they do drop with a clunk don't they Ann. Its more frightened of you than you are of it so don't worry about it or get G to move the bookcase out to hoover.
Oh has ordered a new seat for the mower he fell off the other day. its a spung one with little arms just what he likes.
Our grass was starting to go brown but it looks a bit better after this small amount of rain we have had today.
My cue plant had a hole in its stem and did'nt grow so I threw it out as it was wilting and when I looked at it it had a big greenfly in the hole. All the plants I have bought down the shop have had greenfly including my tomato plants.

Ann, When I booked my latest slot a couple of days ago I was putting a few bits in the basket to hold the slot when I just noticed the figure 85. I’ve just checked it by looking at the section on their site “How we’re responding to Covid-19” and it says that they have introduced a limit of 85 items per order and removed purchase limits on most items.
While we were eating OH said to me that he hadn’t realised how much he’d missed talking face to face with people. He said he felt really relaxed after seeing our friends today.

Just a quickie to wish Frank and Ros a happy anniversary, sorry it's late but I've been sick most of today, I think it might of been something I've eaten. I hope you both had a lovely day.
I'll catch up with all the posts tomorrow if I feel better.

O dear sorry to hear you've been sick today Gill I hope you feel better tomorrow and it has all passed. What could you have eaten to make you so sick? I hav'nt done the parcel ujp yet or Mandy's either, sorry maybe tomorrow.
Vera I have been busy doing nothing today too. I did bring the washing in tonight and ironed it but did'nt get any other ironing done today after all. Not a nice thing for hubby to have tht said to him on his walk. Some people are weird arn't they?

Morning all,
Little rain in the night as the ground is quite wet this morning so that was nice for the gardens we have lot of cloud and some of them are a bit grey looking so I think we might be in for a bit more today ,there's also quite a strong wind I can see the trees swaying .
Gill I hope you feel better today ,what had you eaten to make you sick?
Hope we all have a bit more get up and go today it's strange how you have days where you just can't get motivated to do things .
Colin is going out to give the car a clean out in side ,it's surprising what you take in on your feet ,if it keeps dry I think he's thinking about giving it a wash as it's so dusty The MOT is due at the end of the month but didn't some one say they are giving you six months. Son looked on line and found the site were you can put the registration number in but it didn't come up with any thing so we're none the wiser .

good morning all, a grey but dry day here, doesn't look very welcoming after all the lovely sun. 12 degrees outside. Got up fairly late, slept well but not got a lot of get up and go so far. Prepped the meal for tonight in the slow cooker, bolognese on pasta, might be spaghetti or maybe Fusilli, depends what OH fancies, I usually give him a choice.
At the moment OH is steaming the kitchen floor so that will keep him occupied for a few minutes. He might then find things to doo in the garden I suppose. I want to walk round to the post box later.
Vera I have looked and looked but can't find that part of the Tesco site that you mention, maybe they vary. Never mind I will try 85 next time and see what happens
Mandy, I think the garage will let you know nearer the time, if you always go to the same one, if you have an extension to your MOT. My OH cleaned my car a few days ago (it is the one left outside) as it was very dusty.

Morning Mandy and all,
We have quite a bright day with grey and white clouds and a few patches of blue sky. Its dry and has'nt rained in the night as all the road is dry and there's a little breeze cos I can see the trees moving.
Mandy my MOT was due on the 19th May and I rang the garage and Stuart told me I don't have to have mine till September or October. He said I can have it done if I wanted to. I did the same as you and looked on the site which is why I rang Stuart as I could'nt see anything on there either. Shame they hav'nt given us something off the road tax for those of us of a certain age.
Oh has just come in and said its chilly out there. I hav'nnt been out yet so I don't know.

Good morning GIRLS,
Much the same weather wise here. We did have a whole day of light rain yesterday. So hopefully the garden will come back to life.
We had a beautiful steak dinner last night. Ros ate far more than me. I just don't seem to have any appetite. I suppose not getting outing no exercise isn't helping.
Martine called over this morning with our Anniversary card and present. She got the date wrong. She bought a beautiful plant for the garden. She has also offered me a Motorbility Scooter, to try, and if I like it I can buy it for £100.00. She thinks it will give me so much freedom, to get around the village, without fear of falling over. It's quite BIG and would need to be kept in the garage. At least I can give it a go, and see how I get on.
I am going to the nurse at 4.30 this afternoon, to have my stitches removed. Eos will take me, and sit in the car away from anyone who might be in the waiting room. I will book in, and stand outside. The nurse will call me in, when she is ready.
Spatchcock Chicken for tonight in herbs and garlic. I'll do Roasts and a selection of veg later. It's something I have never tried before, so hope I enjoy it.
Head and neck still very sore, and the graze on the knee is very dry, and pulling when I try to bend my leg.
Our car was filthy, so Ros had it cleaned at our usual place on Tuesday. She will do the inside later today.
Off for a coffee, STAY SAFE my dear friends. xxxx

Morning all
No sign of rain here yet but it is very grey and with a cold North wind. I had to pick up my meds today and I felt really cold just walking a short distance from the chemist to the car park and I was wearing a T-shirt, a wool cardigan and a thick fleece. What a change from a couple of days ago.
AnnG, I just checked Tesco again in case I was going mad, but the info is there. If you google Tesco Groceries it should open on the Home page. There’s a banner across that which says “How we’re responding to Covid 19”. If you click on “Find out more ” and scroll down to the bit headed “Food for All” you’ll find it.
Gill, I hope you are feeling a lot better today. I wonder what caused your sickness.
I’m going to do a couple of small jobs now and then have lunch. This afternoon I’ll sort out some questions for Sunday’s quiz. I have some quizzes I’ve done before for clubs we belong to but they have all been compiled with an older age group in mind and I need to sort out some questions that the younger element have a chance of answering. Tomorrow I shall be very brave and attempt to set the meeting up on Zoom, following the instructions that Ann was kind enough to send me.
Thinking of you Jane <3
Right, better get on or it will be time for lunch and I’ll still have nothing done.
EDIT. I forgot to say Mandy that our MOT was booked for 31st March but couldn’t go ahead. When I first put our reg. number in on the government site nothing came up. I can’t remember now whether it appeared on 31st March or 1st April but when I put the number in then the screen said we had an extension till 31st September so it doesn’t look as though the extension is granted till the date the MOT is actually due. We also wondered about our Road Tax due at the same time and normally paid by DD, then OH got an email from them saying they would take this payment on 22nd April.

Thank you Ann and Vera i had a look and it looks like you can't find out until about a week before so will a look then .
Frank the Motorbility scooter sounds ideal for you it will give you a chance to get out and about .
We've had a little drizzle but nothing to really wet the ground ,wind is still strong .
I gave the bathroom a good clean this morning and decided i would unscrew the plug bit in the basin ,it's a bit of a devil as when you unscrew it the middle bit is on a bit that if your not careful it drops down the pipe so you've guessed it it dropped right down so Colin had to get the trap off to get to it ,i made sure i got that bit on again before he put the trap back as you could be sure it would drop again , so one job led to another .

Mandy, that sounds as though it could have been expensive, had you not got COLIN there, to do that job. Calling an emergency plumber could have been far more, than he will charge you. LOL LOL
Yes the shooter sounds just the thing, I will be able to DRIVE to the Football Club for a pint, as and when they open.
So much for me offering to prepare the veg for dinner tonight. Ros has done them, and made stuffing to go under the chicken. So she is making me redundant until my head and shoulder improves.
It's turned really GREY outside now, so I expect it to rain, just as I go to the Surgery. SODS LAW. !!! I don't feel too good at present, so will not bother putting a shirt and trousers on. I will go as I am, in joggers and top.
I am going to have a le down and try to get a few zzzz before I go to the nurse. See you later. xxxx

I'm still feeling a bit under the weather and very tired, I was just dropping off to sleep before when my phone rang, it was the doctor to see if I was okay. She's had an email sent her off the people I have phone consultations with, I miss my appointment yesterday. With being so ill, I didn't realise my phone battery had gone flat. Apparently they tried to ring me a few times and they were concerned when there was no answer, so I have to ring them within the next week to arrange another appointment. I told the doctor I was ill and she asked if I was the only one in the family feeling ill, OH is okay so it can't be something I've eaten, as we ate the same things, so I must have some sort of bug. The doctor didn't seem to bothered, I'm drinking cooled boiled water and only eating light things, hopefully I'll feel better soon.
I've got a headache so haven't caught up with the post, I hope everyone is okay. OH is in work today so I'm going to have a lie down and see if I can catch up with some sleep, I didn't sleep very well last night.
Just noticed your post about the parcel Mel, let me know when you post it then I'll keep an eye out for it. There's no rush, so don't worry, I just don't want to miss the post then OH doesn't have to go to the post office to pick it up, it's quite a small place with lots of people around, which isn't safe at the moment, so I'd rather have it straight off the post man to save OH going out.

I wouldn't get too excited about post Gill. My daughter posted a normal envelope to me 2nd class over a week ago and it still hasn't arrived.
Hope you feel better soon. You have been sick several times this year I wonder if you are eating something that you don't tolerate. It seems strange for you to have a bug when you have not been anywhere to catch it.

We have only just got the internet back since earlier and just in time for OH's meeting at 5.30pm! I was checking this, that and the other, then wondered if it was the phone line down and it was! OH has kept me too busy today, first with getting lunch, then the printer needed cartridges replacing and new ones ordering. Then the internet and I just had to make him a coffee as he hadn't time with his meeting starting. I hope I get some 'me' time tomorrow to do what I need to do myself. Was it Vera who said all sorting out and organising seems to be down to her........well she's not alone! lol.
Sorry you have been so sick Gill and I'm glad to see you have picked up a little today. I hope it isn't a bug and that your OH doesn't get it if it is. Incubation can take a few days.
I forgot to say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Frank and Ros! I lost my post with it on earlier. The mobility scooter sounds a great idea to get you about.
No rain here today, but it was certainly chillier this morning. The sun has come out now though. I saw a huge frog on the gravel this morning. He must have squeezed or dug under the gravel boards I think or come from on the front as there are the concrete boards all around at the bottom of our fences so not easy for anything to get in.
I used one of the beef strip packs today by frying them with onions and mushrooms, then adding diced carrot, swede, green beans and cubed potatoes that needed eating up. In went some water with 2 beef and 1 veg stock cube, garlic, soy sauce, tomato paste, pepper and some whole milk powder. It turned out a bit like ragu and the gravy was very tasty. I don't like beef though (OH loved it) and found some a bit chewy, so I think the other that I have will go in the pressure cooker as that makes most meat very tender.
They have had to shut a car park attached to some playing fields in the city due to people gathering and making noise at night and fighting! Also a beauty shop has been reported for not operating social distancing and for insisting on cash only payment. HMRC would also be interested in that!
Did you see there is a suspect in the Madeline McCann case in prison in Germany? It does sound promising that it may be him.
I hope you found some good questions for the youngsters Vera! If you have any difficulty with using the emai I sent, it might be specific to my email account. Try putting your ID in the box and if that doesn't work, go to the Zoom site and follow 'schedule meeting' on there.
I must make sure I do our food order tomorrow. I won;t need much freezer stuff as there isn't room for much and I'm hoping it will just be mainly perishables.
