Not at all cold here but just spitting with rain.

I bet BC issued her friends with a paint brush when theyw alked in through the door, sort of earn your food Lol!!!!

I have just made two cards, after having to re-boot my PC yet again when it threw a wobbly. T has worked out how I can increase the memory by various amounts (depending on how much I increase it) But my non techie brain says what if I increase the memory but that is not the problem? Then again the thought of having to transfer everything from this PC to a new one - he has found one for £300 approx in C***t - is very inhibiting!

Have you tried increasing the layers to get warm?? Extra sweater that can be thrown off when the internal heating rises?

I will check re Cheltenham. GC.

~~~~~~~ to Maz... some people get to gallivant and have lunch... I had to rummage in the freezer, lolol!!
Ann, I have a vest, a long sleeved t shirt, and my fleece on.. well, on off on off, lol... also got a blanket to wrap around me whenever B comes in or goes out.... the waft of cold air is either delicious or disastrous, lol The rain is getting heavier, too... and the wind is picking up..... still it keeps me out of mischief, and sorts out what I shall do tomorrow, lol... craft work it is!
I have also had another long chat with my mother this time.... so still not had a nap, lol
Ann..... I sooooo wanted to be right, lolol!! I am going to google and see if it was on earlier any other years.......... lol
Erm... can I ask what C***t is? I had a look at Apple Macs yesterday... it looks like they would do exactly what I want them to do.... but o m goodness, so expensive!!
Comet Daff, that is just the pc no keyboard, mouse or screen.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 18 Mar 2010 17:00
Ah.....I had forgotten about them, lolol!! I had a lovely new screen from Santa... there was nothing wrong with my *old* one, it is just a bit smaller than this... I can get 2 pages neatly side by side on this one, lol.... if I knew how to do it, I could, lol!
I have just whiled away a fruitful and decadent few moments..... and, trala... I am a little bit wrong but I am much more right, lolol!!
Before 2005, Cheltenham Festival was a 3 day event (maybe a 2 day one for some, it didn't make it totally clear), with the final day having the Gold Cup. From 2005 it became a 4 day event, Tuesday to Friday... Gold Cup was always on the final day.
I have the dates for the Gold Cup events from 1988 right through to this year.... and, there are 11 before the 17th, and only 9 on or after the 17th... and all of these would have started before the 17th, if that makes sense?
So... the majority of the Festivals started between the 9th and the 14th... with 3 starting the 15th, and 2 on the 16th. One (2001) was cancelled cos of Foot and Mouth.
So in most cases, the Cheltenham Festival is in the week which has the !2th to 14th in it!! lol!!
Yes!!
And my space bar is sticking... I might need another keyboard, lol!!
Is this pc Vista or windows 7???? I have heard some good stuff about Windows 7........
OK I have just told T never to take you on in an argument. He was convinced he was right!
He is not sure if the pc was vista or Windows 7.
AnninGlos Report 18 Mar 2010 18:00
Daff, (and anybody else interested), our 'cabbage tree' does have sword-like leaves. It is commonly called cabbage tree because the heart was sometimes cooked like cabbage by the settlers. Unfortunately that killed it so not a good thing to try if you want to keep your cordyline.
Huia.
MrDaff Report 19 Mar 2010 10:25
Morning everyone.... wmsl at Gizmo... I have a little hand glove, I used to use it on the dogs, it was brilliant for keeping my lab's shedding to a minimum... when she wanted petting, she used to go and get it... I now use it on Jethro, rather than washing him all the time, lol... it brings him up a treat, and gets all the loose hairs as well... it was in one of those big pet shops, and it was called a *love glove*... it is also brilliant for wiping over the places they choose to sleep, and lifting the hairs... so a well spent couple of quid!!
~~~~~~~ to BC as you go off to battle the underground........

Ann, I was going to de-gunge the kitchen properly today.. clean inside all the cupboards etc... but the sun is shining........... and I have had a phone call from mum, asking me to look up shoes for my dad... he can barely walk, these days. So I shall do that first, and then see how the weather pans out. I would like to finish the planting today, at least until the next wave over Easter... we'll have Littlie with us, then, as well, I think! And I want to check out pc's as well... is yours behaving itself?

Huia, that'll teach me for not googling first, lol!! I have to say... it doesn't look very tasty, but I suppose if they were very hungry, they'd have tried anything!

Right... off to google for my dad.......... anyone heard of Reiker shoes? My mother keeps going on about them!

My friend used to go on about reiker shoes they were supposed to be light and easy to wear .the factory outlets have them this way .I think they are quite pricey though .

its raining here so indoor jobs this morning will have to suffice

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 20 Mar 2010 12:02

Morning all... it has been chucking it down here, as well, Maz.... so I have been planting seeds in the kitchen... made a lovely mess, lol.... however, it is just trying to brighten up a little bit, so I hopefully can get outside and finish off the chopping down of branches etc... hubby will be watching Wales Italy later, and I am cutting his hair in a moment, so that will be my lot for today... well, apart from the shopping, but one of the men can do that if they want to eat... I have been trying to use up the stuff in the freezer, especially the soups, as they don't go down as quickly in the summer..... they are already fancying salads and stuff!

Must go and have a wander around the boards to see what is what, and then get on and tidy up after myself....... I have very generously shared a lot of muck with the kitchen floor, lol ;¬))

ps... ordered two pairs of shoes for my dad... and generally faffed about on here and google all day yesterday, lol.... so not a great deal done! xxxx

Stopped raining here before eleven so we have been to local garden centre for coffee and basket compost (home made is a bit too heavy for the baskets. T now pottering until lunch time then he too will no doubt be watching the sport so hopefully I can get some craft work or writing done. (the more interests I take up the more confused I get Lol!!!)
