Evening All,

Pouring with rain and windy now, a proper wintry evening, but the fireworks are still going off!

Ros is really silly Frank as they have found that a good number of people have an upset tummy as part of the virus and even if not, why risk passing a bug to Martine? What if she fainted again while driving. It doesn't bear thinking about. She should have listened to you. Don't worry about not having much interesting to say as we are all in the same boat I think with not going out. I do wish you would write more of your memoirs as we all loved reading the last ones you did. How are the attacks now, are you starting to feel a bit better yet? Oh that fridge must have been really whiffy!

Yes, it was nice to see what Hannah said and to see all the lovely photos. It does seem strange that we won't have any more posts from her.

I find it hard to pick up what some folk say if they have a strong or foreign accent AnnG, so it must be even harder for you. Why do they seem to speak so fast too! I know you can get special phones for the hard of hearing. If you don't have one, it might help with some calls. Try not to feel guilty as I doubt I could lift hubby up either. It was a bit of a game getting him out of the bath recently! I had a lookon line at the time and there are some handy tips to get someone up from the floor or how to get up yourself if you fall. It even suggests (if there are no injuries) ringing the fire brigade for 'lift assistance' if you can't manage it.

I hope you get more used to the meds soon Gill. The sleep may be what you need just now though. How is Sandra doing with the things she needs to earn now? I will forward you the email for Jane's service.

I found a few more bits in the garage for the binmen on Tuesday including an old mop bucket I doubt I will use again now I have a steam mop. I also unearthed a cool bag that looks better than one of the two we are using for bread and veg that won't go in the fridge, so tomorrow I'll give it a good clean and disinfecting. It has ice packs in it too.

Back to my painting now.........tricky homework that must be in tomorrow.

Glad they arrived ok Mel , I thought you might like the one with the deer on :-D

Ann that was a handy find the cool bag with the ice blocks .
I just put my veg in the shed in the cool ,I make sure I take it all out of any plastic wrap ,I've had carrots in there a good month or more and they've been fine ,potatoes we just cover up so they don't get the light and go green .

Goodness it was dark early tonight with this miserable weather ,I'm waiting for the dancing I think I read that Anton is on the judging panel as the coloured lady I can never remember her name has to isolate after coming back from Germany this week .

Just a reminder for new lot of The Chateau tomorrow night and the jungle programme with Ant and Dec that's now from the castle .

Yes very frustrating when the person doesn’t slow down. I had another call from the ward staff nurse and she was very clear it was just to tell me they had gone to Cheltenham and I have heard from him that he us ok. Just a short call but that is fine he was very alert and remembered to say thanks because I put a card in for him..

Good morning Elizabeth, early bird or late night?

I think with lockdowns one and two when, if ever, we get back to normal, we shall all be off housework for good. However, with OH either here and laid up in bed or in hospital the house does stay clean and tidy........ I would rather have a mucky house though and him here fit and well.

I had a fairly late call yesterday, apparently they have crammed a quart into a pint pot at Cheltenham now (and this is obviously happening all over the country), with covid cases in hospital increasing they have crammed all those from Gloucester hospital into Cheltenham without (at least until last night), increasing support staff such as catering. T was fed up because they had not had food and it was cahos but I am hoping that is just in the switch over and more staff will be transferred from today. Shall wait and see what he has to say later.

Pretty foul day out there raning and blowing a gale.

Why is it when you are in the house on your own you hear all sorts of creaking and noises you don't normally hear?

Good morning to you all,

Nice to see you popping in Liz, xxx

Horrible wet and windy day here. Won't be going anywhere, so will shower and shave and put joggers and T shirt on.

I am having these horrible ANXIETY ATTACKS again. One minute Iam as hot as an oven, the next shivering all over.

We are both off our food, which is unusual. All I had to eat yesterday was one slice of toast with a few beans and a mince pie. Ros had Egg on toast and a mince pie.
Neither of us slept well last night, I was in bed before 10.00 pm and Ros 11.00 pm.I was awake this morning by 6.00 am and for up at 7.00 am. COT, and noise through the paper. Now sitting in my U/pants boiling hot.

We have a joint of beef for todays dinner, I will prepare a small amount of veg and make a small Yorkshire, I do hate having to through food away.

Would one of you be kind enough to send me Janes order of service and whatever Hannah wrote. Thanks in advance.

Will no doubt be back later in the day. I hope you all have a nice peaceful day xxx

Morning all,

EOS it's nice to see you joining in but the house work won't get done :-D

Not very nice here ,lots of rain but it doesn't seem very cold when I poked my nose out the door .

Had a nice chat to son and family this morning ,he had the phone on speaker and Christmas was mentioned as Lewis said he had written his Christmas list ,son said oh you know who might come again The Naughty Elves, Lewis said yes we had four
come last year but dad we'll have to keep two metres away from them this year :-D
Do you think they'll be tested before they come :-D

Frank I don't think I would have bothered with a full roast if your both off your food some thing lighter might have been better for you both .
AnnG at least OH is away from the covid if they are keeping one hospital just for that ,I suppose they are down on staff as it's the weekend ,perhaps tomorrow they will have a few more in .

Roast chicken for us today just done the veg and got the chicken in the tin ready to cook later .

AnninGlos Report 15 Nov 2020 11:38

No Mel phone calls are so short because of his mobile power problems that we don't actually discuss anything, he just gives me a load of requests if he needs any info or else tells me a bit about what is going on with any treatment (usually nothing, I assume it is because it is the weekend.) He still has not found somewhere his phone can be charged and I think it is actually flat now.

Frank why cook a full meal if you are both off your food?

Sunny here at the moment but very wet under foot.

Gillx Report 15 Nov 2020 11:44

Morning all

Bright and sunny here today and quite warm compared to earlier in the week.

Sorry to hear you and Ros aren't feeling very well Frank. I think what's happened this year is making lots of people anxious, I've been so bad I'm on meds both day and night now which seem to be working, although they're making me sleep a lot. I've lost my appetite to, I feel hungry but then don't fancy anything. I'm having to make myself eat as I'm sure not eating enough is contributing to my sleepiness. I hope you both start to feel better soon.

How is T today AnnG, did he manage to get something to eat in the end. I hope he's home soon and the hospital can help, he's been unwell for quite some time now. I hope you had a good night's sleep last night.

You made me smile Elizabeth with no late night and being a respectable woman lol.

So the naughty Elves will be making an appearance again this year Mandy, keeping 2 metres apart of course ;-) ;-)
I enjoyed watching Anton as a judge on Strictly. I think he should be on there every week, he's so funny.

I'm watching Love your weekend with Alan Titchmarsh and there was a carpenter on there splitting pallets with a pallet breaker, it's a wonderful tool. I've never heard of one before, we break up lots of pallets to make planters and poor OH struggles breaking them up with a hammer, which results in lots of split wood, so I think I'll buy him a pallet breaker for Christmas. The carpenter showed us how it worked and it's so quick and easy. it'll save OH a lot of time in the future.

Frank Report 15 Nov 2020 12:25

Well the rain has cleared away, and we have sunshine.

The Roast I am doing for us, is so tiny. Two Roast potato's piece of parsnip, one piece of cauli. three brussels, and a few runner beans. Lets just say, HALF OF WHAT I WOULD NORMALLY DO.

Have spoken to my SIL this morning also my Nephew John. Fran lives in Highfield Road, in the house where her husband (my Brother) Bill was born. John lives in Harlow, which was a new town in the late forties earley fifties. It took the London overspill, after the war. I spent many weeks with my sister Clara, who also lived in Harlow. Her husband TOM was great company, and having two daughters, I was the son he never had. We built a garden shed, and fenced his rear garden, with a gate into a spinny, where I would go BIRD SPOTTING. He would walk me miles across open fields, stop at a pub for him to have a pint and me a lemonade. Such happy CHILDHOOD MEMORIES.

I am pleased to say we are both feeling a lot better this morning. I have been reading my book in the conservatory, and Ros is watching a NATURE PROGRAMME on T.V. She is still running to the loo. So haven't got rid of the BUG.

I have bought new inks for the printer, which I must get changed. I have an envelope to return the old ones for re-cycling.

I'm going to have a coffee and watch a bit of telly. Will get dinner around 4/5. pm

Take care and enjoy the rest of your day. xxxx

Just walked down to the free book stall which is back for lockdown. Was only out 20 minutes but it certainly blew the cobwebs away and brought a glow to my cheeks.
