Glad your home safe Anng and what a nice thing to find all your bulbs out in the garden to welcome you home with their bright little faces.
Iv'e bee sorting things out in the uti room as its been too cold for me outside today and oh was pressure washing the decking as he has taken down the gazebo and put the hot tub away up the cravan I think. Loads of space up there now. I was going to move my lights onthe new fencing but the wind was bitter so there is always another day.
Vera hope you sleep better tonight after last night disturbance.
Well better cok some noodles as we have sweet and sour chicken tonight and I will cook some rice too and oh can do his egg fried riceand I have some pancake rolls in the freezer so they can go in the oven with the chicken.

That's good you had a pleasant journey home AnnG and a little Robin singing you a nice song! That's good the rambler was sorted by your SIL, one job less!
I had 'intentions' of doing a short stint outside but decided it was too cold too Mel. Your meal sounds nice. I have reached the point where I get fed up of trying to think of different meals that are quick to get. Tomorrow, because I won't be finished till lunch time, we are having jacket pots with cottage cheese, salad and home made coleslaw.
Vera, what a disturbed night you had. It sounded like here when Mr 'O' across the road starts his van up with headlights glaring through our windows and leaves it like that while he loads it up for ten minutes. I hope the chap will be ok. It sounds like a wonder they have escaped covid with all the comings and goings!
The neighbours were cleaning their caravan when OH fetched the bins in and called across that they had had their second jabs, so maybe we will be called for ours soon as they went for the first about a week ahead of me and the man is a week older than me.
I see that the Palace is concerned about Prince Philip who has been moved to another hospital. I hope he's ok and will reach his 100th birthday, so he gets a card from his wife!

good morning, a bit foggy out, hoping for a fine morning, two things to do today, visit the garden centre and colect Tony's ashes. Looking forward to the first a bit apprehensive about the second. Slept quite well last night. Now about to wash. change the duvet cover while they are here to help.

Morning Anng and all,
I had a lie in this morning and got up and made a cuppa and oh had cleaned the inside of the windows in the kitchen. Sat down to log in and got the fright of my life. He started on the outside and on the one window I sit under squirting the hose on it made so much noise I jumped out of my skin. Now he has just come in and told me its raining.......... I knew he had done the inside because my hares are ont he kitchen tabl;e and he bought himself cleaning cloths last week but micro fibre ones and I can't touch those cos they stick to my hands.
Its sort of bright out there but has rained a little bit.
You'll enjoy the garden centre today Anng so treat yourself to some nice plants or perhaps you will get treated.
Hope you all slept well or as well as can be expected. I went earlier last night and dropped off right away. Oh had said to have a lie in so I took him up on it.

Morning AnnG, Mel and all
I had a better night last night. At least OH and I were still in the same room this morning :-).
It’s grey and cold today. We’ve had a few spits and spots of rain but nothing very much. When I got up this morning I fully intended to do lots of h/w but I can’t seem to get motivated and have just fiddled about doing odd jobs. This afternoon I am going to pot on some cuttings into larger pots. They are a lovely yellow argyranthemum and we put three in the garden last spring and they bloomed right through to about November. They are a perennial but they are a bit tender and I wasn’t sure they would survive the winter so I took 6 cuttings. 1 died but the other 5 are now nice plants but they are still in small pots and dry out too quickly and having nursed them all winter I don’t want to lose them now.
Nothing else to report. Lunch will be the rest of the leek and potato soup I made yesterday. I bought a tin once and it was awful; a tasteless liquid with chunks of potato in it. We like it smooth and a bit peppery. I’ve taken some tuna from the freezer for tonight.

Pleased that you had a good night or a better one vera.
Weather not very nice here. We got a few plants (well daughter got more than a few plus some hardware but then they do have a new garden. I just bought three primula plants to brighten up a pot but can't put them in oiw as it is drizzling.
We have just collected the ashes. i eally had no idea how heavy they would be or how big the container. for a while he is back where he belongs, in his office. Strangely, under the banter, I found it quite emotional. <3

I feel for you Ann <3 I found that I didn't want to have much to do with the ashes.( perhaps it brought home the reality of the facts too much?)
Your new plants will make a colourful addition, when you can get them planted.

Afternoon All,
It looks like we all slept quite well last night, me included. Another dull day with no sunshine!
OH has been irritating today! With not eating out now he washes up the steamer, mixing bowls etc after lunch and plays his CDs while he does it which is fine. We have very different tastes in music, but it doesn't matter as I'm at the other end of the bungalow and he keeps the volume down. Now he has taken to wandering around and bursting into one line of songs!! Sometimes it interrupts me as I think he is talking to me or wants me and I have to go and check. I'm not encouraging him as it was a habit his dad had. I shall never forget sitting in a theatre in London watching Phantom of the Opera and wandering, as did other members of the audience who were discreetly turning their heads, where the strange noise was coming from! I think MIL noticed after a while and poked him in the ribs.
Vera, you seem to be more motivated than me. I think I have lost some geraniums I put in the greenhouse, unless they sprout from the stems soon. If it warms up a bit I'll get OH to set the jet washer up for me. He would do it only he leaves patches everywhere as he's too impatient. He's done quite a bit of the weeding though and cleared up twigs and stalks. I must see if I can get a couple of largish plastic pots for the courgettes this year. I think 2 instead of the 3 we grew last year will be enough for us and we want to clear the old raised beds this year so can't use those again.
The Primulas will look pretty AnnG. I think Mel got some recently didn't she. I must check if my little purple Alpine ones have put in an appearance yet. That is a good place to put T's ashes. He would like that I think. Have you decided yet where they will be scattered? OH used to say he wanted his scattering on the footie ground of his local club. I used to laugh and say it would be houses there by then and he could be in a garden.......guess what, it is all houses now!
Edit, just seen your garden pics and it looks so lovely and uplifting! As I replied to you I love the colour of that Hellebore!

Yes that Hellebore T’s favourite, it is lovely., so pleased with the garden and mixed feelings as he would have loved it too.
Oh Annx that would be very irritating, to have him bursting into song. Tell him you will confiscate his CDs if he continues :-D
Must check the conservatory, I noticed I might have lost a small fuschis that was over wintering in there.
Daughter has helped me change the duvet cover today so much easier with two of us.

I think thats a good place to put T's ashes in his study Anng. He would have liked that. Yes ti was me that bought two Primulas down the shop on Saturday. They are so cheery little flowers I can't resist them. I have proper primroses in the little wood at the end of our little field so I should go round there and see if they are flowering yet. I know the mauve ones at the edge of the wood are flowering as I saw them when I took the chickens mess round to put on the bonfire.
My meat pie has turned into stewed steak, carrots, onions, mushrroms and parsnip with dough boys as I could'nt be bothered to make the pastry and dumplings are so easy to do and not much washing up. We will have it with sprouts and mash.
Glad you all had a better night last night and fancy Vera waking up next to hubby for a change. <3 <3 I bet it was nice and cosy being together too.
Ann you saying about G singing his songs reminded me of when my son was down here and mowing with his headphones on and the funny sound as he drove past all out of key.

Morning Anng and all,
You're going to be busy today I see with that lot to do. So dark here I have had to turn the light on. Mistyish outside too and very grey. Looks like there's no wind again today which is good.
I think the library are coming today so I must gather up my books ready to go back.

I am struggling a bit, missing my company, the house seems so empty. Mainly it is daughter I am missing to chat to as she is good company. I have stripped their bed and it is in the wash, also tidied out a shelf in T's office, mainly to find a temporary home for his ashes on a shelf. and I have swept the lounge floor of crumbs, need to get the cleaner out later maybe but it is clean for now. I have also done the Tesco order and remembered to do a bank transfer for grandson's birthday so I have done a bit.
Shame the weather is not nice it is sort of drizzling but more like heavy damp in the air, not conducive to getting out in the garden unfortunately

Good morning all,
Sorry I didn't post yesterday, just didn't feel like it. Not much better today.
Ros just went to get something from the Freezer in the kitchen and it seems as though it's packing up.I will check the fuse, and if it's not that, then we must think of getting another Freezer. Come to think of it. We have a CHEST FREEZER in the garage, so do we need another in the kitchen, other than for convenience. I will see what madam says.
Green thumb have been this morning. They have put down a new treatment, that you can't walk on the lawn for two hours, as it will turn your shoes BRIGHT ORANGE.
I am getting so bored being indoors all the time. I think I will get Ros to take me out for a ride around the Countryside.
Stay safe all. xxxx

Morning Mel and AnnG,
I slept well once I got off to sleep and was up earlier today as OH is attending an online seminar. We are expecting a parcel of socks and pants for OH to arrive from M&S today, so I may need to answer the door!
It is very dark here too Mel and looks like it may rain. I think we are due frosts at the weekend too. I need to put the washer on once OH has finished and Cod Mornay ready meals with extra veg will do us today as OH has more meetings later. How are your bites now? Don't forget the Library!
I see you have done a few jobs already AnnG. I have started a new 'to do' list, things I must do like OH's car insurance and change my bank account. Today I need to order some more watercolour paint. The greens and browns are getting a bit thin with all the landscapes we've been doing. I am getting it in tubes I think as I read a tip that said if you squeeze the tubes into the hole that comes where you use it in your palette it will set hard like the rest. I like that idea as tubes can be wasteful otherwise. I also need anothe size brush as I have been managing with just three. Then I want to see if I can find a couple of new tops to order. I remember finding the house very quiet when my first OH and I parted company. I was working full time, but there were some weekends when I didn't see anyone at all.
Well, better get on with something or it will be a day wasted!! :-) I know what you mean about feeling lazy Mandy! lol. I seem to do less HW now than when I was out most days. It's more satisfying to make something instead!

Oh AnnG i do feel for you ,would it help a little to have the radio on just for a bit of background noise ,my friend use to do that and found it help just to break the silence in the house .
Frank what ever is in the treatment that would turn your shoes orange ,good job its not summer and your not waling over he grass in bare feet ,it would look like your feet have been tangoed :-D Roll on the better weather so you can try the scooter out .
Ann there was a time when you had to keep in because a parcel was coming now it doesn't matter because we never go out , i don't think we have ever had so any parcels delivered ,when we want some thing i just send son a message and he soon sorts it for us ,last week i had elastic, little mini clips for my sewing and a couple of big tins of coffee that we like ,son likes it to so we gave him one .
Well i haven't been as lazy as i said ,i dusted the bedrooms and had a good hoover through up stairs so not to bad ,no sewing done today .
Mel did you get to the library van .
Oh i see EOS is on another thread so she must be ok ,now we just need to know how Gill is .

Ann, your paintings just get better and better. I just showed your latest one to OH who commented “she’s b....y good isn’t she”. That really is praise as usually if he likes something he just says it’s alright.
AnnG I was going to say the same as Mandy - have a radio or TV on in the background. I do feel for you. It will take time to adjust so be kind to yourself.
Did you get to the library van Mel? We can order books from our library and then go and collect them but there’s no browsing at the moment. I haven’t been in the library for a good year now but I’ve got the Libby app on my iPad so I can borrow ebooks on that.
It’s been a grey and cold day with rain on and off. Pretty miserable really. Between us we dusted and vacced right through this morning. This afternoon I decided to have a bath as a change from showering but I’m wondering how much longer I’ll be able to do that. Our bath is deep and it’s getting harder to get out of it these days. Poor old lady. We had a shepherd’s pie tonight but I’m already wondering what we can have tomorrow.

I am not a fan of the radio as if it is talking I can’t hear it properly. I did have it on for a while and also had the Tv on for a while. When I am less sensitive I will play CDs but I was mostly ok this afternoon. Hoping the weather will be ok tomorrow so I can maybe do a bit in the garden after the shopping arrives.
