Well me and my friend had fun getting to her field. I went a different way and through the village which I hadn't done before.....mistake!!! OMG it was hilly, narrow, full of bends and the road was white over. I crawled through, hoping no-one came the other way. My friend was at the pub when I got there and we drove down the lane slowly in her old 4x4. On the way she said I'd better get out at the turn where the ford was because she'd slid into the hedge at the side last night!!! I was out like a shot when we got there and it was very steep. As soon as she turned in, the wheels stopped but the 4x4 carried on gracefully sliding. Then it stopped after about 30 feet and she let it roll again. This time, as soon as it moved off it slid again slowly turning sideways as it slid down the hill until it hit the ford with an almighty splash!! I crossed the little bridge over the ford on foot thinking, how do we get back!!! My friend is the eternal optimist. It was snowing quite heavily by then and the ponies and her sheep knew breakfast was coming and made for where they are fed, the sheep were running. They all looked fat and warm in their thick winter coats. The sheep are real characters and I got a few good pics to send. We then got back in the 4x4 and she took me to the top of the field where the foal is kept. I thought we were going back up the lane to get to it, but no straight up the hill in the field.....my nerves were in shreds by now, but we got up ok........she never used to be as brave a driver years ago!!!! lol The foal is on it's own in a fenced off open lean-to as the others were bullying it, sorting out who was boss etc and letting it know as they do. She wants it to get bigger and stronger before she tries it with them again but they can reach over the fence to get to know each other. It is a lovely, sweet gentle little foal, not a pushy diva like the last one and I really love it. Jet black with a faint star and velvety nose. We then went back to the pub through the ford again and I didn't shut my eyes, but it drove through a treat and up the hill. We had nice hot toasties and were still there when they were ready to close!!

It is a pity they can't do more to help Ros Frank. Let's hope the injections will be good for her back. I suppose she has tried physio and that sort of thing already. Every movement seems to involve your back so it must be pretty miserable for her. Good job she has a cheery soul like you to keep her spirits up!!!!

I don't think i would have been to keen on that !!

We've just had a little flurry of snow ,not enough to cover the ground .
Off to have a shower now before the jungle comes on.

Frank ,That's a b****r ,for Ros.But she doesn't want an op if it will leave her paralysed (can't spell that tonight ).Hopefully the pain killers will keep her comfortable until the New Year.Sorry I didn't see you ,but am glad you got home safely.

Ann it sounds like you have had an eventful day lol.I'm looking forward to photos.
I am sat here with steam coming out of my ears!!!!!!!!!!!.I had a phone call from Hannah's estate Agent this afternoon to ask if we had turned on the heating in the house.I said I thought Hannah had put it on at the weekend.Have just discovered SHE DIDN'T.She was worried it wouldn't be safe until it is serviced!!
I will be on the phone first thing in the morning to get the estate agent to get round there and get the heating on.The Lady did say they would do it .I just hope it is not too late and there are no burst pipes.I can just imagine my dreams tonight .I will be in a flood or something!
I am a bit too cross now so will say night night now.I will hopefully be chilled by the morning lol

It was worse than fairground rides Mandy. lol I had serious visions of us tipped over in the icy water. I thought I was going to need a 'bunk up' to get me in as it was very high off the ground for my dodgy knees. How embarrassing!!! lol I had to heave-ho, hanging onto the dashboard and the headrest, trying not to laugh. Then, when I was in, I was wondering how I would get out again.....ended up slithering off the seat hanging on to anything and everything till I felt the ground. lol

Think I will turn in now so night night everyone.

Morning All.
Slippy Slidey down the lane this morning. The cars and horseboxes have packed the snow and it is lethal .
I have just rung the estate agent and they will put the heating on.I just hope nothing happens with pipes.

I need to go and get a prescription for eye ointment. The last 2 mornings one of my eye lids has been very puffy and sore.Chris says there could be a sty or something under the lid.

Short back and sides for Ann then lol

Mel I hope you have enough grub in ,if you can't get to the shops.

Just going to see if Ann has sent any pics.

11.38am
Was just posting, and lost the lot

As I was saying before being interupted:-

What a cold morning, left the heating on all night. Ros woke up cold night before last, so we have put extra cover on the BED. unusual for us as we both give off plenty of warmth. Not hot air Jane.!!!!

Went to do chickens this morning, they were all tucked up in the covered run. Like a fool that I am, I left some water in the watering can last night. IT FROZE and split the can. MORE EXPENCE !!!!

Ros had a tearful evening, saying she will be in pain for the rest of her life. How can you explain, that the injections, and pain killers will make it better for her. I think I will have a word with her Doctor to see if there is anything else he can do for her (PAIN WISE)

Please be carefull if you are out and about today, don't want any reports of accidents/ broken legs/arms etc.

Jane

Jane Report 3 Dec 2010 12:27

Oh Frank,I'm sorry Ros was so upset.I'm not surprised though .Goodness knows what I would be like if it was me.I know in Kettering Hospital there used to be the Pain Clinic.I don't know if it still there.I assume it is for people with Chronic Pain like Ros.

I actually bought a couple of Xmas Presents while I was in town.I need to pull my finger out and get cracking .

I have just defrosted some of the Bird Bath Again !!!.It seems almost as soon as I turn my back it has frozen lol

Afternoon all,
We had fog this morning ,and its freezing out there ,walked up town this morning ,the pavements are all clear ,got to go back out later for my dentist appointment !!

Poor Ros , i don't know how i'd feel if i had pain like that all the time ,it must be awful for her , not nice to see someone in pain and you carn't do anything to help ease it .

BBL after the dentist !!!!!!!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 3 Dec 2010 13:39

Good luck at the Dentist Mandy. We now have fog!I just soaked some bread in hot water to put out as extra and I was looking out of the window. What did I see.....4 squirrels ,and 2 rabbits. One of the squirrels was upside down on the lilac tree again eating the fat from the coconut .All the wildlife must be pretty desperate now.

Jane, We have a pain clinic in Northampton. Ros use to go there all the time. but got to the stage where nothing seemed to work. !!! The doctor there was very good, and through him, she had the spinal cord stimulator fitted in Oxford. But after the traffic accident, and the abscess's, she had to go back to Oxford ,and have it taken out. Since then is has been downhill all the way. Apart from stronger pain killers or even morphine,or something like it. I don't know what they can do. Any Idea's

Bit foggy here now, but a sheet of ice underfoot. Have been out and thrown ROCK SALT on the drive. and pavement. The trouble is it treads into the house. !!!

Fortunately she has a hairdressers appointment this afternoon, perhaps that will brighten her up a bit. I have emptied the washing machine and put everything round the radiators to dry. The neighbour put out a line of washing three days ago, and it's still there FROZEN SOLID. Some people. !!!!

Looks like Tracey is a step nearer winning the Jungle. I think Shaun will be second with Jenny Third. But won't take any bets.!!!
