Morning all
Frosty here this morning, the sun's out so the ice should melt away soon.
Had a good nights sleep but woke up with my tooth hurting so I'm going to ring the dentist and see if I can have it checked out incase the abscess hasn't fully gone, the last thing I need is for it to flare up again. Not sure if we'll see the mum's today now it depends on the dentist and what time I can get an appointment. If it hadn't of been the end of the week I would of left it until tomorrow but they're not open on Saturday's and I can't leave this tooth over the weekend, so I'll have to wait and see what happens when I ring them.
That was a bit of a journey coming home from the funeral Vera, what a shame you couldn't hear the priest properly. Good luck to your brother for his op today.
Pleased to see you have your hospital appointment earlier than planned, good job you had the insurance Ann. Thanks for letting us know about the Repair Shop programme, if I remember correctly I couldn't watch it last time around as I had other things recording at the same time, so I'm looking forward to watching it now. I've just put it on my planner incase I forget.
Sorry to hear it wasn't good news at the doctors Mel, hope the next lot of tests go better. I'm the same as you and don't know how to read blood pressure machines, I don't even know how to use one. I think the numbers have something to do with your age, unless I've got that wrong :-S
My OH has restless leg to Anne, it happened the night I didn't have much sleep and it was like a mini earthquake as it went on for ages, it woke me up and I couldn't get back off to sleep, OH on the other hand went straight back off to sleep and slept like a baby.

Morning Gill and All,
Sunshine yet again this morning we are being spoilt. Egg blue sky too typical spring sky.
When I arose this morning and looked out the window there were the two darned crows in the new pen. I thought they would go in there as its all wire up to about six foot.

Good morning all, a lovely morning here without the fog that was forecast. OH has gone to golf. I have washed a duvet cover and a large bath towel.
I am surprised at how long the programmes take, But as I normally left the old machine to do its own thing I can't say what the difference is in time. I washed the duvet and bath sheet on 40 degrees with a 1000 spin and it was a 2 hour+ programme. However I watched the smart meter and it didn't seem to use a great deal of power.
gill did you get to see the dentist. Very wise in case you need another course of antibiotics. Had you been sleeping on that side when you woke up with it hurting? Anyway, hope you can get the pain sorted out for the weekend. you said ice, did you have a hard frost this morning?
Frank, how infuriating so now you have to type it all out again.
Mel, lovely here too. Are you abe to put something across the top to keep the crows out? I imagine it might be necessary to keep them out as they can carry disease?

Good morning all. A bright sunny morning here, so I hope to get some gardening done ready for the bin collection early next week.
Ann, It always takes a while to get used to a new machine doesn't it? I have a 'shorter programme' button, which reduces the actual time quite a bit. eg. on that wash it would reduce from 1 hour 43 minutes down to 59 minutes. As many items want freshening rather than stain removal, I find this is sufficient.
I wash at low speed, then take out clean items and fold them before placing back for fast spin (1400). This way nothing needs ironing, which to me is a winner.

Hi Gwyn.
It does wash well I will give it that. (bonus was it was reduced by £30 because it had a mark on the side (which is inside the 'hole') which we never managed to see first or last. My tumble drier is great at ironing. OH does our ironing but usually he only has to rub over shirts (his) and trousers/jeans (both).
I have just pottered out in the garden for a while.

40 wash in my machine takes 20 minuets with a 1200 spin. I use that wash a lot. I have a boil wash in at the mo and that takes 2 hours 29 mins!! I forgot to put it in last night.
Had a phone call this morning asking if I could go to Stratton for my chest x ray at 12 noon. I did'nt want to go out again after yesterday so made an appointment for Mon the 1st at 3pm.
I have hoovered the dining area and hall and spare room and given the hoover two haircuts.
Oh has been over the back field which is'nt our land and taken out the goat willow trees that have been growing in the area thats suppose to be a fire break with all the trees that are planted over there at the back of us.

Good morning to you all ONCE AGAIN.
I have been down the garden and planted the Cucumber seeds, watered all the seeds I put in yesterday, and fed the greenhouse seedlings and plugs. Ros's bought more MINT plants yesterday, which I have added to the Belfast sink, where the mint grows.
Ros has gone to Tesco for a few bits, as she won't be going tomorrow. I didn't feel safe on my PINS outside by myself, so I am back in doors until she returns.
Have just ordered more solar lights, for the garden. The ones out the back are old, and I don't think they work anymore.
I am running out of space in the VEG patch. Ros has all the runner beans to put in, andI have Broard Beans, brussels and cabbage plants to put in also. and not forgetting the Parsnips and Cucumbers. I can see I am going to have to pinch a bit of the flower bed, by the shed. I'm sure that won't please MADAM. !!!!
Gwen, join the club, our green bins goes next Tuesday. Ours is always full, so we wait for the neighbours to put theirs out, and empty our excess into them. They don't mind us doing it. With Ros doing so much clearing out of the beds and cutting back, we always have far too much for our bin.
I see you had a bad journey home Vera. You didn't need that, after getting there so quickly.
Any more activity next door Gill. No more fires I hope. !!! Ros says I have my legs going 50 to the dozen sometimes, and I pull all the bedclothes off of her. She is not a happy BUNNY when that happens. I didn't have such a wonderful night last night. I stayed up later, but still laid awake for a longtime, and was awake and up by 6.00 am
I am getting used to my Tablet now, it's that much bigger than my kindle, that I get two pages of the book on the screen, which is much better.
Up the Club tomorrow lunchtime. West Ham are playing Everton at 12.30 pm.on SKY SPORTS, which we don't have. !!!
The sun is nice and warm today, as promised. I have the conservatory door open, and it's great to get some fresh air though the bungalow.
I think it's time for a sarnie and coffee. So see you later. xxx

Afternoon All Just a quick post now as Fitz is coming for lunch. It wasn't planned so I have got a large Pizza out of the freezer ,prepared some salads and he is bringing some Duck Spring Rolls and some other bits from his freezer that he had for Xmas. It is such a lovely day we shall be definitely be sitting out on the patio :-D
Vera what a long journey home yesterday. No wonder you were worn out after what must have been a very long day. What a pity no one could really hear what the vicar was saying.
The Postman came just now and said he had just seen the sign up the road saying about the road beign closed for 16 weeks. You really would have thought by now that all services should have been informed about this .Even the Primary School has not been informed!. My neighbour 2 doors down is having a massive conifer tree taken down today. We can hear the chainsaws going. It is a shame as it is a lovely tree but I think it might be stopping some light into the house on the other side.It will be strange looking out on the back window now and seeing a big empty space.I just hope there are no nesting birds :-S
Oh Mel .you didnt have a good visit then to the Dr. Sorry to hear that. I think they like the BP to be 140 or under and the bottom number under 90.
Fitz is here now .He has just walked in through the Patio doors so I must go . Back later :-D

Good afternoon all
Gill sorry to hear your tooth is hurting again I hope you can get an appointment today'
Mel good luck with your chest x-ray on Monday My BP is always high when it's taken at the doctors so on their advice I always have to take it at home and bring them the readings which are always good.
I always do a 20 mins wash at 40 on my machine with a 1600 spin circle, I don't have anything that needs a boil wash.
Jane I hate it when they cut healthy trees down even though it sometimes has to happen. I hope you had a good lunch with Fitz.
Frank you must have a big garden to take care of, nice to be able to grow a lot of your own veg. Sensible to keep safe indoors when your on your own.
Just taken Ruby to the vets for her monthly check up and flee tablet this is all covered by the medivet insurance , she got a clean bill of health

I have been lazy since I came in from the garden.
John rang this morning to say he wanted to take me for a spinning the NEW CAR. I told Ros yo tell him I was too busy. He said he would ring again this afternoon, which he did and for the first time ever I ignored it. Later I saw THE CAR outside, but as Ros was out and I hadn't answered the phone, he drove off. Thinking that I was out with Ros. I don't know why he should think I would want a spin. I have no great interest in cars, these days anyway.
Ribeye steaks, giant Prawns, Mushrooms, onions and Chips for tonight. That's what they call SURF AND TURF isn't it ??? First time I have ever done it, and only because the prawns fell out of the freezer, when I got the steaks out.
I don't know where Ros has got to, she said she was only going to Tesco's, but I bet she's gone on to somewhere else. I wish she would tell me, I sit here wondering if she is alright. She's been gone for around three hours.
Still very pleasant outside. Valerie next door has come out and said halo over the fence. She is looking quite well.
Madam has just come in. She has been to HOBBYCRAFT and Sainsbury's as well as going to other shops.
Going to get back to my book now. Bye for now. xxxx

Afternoon All,
More sunshine....we are being spoiled now!
First I hope all went well with your brother's operation today Vera.
AnnG my OH does the ironing too, but like you we keep it to the minimum. My tops go on the line on hangers and few need see the iron. It is mostly his shirts that he needs to iron. I mostly use the 40 degree wash on my machine, with the occasional boil wash. If it is underwear and towels I put that Laundry wash in to kill any bugs!
Good girl Gill, you need to see the dentist again as you say. The infection may have got a good grip with the delay being seen before and you might need another course of antibiotics. Now you have been to the dentist it won't be so daunting this time.
Oh Frank, it sounds like John changes his cars very frequently! There's a limit to how many spins you can enjoy without getting dizzy!!! I think you will have to make some excuse as he'll be asking you again. I hope Ros hasn't already earmarked what she is going to plant where you intend to extend your veg plot. :-0 I can see a line being drawn across it. LOL.
Mel, the injection in the first and worst knee started to wear off after 3 weeks, but is still not quite as bad as before the injection. What I have noticed now though is that sitting with it bent, touching it across the front feels more bruised and tender and it has started to hurt more in bed at night and wakes me up till I move to a more comfortable position. The other knee, which is the better one is still feeling good after the injection. They both start to ache after about 20 minutes if I am standing/walking. Since the injections I think they recover quicker though. You certainly didn't get the results you wanted to hear at the doctor's did you. You must have been a bit shocked. I use a home BP monitor that goes around the upper arm. I check mine every 1 or 2 months. I did get the nurse to check it's accuracy against theirs first though so you might want to do that with yours next time you go. I think the ideal BP is no more than 120/80. OH has had to wear one of the 24 hour monitors before as his BP goes up, just being at the surgery!! Do you have far to go for your x-ray?
OH fancies a drive out while this weather is so nice so I will BBL.

Jane hope lunch was good and that it was warm enough outside. I did sit in the garden with a coffee this morning.
Frank, that was naughty of Rose not to let you know she was going on somewhere else, you were bound to worry if she was a long time. Even I can't spend 3 hours in Tesco. Dinner sounds nice. We have slow cooked chicken thigh fillets in a tomato based sauce with mushrooms and we'll have it with rice.

Just got in after a very long day. I managed to see the dentist but it was a sit and wait appointment so I was there over an hour. Luckily it was still quite early when I got out, so off we went and visited the two mum's plus did some shopping in town. I also bought 4 tomato plants. My abscess hadn't fully gone as I thought, so I'm now back on another course of antibiotics. While we were out it burst, talk about horrible as there was no way I could sort myself out as we were on our way to OH's mum's in the car. Needless to say I sorted myself out as soon as we got there. It happened again a few minutes ago so I suppose I'll have to put up with for the time being, even though it's not very pleasant .
I'm just about to sort dinner so I haven't caught up with any posts, then Sandra wants to catch up with a few programmes, so I might leave the laptop for tonight as I need to sort out Sandra's zip on her coat, it broke while we were out so I've bought a new one and need to sort it for her as soon as possible as she can't go out in wet weather if the zip doesn't work. I also found a lovely pink glitter table runner I'm going to cut up and make some cushion covers for Sandra's bed. It's just the type of material I've been looking for and it was only £1.99 out of which I can make her three cushions, so she's pleased. I also found her some felt tip pens and three adult colouring books, she is thrilled with everything, so I have a happy daughter at the moment. Well, I'd better go as we're all starving. Hope all went well for your brother's op Vera, I've been thinking about you all day. Hope everyone is okay, see you all tomorrow.

Just come in from the garden. I have plnted two pots of daffs in the front tubs, tied up the rose bush on the fence off the decking, got all the weed off the tarmac outside the front where the pheasents knock all the soil down. Got two big docks out the rockery bit and moved my statue down from under the big table in the box hedge. I hav'nt seen much of him since oh made the new bird table a couple of years ago. Swept up a lot of the road and cut the box ball so its nice and neat now.
I have found Robbie nest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My SIL bought me a fancy bird nesting box a few year ago and it was made out of plywood and painted white.Nobody ever nested in it and one winter it fell off its stand so I put it on the little wall that the fence is on top of. Its only about 18 inches off the ground and the front hadfallen out and the Robins have fill it up with leaves and he has been feeding her for a couple of weeks now but today I saw him fly to where I had seen the nest so he is either still feeding her or they may have hatched as oh said he went off with four mealworms in his beak.
I have also dug more of that ground elder out of the rockery down the side into the orchard so I think I have worked really hard today but will I ache tomorrow?? O and I have taken down all the clematis that was dead from the wire but not sure if its going to grow very well this year. It hides our dustbin and stops the wind blowing across the patio a bit.
I am sure I have done other things but can't remember them. O I took three barrow loads over the bonfire which iis outside the wall and clered out three bags of rubbish out of my shed.
Oh has taken down all those goat willows out the back and and filled in the holes and sprayed the lawns with moss killer. So we have been on the go all day.
Hope all went well for Vera's brothers op today. Sending love <3

You have been so busy today Mel it's a good feeling when you manage to do a lot in one day, I hope you are having a well deserved rest now.
Gill it was good that you managed to see the dentist and get more antibiotics, hopefully this will sort the abscess out now, sounds nasty it bursting while you were out and leaving a nasty taste in your mouth but at least it's a lot of poison out of your system. Both the Mums must have been very pleased to see all three of you.
I hope you enjoyed your ride out today Annx it's an ideal time to make the most of the lovely weather we have been enjoying, did you visit anywhere special.

I'm glad you got some more antibiotics Gill. It is a horrid taste in your mouth when abcesses burst like that. I hope you had some tissues with you! It was good you managed to see both of your mums as well and get some material for Sandra's cushions. I bet she couldn't wait to get home and start on her new colouring books. :-D
Anne I expect it was good knowing everything is fine with Ruby. A friend was saying today how expensive the pet insurance can be. The excess can be quite a bit on top of the monthly cost. Her old cat now needs thyroid medication in addition to other things. I think she said he is 19!
We had a look at the church at Sapcote today. It's only a few miles away, but we couldn't get in as it was locked as many are nowadays. It has quite a few gravestones in the churchyard for people who died in the 1700s. I always imagine what they would have been wearing to go to church in those times! It was sad to see a headstone of a young soldier who died of dysentry in Mesopotamia 2 months before the end of WW1. If only all the headstones could tell their stories I think it would make us feel so humble at their struggles and hardships, incomparable to what people think are hardships nowadays.
Mel, you have excelled yourself with all you have done today!! It is such a great feeling to see the results of your hard work you must be very pleased. How great to have found Robbie's nest! Will it be ok where it is and safe do you think?

What a mess this Brexit is. I don't see why we can't come out as the PEOPLE voted to leave NOT the MP's, well some of them did. I don't really understand it all but oh does so I just leave him to tell me whats going on.
We had homemade S & K pie tonight with brocc, carrots and new pots. It went down really well after all the work we have done today. I made enough for two the other week and froze one.
Anne its good Ruby had a clean bill of health at the vets. Puts your mind at rest regular visits.
Don't think I shall be too late to bed tonight with what I have done today. Last night I went to bed at 12am too.
Gill now its burst it will soon get better now with the second lot of antibiotics but not nice for it to burst whilst you were in the car. At least you were going to someone you know. Did you rinse with salt water a few times as that shoudl help a lot to get rid of the muck. I have found in the past that once its burst you have so much relief.
Its gone all misty in the air again tonight its making everything wet. It did this last night too.
There was loads of hog poo in the garden today and while oh was spraying the front lawn he said there was a lot on that lawn too so he thinks we have more than the two I have seen together.
Robby's nest is right up against a fence. We have chairs on that bit of decking and one is right in front of the nest. I will get a pic of it tomorrow as my camera will reach there easily from the top patio across oh's pond.
