Good morning all... another beautiful day here.... sunny, and nice and warm in the conservatory.... lovely!!

Littlie seems to be totally recovered this morning... she has even slept in a bit, which gave me a bit of breathing space, lol... I have done her ironing, and put a load in the machine, so am back to being a bit more mobile again... it is pure bliss!!

Maz, the curtains in our bedroom are manky... so I was eyeing them up to come down over the weekend and have a good wash... then I shall add the blackout linings to them, as the early morning sun in the summer shines straight through them and into my face... very annoying at silly o'clock, lol

Mau, like you, I have that *thing* about the softness of towels... I usually throw them all into the tumble dryer to air for ten minutes, and that helps... if they have got tooo dry and hard, I throw them in with a wrung out wet teatowel or flannel... and it adds just enough moisture to make them all soft and comfy again, lol

BC... it feels like spring here, but it is very cold outside... I went to add the scraps to the wormery earlier, and it was freezing!! I soon scuttled back in.

Hiya Ann.... sounds like you had a wonderful day.... I have to close my eyes going up and down those hills, lol.... I don't do heights and *views* lol... I love the still photos, but not the real thing... and even feel a bit queasy when I watch it on the telly, you know, those helicopter thingies!!

Such a wuzz!!

Ginnie... I shall never look at pigs in quite the same way after meeting Peppa, lol.... I am dreading the day Littlie realises that bacon and ham (firm favourites) are slices of Peppa and George's ample backsides, lolol Littlie is excellent on the computer... she has extremely good mouse control (puffs up with pride) and also has her own section on my pc.... she is able to recognise her three different sites on her bookmarks, and clicks onto them... rarely needs any help from me to play the games... really good... for a three and a half year old, excellent... another year and she will be re-programming my computer¬¬ lol

Mummo, ouch, those bills are so painful, but so essential, aren't they? Glad Eddie is sleeping a bit better with the stronger pain relief... and he will soon be up and about, and will gradually start to be more mobile. ((((hugs)))) for you both.

~~~~~~~~ to Jean..... I love the Forest as well... I used to stop and have my lunch there a lot when I worked in the community more..... that sounds grander than it was, I was a tutor, and went to the workplaces to deliver training... I had a very wide area, which included some of the most beautiful parts of the UK... allegedly!! It seemed to consist of lots of hills, and then the beautiful Forest. It was very strange at one stage though, when all the sheep were being rounded up due to Foot and Mouth... it took a few years for it to get back to normal.
Right... off to get madam dressed in her best bib and tucker... she is off to take cat food to Gt Gran and Gt Grampa, and then on to the park or the beach, depending on whether the weather stays good. The beach is further afield!
Me? I shall stay here and shake the lounge rugs and then vacuum ... haven't done it (shake the rugs, I have vacuumed!!) all week, and it is soooooo manky. The rugs are quite a deep pile, and even if I put the cleaner over.... I like to shake them outside daily when madam is here. And I have been bone idle and not done it.
Or I might finish off my scrapbook page... which I was stuck on, and which is taking on a life of it's own, and not looking at all as I intended... but I like it!
I am afraid I am not a very *modern* scrapbooker, and don't seem to be able to follow any of the rules, lol.... but I am beginning to like the way the page evolves almost of it's own accord. No artist, me, lol!!
Have a lovely day, everyone.
Love
Daff xxxx
should be packing, we are going to daughters tomorrow, also going out to lunch with my sister tomorrow. The trouble is the weather is so unpredictable that I don't know what to pack. have a meal out on Saturday to a Fusion????? restaurant in Winchester, wish I knew if it was a warm, cold or hot place. Nothing worse than being out for a meal and it being cold. Family meal, us, daughter, son in law, two of the grandsons and their girl friends It is daughter's youngest's eighteenth.
Aw Bless, BC..... have a wonderful weekend...... it is lovely to spend good time with those we love most, isn't it?
~~~~~~~~~ to Ann as she sails off into the sunset..... have a lovely time..

I lost my internet yesterday... in fact, I lost my pc... son played with it... I was sorting out dinner... he shouted *have you backed up all your photos?* I yelled back... yes, I did this morning, but haven't checked them all yet cos I was having a problem with the pc, I need to check on my laptop first.

So... he had a play. And did a factory restore. And I could sit and sob, because he has lost all my photos... the little external hard drive has all up to November, and a few from over the Christmas period, one of littlie. The rest of the b****y baubles, for goodness sake. None of the others have downloaded. So they have gone. All the Christmas day photos... all the New Year photos... my Moon and Saturn photos... every photo, except about 30 play around ones, that I took using my new camera, and lots that were taken with my old. About 1000 precious photos... and don't start me on about all the scans that I have done over the last few weeks.... gone. All gone... hundreds and hundreds of them, I have been scanning between 50 and 100 most days since Christmas.

I am just so gutted, I could cry.

But I shan't... cos I have been to the Leukaemia clinic, and I am in WONDERFUL condition, lol..... bloods very good, even the platelets the cheeky little devils, have crept up a bit and are almost there... my red blood count is exceptionally healthy... so I don't have to go and see the nice Top Doctor Man again for 10 whole weeks.... slowly but surely we are getting there!

So........ we win some, we lose some.... and we shall take my pc to a PC Doctor to see if any of those photos are lurking somewhere...... you never know, maybe they are!!

I think I shall have a big, big glass of sherry later....... Littlie has gone home to mummy today, and the house is so empty without her!! And I used the *sport* button on the camera yesterday while she was zooming around the garden with her angel wings on.... and they are still in my camera... *huge smile of relief*.... and some of them are absolutely stunning!! *memo to self* always use *sport* button for good action photos of littlie on the move!!

Well.... weather is lovely... and I must go and see if I can find any photos.... fingers crossed everyone! Please!

Love

Oh Daff, good about the blood but the photos - NOT good. That is one of my fears, losing all my photos. I have been trying to scan the thousands of photos we have, 'in case of fire', easier to grab the external hard drive and run than dozens of boxes of photos. To make it easier I am hoping to put them onto DVDs. I did do a lot about a year ago but yesterday I went to town and bought 10 CDs and 10 DVDs and when I tried them not one would work, but a couple I had from over a year ago would. That will be 2 lots of discs going back to the shops. When I get all the photos on discs they will be put in a safe place/given to son to look after.

Best of luck with recovering all the photos.

Huia.

MrDaff Report 6 Mar 2010 10:28

Good morning all..... well, no sign of the photos so far.... still gutted, but not devastated.... it is a shame, as the Christmas ones of littlie were the ones I was most upset about, but I do have the one printed out in a frame, two or three in scrapbook pages which I can re-photo...and R has one which he re-touched for me, due to a snotty nose spoiling a stunning photo, lol... and of course the ones of Mars (I know, I put Saturn, senile moment, I'm afraid, lol) and the moon, which I know that Ann and Jean have the best two of, so that is a comfort... and the New Year ones of son number two, with Big Girl Littlie, and his new family.... well, fortunately, I put those all onto a stick, and sent them to them... so I can get them back... and I can re-scan all the old family photos from years back... I still have the originals and the negatives in many cases, so it is just time that has been lost, not the actual images in that instance.

Everything else is backed up, so I haven't lost it.... I am usually very good about backing my photos up.... but I have been having problems with photos on this pc for a while now.

In fact, I have had a lot of trouble getting the photos that are saved on my my WD external drive back onto this pc... I have managed just 3 photos.... it will not let me unzip files from e-mails, either... *sighs* I wish I wasn't such a computer numpty!

I have managed to get them all very easily onto my XP laptop... which is very old and very slow, lol.... so it has to be something to do with Vista!

PC about to be chucked out of the window after your bag of sugar, Mummo, lolol!!

~~~~~ to Huia.... photos are just something special, aren't they?
Morning Maz... it is sunny here.... I want to read the weather forecast next so that I can work out how I want to play with my weekend... if it is going to be nice tomorrow, we will spend it in the garden... but the house needs a bit of TLC, and I don't want to spend a day that is nice stuck in the house.... and with jobs that hubby needs to help me with, so I can't do in the week when he is at work. So.... we will organise the weekend around the weather.... seems sensible, but instinct and inclination is pushing me to ignore the dust and cat hairs, and go and enjoy the fresh air, lolol!!
Love to you all
