ButtercupFields Report 10 Jun 2009 22:20

Well, Ann, I got on a Bus and, as you know there is a Tube strike today, so it was like a tin of sardines...One whole hour went by with people scrambling and pushing, and this large man PUSHED his way through, squashing my head into a window!! So that is when I said, let me out of here, so I got off the bus and walked home....

And that, my dear friends, is why I have not been to my Tatooist tonight..*sobs....

Lol

Morning everyone!!

Oh BC, there's a shame... did you poke the nasty big man's belly with your umbrella? The thug.. him, not you!!

Well, I took some herbal sleeping thingies... Nytol, BC, not the other... don't smoke anymore, lol And I slept like a log!! Hermie has just woken me up.

Today I feel good enough to move the mountains... so I shall start the move of my pc and bits to the conservatory... if you don't hear from me it's cos I still haven't managed to put all the wires in the right sockety things!!

~~~~~ waves to Huia.
*wonders if Taff has a head full of shampoo she can't rinse out*
Morning Ann.....is it nice up your neck of the woods? I still have plants to dig in, but the sack of manure that needs to go in first is too heavy for me to cart, or even lift into the wheelbarrow... all that rain has made them twice as heavy!!
Hiya Jude.... where, apart from your wrist, would you have a tattoo?
Have a lovely day everyone... see you later!
Love
Good morning Daff, and don't you dare even try to lift that manure.
T has just gone off to the Forest to play in a golf match, (Lol, he phoned from the club yesterday to 'ask permission to swap Thursday for Friday'). so I have the whole day to play as it will be 7.30 before he gets home. Things are a bit wet in the garden for weeding so, after a walk to get the papers and washing the kitchen floor, I will play with my scrapbooking I think. Got some nice floral photos from tenerife to use. Or I may make a few cards. Hmmm decisions decisions!
Huia Report 11 Jun 2009 10:40
I have been busy scanning some of my mothers old (about 1915-20) photos which were in an album. As they are glued I cant remove them and I have had to cut the pages of the album apart at the 'hinge' if you know what I mean to make it easier to get them on the scanner.
~~~~back to Daff and everybody. Off to bed soon. See you in the morning (evening for you) I hope.

Huia.

Jac Report 11 Jun 2009 11:01

Morning all: good to see that you are all keeping busy))))

I myself have not enuf hours in the day: it's the Village Event on Saturday and I'm manning the Gardening Club Stall - so this morning delievered about 200 printed price labels to other member who is pricing - went to Morrisons for shopping - called at friends house to collect her clean nicks (long story but she's in hospital and no clean nicks!!) back home to peg out washing which was rained on yesterday whilst I was at the hospital - moved 21 hanging baskets into the "watery" sun to encourage the flowers to open a bit for Saturday.

And it's still only 11.00 am and I am wondering which way to hump should it rain! to the washing? or to the hanging baskets?

I have about 40 aubergine plants to pot up - several other thingamys to label and price and the house is like a tip!

OH...................and the bloody cat has decided that today's he's mum's boy and wont leave my side!

I do hope everyone has a good day - I might just go back to bed!

Bi for now - you all take care and dont go overdoing things (DAFF in particular)

Jac xxxx

Edit: or even which way to jump - I already have the hump! lol

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 11 Jun 2009 11:56

Thinking about Jac and the village day, I do so mourn the days when the children were at school and I was involved with PTA etc, always something going on, fetes, carnivals, even an antiques fair. Such fun, I loved to be so busy. Now i would love to be involved but don't have any means of connecting to these things, although we live in a village it is a split village, the 'old' part is the true village and ours is the new extension (must be 25 years old now!) and the whole village is more of a suburb so no village atmosphere. The only events now the RAF camp has gone are the schools events, church events and the art society exhibitions and i don't have a connection to any of these. We do support them by going but it is not the same as being involved.

Morning all... I am now reconnected, but in the same room I was in before... sister phoned and asked me to go out to play... now how could I refuse? Lol... so we went to McArthur Glen, one of those retail shopping places, where we mooched around for a couple of hours... my niece was with us, and she has a *thing* about sunglasses and handbags.... her 21st coming up in August, so I watched what she liked very carefully!! We had a bit of lunch, then went and sat in the sun in my sister's garden for a bit!!

So today, I will be moving my pc!! lol

Jac, you are a busy bee........ I'd buy your hanging baskets, I'd love some more, and have a few more fence posts to dangle them from now!!

Sleep tight, Huia, see you later!

Taff, I have pm'd you!!

Ann, my advice would be to take the lot, lol!! It was quite cold in the shade yesterday.... lovely in the sun if your were out of the wind, as the wind was a bit chilly, I thought.

Hiya Maz, hope you are well?

Loads of love

Taff Report 12 Jun 2009 10:51

Morning Daff, if you come across a brain as well it's mine!!, not that its worth anything..LOL
So did you spend it all at McArthur Glen? I've never actually been there, but passed it loads of times!
Well, the water came back on last night, and it was a lovely shade of rust, but after running it through, it worked again, so did I !!
I bet BC, beat than man black and blue with her brolly....LOL.
Now for todays news, I'M SICK OF HEARING ABOUT FLIPPIN CARS!!!!
Son was meant to pick Ford Focus up from Dealers yesterday, and guess what?......No M.o.t.!!!! And the ball joint had gone! Sounds to me like he's buying a load of trouble, but as we all know, you cant tell them anything, cos they always know it all anyway!! So, he's picking it up this afternoon, (at least it will have a full 12months m.o.t.). fingers crossed, cos if I hear one more moan,I'll run away.....
Love as always

Just been grocery shopping and then to the local garden centre for coffee, usually have it in tescos but it was heaving so we gave up.

Also just booked both cars in for their MOTs the week after we come back so that will be an expensive week, service as well for the BMW. T took mine down to the garage to book them in and asked if the tyres needed changing, he thought they might, the garage very honestly said they are all fine, if we don't do many miles they will last another 6 months, refreshing isn't it to find a garage that doesn't just say yes they need changing?

MrDaff Report 12 Jun 2009 13:08

Well.... here I am back online again... and my computer is down in the conservatory, and I have two spare bits of lead... not at all sure where they belong, so will slowly go through everything until I find an attachment that doesn't work, lol!!

Taff, I bought a lovely top, and a pair of fawn linen trousers.. I have to take the trousers up about a mile, but that is ok, I shall probably get around to it 10 minutes before I want to wear them, lol which is my usual trick.

Ann, when do you go? Is it today or tomorrow? If you don't answer this, I shall know you have gone and it is too late to wish you *happy holiday*!!

Oh well... Happy Holiday anyway... have a lovely time, both of you.

AnninGlos Report 12 Jun 2009 13:33

Daff, we don't go until Sunday, so you have a couple of days to put up with me yet. Doesn't your conservatory get hot? I sometimes couldn't sit in ours for very long. Have you found what doesn't work yet?

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 12 Jun 2009 14:38

*blushes* Yes, Ann... I have been whining for some time now that the sound has gone on my pc... and guess where one of the leads fits? Yep!! The speakers!! The other I haven't a clue about... but I am sure I shall want to use the unknown item one day... and voila!! I will have a lead that miraculously fits it!! That is if Jethro doesn't lose it first... he keeps trying to run off with it!!

To answer your question about the conservatory... no, it doesn't get over hot, although it can get a bit warm on a very hot day until we open the windows... we have a special glass on the roof, and it seems to work very well indeed... and I have four tip and tilt windows.... large ones, plus the french doors, and 11 of those horizontal *upper windows*, and the trees provide a bit of shade somewhere in there at all times of the day, so it is quite pleasant even on a freezing or baking hot day.

I am now busy trying to hide the tangle of leads... it all looks so unsightly, doesn't it??

If you lose me it is cos I have pulled too hard on one of them, lolol

Love
