Ah sorry, I am fine I had a few things to sort out and was waiting for a phone call from OH to do with those. Got more or less sorted now and a parcel packed up ready for somebody to take to the hospital. Trouble is all the dirty clothes are sitting in the hospital with nobody as yet to get them to me. So as we have run out of underwear I have just had to order some from M&S.
Also trying to sort out things for when he eventually comes home. We need two higher toilet seats and one stand of a different kind to the one they brought before. All very complicated. :-)
Frank you and my OH make a good pair, so far he has not broken anything when falling, hope he doesn't as well. Hope you can get the ribs properly strapped up. Was it a bath mat that you tripped over? Maybe leave it without a mat as you are prone to tripping.

O Frank not another fall and to do it in the loo too. I hope you hear from the doc soon and can get seen by someone. Its good Ros strapped yu up but it dos'nt sound like it has eased any of your pain. I think the best thing Ros can buy you for Christmas is a crash hat you can wear al the time.
Well I did the BIG wipe down and it was a big one this week. It took me till 1.16pm to get it all done and away. A few Christmas bits on it so not too bad I suppose.

Afternoon All,
A dullish day again today. I have been busy the last 2 days, 2 painting classes yesterday, the last of the Beginners Watercolour, then Snowy Landscapes in the afternoon. This morning it was Christmas Card ideas, then a Hospital zoom meeting group with a lady I know well who was talking about vaccination trials and her experience of taking part in a Bird Flu trial herself. That was at lunchtime . May as well make the most of all this time at home!
Frank I worry you will do yourself some serious damage with these mats. It was a mat you tripped over in the bedroom recently wasn't it. When OH cracked his ribs many years ago they said they just strap them up and let them heal on their own, but I don't suppose you know what exactly you have done without being seen.
Well fireworks are slowly petering out round here. It's been Diwali celebrations following Bonfire Night. I expect that was the reason for 3 carloads of people visiting the Asian house a few days ago. :-S Rules don't seem to matter to some.
I hope you do better than I have trying to order OH pants from M&S AnnG! I still get no response to asking for my password to be reset. I hope T has some news for you today on his back and headaches.
These wipe down sessions don't half come around quickly don't they Mel! Such a nice feeling when it is all done and put away though.
We walked up to the post box at the other end of the close to post a letter earlier and there is an Oak tree the field side and there were lots of acorn shells under it. I was hoping to collect a few to do something with but it looks like the Squirrels beat me to it!
Back to ordering some things online now!

Annx I had no trouble ordering him pyjamas and pants it all went through ok.
It looks like OH may be home tomorrow, docs say he is medically fit to go although he still had to see the OT about stuff he needs in the house. Nothing has been done about his back and head except to give him paracetamols. I don’t really know how I feel about him coming home, be pleased to see him but still nervous about his balance. Daughter conveyed all this to the physio when she spoke to him in my place. Anyway will know more when he phones I expect that is if The phones behave. Both mobiles have played up.

Afternoon all or is it evening now?
Frank, what are we going to do with you? You can’t keep getting battered about like that. It’s so easy to trip on a mat. Do you think it would be better to get rid of them? If you want a bathmat to step on when you get out of the shower you could hang it somewhere and just put it down when you shower. I’m not sure they even strap ribs these days. OH cracked a rib a while ago and a neighbour had a fall a couple of months ago and damaged some ribs but neither were strapped. They are painful but do heal on their own. However, someone should look at you and decide if you need anything done. I’m really surprised your doctor’s surgery or 111 hasn’t been more helpful. I’ve had excellent service from 111. I hope the pain has eased a bit for you now. Take care. I’m sending you a very gentle (((hug))) <3
Have any of the hospital doctors talked to OH about his head and back yet AnnG? I hope they are at least keeping him comfortable.
Ann, you are always so busy with your courses that you put me to shame. I sometimes can’t even think what I have done with my day but I seldom seem to do anything very creative.or productive, yet I don't just blob about and I don’t watch much television. Perhaps I am just a slow old dodderer.
Yes, wipe downs do come round quickly. I had a big Tesco one yesterday and by the time I finished my back was “giving me what for”, as my Dad used to say. It’s been bad again all today. An hour ago I walked to the postbox and I must have looked a right sight as I was limping along dragging my bad foot with a hand behind me supporting my bad back. Poor old soul ;-). It’s only a bit down the road but I met two acquaintances who wanted to chat and standing is the worst thing for the back and the foot. They probably thought I was being rude but I had to excuse myself and get home. I’m now lying on the bed supported by pillows.
OH has had sore, bleeding gums on one side of his mouth for a little while now but didn’t even tell me until a couple of weeks ago when he asked if we had any sort of mouthwash. When I found out why he wanted it I sent him out to buy some Corsodyl but it hasn’t helped at all so this morning he rang the dentist and she is seeing him tomorrow morning to assess what the problem is. Although it’s expensive I am glad we go to a private dentist as friends tell me you have to wait months to get an NHS appointment round here and then you never see the same dentist twice.
I usually get Christmas cards from the pop-up Cards for Good Causes shop in town but that’s not on this year so I ordered cards and several stocking fillers online from them. I like to buy from them because I know the percentage of the profits going to the charities is always a minimum of 70% and normally a great deal more. So many of these “charity” card companies give very little to charity. My stuff all arrived today and I was really pleased as there was a slip of paper in the bag saying that 100% of the profits were going to the relevant charities.
I hope everyone has a good night’s sleep and wakes up bright eyed and bushy tailed and Elizabeth, no throwing bricks at the telly. Control yourself, woman.
EDIT. I missed your post AnnG. I see OH may be home tomorrow. It does seem odd that nothing is being done about his back and head but in a way it’s reassuring in that they can’t be too concerned about it. Try and make sure he stays hydrated as that wIll help his balance and his head.

Looks like it may be all change here again as the latest suggestion is that OH transfers to the local community (cottage) hospital. Nothing definite yet but we are both agreeable to that if it happens. Maybe in a smaller place it will become apparent how bad his back is. Still no visiting of course but not far away for when there is. Not sure how long this will be for. Sad not to be seeing him but many people are in the same situation. With Covid.
Vera hope your back soon eases.

Its good oh may be nearer to you in the cottage hospital and as you say perhaps they may notice just how much pain he's in. I really don't understand how he can be in a hosp. and they not take any notice of his back seeings as he is falling over sometimes. That could be due to his back with the syatic nerve???? I know with this corvid all staff are very busy but you'd think they would want to get to the bottom of his problems and get him back home and out of pain. I am just exasperated :-S :-S :-S
Had a lazy afternoon after this morning. I did my desk this mornng before the shopping arrived putting lots of stuff away, filling up pill pots and dusting and cleaning the screen. Hoovered the kitchen and wiped down all the surfaces with dettol anti bac and put some ironing away and the washing on the airer as it was too wet outside with the wind blowing the rain under the roof bit.
So thats two of us Ann doing lots this morning. It sounds like your getting lots of painting done so yu must be enjoying it. Whats G up to?
No Island for a few days hope she's ok and not laid up in pain again. Sending love to you and Doggie. XX
Hope too that Gills ok and enjoyed the race on Sunday. Was'nt it slippy? Cars all over the place.
Vera I hope hubby can get something done about his bleeding gums if the Corsodyl is'nt working its usually quite good.

We also have an old analogue one up the caravan in the orchard with a set top box. Oh has a telly in his study, we have one in the kitchen which I watch in the evenings and there's also one in the bedroom so we are well equiped. I also watch iplayer on the pc sometimes.
Glad you did'nt throw the brick at it though. Is it just you and hubby? Any pets?

That would be good if T was nearer in the Cottage Hospital AnnG. Probably less virus risk there too. Like Mel, I can't understand why they aren't investigating his back and head pain though as it could all be connected. Lucky you getting your M&S order done. I have tried once more to say I have forgotten my password and again they have said they will send me a link to reset it but I'm not holding my breath!
G has plenty to do as both areas of his work seem busier than ever Mel. He has quite a backlog. He's cutting back over the next 12 months though as he just has much more to do than he would like. He still has to find time to sort all these programmes at some point as well. :-S
Vera I have had to do the same when I've met people who want to chat and my knees have had enough standing. It does feel rude as you say and people sometimes seem surprised, but there comes a point when you just have to go! Well if this old dodderer didn't have bad knees she would be up steps painting and decorating, getting the garden straight and turning out top cupboards! lol She can't so the courses stop me fretting and are a chance to learn some things I can do.lol.
I wonder if Mandy has finished making her wreath yet? :-D
OH wants me to go and watch a prog about the Plague. Sleep tight everyone.

He would not really be nearer, about the same in a different direction and whereas Cheltenham hospital is busy town roads, nroadworkscetc,mTewkesbury is country roads
The thing is he is in a urology ward at the moment for them to take an interest in his back he would need to be in orthopaedic or something, even a general ward.
I seemed to get past putting a password in by clicking new customer. I wondered if .i would get through as oH is the member with the password, he usually deals with M&S

Good morning all semi bright out there with a fairly strong wind. Looking down on the garden it is looking sad, needs its head gardener. I have done as much as I can but some of what wants doing now is too heavy work for me. Slept well last night, woke at 4ish for the loo then again around 6, next thing I knew it was 8 o'clock..

I am here Mel. Feeling a bit down now. Not, at the moment anyway, is OH going to the community hospital. He just had another Assessment and he says he could hardly walk. I am assuming because if his back. He only stayed on a couple of minutes as I think he was in pain. Horrible to think of him suffering. Why on Earth they don’t send him for a MRI I don’t know. There has to be something causing it.
