Morning all. Nice day here, bright and fresh. Just back from the park and lots of horse riders and tourists. Hope Daff is having a glitsy time with Littlie and that the day goes well for you all. Was delighted to hear that Mummo's Ed is only wearing a brace in bed and I do hope he does not catch cold...tsk....lol...

Sorry Mummo, hope Ed has a sense of humour! Not sure I would in his position

Good morning all, well, afternoon now... It is beautiful here, sun is shining, but it is a little chilly.

Wmsl Mummo.... Littlie of course... I did ask her very nicely if it was my turn to have a go yet, and she just gave me one of *those* looks!

Ann, she stirred for about 10 minutes last night... then back off to sleep by the time I got in with her sausage and mash from the kitchen... she woke about 11.30, cwtched in with daddy after having some Cheerios and then off to bed... slept until 5, and Jethro woke her up... slept again until 9am... proudly informed me that *mar der bay ad bon, mar dot beed mar meddysiin' took a while for granny to work it out, and she was very patient... but she said her earache has gone, she doesn't need her medicine. She has been bright and sunny to match the weather!

Daddy is doing very well with the no-smoking..... and the bonus is apart from going in to see to Littlie when she wakes in the night..... he isn't wandering the house and switching lights on and off... so we have slept better, too!

Maz, I have noticed that..... also, I didn't need to switch the lights on until just before 5pm yesterday, so it is getting dark later, too... and I have loads of buds on my clematis, and also on my three camellia..... plus all the daffs and early spring bulbs are poking their little heads up.... I just love this time of year, when everything is just waking up, stretching and trying to decide what sort of summer to plan for, lol...... even some of the birds appear to be wooing and cooing!!

We are all off out soon.... if they can get themselves organised... Littlie and I are ready, but the men are still walking around unwashed and half dressed... I can see us girlies throwing a paddy soon... we are supposed to be going out to the park, and then out for lunch! Today, not tomorrow.

ahhhh.... I hear the shower going!!

Speak later... must go and chivvie menfolk!!

love

Good morning, no rain here at the moment but very grey and misreable looking. OH gone to gold, I am still in my nightie (and typing this without my glasses on so hope I don't hit the wrong keys as I don't touch type). Not sure what I am doing, may go into town or may do some craft stuff. One thing I must do is wash my hair, so I will be back later. have a good day everyone.

MrDaff Report 25 Jan 2010 11:15

Gone to gold?????? lolol

Aw BC.... I felt like that today, too.... but who can resist a Littlie whispering sweet nothings designed to get you up and playing, lol

The weekend seems to get shorter and shorter, doesn't it Maz.... maybe when the days are longer, the weekend will feel longer too.... don't think so somehow! Still... half term in about 3 weeks, lol!

We had a meal at the Harvester near one of my sister's.... H.... which was very nice... sister and niece joined us, then we went on to another sister (G) with the promised sewing machine and stuff for niece C, and then sister D arrived with brand new sewing machine in a box, unopened, that D has had for a few years now... but that her own daughter, E, would love to learn how to use..... who'd have families? D was always very competitive... but E is well old enough to be learning how to use a machine with supervision... she will be 11 in a couple of months, and D knew that C was having my machine, lol.... I shan't cause a fuss, but guess who will have my machine soon? lol

Littlie is watching Postman Pat (a nice change from Peppa Pig, lol) so I have a little break... dinner is on, I have a goulash in the slow cooker, so don't need to worry about that later, Madam has eaten two weetabix, a large banana, some grapes, a Clementine, raw carrot and peppers, and a yoghurt... so if she eats nothing else today, I don't mind!

I think B is taking her into Cardiff later... he has old friends from a good few years ago who have a small daughter now... they have all met up a couple of times, and the girls get on well.... that'll give me an hour or so free of my little shadow.... she flits from Daddy to granny constantly... she loves to supervise all my activities, lol

I have a little dilemma to do with her mummy and Littlie's clothes, not entirely sure how to deal with it..... I want to slap mummy, to be honest with you... she is playing games with me, I think, and using a little girl to do so, which I don't like.

I buy new clothes for Littlie every time she stays..... mummy and daddy have a tendency to throw everything into the same wash, so everything ends up a uniform manky grey colour... but one thing I am fussy about is my washing, and what children wear.

However... over the last few visits, I have bought at least 8 pairs of trousers, all in velvets and lined cord, rich jewelled colours, which mummy loves, and of course, these tend to stay the colour they are meant to be, plus half a dozen comfy *chavvy* trousers to wear in the house when she is painting and playing... they look cute, and wash so easily... but each time littlie comes here, she is sent here with ripped, dirty or too small trousers, plus all the vests, t shirts, socks and knickers which have been washed with runny darks.

Not one pair of the good trousers has come back... one pair sent by mummy, I bought for her when she was about 18 months old, and she is now in age 4 to 5!! And not one pair of the Peppa Pig pyjamas came back... I have bought her 4! I had bought her some more, new ones, too, fortunately.

So I end up buying even more than I need to, as I can't bear to see my beautiful girl wearing such awful clothing... oh, and shoved on the radiator any old how to dry, and not ironed, so terribly wrinkled and creased... and uncomfortable, I imagine.

I keep saying that I shall keep her new stuff here, and send home an unopened suitcase each time, but can't bring myself to do it.

Yesterday, I bought her some lovely new outfits... and hubby has actually stepped in and said that they mustn't go back with her... next time she comes we will start on the spring and summer stuff, and that can go back, mostly. But he said we will always keep back some really nice outfits here.

Do you think that is being mean, on our part? I have mentioned it to son... he thinks that it is being done on purpose..... his ex is still asking him to ask me to pay for nursery fees, etc, and is upset that I am not doing so... we used to pay the majority up until littlie got the government funded amount, so she isn't paying any more than she used to.

I dunno.... I don't want to see Littlie go without.... but nor do I want us to be exploited!

Oh well.... here comes madam... she is filthy! lol.... watching PP and has smuggled some felt tips into the lounge, lol... they do wash out, mind!

Off to throw her manky body into the shower......moot point as to who gets the wettest, actually.

Love

I have PMd you daff.

No you are not being mean at all. And of course she is doing it on purpose. Follow your instinct.

Sorry, I meant of course gone to golf, I did say I didn't have my glasses on lol!!!!

Gosh it is bitterly cold out, I am glad I am not out on the golf course.

JustGinnie Report 25 Jan 2010 16:24

Hello all,

Daff I used to have a similar situation with my gr/ch. in that both my Ds are not as fussy with their washing as I am, They both shove all and sundry in to the one wash and never seem to iron things so when I looked after them, on a daily basis and I also took them to school, I kept sets of clothes and school uniform here that I laundered . I hate to see rumpled clothes on littlies. As it is my Ds that did this it is different for you as it is sons ex so you can't say to her what you would say to a daughter. I would go along with the keep good clothes at yours and just send her other things back in the suitcase, but not unopened, perhaps you could take it out and either launder or refold it so the ex can't say why haven't you used it.

Ann I hope you are not too cold and that your OH enjoyed his golf.
The forecast for the weekend is for very cold weather so the heating will take a bashing again .

MrDaff Report 25 Jan 2010 22:12

Evening all.... just popped in to say goodnight!

Ginnie, I usually do that, anyway.... give everything a good wash in that restorer stuff, but I don't always have the energy to do masses... she has a very big suitcase, lol.... and it is easier to re-wash and tumble then fold or iron than it is to try and iron something dreadfully creased... she is such a beautiful child, and it grieves me to see her in shabby looking clothes... even though I know they are virtually brand new! I have to say, I was a bit worried that she might think I was interfering by sending everything back cleaner and ironed, lol..... I know that littlie's clothes are washed regularly... even if they have only been on an hour sometimes... so they are not actually dirty... just grubby looking and unkempt!

Oh well.... as Ann said, I'll play it by instinct!

Off to bed now..... we are all going out tomorrow, not sure where yet... but have to pop to my sister as I left a pair of specs there yesterday.... not like me, eh, Ann? lolol

night night all.... I can barely keep my eyes open!

Good morning all,
Daff, Hope you get your specs ok and have a lovely day out.

BC Have you started moving the stuff out of the room yet, have a nice chatty day with your friend.

What have you planned for today Ann, I have some cards to make and must finish doing the dreaded windows that I started yesterday but only managed the downstairs before I got sidetracked planning a mid break in April/May lol. So easy to be sidetracked sometimes isn't it?
I like living on a main road but do get fed up of net curtains but without them it's a bit like living in a goldfish bowl, (not that I have ever lived in a fishbowl.)

Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing.

MrDaff Report 26 Jan 2010 11:41

Morning all... Ann, I took them off to rub my eyes, they were aching, then Cindy (very large dog) licked them... so niece washed them for me, and as I was being eaten alive by the dogs she put them on the table... and I forgot them.... *sigh* some things never change, do they? Fortunately I have the second pair.... but they are not quite as comfortable as the others.

I took the big gun tabs last night, well, at 4am... and have only just woken up! Littlie was coughing a fair bit... son gave her a dose of Calpol, and she is still sleeping soundly... I had to watch carefully to make sure she was still breathing!

I have just made a nice cuppa, and am back off to bed... son is going to have to go out alone with littlie, granny is going on strike today, lol

BC, it doesn't seem two minutes ago that your chatty Bulgarian was... well chatting nineteen to the dozen, lol

~~~~ to Maz
I am back off to bed now..... I was rudely awoken by the doorbell going.... my new duvet arriving.... so I shall strip and remake.... then cwtch up for another hour, lol
