Jane, I didn't think I was being nosey. Just curious, that you put that on the thread. It would have been the A 6 that was the main road from Kettering to Mk Harb. before the A14 was even thought of.
Too late Mel, they are already on their way. If they turn out to be no good, I can always send more, if Ros thins anymore.
It's been a beautiful afternoon with all this sunshine, but believe it or not I AM STILL COLD.
I am reading a Sherlock Holmes book.It has taken me from Baker Street to America. The MORMAN religion, it is so intriguing, I have a job to put it down. I must have read a 1,000 pages today. We are back in London at Baker street in the concluding chapters. These books are all on the "Library shelf" on the old TABLET that Harvey gave me. There are so many books that I have never read. So I can see me being kept busy, while on Holiday to Spain. Sitting on the decking under the umbrella, with a cold beer on the table. HEAVEN. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Apart from the soaps I don't know whats on Tele tonight. So I can see myself either going to the PUB or having an early night again. Still feeling tired out, and not wanting to do anything. Thank goodness it's only a S. S.Pie tonight with cabbage and Runners, so not a lot of standing about.
Ros was not impressed with her treatment, at the hospital today. They arrived at the right Dept. and there was a note on the door to say there was no receptionist on today. Take a seat, and a nurse will call your name when required. After half an hour and nurse came out, asking everyone their name. When Ros told her, hers, she said you have to go to another department, which takes a good 15 minutes to walk there. When she got there the nurse said you are late, !!! Anyway, the test was over in 20 minutes, without the nurse, or anyone, telling her if anything, was or wasn't, wrong. So it will be another wait for a letter to come from the hospital.
It's time I put the oven on, and now it's hissing with rain. even though the sun is still shining. ;-) ;-)

Afternoon All,
It's been sunny all day and still is here. I didn't need my coat when we went out and I was thinking how nice the garden at The George would be today in the sunshine! Yes, Fitz is an interesting character with a very interesting family ancestry! He's also a nice person and very appreciative of what you do for him.
Frank, if you are left with any Snowdrops without a home, I would love some and would send you the postage. OH dug up the lovely clump I had in the front garden thinking they were the Grape Hyacinths that were spreading everywhere. He took them straight down the tip with other garden rubbish, so I didn't even get chance to rescue and replant them! :-S I see you have now got what looks like a good deal with your travel insurance so that is good. I am not sure what will happen with the EH document and Brexit position if we leave as it is an EU document? My bank account that has travel insurance was closed to new people years ago and I don't know if any other banks do it. Also the Travel Insurance on it ceases at age 80, so I will be in the same position then! :-S Might it be worth the doc checking you out if you think you have had a mini stroke?
Gill you seem beset with these throat infections and now your OH has got it too. I think with one thing and another you have become a bit run down and stressed which won't have helped. I would ask your doc whether you could have free flu jabs with you being Sandra's carer. My doctor recommended I have them when I was in my 50s due to my keep getting them and it's made a big difference since. As OH was mixing with lots of staff, he decided it would help stop him passing things on to me if he had them as well and we noticed he didn't get many colds or sore throats after. It's worth thinking about as you must feel worn out with getting one after another.
AnnG that sounds not too bad a price for the service. I think my last one was just over £200, although they did say it was a small service and a big one would cost more. It's important they are done though. OH got a message and tons of 'beeps' on his car yesterday as it needs 'AdBlue' topping up. He's taking it in to be done on Friday as the message says the car won't start after 1300 miles if it isn't done! The mustard sauce I had yesterday was more like a few mustard seeds and very mild in a very creamy sauce and not hot like the mustard you have with ham or I would have been scraping it to one side! lol.
Jane I thought you were hot from the fire yesterday........I forgot about the chilli in your sauce! No wonder you were flapping to cool down. Sometimes chilli seems mild and then seems to get you by the throat!!!! I can just imagine you thinking your appointment for your hip had come through when you got that phone call. Yuck, a tapeworm!! I suppose Thomas is more likely to get those with what he eats, but he won't be impressed with the extra 'worming' doses although they do seem like a good idea!
Mel it is a shame you have to do all that travelling for your scripts. Mind you, we cannot specify what make of tablets we get. Mine that I have to have 2 of to make up the dose can be different sizes or the same size and it does worry me in case I take 2 of the higher dose ones instead of one of each by mistake. Our chemist doesn't get our scripts ready till we are there any more so there is always a queue now. I hope the chucks are well settled in their new home now and giving you lots of eggs.

Trouble with these late hailstorms is that they mark all the new leaves and flowers out in the garden. We had one like that the other night and all my tulips leaves have white marks on them.
I managed to get the rest of my strawberry plants sorted out this afternoon so now they are all repotted and the litle ones are planted in plugs till I can get something bigger to put them in.
The accidents sound nasty and I hope nobody was hurt. Is your road still shut Jane?
Been watching a hog out inthe garden. I did'nt put food in the bowl tonight as I was cooking two dinners at once. We had a small boneless lamb joint tonight and I cooked a chicken too. So cold chicken tomorrow and I did double roasties so they are ready too just to be heated up and then I only have to do a bit of veg. There will be some left over for a lunch as well.

Mel my road doesnt shut until the 17th .Then it is closed for 18 weeks!!!!!.
My Nephew rang last night(Janices Son) and asked if Chris and I would be able to join all the family on Sunday for Janice's 60th.It is a lunch in Broadway :-D So that will be lovely.Michel said not to tell Janice or Larry we will be there so it will be a surprise :-D :-D Hairdressers for me later today. I am in bad need of a cut especially at the front. It is down over my eyebrows if I dont push it back.My new specs should have been ready today but only the sunglasses are there so I will just need to wait a few more days and both will be ready to collect.

Morning All,
No sunshine here this morning. It is dull and much cooler so the heating has been on.
That will be nice surprising them for Janice's 60th lunch Jane. :-D I shall be wanting to know what you have to eat! lol. :-)
We are eating at home today.......more fish, Haddock this time in a cheese sauce with peas, cabbage, carrot and leeks. I'm also having courgette as I won't be having the mashed potato like OH. Then we are going out to get a battery for the door bell as I saw on line that Asda stock them. I also need to check what battery the new clock needs before we go.
I hope you and OH are feeling a bit better today Gill.
The dinger on the timer has just gone off so I'd better see if lunch is ready.

Good morning Jane Mel, and all, You are up early this morning Jane . I think I might have just dropped off by then :-( :-( :-( Joking, but I did have a terrible night again. Went for a read at 9.45 pm until 11.00 Then the radio for 15 minutes and settled down. That's what I thought anyway. By 12.30 I was in the lounge. Went back at 3.00 am. I did get a few hours, until I heard a ALARM going off somewhere. that was 7.30 am.
Ros is at Stitchery Do this morning. They are making woollen rugs from scratch. She will pop in when she finishes, then off to have her nails done at 3.30
Horrible windy morning, cold morning here, so after I had my shower I got dressed in trousers and shirt, as I have no intention of going anywhere near the garden. :-| :-| :-|
That was some hail storm Jane, we never had any here. What a lovely surprise for Janice that will be. SWEET SIXTY. lol lol. Same age as Julia.
That is a real drag Mel, having to go all that way to get the medications. I did send you the link, where you can have them posted to you. That might be a better idea.
I have some Turkey breasts out for tonight, so we will have a STIR FRY. That's Ros's job, so I have a night off from cooking.
Annx I have pm'd you.
Time for a bit of lunch (no breakfast again) and a bowl of soup.

We have just been to tesco shopping, the roads are flooded on the edges and there is snow on top of the Cotswolds. And this is spring!!! It chucked it down all morning, not raining now but cloudy and threatening. Just 10 miles away schools are closed through snow, that is in the Forest of Dean, the tops of the Cotswolds also have snow.
Ooh Jane 'Posh' Sunday lunch at Broadway. Strangely that is not a place I like, much prefer some of the other Cotswold villages, Broadway to me is pretentious and set up for the American visitors. But, lunch will be nice with the family so enjoy and all best wishes to Janice, wish I was just 60!!!!
Annx lunch sounds nice. Do you always eat your main meal at lunch time?
Frank a day tucked up indoors reading sounds good. so enjoy it.
No Gill I hope that doesn't mean she and OH are worse with their sore throats. Hope you feel better soon Gill. <3

Still blooming cold outside. I went to recover what Snow Drops were left in the box. They are now packed and ready to be posted when Ros next goes to the P.O.
I had one of those "BIG SOUPS" at lunchtime. They are so filling, I bet I will struggle with the Stir Fry tonight.
Just going to settle down with my book for a while. Ros has just rung, it's Carol's 70th Birthday next Sat. 13th. The girls are trying to sort out a lunch for next Thursday, and she wanted to know if she had anything on the calendar for that date. Who am I now her secretary ??? lol lol
Stay warm, I have the heating on and a small jumper.

Back and done the library and Holsworthy. I got some poutry grit and pellets in Mole Valley so I should'nt have to go for another month now. The girls keep eating their eggs!! I did'nt have this problem in the old house even with the two new girls and thought that was all finished with.
What a lovley surprise for Janice's 60th birthday. Hope you all have a wonderful time and meal.
When I cam ehome and looked across at Dartmoor all the hills were covered in snow. They looked like something from the alps. If you stand in our churchyard on a clear day you can see both Dartmoor and Exmoor.
We've had a few heavy showers this morning and in the afternoon but bright sunny patches inbetween. At the mo its grey..............
Frank have you tried doing a few games of cards on the pc before bed? I find they make me very tired. I do the Daily Challenges each day but the one that makes me sleepy is the Tri Peaks.

Afternoon All
I feel all a bit of a hooha.Just had a phone call with a date for my Hip Op!!. 18th May :-0 :-0...... That was quick. But I have had to say I am going on holiday on the 24th so that date was no good. The lady said well there was no record of any holiday dates. But I said no-one had asked me about holidays. So it looks like it it may be the week after I come back . I was quite settled thinking it would be nearer the end of the year.
AnnG I agree with you about Broadway and being really aimed now at tourists. It is a shame really as it is a lovely little place. I think Janice is having a trip on the steam railway which may go to Broadway or near so that is probably why Broadway has been chosen. ANN :-D I will NOT be having a BURGER :-D :-D... I think the effects of the chilli in the one I had on Tuesday hit me this morning :-S :-S
Frank,I am surprised you didnt get that hailstorm .It was pretty spectacular I must say. It was all frozen solid this morning and I think a gritter went down our road in the night as i could see orange lights flashing . Another massive trench is now being dug on the other side of the road from thefirst one.I think they will be joined up from under the road. It took me 25 minutes this afternoon just to get to Tesco as the temporary lights on Barton Hill were stuck on Red my side.In the end I did a U Turn as did other drivers and went a different way. I only wanted to go to Timpsons there to get a new battery put in Chris's watch. So I was then worried I would get to the hairdressers on time. But I made it by the skin of my teeth :-D
Mmm Haddock in Cheese Sauce .I really quite fancy that Ann. Is it your own or maybe Birdseye.I used love the one in cheese sauce . My Mum liked the Parsley Sauce one.
Chris was so funny just now .He was getting himself in a bit of a flap ,saying he would have to do the cooking when I come home after the op. He used to cook some lovely meals years ago so he is quite capable .I said I could sit here and fire off instructions .Also he can start looking through my recipe book to get some simple ideas :-D :-D I will probably make up some batches of Casseroles and freeze .Plus there is nothing wrong will having ready meals for a while. I do hope Gill is OK . Not like her not to have been on the thread. Have you got your meds Mel? I hope you didn't get stuck behind an old Tractor :-D
Cup of Tea time I think now.
