Morning Vera , Mel, morning all,
We have sunshine ,just a slight frost first thing but do I put the washing out or will it be as damp when I get it in later that's the question.
Vera sounds as if your getting there with your foot but don't try to do to much to quickly you don't want any set backs .
Mel stay safe at the shop ,might be a bit quieter with people not going out as much .

Good morning all. Had an awful night OH fell, or rather slithered to the floor twice once around midnight and once about 4.30. Both times had to get ambulance out as I couldn’t lift him. Second time they decided to take him in to hospital to be checked over, he had not hurt himself but they thought it best. Seems very strange without him here as we have not been separated for about 30 years.

Morning all
Sunny here but very cold, thankfully I don't need to go out for anything.
Sorry to hear about your OH falling AnnG, I hope it's nothing serious and he's home with you soon. The poppy picture was a nice thought, but unfortunately I don't have a printer, thank you anyway.
Happy belated birthday wishes to Mandy's son and Mel's OH
No, she's not new to Facebook Ann, but it's nice to see her keeping in touch with everyone now we're in lockdown again. Our area is the worse out of the whole country and not being able to visit people is starting to get her down. She's on her phone all day talking to different people, so still has contact that way.
It sounds like you were busy yesterday Vera and managed to get quite a bit done. I hope your foot eases for you soon.

So sorry to hear that T has been taken to hospital Anng. I do hope they can find the trouble now and perhaps give him some relief from these terrible headaches and back problems. We are all here for you so pop in whenever you feel like it. Did they give you any idea how long they will keep him in? Did you have to tell them what meds he's on?

Morning all
Frosty here earlier - so I was told LOL
AnnG, you must be at your wits end, let's hope the hospital will discover what's going on with your husband. It's gone on for too long, whatever 'it' is. You must both be exhausted. I hope things improve soon.
Vera, have you ditched your chariot now? I hope you'll be skipping around soo.
Mel, doggie isn't frightened of fireworks. He bobbed off down the garden on firework night for a business meeting and a few went off but he wasn't fazed by them. I took him outside to watch the 'workies' when we first had him and held him tight, talking to him - bovvered? Nah. Thank goodness!
Has Frank reported in? I hope he's feeling calmer.
I shall catch up on some sewing today - I have a backlog of repairs and some pull on trousers for me to finish. I really need to spend some time outside though, just chilling and recharging.
Have a good day all

Your dog sounds very calm Island, not at all like our neighbour's dogs, they bark at anything. He keeps them in around bonfire night and a week or so after as there are still fireworks going off. I heard quite a few last night. You're going to be busy with your sewing by the sounds of it. I'm hoping one day to learnt to make some clothes for myself, with being small I can never find anything nice that fits. Hope you manage to spend a bit of time outside and it's not to cold, it's freezing here today so no outside jobs for me.

Morning Gill He has his moments and some anxiety, he likes to know we are both near and if one of us is out he won't let the other (me!) go upstairs and sew. He is a bit of a barker - he likes to sit on a chair in the front window and make passers by jump LOL
I've always made my own clothes when I've had time because then I get what I want. Shop sizes are so way out. How can my fitted winter coat, bought two years ago, still fit ok but I've had to go up two (!!!!) sizes for a parka style - from the same shop - and the sleeves are still a bit 'snug'?

It all depends on the make of clothes as to the sizes. I was in the rag trade for years when younger and first married. Mum and I worked from home so I could take baby with me when I went to mums to work. He had a cot there and playpen and everything I would need so it worked out well. Cheaper makes were always smaller than they should have been. I suppose the cheaper ones were teens clothes and they went out of fashion quickly so it did'nt matter if they did'nt last long like better makes.
When I had my alsatian he used to come out in the garden with us for the fireworks but the last dog mum had down here would bark at any bang or whizz when it was Guy Fawks night.
We had some lovely firework parties when I was young too and next day going to school we used to see who could find the most rocket sticks.
Yes where's our Frank???? I do hope he's ok as I worry so about him. <3

Here I am, Good morning everyone.
Like your OH AnneG, When i went to bed last night I slipped and ended up on the floor, banging my head on the wall. Ros couldn't get me up, and had to get Tony, between all three of us I was on the bed. Once covered up, I was asleep within minutes. No after effects this morning, thank goodness.
I have been sitting on the patio, reading my book. I had a small Fleece on to keep the chill out. But soon got cold, so came into the conservatory to carry on reading.
Nothing planed for today. BARRY should have come this week, but didn't show. I rang Lewis last night, and offered him £20.00 to come and cut the lawns and trim the edges. Ros was going to attempt them herself, but I wouldn't let her.
I cooked dinner again last night Shin of Beef, in a nice gravy, with Mash, cabbage, runners, peas and carrots. Washed up the pots and plates and put them all away. So nothing for Ros to do.
Ros is just going into the garden to put in more BULBS. I've told her not to get too cold, and to come in, if she does.
Due to "LOCK DOWN" I rang the Indian and Chinese takeaways, to make sure they would be open. both confirmed they would be. So we can have our takeaway tonight.
I hope you all have a pleasant weekend, and don't overdo things.
I have a phone call from my SIL and Niece last night. They had attended my sisters Cremation, everything went off O.K. My Simon wasn't able to make it due to him having to get a friends wife out of Hospital. She has been dienosed with TERMINAL CANCER, and has been allowed home to be with her family. She's only 47 years old. POOR WOMAN.
Will perhaps catch up with you later in the day. xxxx

They just don't work from standard block sizes Mel, haven't done for years. Then there's the shifting of layouts to get more out of the fabric by factories to produce some 'cabbage' for themselves.

Hospital just phoned but I couldn't hear so Cynth phoned back, nurse said they were sending him to neurology. However. OH just phoned me (and I could hear ok on the Iphone. He is waiting for transport as neurology is at Cheltenham (currently he is at gloucester Royal,) goodness knows when he will finish there but the reason he is going to Cheltenham is to have a catheter fitted as the one at Gloucester didn't work. So I am not sure why that is in neurology. He is going to phone again when he knows more when he is finished at Cheltenham. I suspect it will be a long wait for transport. I hope they have got him dressed now as he only has underpants and a long sleeved pyjama top on.
Mel the paramedics asked re his meds. He has not been taking his Statins so it was just the antibiotics. which he has with him, wonder if he will remember to take them?
Meanwhile I have had the Tesco shop and that is put away.
Thanks for all good wishes.
Pleased you didn't do damage to your head Frank.

You made me laugh Island when you said your dog barks at people passing by to make them jump :-D Sorry to hear he has some anxiety and needs you around, he must love you very much, some dogs are like that though, at least you're around more now with lockdown, so that should make him feel more relaxed.
I know what you mean about shop clothes being different sizes, mind you none of them fit me apart from coats and some tops. I've even had to buy children's clothes in the past, much to my husbands amusement.
Pity Simon couldn't make it to the cremation Frank, but at least he was doing a good deed, helping a friend's wife.
The last dog your mum had Mel sounds like our neighbour's dogs, they bark at anything to. Talking of rocket sticks we had one stuck in our grass a few years ago, it must of come down really fast as it took OH ages to pull it out, it was stuck that fast.

AnnG I’m glad you have at least had contact with the hospital and have spoken to OH. Are you sure they said Neurology and not Urology? Words do sound different on the phone and Urology would make sense for a catheter fitting.
I’m pleased you didn’t damage anything with your trip to the floor Frank. Take care.

Oh Ann sorry to hear about your OH ,hopefully they can get to the bottom of the problem and give him some relief from this content pain . It's good you've had contact from him so you know a little of whats going on ,the time drags when your sat waiting for news .
I have hung some masks out the front out for people to help them selves to ,they have been sealed in bags for a good week now so they are OK , they are going like hot cakes so I'll make a few more gives me some thing to do and it's nice to help people ,think I'll make a few Christmas ones . I made a couple for Chelsea yesterday with Harry Potter jelly bean print , they have to wear masks now in school corridors so I made her a couple as she's a devil always losing them.

Island you are the first person in years that I have heard knows about Cabbage. Thats what mum and I used to sell. For anyone who does'nt know what it is, when a manufacturer is given so much material to make say two dozen dresses if he can get another 6 out of that material it is sold without the labels in and thats Cabbage. Just an example. We used to get lots that did have the lables in though. Good makes too.
Sorry you had a bad night Frank fancy you falling out of bed and Ros having to get Tony in to pick you up. I'm glad you did'nt hurt yourelf too much though. Shame too that Simon could'nt make the cremation of his aunt but he was doing a very good deed for someone else, bless him.
Anng thank goodness you have heard from oh as that must put your mind at rest a bit. I wonder if they will be able to get to the bottom of his problem. It certainly needs someone to find out whats wrong with him. Having the headaches for over 2 months too must be awful for him and then theres the back problem. I hope you hear some good news soon. Will Cynth stay with you if the phone rings again or willyou have to go and get her?

Vera yes we have come to the conclusion that Cynth misheard and it is urology. The line was quite bad when she spoke to the nurse, and I couldn't hear her at all. I actually spoke to OH on my Iphone and could hear him clearly although there was an aggravating time lag. When the time comes Cynth will probably take me to pick him up. I am sort of hoping that they will keep him in until tomorrow and tackle a few more of the things that are wrong. However, they are not generally etaining people in the hospitals at the moment and I really don't want him catching the virus.

A good sleep last night so I'm a bit perkier today.
Oh what a night AnnG! I'm glad T didn't hurt himself from the falls and maybe they will sort out what's causing the problems now he's in hospital. It's good you got to speak to him too.
Don't mention barking dogs to me! I was thinking the Shih Tzu might get a bit deaf as he got older, maybe he has ,but it hasn't stopped him barking his head off at anything and everything including us in the garden. The little Westie the other side used to be very quiet and she never barks if she hears us in the garden, but since they have been going away a lot lately she has got a bit noisier. She waits at the door when she wants to go in and it used to be just one bark. Now they don't seem to let her in straightaway, so she just keeps barking! :-S
It's not good news that there's another new strain of Covid now at a Mink farm, especially as we have wild Mink too. There are reports of it being caught from humans in the Netherlands
The Police were called to break up a firework display on a playing field in the village last night with about 40 attending. The people in nearby houses were frightened as thousands of pounds worth of fireworks meant for big displays at events were being let off. It took a local councillor 2 hours to clean the mess up this morning.
Thanks for the cabbage explanation Mel! I've always had trouble with clothes sizing too. I used to find Chelsea Girl had the best fit for me years ago. Probably being made in Chine helped where the people were shorter like me. In other makes, the neck to waist measurement was always too long, waist was too big if the hips were right and long sleeves were too long. I had to alter most clothes and still have to shorten most trousers and just don't have long sleeved tops except cardigans. They say that a size 12 these days is much bigger than years ago too. I still have a pair of children's M&S dungarees in the loft that I used to wear in my 30s Gill! I wish I could get more than a leg in them now! :-D
That was lucky you were ok after banging your head on the wall Frank. You'll Make sure there is nothing to slip on again now.have to be more careful.
Mandy that is lovely of you to put out more masks for people to take. It is good to be helping people as you say and we have more time to do things with the lockdown.
I have watched 3 of the craft things today. The first was to make a ribbon wreath which was good and showed us a 'bow maker' which I had never heard of before. They are really good anyou can make all kinds of bows with them in a few seconds. It is like a comb and I might see how much they are. I didn't like the second to make a Nordic gnome tealight, very messy to do and the 3r was to make fabric baubles from polystyrene balls and fabric, ribbon and beads or sequins. Really easy and effective, no sewing! :-D
