Ahh baby asleep, she is beautiful and has been cooing and babbling away brings back memories it does.

Daff we are off to Blackpool for a midweek break to recharge the batteries, might fit in another one later in the year as well.

Ann I hope it stays nice so you get washing dry and good luck with your packing, that is one job I hate.

Ann it has rained on and off here all morning... the sun has made a bit of effort, but needs to try harder!!

They left just after 11, so will be well on the way now. Littlie was awake in the night a lot with a nasty cough.... seemed ok this morning, just tired and a bit cranky.... I am exhausted from all the diversion tactics I employed... she actually wanted to go to sleep at one stage, and I had to try and keep her awake while B was loading the car, she was virtually gone in seconds, bless her. I miss her already, but it is also very nice to have the house to myself, I have to say, lol I shall clear up the debris later.

My hurty bits are so much better today... the exercises seem to be working, or at least I am getting used to them. I shall have to increase the repeats, now though, lolol.... but at least it is a huge improvement on a couple of days ago.

Aw bless her Ginnie... I have a granddaughter who lives a few miles outside Blackpool... I haven't seen her since New Year.... :¬((

Well, I am off to have a nice long shower, unaided by Little Miss Helpful!

Love

Well it is in the case, packed, weighed and a load taken out, books transferred to T's case who seems able to exist on half the number of clothes I can. Exhausted now, just got the case labels to do, gone are the days when they came in the post.

Glad they got off OK Daff I expect she will be pleased to see Mummy. Hope B gets on OK with Uni.

Well, the books I took out went into T's case because as usual he is way below the limit. I took out a light sweater I probably wont need and a T shirt or two. But then I am the one carrying the phone charger, camera charger, etc.

Morning, Daff and friends, I am devastated.... some low life has come into my little front garden and broke off my beautiful Camellia bloom, this is the first one ever it has taken two years to develop..... the worst thing is they just dropped it on the floor.......there is another bud ready to bloom, so I wonder if that is going to go the same way....I have no other place to put the bush,My daff camelia is at the back of the house in the back yard , so perhaps i should try and move the front one there, bit squashed though as we park the car there too.......How I miss my big garden....

Ann , have a brilliant holiday, hope the sun shines every day and both you and T get some rest and recharge the batteries...hope you share some of the photos with me....thanks.....lol.....

I was thinking about Taff yesterday, so if you are in touch Daff give her my love..And.I hope you are feeling better too and enjoy the weekend...

Oh Jean how annoying and senseless. Do you get a lot of passers by?
Maybe you will be able to squeeze it in round the back.
Thanks hopefully it will be warmer than here!!!

An n in Glos., I too would like to wish you a Happy Holiday, have a good one.
Just Jean, Reading about your Camellia, what a b****dy nuisance. Can I suggest that if you do not have too much room in your back garden, that you perhaps consider planting it in a tub, then you can move it into the best position that you like. I hope it works for you.
Have a good day everybody.

Why do we think it is necessary to clean the house before going away, it will all be the same when we come back? Four weeks dust!!!
Think we have got everything had a bit of a hiccup with checking in on line, not done it with Iberia before and it always works with BA/Flybe/Monarch etc.
T has checked in with Iberia and in their wisdom they have put (he didn't have the usual choice of seats) me in 29F and him in 27F. Just allocated arbitrary seats. I think it is just their system, they check you in and put you anywhere. He phoned the help line but they couldn't do anything, they said to try and change them at the airport. The problem is more that they are right at the back and if we are delayed we need to get off fast in Madrid to get the next flight (on which we are sitting together!!!)
Nothing is ever simple is it?

Thanks for good wishes.

Ann, we are on the very busy A58, one of the busiest roads in England!!!
it was nice and quiet when we came over 25yrs ago, we have a big school close by and lots of houses, Julia, thanks for the idea.... the few plants I have are all in big tubs,but I am going to convert a plastic cabinet into a planter which I think will sit nicely in the backyard i will transfer the camelia into that....

Hi to Daff and all

Good morning all..... I am well, really well, in fact... all the aches and pains have reduced to little niggles, all of which I can happily ignore and get on with *stuff*.

So... R did the basic household things yesterday morning, while I potted on some of the tomatoes... we lost a cordyline over the winter, and it was in a beautiful tallish black glossy tub, so I have dug that out and put some of the tumbling toms into it. I cut the Forsythia back... it was just shoved in there when we were having the side and the magic circle done... it was originally in the front. It is quite lop sided, lolol... but we like where it is, so we need to straighten it up. Anyway, I lopped the top couple of inches off.... and realised I had about 20 potential softwood cuttings..... so they are all now safely in pots.... nothing ventured, nothing gained. I then had a good look around...

the Fatsia we thought we had lost, has quite a lot of new growth, so I have cut that back and taken all the dead leaves off... then moved a couple of plants that didn't do too well in their spot last year, plus put some new ones in... your jasmine has been joined by a beautiful white and purple clematis, BC... when they meet in the middle and join up the dots they should look wonderful!

Ann, I have taken a couple of rootings of your dad's sedum..... they are doing really well, I checked them yesterday.

We now need to dig up a Hydrangea, and put it in it's new home, and then we have one more clematis to go in. Two of the beds have really shot up with weeds... they were almost full of French Lavender, so that will all be dug up today... and I have pots of various plants to replace them. Busy day ahead today, lolol... son will be back later, to give a hand with the heavy stuff.

Mummo, have a lovely time at the Range.... I love it there, lol

Maz, wmsl @ Gizmo.... he is one clever little kitty, lolol

BC, I am sort of resting... I am doing work I like doing, so it doesn't feel too hard, lolol... now if it was cleaning windows or something, then I would be resting.... and whingeing for Britain, lolol.

Jean, that is such a shame... and so mindless!!

Ann I do hope you have got off on your holiday ok...... *waves little hankie forlornly at overflying planes, just in case Ann and T are on one of them*

~~~~~~~ to Julia,,,,,,
Well, I am off to play at being a gardener....... it was quite windy last night and some of the pots have blown over... I didn't get up until gone 10am, so am a bit behind today... I was awake for a couple of hours in the night, but spent it comfortably reviewing all the plants etc, and planning the weekend's work... very efficient use of time, I thought... shame I can't remember half of it, lolol!!
Have a lovely day, everyone
Love
Daff xxxxx still giggling at Gizmo, lolol!!
