Well, popped the thingy for the list of medications into the doctor... then toddled off to Hobbycraft. Baaaaaad move!! I found some stuff I loved, and bought some of it, lol.

I was very confused, though, so bold as brass, latched onto a very lovely lady, and she was extremely helpful.... *huge smile*

Jean, that is my next job... the freezer is well stocked, but I am down on the tins, and the catfood... I shall order a home delivery, though.... too much like hard work, lugging all that little lot around!!

R has taken Thursday and Friday off, so he will be with me at the plumbing clinic, and the haemtology clinic... I reckon it is the highlight of his life, at the moment, hanging around in hospital waiting rooms, lol I hope they get the volume on your thingies sorted soon......... useless having them if they are uncomfortable, isn't it? xxx

Afternoon Daff and all:-) I am in total admiration of folks who like shopping. I loathe it in any shape or form. My son accompanied me yesterday (a most unusual occurrence) and we picked out a suitable outfit for his big day....and to-day I snook back and returned it......pmsl.

Now can some kind person knit me a Carmen Miranda hat complete with bananas and grapes? thanks ever so:-))...

mm... I have a couple of very realistic looking bananas in my display fruit bowl... along with two plastic mangoes, and a plastic pineapple.... you are welcome to borrow those??? Have you seen Ann's knitting????

I have just been stopped in my tracks... I was about to close down and go to bed... but I had a pm... so popped in to see who it was..... and, it is a connection....... well, we hope so... she has a wedding certificate, with my gt granny's name on it.......... as a witness... father of the bride was my elusive Jones, father of my granny's husband to be..... and I had got the right stab in the dark leap of faith... cos I liked the wife's name, lol... right, I am off to rejoin Ancestry....... what a brilliant day this has been!!

Re hearing aids, I had only just got mine and decided to try them during choir practice. They seemed ok. A few days later we had our dress rehearsal. We use some steep staging in front of the church organ (or at least where the pipes are, not the keyboard for it). I am on the top level of the staging, therefore close to the pipes. The organist suddenly brought his hands down in a loud thundering chord. I just about skittled all the sopranos sitting in the lower 4 rows! A little later a big bass drum which was placed near us was given a loud beat. I clapped my hands over my ears - big mistake as it made the hearing aids squeal. I gave up wearing them at choir, the only trouble being that I had trouble hearing the conductors instructions as I was in the back row. Had to keep asking the person next to me 'what did he say?'

Off to do some washing, well overdue. Hope it stays fine today.

Hi Daff and all.

I had trouble getting to sleep last night so after getting up twice to do some sudoku puzzles (they are my favourites) I eventually gave in and took half a sleeping pill. Unfortunately Phil ignored the note I put on the kitchen bench saying: no tea for me, please let me sleep. He came in offering me tea and toast. I never eat toast. As a result I am rather grumpy today. I will take a whole sleeping pill before bed tonight as I have an appointment in town at 9.10am with the eye specialist, so need to be up at 7 to get away by 8.30 at the very latest. It takes an age to ensure that Phil is properly dressed.

Sweet dreams to you all, although most of you will already be asleep now.

Good morning and a wave over the waters to Huia:-) Woke up to rain and am having my second strong coffee and about to feel alive and energetic any minute now! My Bulgarian is busy taking her mother and friend round London so I only have an hour or two to listen to in the evenings...bliss:-) I do hope Maz's cat will start pooing where she is supposed to...she is obviously feeling a bit lonely for the dog. Can you give a cat Rescue remedy?

Tomorrow I am expecting a visit from four GR friends so I had better do some housework today. I feel like the hostess on Come Dine with Me so I shall also tidy my drawers, just in case! lol

Thanks for the offers of knitting grapes but somehow, I don't think it would work, Ann, you would have to stuff them with something wouldnt you? to make them stand out? Anyway have gone off the idea. So you can put the fake bananas back in the bowl Daffy:-)

good morning all, not a very nice day here. senior captains day at the golf club too and heavy rain is forecast which is a shame for the captain.

I wont be on after about 10am until this afternoon as I have a meeting to attend.

So.. I know who two of the GR friends are...... am itching to know who the others are, lolol...... nosey so and so, me! ;¬))

It is bucketing it down today..... I have decided to do a tidy up in the kitchen... and zap all those old receipts and the mailing thingies with our name and details on them... that makes me so cross, as you have to scour through them to find where else they have added your details..... like on the loan/mortgage/credit card application forms... I might just start sending them back... however, I was once told that these are then just dumped, so our details would still be flying around in a tip somewhere. Grrrrrrr!!

I also need to tidy up some drawers, BC...... I have to find space to put all the stuff for my new hobby...... I also need to start bashing my brick walls down... now that I am well again, I think I will have more concentration, and will find it easier to unravel conundrums... love that word, don't you???

Well... off to play at domestic goddess for an hour or so, lolol Dinner is already prepared.... I made seafood lasagne last night, and could have fed the Army on the amounts, lol....... it was gorgeous, mind, and so quick to make!!
