T just phoned. He spoke very clearly and said he was just going to the bathroom to wash and shave and clean his teeth which would help him to speak more clearly. He said he walked a bit yesterday and will do more today and he said the nurse explained (he said she gave him earache) that he would walk better if he ate more but he said it was hard. He said he was missing fruit which is what he needed. He said he would try and get some there. He said in the room he is now it is difficult to reach the charger, not sure what he meant. He also said he went somewhere yesterday. Not sure what that meant either. Strange that he seems to have bounced back with a vengeance. I wonder if they have moved him and he has a better nurse. I wonder if he was in a Covid area after the positive test on the 27th because that would be a week. The problem with talking to him is he talks and doesn’t wait for a reply. I think there is a lag on his mobile as he often talks before I finish talking. A bit frustrating but at least he phoned.

Pretty sure he is still in Gloucester Mel. We won’t get too excited as he still has all his original problems the main one now being the lung cancer but it is a bit of a reprieve. If he goes back to not drinking as well as not eating and they stop giving him fluids then he will get dehydrated again and back to square one. Meanwhile it is good to have the occasional chat.

Evening All,
Well, what a shock but nice to hear from T like that AnnG and I see it wasn't a one off as he rang you again today. Out of bed for a little potter too so that is amazing. I hope he continues to pick up and hopefully starts to eat again. Glad your order came and is sorted now. They said Brexit might affect veg availability didn't they?Ours comes between 9.00am and 10.00am tomorrow. I must be mad having it so early, as we can't get up before 10.00am lately, but I thought it would be good to have it sorted early on so the rest of the day is free. We are setting 2 alarm clocks tonight!
Mandy Fitz's house is a lovely barn conversion and big like you say. I went there once with Jane to meet him and for a bite to eat. Well it turned out to be quite a buffet really and very enjoyable and where I first tried those wet walnuts. It's in a lovely peaceful spot, although I think some of the new building going on will be along the little lane that goes up to it.
Gill it sounds like Sandra is a bit of a handful, especially where her phone is concerned. I hope she has learned her lesson about taking it in the bath now. How nice you have a new twig to add to your three! :-)
I have been busy doing my painting and it's coming along quite well with most of the building done. Quite a bit left to do though with all the background and it is where I get nervous in case I spoil it with not concentrating! :-0 Hubby keeps coming in to look, which I'd rather he didn't till I finish for the day.
With being busy today, our few decs will be put away tomorrow afternoon now. Looking for a replacement lightbulb for the second bedroom OH found some little lights I bought ages ago. I can put them on the twig tree before it's put away, instead of having several small sets with all the battery packs that have to be switched on/off with those.
Today I booked a free 2 hour course on zoom about mind sets and diets! I wanted to book one on Botanical Drawing, but it is the same day as one of my other painting courses and I don't think my eyes and concentration can manage 2 in a day, plus the extra homework to do.
Tomorrow I must start on my 'to do' list again. There is always so much that needs doing! My knee is slowly improving so I should manage a quarter of an hour in the garage to find some more rubbish for the binmen on Tuesday! I can sort and OH will bin things.
Glad your arm is slowly improving Mel and I hope yours does soon after the sofa day Island!
Off to bed now so I hope the non sleepers have a better night.

Oh has gone to bed and now I am going to watch a bit of telly. So will say goodnight for now and see you all in the morning.
I don't like this new keyboard as I keep hitting the wrong keys.
Night night all sleep as well as you can and sweet dreams and hope you all feel better in the morning.

Good morning all, grey but so far dry 1 degrees out there, strange as at 0445 it was 2 degrees. no frost as far as I can tell though. Had shower and washed my hair but now having a COT before going down for breakfast. My hair is very thick but I have noticed I am losing a bit more than usual, not sure whether it is the stress of having to stay in or having the worry over T.
Daughter and SiL were going to come at the weekend (we are a bubble so it would be allowed) However, thinking about it I have suggested we leave it until after I have had the vaccine (I think it takes about 3 weeks before it actually works, anyone know?) She would be very upset if I caught it after they had been here. Although it would probably be safe, they don't go out and about, he goes to the shop once a week and they do have a test each they could use first, but I worry about they travelling as well. Needless to say I am disappointed. And I have not seen her answer yet, she will be disappointed as well.

Morning Everyone,
Didn't sleep too well with getting up early for the delivery which should be here soon I hope. They are usually early but not today. Plenty of frost on the rooftops and OH said it was cold outside and raining when he first got up so I'm surprised to see frost.
Frank, better to not drink at all with all your medication and having panic attacks. I'll say no more. What a shame you couldn't eat your dinner as it sounded really nice.
Mel, I need to get a new laptop as I now have no letter T, N or A as the letters have worn off. Is your new keyboard one of those ergonomic ones?
It's looking like there will be a national lockdown announced soon. Police had to break up an off road biker meeting in Northants in Tier 3. People had travelled 70 miles from Tier 4 areas to join it. What is wrong with these people!!

I love your Snowdrops AnnG! Yes I seem to think they said 3 weeks after the first vaccine for it to be fully effective. I don't blame you all for being extra careful just now. Better to be disappointed than take any extra risk even if they are small. I am going to cancel my appointment at hospital for my knees that's due in 3 weeks, as I'd rather carry on as I am till I feel safer. It will probably be cancelled anyway as the hospitals are filling up with covid patients, but, if not, they will have time to give the appointment to someone else.

Morning Anng, Ann and all,
All the A's this morning. Funny day here as its bright out the back and grey out the front. The difference between north and south. We get it a lot. 5 degrees today.
Need to get the decs down today if I can as I have the delivery tomorrow and the big wipe down. We hav,nt had one for a fortnight and I still hav'nt heard about the two bottled of wine I sent back. I expect they went home with the driver cos he definately did'nt refund them do we are £12 light.
I like your double snowdrops too Anng. I kept thinking mine had af ew out but it wads daisies. I must go and have another look as they are usually out in December to start with. I have some special ones in pots I rescued from the church gate two years ago. They were all lying on the grass by the gate. They have broad leaves. Erica and Andy gave me some once, just two bulbs, and they were planted in the bit of garden I had around by the bedroom window but they disappeared when oh took the bank out. Shame as they had mutiplied a lot and I had quite a clump in the end. Even gave my SIL a couple of bulbs and she lives in Wasebridge so they have been well travelled over the years.
I have a few double ones in the orchard and a few under the box hedge but they are mostly singles.

The snowdrop is not out yet Mel, If you read the bottom of my posts it explains the photo.
I too love snowdrops and look forward to seeing them and the Helebores showing their flowers. We do have one white Helebore out, this one was self sown and I think is a Christmas Rose.
I have tidied and dusted downsatirs so we are all clean there now all the decs are packed away, looks a bit drab, I have always hated January nad not much more keen on February, this year, of course, it seems worse than ever. I wish we could have a glimpse of sun, we had a showe about half an hour ago but it is dry again now and 4 degrees, temp is going up and down today, it was 6 just now.

Good morning to you all,
I had a phone call yesterday afternoon from the RAF Benevolent people, to say they would be calling this morning with two scooter's for me to try. One was far to heavy for Ros or I to lift into the boot. The other was fine. Delivery will be six to eight weeks. It can sit in the boot of the car, the battery just lifts out for charging. It will give me a bit of freedom, from being indoors all the time.
We have been to the Post Office to send Ros's Bracelet away for repair, after it being dragged off her wrist into the shredder. It''s all covered by the house insurance.
Bitterly COLD OUT this morning. What with standing out with the couple who bought the scooter's, I was frozen to the core. !!!!
Ros is making a coffee and a nice CRAB sarnie for me. Then I will endeavour to finish my book this afternoon.Only a few chapters left.
I hope you are all well. Please take care when out. xxx

That's good you will be getting a scooter now Frank. It will mean you can go for a spin when you want to and will be arriving nicely in time for Spring! :-) What a shame about Ros's bracelet. At least it damaged the bracelet and not her hand.
Well the delivery came within the slot time after all and is all wiped and squirrelled away. It was a smaller amount this time and I must pay more attention when ordering as I managed to order 2 bunches of bananas again instead of 2 individual ones......I don't often eat bananas either because of the sugar content! I did the same with parsnips too and I don't eat many of those either for the same reason! No subs this time though and nothing out of stock which is good.
Back to my painting now as we decided we can't face taking the decs down and putting them in the loft till tomorrow after dealing with the shopping today. I have just snaffled a few Quality Street. OH doesn't even know I have opened them yet! :-D I had 4 little square paint blocks come to fit in my paint box in case I run out on these courses I'm doing. They are smaller than postage stamps yet came in an A4 size packet!! :-0

T just phoned, it was so tiring but I think I got most of the gist of it. He came through on my mobile that time, luckily I had it with me upstairs.
He says he is doing more 'things' now, I think he said walking, but he did say trying to eat more and drinking milk. He certainly seemed switched on, but he didn't have his teeth in he has not got any of the poly whatever it is with him, he says he will try to sort it so maybe they can help with that. I think he must have been thinking/maybe worrying about the virus and me because He started the conversation by saying 'Are you alright?' Then after a lot of talk some of which I got some I didn't, he said 'have you seen the doctor'. I asked him if he meant his doctor there he said no, so process of elimination I just said do you mean the vaccination? I have to wait for a letter. he then said Oh. OK. But I don't really know what he meant. Conversations (which are better than nothing) are a bit hit and miss.

Afternoon all,
We've had sunshine and showers today at times the sky has been so black we've had to have the light on . I went to Aldi this morning to get a few bits, milk mainly as we were down to the last dregs ,it was very quiet i think mainly because the children are not in school so mums were not shopping . Sons oldest two have two weeks of on line learning and the other two girls have the same but they didn't know until yesterday ,Lewis's school is open but they decided they wouldn't send him and would keep them all safe at home ,when son went into work he told them they wouldn't be sending Lewis and the teacher said i don't blame you ,i do think we're in for another lock down ,i see Boris should be on at eight o'clock tonight so we'll know more then . The head teacher told son that they had had so many parents texting and being so rude to them but they were told it was up to them to decide if they felt the school was safe to open and if they had enough staff then they could open .
Frank that's good you will soon have the scooter to get you out and about ,you'll need to do a few laps round your close to get the feel of it . How did Ros catch her bracelet in the shredder ,better her bracelet though than her hand or arm .
Oh Ann didn't you do that with the bananas once before lol i can see another banana loaf being made . Fancy sending the little paint blocks in that size envelope ,perhaps that was all they had at the time .
AnnG i would have been nice for you to have seen your daughter and SIL but you and them have kept safe all this time t's not worth the risk . Do you have the FB messenger ,son sorted it for us to use ,it's lovely to see them and talk to the children that way ,we had quite a chat to with them yesterday Lewis was showing us all his new Lego models he had for christmas . Chelsea had lost her socks i bought her for chistmas so i had to rummage through the two bin bags of christmas wrapping paper that we put in the shed until the bin has been emptied as we wondered if they had been scoped up with the rubbish but there was no sign of them so goodness knows what she's done with them .
AnnG how lovely to hear T has been walking that must have been a surprise to hear lets hope he continues to be able to do a little walk each day to get some strength back ,fingers crossed he can .

Another day of miserable weather. It’s been grey and showery all day and some of the showers have been quite heavy.
I’ve got quite a lot done today. I’ve changed the bedding on two beds, done 3 loads of washing, done all sorts of odd cleaning jobs and taken down all the cards and bits of decorations I had around. I’ve still got the tree to do but we’ll do that tomorrow. It looks too pretty to take down until the last minute.
That’s good that you’ve got a scooter now Frank. You’ll be able to have a gentle pootle about when you feel like it but we don’t want you turning into a boy racer lol. And no drink-driving. Be a good boy and just enjoy it.
It’s good to hear that T. Is showing some improvements and is feeling more upbeat AnnG. It must be difficult for you if you can’t hear him clearly but it sounds as though he was asking if the doctor had been in touch about your vaccination. Our son keeps asking whether OH has had it yet as his fil had his first jab three weeks ago and has an appointment, I think, today for the second one. All we have had here is an announcement in the local paper asking us not to contact our doctor, pharmacy or hospital.
Did your OH get his 2nd jab Gill? I don’t understand people being given an appointment and then having to stand outside in a queue for hours. It doesn’t seem to make sense.
Mandy, I don’t blame your son and dil for keeping Lewis at home, particularly if the older ones are not in school. Parents can be quite nasty to staff as well. My daughter has had quite a lot of abuse at times. They don’t seem to realise that schools get no advance warning but every time Boris makes a change to who can or can’t go to school and how many can be in a room at a time, a new timetable needs to be drawn up. That’s no mean feat for a school of 1600 pupils, aged 11-18. My daughter was even getting emails and texts about it on Christmas Day..
I know I shouldn’t laugh but I did smile at Chelsea losing her new socks. It’s the sort of thing our youngest granddaughter does.
Mel, my jelly set well. I had put it into four ramekins rather than a big bowl as I thought it would set quicker. I turned a ramekin out into a desert bowl, put sliced banana round it and sprinkled the banana with just a tiny bit of rum. I then put it in front of OH and told him it was “Caribbean Delight”. It went down very well.
I guess Boris might be announcing a new lockdown in his television address tonight. It will hardly make any difference to us except there might be a bit more of a scramble for grocery slots and I’ll miss my hair appointment again so I’ll be a tatty bonce again.
I suppose I had better go and prepare some veg for dinner It’s meat pie tonight but not home made I’m afraid. I don’t do spuds if we have pastry but I like plenty of other veg. I’ll do cabbage and carrots and probably leeks or cauliflower.
OH has just decided to make a late afternoon cuppa and brought in some choccy biscuits so dinner prep will have to wait a bit longer.

I came unstuck or rather I almost did with Tesco slots, no excuse I pay for priority slots and can book up to four weeks in advance. I had one for the 10th and thought I had another one. I had not booked anything and the first one I could get was 24th and then I had 29th so will have to balance out what I buy when. Son10th could be a big one to last two weeks. I was amazed at how many slots were booked already. I obviously got confused over Christmas

Lovely to hear you have had another call from T Anng. He sounded as if he had quite a bit to say too. Did you mean Polygrip for his teeth? There is also Fixadent which I use sometimes but I find it hard to remove it from the roof of my mouth. Hospitals ususally have a shop with those sort of things in them. Are they taking part of his pension now?
I wonder if Chelsea has put those new socks in a pocket??? When I lived in the cottage in Suffolk I used to put my socks on the stairs to take up when I went. If I had a new pair they would always disappear for a while and then reappear back on the stairs later on. I love pretty socks. Chelsea needs to ask can I have them back please three times. It works for me and it has worked for Vera too.
There will be no stopping Frank on his new scooter once the weather gets better. He will need to have a little go around the close though to get used to it as Mandy said. I have had a go on a couple here around the garden when someone stayed with us who had one and we borrowed one from a friend acroos the way when we had oh's sister down incase she needed it when we went to Rosemoor.
I am going to cook tonight but oh will have to do the rice. I am going to make a chicken curry, think I can manage that as he has been so good these past weeks.
Just finished the shopping order for tomorrow so do hope we don't get any subs as his ciggs are on there and my tobacco.
I am back to typing with two hands and its so much better and quicker. I have hated doing the one finger thing. Also getting used to the new keyboard now but have to be wary of the Ctrl cos if I hit that I lose the lot.
I have taken all the decs off the tree and the decs down in the hall and the little loo and most of the cards are down. I still hav'nt done the garland under the windowsill but have taken some bits off it. Oh got the garland over the double doors sown for me so I think the rest wil come down tomorrow now and he can get them put back up the loft.
I have stuck some leaves back on my berry branches so they will be ready for next year now and I still have room in the box for the pom pom card hangers.
