MrDaff Report 30 Jul 2009 20:16

BC... are you going as the Hindu Divine Mother.......... wow!! Or one of the other Goddesses?

I'm afraid I can't thing of a way... I was in the same predicament with Belle, last year, when they wanted a wee sample from her... the only thing I can think of is make a huge bang like thunder, and have a little dish at the ready!! :¬(( Poor little doggie.

Jude, apart from a brief spell this morning, we have had a lovely day here, too... I have thinned out all the cauli, and most of the swede... also separated the carrots, and now have four tubs full.... weeded, deadheaded, moved two dicentra, and some other plants.... put my lovely patio rose into a new pot, and an abutilon (sp) my sister bought me into a pot as well.... swept the decking..... and then a neighbour popped around with green beans, sweetcorn, beetroot and courgette straight from the allotment... I had some of the beans, but have blanched and frozen the rest, as R isn't keen... but we have eaten and thoroughly enjoyed everything else.... with salmon cutlets.... delicioso! I am well stuffed now... but have just got room for a mini magnum in a minute or two!

Ann, I am so pleased that all was ok.... my appointment is Monday morning... I have my bone marrow biopsy tomorrow... and then hospital on the 11th for the plumbing to be done on the 12th..... the NHS is certainly getting it's pound of flesh from me, this next week or so, lolol!!

Jac.... was that you I could hear echoing around the rafters, lolol Never mind... better luck next time!

Maz... that sounds sooooooo uncomfortable!!

Mamiddau... I bet it tasted wonderful, too!

Hiya Jean ~~~~~~

Daff,
You have been a busy person today.
Tooth is still aching so I am wondering how long it is going to take to 'settle' as she put it. I was surprised she didn't take an X-ray as you never know what is under the tooth. still I will be patient, luckily I have quite a good pain threshold. (well I am a woman!!)

I have a blood test tomorrow so will think of your bone marrow biopsy and be thankful that is all I have!! Hope all goes well for you. Glad you have the appointment through for the 'plumbing' anyway, get it over with.
Maz.glad you are comfy now.

Morning Daff and all, just been photographing my largest hedgehog eating from the dish outside, I thought they had disappeared altho food seemed to have been sampled most nights, but got some great photos again, boy can they scamper when they finally get fed up with being clicked at tho lol, the flash didn't seem to spook him/her at all. I put some more bits out after the first visit and either back came that hedgehog or another one turned up the same size so more photos lol Great way to get rid of bits of ham fat that o.h. won't eat, or stale cheese too, they love that!

Daff hope today goes ok and you can soon return to your smallholding/garden. You have such energy these days, and get so much done.
BC - hope you managed to get a sample from your pooch, you could try taping a lid or plastic container to a plastic fly swatter and scooting it underneath the relevant bits at the appropriate time lol but it could be timeconsuming waiting for the right moment lol Have fun, hope things aren't too dire or expensive.

Ann, hope the tooth has settled down now, I still have to make my apptmt allowing for the letter to get to them from the consultant I saw last week. He did say about three weeks time.

Take care everyone,
Lizxx

We had an older cat when we got a kitten, Josie the older cat hated the kitten from day one, she would stay upstairs all the time the young cat was downstairs. Sadly young cat got killed when she was 2 so don't know if they would ever have settled down. Older cat had lived all her life with our dog, a small poodle until the dog died so she wasn't used to being the lone animal but it made no difference. I guess it depends on the cat.

Morning Daff,
~~~ to all the girls,
Daff, all the best for today, fingers and toes crossed that it all comes back ok for you!
BC, I saw a thread on here ages ago about getting a wee sample from a dog, and the best solution was....... as soon as she has done one, keep a sponge at hand,and a carrier bag, then leep on the puddle and throw the sponge on it! Take that to the vets, and hope it works! Didnt the vet give you any ideas? tsk typical!!!
well this is my last post, so if it disappears, I hope someone will start another one? I will be watching from afar, so please dont let Daffs support fade!!! Or I'll come and haunt every single one of you!!! BE WARNED!
Love as always
Good morning all and first of all good luck to Daffy and Ann today. The sun is shining at the moment and I am slobbing around. Thanks for the tips re catching dog's pee, Liz and Ann! I think in the state she is in if I made a loud bang she would have a fit of the vapours! lol
I had two Freecyclers collect a wardrobe from me last night and I felt so bad afterwards as they looked a bit 'dodgy' and I wouldn't leave the room to get a glass of water for one of them. My lodger's computer and all her stuff was lying around and I had visions of them stealing everything and you read about old ladies being duped all the time! lol Anyway I got such a nice text message from the woman saying how lovely the wardrobe looked in her room and thanking me profusely, that I was deeply ashamed of my suspicions...tsk tsk...
Off to the park now, all medicines being given to dog. When I put the drops in her eye, I say that's ten pounds a drop you know...pmsl....
Happy Friday to all:-)
Blood test was really good, hardly a bruise and I really didn't feel anything - hope you can say similar Daff!!! Mine was done by the lovely sister who used to dress my wound after my op last year. I have to go back to the hypertension clinic (she calls it MOT) in two weeks carrying a sample. She gave me a sterile container, well, it is the size of a small medicine bottle with a quite narrow top. The mind boggles!!! Should have been a man!
BC if you missed it I did too so have no idea what is going on.
Me too Taff...tsk tsk.....Ann it looks like you and me will have to get to grips with the wee taking machinery. I cant make head nor tail of the yellow instrument I got for my doggie! lol
I was walking my dog in park when I got an urgent message that my Old Dragon was dying. So I rushed home, jumped in a taxi and got there really fast. She was sitting in front of mirror putting on lipstick and pearls and getting ready to go out for lunch!! After I jumped up and down in rage (and she was hysterical laughing at the thoughts of her near demise)..I plonked down the taxi bill in front of her and left in a huff. I suppose it was a good practise run for the real thing....pmsl...she is a tough cookie....
Well I am entertaining tonight so I had better go and find something to cook.
Hooe your tests were ok Daff and glad you were not bruised Ann:-)
Afternoon all... well....... what a palaver!! but *puffs up ample bosom with bewildered pride* I have the dubious honour of having the toughest woman's bones that my lovely young doc has ever had to drill through!! She said that there have been one or two that are tougher... young athletic males... but never has she had such a job getting samples from a woman.. or an older man, for that matter.
She has done mine a couple of times now... I hadn't realised it was such a problem from the density of my bone... just thought it was the shape. Well... at least I know I don't have osteoporosis!!
No joy first time in.... had to go in another way... got the marrow in that one.... then had to trephine a piece of bone out as well... so I am very, very tender just now! :¬((
Ann.... glad your bloods went ok.....they didn't take mine!
Taff... I will be so sorry not to see your name on the boards... I haven't finished saving it all yet... will let you know when I have!! ((((((((hugs))))))))
BC.... poor little dog... have they given any indication as to what they think is wrong with her?
~~~~~~~ to Mau and Sallie, thank you...... fingers crossed all will be as suspected, ok and still in remission... I will get the results in two weeks... although he is very good, and will phone me straight away if there is anything untoward.

Hiya Liz.... I have just wmsl at the image of BC crawling around with a flora carton on a bamboo stick waiting for a widdle, lolol I am not really that busy... much of what I was doing yesterday I did sitting down, lol... R did all the fetching and carrying, poor man. But the garden is beginning to look less bedraggled after all that rain... Next year it will have almost grown into itself, so will be less work (she says, hopefully!! lol)

BC... oh dear... did your Old Dragon text you, or was it someone else???? I'd have been tempted to do a bit of judicious throttling, I think!!........ still all agog, all agog I tell you... to know who you are going as????????

Ann.... hope all goes well on your MOT..... I am supposed to go for another one... but am having so many BP's done, that I think it can wait until after I have had the plumbing sorted......

Have a lovely weekend away.... I'll keep all my fingers crossed for you, weatherwise.

~~~~~~~~ waves to a lady in Morrisons lugging around an oxygen bottle and muttering in a strange and weird language just under her breath...... ;¬)) I have a block on spelling that... hang on a mo while I find a spell check thingy... I am sure there is one here somewhere..... Yep... spelt it correctly but it still looks wrong to me... had spelt palaver incorrectly though!!
Maz... my lad still brings his stuff to wash when he comes home, lol
Right... off to look around the boards for 10 minutes.
Love
Daff xxxxxx
