Things seem to be melting a bit here ,but now the sky is looking a bit iffy.Maybe more snow. I went down to the compost bins earlier ,and I heard a kind scuffling noise and what to me sounded a bit like a growl.then the side of the barn rattled!!!!!.I didn't hang around ,but I wonder if it might have been a fox or something. SPOOKY!!
Frank The Woodlands is a nice little hospital.I have been there a couple of times.Who is the Consultant?Chris may know him/her. When you go be careful not to miss the turn off to the Woodlands from the A14.I seem to remember the slip rd comes very soon after the sign, then it is a little narrow rd.Hospital is only a minute off the A14.

I was sent some really nice piccys this am showing an Orange Festival in the Netherlands, lots of statues and floats etc all made of oranges! I would have sent copies of them but they just won't upload, have tried all ways, but I just can't make it go. Soup (homemade) for lunch today, nice and warming!!!!

Fiona / Mandy it sounds like you have much worse weather than us midlands 'softies'. Yes, do be careful you don't slip over Fiona....think of your BACK. I was hanging onto OH across the supermarket car park ice yesterday.......don't think my KNEES would take another wrenching. He says I should get some nordic poles. lol
Frank, Lewis obviously enjoys leaving you something to remember him by. I bet he has been chuckling at the thought of you spotting that!! At least he didn't do a picture of you in the shower. lol,lol
Mel, it sounds like 'musical rooms' at your place. Have you mastered the furniture movers shuffle yet. lol Or is it like the chuckle brothers (it is here when we move stuff!!) to me, to you, no to you. It is a nice feeling when you get the furniture where you finally want it though. How is the advent ring coming on?

Kept a dental appt this morning. Receptionist said I was mistaken. You're wrong said I, the appt was made online. She had another look then informed me the appointed dentist hadn't turned in because of the weather! "but I could have a differant dentist, but it would cost me £16"
I objected to that so was given the "opportunity" to reappoint. Next time I can see her, next January Well it gets me out the house........

You'd think they would make sure they gritted hills and around schools Mandy. I don't think I would want to take a van down a slippery hill.
We have had a couple of short spells of big flakes of snow, but nothing has settled. Next job for me is to pack away my very thin summer tops to make room in the wardrobes for the wintery things I've got out.
OH keeps putting more heat on and I keep turning it downl. He does sit about more than me though!!! lol
Better get tea next, easy peasy fish in crumb with jackets and mushy peas.
Pity we can't charge the dentist for appointments THEY miss isn't it David.

This afternoon we have had a few very light snow showers , a lorry came down the church yard two men got out with shovels and i thought they were going to salt the path ,they wandered off down the path and the next minute they were back and in the lorry ,so what they did i don't know !! They then tried to drive back up and got stuck !!! it took them several goes backwards and forwards to get going !!
David, what a waste of your time ,did they not have any appointments that people had cancelled because of the weather ?
Ann, it is badness that they don't grit near the school ,not that the children are bothered ,they love sliding about !! but hubby's going to try tomorrow to get down there ,we can now see some of the road in front of our house , so i think there has been a bit of a thaw .
My hubby keeps turning down the heat !!! i said "its not that warm in here " he says i turned that radiator down a bit , i'am warm !!!! i'll turn it back up tomorrow when he's gone to work lol

Oh Dear! Hannah has got on the wrong train. It doesn't stop in Kettering. She will have to get off in Leicester and then get the 6.30 train back here!!!.What a silly billy.I bet she will be a bundle of fun when she gets home.
David ,why will they charge you £16 to see a different dentist when you turned up as you should have? That doesn't sound good to me.
We are keeping the heating on all night ,but when Chris got up this morning the boiler was flashing again and no heat. But apparently I forgot to turn off the Convector Heater in the lounge when I went to bed so Chester must have been very comfortable lol.Chris sai it was like a sauna when he opened the lounge door this morning lol
The recycling bins need to go out tonight, and guess who has forgotten.....ME.I will let Chris do that when he gets in!.No doubt he will have a grumble Fancy not gritting by a school....that is bad.
Fiona thank goodness your daughter has been given extra time. Must pop off and get the sausages in the oven BBL

Hi I hope everyone is not too frozen its freezing here .Someones had my problem Amanda with the heating being turned down My ho turned the heating down then went out so I turned it up again I was frozen after coming from the charity shop. Returned to day had flu for two days.Sophia made a huge christmas pudding and was dishing it out for 20p per dish. Bill the manager thought she was barmy poor Sophia she tries her best but gets no credit for what she does a bit like really I went and got some potoatoes for a lady who cannot get out and she said put them down and the money is on the top of the cooker I thought a thank youwould be nice. The she said would I peel them for her I did but then went very quickly in case she asked me to cook them as well.
I just popped on to say thank you to those who sent me photoes and for your picture of your snowy decking Mel. I appreciated you thinking of me will send you some photoes of the snowy things if we get more .I have a camera Jess lent me hers. I have a picture of April mixing one of those giant cupcakes they keep advertising on the t.v
The Jungle celeb was nasty with all those horrid stick insects they had to put in there mouths plus more well done to the little blonde she showed them. I like Stacey my husband says she sounds drunk but she makes me laugh but good old Jenny she was brill with the digger.
I am glad Wager went out of the x factor but would love to see Ann now go out of Strictly because she will stop somebody who is really good at dancing from winning .
My car hates the cold weather and refused to start this morning I had to pop down to the doctors . Sorry did not know The Barefoot Countessa was a cooking programme Amanda silly me. I did know there was a film but never liked it much. I just had Scampi and chips for my tea followed by some bread pudding Beryl brought me a huge one today. I have not had any of that for a long time. I had not had anything but hot lemon for two days.
We had a letter put through our door that should have gone to Birmingham Alabama and it was airmail also someone must have been drunk when sorting the post that day . It had a Zip code also. Have a nice evening I have to go and clean up two very dirty floors after the dogs went out.

Evening All,
What a cheek David, wanting you to pay to see another dentist. They are all in the same pratice aren't they ???? Never had that trouble.
Did a nice half Leg of lamb tonight, Roast pots, parsnips, brussels peas, carrot, BROARD BEANS for Jane. Ros dosen't feel to good, so she didn't eat it. What a waste. The cat will have the meat and the chickens the veg.
Mandy, I .see from Anglia news that you have had it bad, with the snow. It's promised for us on Thursday when we have to drive 25 miles for Ros to see this Orthopedic Surgeon. Don't want to cancel, as it will take months to get another appointment.
Jungle on at 8.30. Thank God that Gillian has gone. I think the way she has behaved, she will be lucky to find work again.!!! I think she was only there for the £££££££. £35,000. not bad for a couple of weeks, doing nothing. Don't think it's as good as previous years, Gino. was great last year.
Received a letter from the Sheltered houseing place this morning, saying the WARDENS are not allowed to re-direst mail. It is left to the tenants to do. Believe that if you will, no wonder my sister didn't receive any mail. Haven't yet decided weather to take this further.

It was a bit annoying to trudge through slush etc to keep the appt punctually but to be told no,no appt.I'd to correct them. The appt was made online. It was on checking again they realised the error was theirs.I was given 2 choices.Reappoint or pay £16 to see another asscociate dentist in the same practice.Daft I call it. I reappointed for January 2011.Good job it wasn't serious tooth ache.
Weather continues to be extreemly seasonal. Going to stock up.Might order my shopping online for a chage. Let Tsc* do the work.
