for up to another 8 hours. You mustn’t use them in the same spot for more than 8 hours in 24. OH said not to get up at 2 am as he would manage to remove the pad himself and call me if he had problems, but I was wide awake so got up anyway.
Today has been a better day. Now he has stopped being sick, he can take painkillers again which has helped a lot. His stomach pains have gone. Doctor thinks what caused them may remain a mystery though we would all like to know in case it recurs. He managed to get up and have a shower, then had some soup and has been sitting up watching tennis.
Not long now Jane and you will be free of pain and dancing the night away.
Just seen the time...I have to go and apply tonight’s heat pad. OH can take it off himself but can’t apply it and be sure of getting it in the right place so I will now go and do my Nurse Vera bit :-)
