So pleased that you managed to locate the recipient. Isn't it strange that these days, unlike when I was young, we don't know the surnames of our near neighbours? I have had the same problem in the past, although the phone book located them. Well done GR and the person who looked it up for you.

I reckon it is always easier to do these things yourself, it saves breath and is so much less frustrating.

My next task is to get himself to leave watching sport and come and help re-make the bed!!!!

Good morning, a lovely sunny morning here so far but it looks as though there is black ice around if our drive is anything to go by. No white frost but the invisible sort is worse. supposed to be going shopping but we will wait until midday or a bit later to give the roads time to 'de-ice. Nice to look out of the window and see sun though.

Morning everyone, lol Sun is shining.... it is beautiful here in the conservatory... R has now finished fishing out the biggest network of cobwebs you have ever seen in your life... looked like one of those fleece thingies for protecting delicate plants, lol.... and the biggest spider you ever saw in your life is now busy renewing said network of cobwebs, lol... I am sure I saw it throw a disgusted glare in R's direction, lolol

Windows in here are all now sparkling clean...... we will put up all the garlands after we have had some brunch... which R is currently doing, bacon and egg sarnies, yummy!

I want to try and work out how to use the calendar reminder thingie on here..... I have that many appointments in January and February I can't keep track of them, lol!

~~~~~~ to Mamiddau... pleased you are over your man flu... nasty, isn't it?
Aw Maz, I'm sorry to hear that..... glad the others are all snug and well, though.
Well.... off to graze on my sarnie, lol... it is staring at me, screaming *eat me, eat me* lol
Love
~~~~~ to Joy and ((((((((hugs))))))))) back.

Good morning all... well, what a palaver, lolol

My little car has frozen up solid... hubby and son have spent the last 2 hours trying to defrost it (with salt, not hot water) and have just managed to get the doors open.... and then the stuck again..... wouldn't shut!!

I shall worry, as son is driving up to Scarborough to pick up littlie... they don't come back until Wednesday, so hopefully the weather will be better by then.

He has laughed his head off at me... but I have packed a thermal blanket and a duvet, extra thermal socks and a couple of long sleeved thermal thingies from when hubby was in the Army... a large flask of home made soup, two flasks of coffe, lots of water and fruit juice... and lots of calorie laden foods, pork pies, pasties etc as well as sandwiches... in case he gets stuck somewhere. He might be 36 but I am still his mum, and I still worry.... it is part of the Mum's charter!! ;¬))

The sun is shining now, so hopefully, it will be strong enough to burn off the ice around...

Did anyone see the meteor shower last night? I got up for a pit stop at about 1am, but couldn't see anything...... it was cloudy :¬((

Right.... off for a shower now, and then off to finish the last of the shopping....... well, the prezzie shopping, anyway!

Loads of love

AnninGlos Report 21 Dec 2009 13:40

Hi All, been brave and done a T**** shop this morning, main roads fine but our road is a sheet of ice still and so was T****'s car park when we got there. Had to queue to get to the recylcling machine to put the bottles in, suddenly realised as we were going to bed last night that the bin men were due a day early so T skated iut with the wheelie bin and the box but didn't put the stiff that was indoors into the box, hence taking the bottles as well as plastic to the recycling centre at T*****.

Anyway, that is the shopping done until after Christmas when i will have to get stuff for New Year when daughter and Husband will be here. well hopefully they will, there seems to be some concern at the moment that daughter has swine flu, she ticked all the boxes on line, however she is not convinced it is not just a bad cold without the sneezing though. trouble is she does work in London so i would not be surprised if she did have it.

Hope B will be OK travelling daff you have him well provided for, well done, very sensible and nothing lost if he doesn't need it. Hope he remembers to put hot drinks in when he returns with littly. Did you say it is her Christmas play tomorrow?

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 21 Dec 2009 14:38

Hiya Ann... yes, it is her Nativity tomorrow... she is a little star, lol.... very proud of herself, and I can't wait to see the photos... M's Nativity and party is today..... but S has her party Wednesday morning... they will be coming back here after it!!

R has just gone out to do some shopping... we sent some bits and bobs up there, so that he will cook while he is there, and pop it into the freezer for his ex. I've also sent a cool box full of spagh bol, chicken curry, and lamb stew.... so we are running out of stuff, now, lol... just the basics... I don't take sugar, but both my fellas have a sweet tooth... and both drink a lot of coffee.... and B has taken more or less the last of the sugar and coffee with him to make up his flask on the way back... and yep, I have sent him soup to heat up for the journey back, plus littlies favourite bits and pieces to snack on..... and my debit card in case of emergency, as well....

Maz, sorting out the wedding stuff must be exciting, too!!

I have solved the dilemma of a reasonable prezzie for son no 2 and his new partner... they don't live together, and I have only just met them, so couldn't think what to get.... so had a brainwave... I have bought them tickets to see Holiday on Ice in Liverpool at the end of January.... and have tucked a cheque into a card to pay for a family meal and the petrol to get there... And, had a brainwave while I was on the phone... R is being very difficult... he has given me three very small items on his wish list... but last night, we watched Wales Children in Need show from Cardiff.... and there was a guy singing that beautiful haunting song from Les Miserables... the one about sending his son back to him cos he's only a boy.

Well.... hubby said that of all productions going on, that is one that he would really like to see... so I have booked us in at Bristol in July... the first night, and we will have a slap up meal while we are out, as well.... I have got him a few cd's and dvd's as well, and his slippers will hopefully be in his size next time I pop over to Asda (he likes a specific type!!)....... so that is him sorted, phew!! I am going to look online for one more item.... but it probably won't be here before Christmas... so he can have that on our 2nd *Christmas* at New Year.

Right... I can hear the rustle of plastic bags, so it sounds like he is back... although that might be Jethro up to mischief.... he really has had it on him today!! lol

Take care

Love

It is called, Bring Him Home Daff, a lovely haunting song.

MrDaff Report 21 Dec 2009 15:01

That's the one, Ann.... as you know, I don't really fancy Les Mis..... but he really does fancy seeing it, so I will suffer, lolol

And I have just ordered him a gadget that will transfer all his LP's onto disc.... so that is good!! lol

It was Jethro rummaging around in the kitchen, not R coming back, by the way... that cat!! I told him off this morning for trying to climb into my handbag, which was hanging on the back of my computer chair... well, the handbag slid off, he landed in a heap, and blames me for the undignified landing, lolol... and so he is paying me back by being into everything ever since!! He sooooo makes me smile, though.....

Afternoon all, wasn't on much this morning as we had friends round for coffee.

Glad B got there OK Daff, hope BP was OK.

Hope your eye clears up properly Jean, horrible when your eyes are sore, I don't look forward to having eye problems over christmas, I am allergic to son's 2 cats unfortunately and they make my eyes itch very badly. I will take anti itch drops with me.
