good morning all from a grey Gloucester. Hope you all remembered to alter the clocks. Mothers' day today then, One thing is certain our children won't be calling in although we will see daughter and husband next weekend. I have two cards waiting to be opened arrived earlier in the week. Other than that Mothers' day here is not usually a lot different. Sometimes I do get flowers from son so you never know.....
Probably off out to a garden centre later.

Good morning to you all,
I haven't read any posts, but wish ally MUMS a nice days. Conrad is on the phone from Spain, he says it's tipping down with rain. The dog is being naughty, chewing the rugs.
We are off to Harvey's around 1.00 pm. I have to get A STONE POT with a TREE in it from the front seat well of the car. The chap at the garden centre put it in, and I have the job of getting it out.
Just of for a shower and shave, then sort out the car, and by then it will be time to off.

Morning all,
Hope all mums have a lovely day today and get spoiled a lot.
Bit of a grey day here in Devon too but I am hoping it may cheer up a bit later on if we're lucky.
Same day as usual for us, big breakfast at luchtime and I am going to make sausage rolls for tea tonight. Bought pastry so not much fuss really and quickly made.

Morning all
Lovely and sunny here today and a bit warmer than the last few days when we had frost and ice everywhere.
Clocks all altered here, I was very busy with Sandra's zip which I didn't finish until 1am so we altered the clocks then and went to bed.
Happy Anniversary for yesterday Vera, fancy forgetting the date, mind you it's easily done when you've been married for a while. I'm always losing track of days and dates, I had to think how long we'd been married this year.......32 years and still going strong. OH and I met when we were 18 and we're both 53 this year. We married when we were both 20
Sandra has spoilt me today and gave me a lovely bunch of flowers, the biggest box of chocolates in the world lol (I think she might have her eye on a few of them) a DVD and a CD, she also hoovered around for me when she saw me doing the living room. OH cleaned the kitchen and put the lamb in to slow roast at 8.30 this morning and Sandra has just put the potatoes in the oven, so I've been really spoilt this year. I washed Sandra's coat which she now has back and she's thrilled with her new zip and I've washed the table runner ready for the cushion covers I'm hoping to start today. Good job I washed it as it shrunk so I'll only be able to make 2 cushion cover now instead of 3, which actually works perfectly with the other cushions we already have, so that was a spot of good luck. No workmen today so a lovely peaceful day to look forward to and also the F1 race this afternoon. Could this day get any better :-D :-D :-D
Hope everyone has a lovely day and hope your brother has a speedy recovery Vera it does sound a bit awkward to get to him at the hospital, do they know how long he's going to be in there for?
So it's raining in Spain then Frank, let's hope it's nice weather when you go over to visit. Maybe a toy for the little dog will give him something else to chew or there won't be anything left in the property. You asked how much it's costing the new owners next door. I believe the work is costing him around 85K but no doubt the boss will have charged him more on top of that as the owner wants security camera's fitted now. If he does decide to sell he'll never make his money back as he also paid over the odds for the property in the first place by about 30K, OH and I have worked out that he stands to lose between 30 and 50K maybe more and that's so far, gawd knows how much more he'll spend on the place as the gardens are ruined. The owner said he's already handed over 75K which might explain why the boss isn't to keen on coming back, like OH said there's no money left in it for him, so it's not worth him sending workmen here when he can make more money on his other projects. We heard the boss on the phone the other day making arrangements with someone for another extension, so he obviously has many projects going all at the same time.
How lovely to see the hogs Mel, did you manage to take a picture? Have you taken a pic of Robbie's nest yet, I'd love to see it if you have? Oh yum sausage rolls, I still have some in our freezer from Christmas plus a few other bits and bobs, so I'll probably cook those once my tooth has healed. If I do them now I probably won't get any. Sandra's pleased you still have the cards she made for you. She does work hard on them and is always asking me what you all like so she can make the cards special for each one of you.
Love the pictures of your colouring Jane. I've shown Sandra and she said she's just done the one of the left herself, so you must have similar books. She's busy with her unicorn book at the moment, then no doubt she'll go onto her butterflies and flower books after that. Enjoy your day in Cambridge, how lovely to have a nice bouquet of flowers off your children.

Good morning all
We have a beautiful bright sunny day here but there is a bitter wind blowing. I stepped outside for a minute and came back in very quickly.
My brother is doing amazingly well. He is on an Enhanced Recovery Programme. It’s been used in various departments of the hospital for a while but he is the guinea pig for his particular department. Apparently he may be home in a couple of days. We have “spoken” by text and he seems to be in good spirits.
I hope those of you going out enjoy your Mother’s Day meals. I’m doing a full Sunday roast as usual, even though there are only the 2 of us here.
Was just about to post this when the doorbell went and there was a delivery man with a beautiful bouquet from my daughter. I’m delighted as my kids don’t usually make much of Mother’s Day and it was a lovely thought.

Raining in Spain Frank, and when it does if it is like Alcazares it floods down the roads as there are no drains to take it away, then the sun comes out and it all disappears very quickly.
Glad you got the zip finished Gill. What material is the table runner. Still good to have enough for two cushions.
The saga of the new neighbours is enough to put anyone buying a property that they want changing/improving if they can't do it themselves. A lesson to be learned.
I have a lot of adult colouring books some unused as people bought them for me when they first came out and I really have not had time to sit and do them. (too busy making cards!)
Mel, if the sun comes out there, send some here after the past few days we are missing it.
Vera, lovely to get a bouquet from your daughter.
We went to the garden centre, bought a couple of herbs, 5 tumbler tomatoes and 2 Shirley and a large Aquilegia in a pot, plus seed trays etc. I also bought a pendant necklace with money my daughter put in my bank for me for Mothers day. :-) :-)

Afternoon All,
Another sunny day so I hope all the mums have a nice day.
Vera that is great news that your brother is doing so well! I meant to say that is a pretty patch of Anemones you have. Surprise flowers delivered as well!
I hope you watched your back moving the pot out of the car Frank! It sounds like Conrad has a bit of work to do with the dog, one of those Kongs with treat inside might help!
Will catch up with the other posts later as OH is ready to go. We are doing the same as you AnnG and visiting a garden centre and then a ride around some villages.

Afternoon all,
Happy Mothers day to all the Mums i hope you all have a lovely day. The family came this morning with cards and chocolates i also had a nice mug with pretty little flowers on it and some nice hand cream as they know i like my hand cream.
It's another bright sunny day here but much cooler than yesterday with the chilly wind ,yesterday it was so warm we were out in the garden ,Katie stayed over night and she wanted to learn to knit so i've had fun and games trying to teach her as she is left handed but she has picked it up very easily and is now knitting right handed .
Gill how is your mouth today i hope it's now feeling much better since it burst and you've got rid of all the nasty stuff . So your going to be busy stitching again ,will you use your machine this time to make them ?
So your brother is doing well Vera ,will you be able to visit when he's home ? it sounded as if it might have been quite a journey to visit him in hospital .
AnnG i see you've bought some tom plants ,we like the Tumbling toms ,i have one of those little plastic covered green house that we take down for the winter but i can get quite a few Tom plants and cucumber plants in it and i have the tumbling toms outside in pots .
I've finished the other unicorn doll for Lacey this one was more pinks and purple and i'm now starting another for Chelsea so i think i'll sit this afternoon and do a bit .

Ann we have only had spells of a little watery sun today but my is that east wind cold.
Today seems to be over now and what a short day it has been. I hav'nt got out in the garden at all and I really need to go and clean out the chickens nest box as someone has broken an egg in there and pooed.
Still have to make the sausage rolls yet.
So Mandy what colour is Chelsea's going to be?? Yellow hooves maybe? Still want to see the pink one please?

My mouth is much better now Mandy, still a little bit of gunk but not as bad as it was, the antibiotics are doing there job so hopefully this time around the infection will go. No they are only small cushion covers and will only take me a short time to make them, so I'll be doing them by hand, I like hand sewing so I don't mind, plus I stubbed my toe the other day and hurt my bad ankle again, so I couldn't use the sewing machine anyway. I'm watching the F1 so haven't started them yet. I washed and ironed the material this morning, so it's ready when I am. How nice to teach Katie to knit, my mum taught me when I was little and I ended up making things to order in later life, I made quite a good living from it when our children were little so it's a good skill to have. She's done well to knit right handed, well done to her. Is she making a scarf, I remember that was the first thing I made when I started? It sounds like you're very busy with the unicorn dolls, the girls are going to be chuffed with them.
I took the label off the table runner AnnG, so I'm not sure what the material is, I think it's a cotton poly mix, it's very pretty with just enough sparkle without it being over the top. Sandra loves it and of course it's in her favourite colour, pale pink, the colour matches her throw perfectly. I see you have bought some toms, we bought some the other day and have tried different ones this year as we normally only have the money maker ones so thought we'd try other types as well for a change, one of them is Shirley like you bought, so it'll be nice to compare them all, they are in the greenhouse now with canes to support them when they grow bigger.
We were saying today how pretty our garden is right now, all the tulips are out, the Camellia's are flowering, along with the forget me knots and Anemone's, my primulas I planted a few years ago have never looked so good, plus lots of other bits and bobs, so all in all I have a very colourful garden right now. I do love the spring, it's my favourite season for flowers and plants. Yes, we were saying the same thing about having an extension done, after watching the builders next door it's put us off ever having one ourselves.
Pleased to hear your brother won't be in hospital for to long Vera, it'll make it easier for you to visit him to I should imagine. How lovely to have flowers, what a nice surprise. I think all us mum's have done well with flowers and presents.

Mandy, we prefer tumbler to tumbling toms but have grown both. You are quick with the dolls, they are great and I can imagine they will be well loved.
Mel I assume it is one of the girls has broken an egg does that happen often?
We did get some sun but not warm and yes the wind is bitter. I am surprised at how far ahead your garden is Gill being further north. It sounds pretty pity we can’t see a photo :-)

I haven't heard of Tumbler AnnG i take it they are the small ones like the Tumbling Tom ?
So not to much sewing if they are smaller covers your making Gill Yes Katie said i'll make a scarf ,it's only narrow as there is only twenty stitches on the needle ,i'll have to say to her that it might do for her unicorn doll . :-D
Mel Chelsea's doll is in the lighter purple that Lacey has in her dolls hair . It always seems a short day when we alter the clocks ,it will be nice to have the lighter evenings though.

We have put up 7 foot screening over our fences AnnG so that helps keep the heat in and shelters the garden somewhat. It's gone really cloudy here now though and the wind is picking up, it's also gone cooler, I hope the wind doesn't damage the Tulips as they don't fair very well in windy weather. I'm going to take another look at the booklet I got with my camera and hopefully I'll be able to work out how to put just one photo on my laptop, that way I can email it to you all. I'm really hopeless at things like this, but I'll have another look and see if I can work it out this time. Michelle put all my photo's on my laptop in one go years ago and never showed me how to do just one, plus I've forgotten how she did it now........silly me, but like I said I'm hopeless at things like this.
What a shame one of the eggs was broken Mel, how many are they laying now? Maybe, like AnnG said, one of the girls did it herself. Let's hope it doesn't happen again.

Yes it is the girls that break the eggs. Being as they are now on grass I don't think they are getting enough grit so I gave them a bowl and they all crowded around pecking away. All except my shy little new girl, Chuchy. So I have two named now becasue the other one is Bumbum as she never grows her petticotes.

Morning all,
Pinch and a punch and all that. Well thats another month gone by and one more nearer to Christmas for Sandra who has a birthday this month I believe. :-D :-D
We have sunshine this morning but I hav'nt been out yet to see if its still windy or not. The sky is blue though so a promissing day I think.
I have my x ray this afternoon and have to cut oh's hair this morning.
Saw one hedgehog on the back lawn last night but that was after I went out to the dustbin and heard a lot of grunting so it must have met another under the decking I think. I listened for a litle while and then got cold so I came in and thats when I saw the hog on the back lawn on my tablet.
For those of you who don't know I have two cameras up on the leanto outside the back door so I can watch them from the kitchen where I am mostly.

Good morning all. Another week another month!
Good to be able to watch the wildlife Mel. We did spot a fox on our drive the other day when checking the CCTV camera.
I think a robin may be utilising a bird box buried in our loganberry, I have seen one going in there a few times.
Grey here again today and very cold outside. (Not too warm inside either now the heating has gone off.)
