BREAKING NEWS. Julia's son Jammie and his wife had a SCAN this morning. She is having a BOY. Their First. Considering he has had Cereble Paulsy (sp) since birth, that is some achievement . Ros has already been busy making babies cloths. At the moment she is making "FACE MASKS" for all the FAMILY. She started making one for herself, and mentioned it to Harvey Conrad and Jan. and got lumbered to making them for everyone. She will post them all tomorrow. She's been at it all day, they do look as though they are better than anything on the market. Talking of which. Have you seen the prices they are asking on Ebay.??? Robbing beggars. They should be BANNED !!!!
Roast loin of pork for later. I only have use of the top oven to roast the meat ,potatoes and Parsnips , so I hope they turn out alright.
I have tried to entertain myself by trying the CROSSWORDS in the paper and supplement, got a fair bit done, considering I don't try them very often. I expect I will revert either to my book, or the T.V. Coronavirus update at 4.00 pm I think. I wonder how many more have caught it and how many have passed away. ???
Stay SAFE EVERYONE. See you later.

Afternoon All Brrrrr! it is a biting wind out there. No outside for us today. Ann I thought you said someone had thrown the dog over your fence LOL Not a frisby :-D :-D. Your dinner today sounded delicious. We have enough of the casserole from last night just for one person so 2 of us will have a ready meal.
Glad to hear OH is ok AnnG :-DHe had a lucky escape really.
I have just done the Tesco order for next Sunday. I mananged to do it all on my own after James told me what to do.It took a fair time, but I do have a long list !!!! Managed ot order Strong Flour too,but will wait and see if it is still in stock when we get the delivery.Chris got the bread maker out this morning and has done a loaf so at least we have some bread for now.
Fitz's OH is still really unwell and in bed still :-( I think her temperature has gone down but she has the awful cough. 8 days now she has been ill.
Crumbs Vera what a night you had last night !! You must be feeling quite exhausted now.Hope you have just been taking it easy today. A 2 day old casserole for your anniversary made me smile. I actually think a casseole or stew is much nicer after being re heated it just seems to be even more tender.
I am sat here and have just noticed that a vase of Daffs and Tulips have no water at all.I must top it up and hope the flowers pick up.There is still a bit of life left in them .
Have you had any more snow Mandy? . We have had nothing ,just the cold wind.
I hope everyone is staying nice and warm indoors and staying safe. You are sorted I see Gill with all the films ready to watch :-D :-D
You were lucky to get your F&Cs last night Frank. I wonder why the Takeaways werent answering their phones.I would have thought they would be doing a roaring trade.

Frank that's lovely news for the family and i see Ros is busy stitching already .
Ann i had to re read to make sure it wasn't a dog been thrown over too :-D :-D It's not a day for throwing a Frisbee about it's bound to go with the wind on a windy day like this .
I don't want to dishearten you but i did read on face book this way that some people had their Asda orders cancelled , as Asda didn't have what was on the order and what they did have wasn't enough to send out the order was cancelled with no warning so i'd keep a check on it .
No more snow since just after lunch Jane in fact at the moment the suns out . I have a bread machine but i have used it for a while but you can't get bread flour here for love nor money ,even the farm shops have very little .
I took a photo of some of the cross stitch i have done over the years ,there's too many to photo so i just picked a few out ,they are a bit creased where they have been stored but i'll send them so you can see them .

Annx I read all through your bit about the neighbour calling but couldn't guess what was thrown over the fence until the last sentence. My mind was boggling.
when OH had finished the floors etc he started on the overhead blinds in the conservatory, taking them down one at a time and cleaning them. He has managed three so far, it is a long job to be continued tomorrow. But he has done a good job so far.
Jane hope you can get your order ok, despite trying I have not been able to get a Tesco slot. Never mind we are still ok. Yes, definitely a day for staying indoors
Frank Oh a new baby that is lovely news, Ros will enjoy making the clothes for him. You do know that face masks, if not the proper hospital ones, are only good at protecting other people from you? they don't protect you from other people.wouldn't want you to have false confidence in them.
Mandy look forward to seeing your cross stitch I have spotted another one I have in the lounge on the wall I might try and take a photo of it tomorrow, it is my favourite.

I've just finished one of the nightie's and now I'm about to start the next one. I watched two of my DVD's "Rocketman" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" both very good films and I'm about to watch a film I recorded on Sky. I'll watch the rest of the DVD's next week when OH is back in work.
I've found a small pack of silks for the cross stitch, it's not DMC but hopefully it won't matter. I don't have all the colours but enough to do the smaller bits like the flowers and leaves. I'll need to buy some pink ones as there isn't enough in the pack, it only contains one pink colour and there are various different shades on the picture. Thanks everyone for all your help, it's very much appreciated.
With being busy with my sewing today I'll make a start on the painting another day as OH is off tomorrow so I want to spend some time with him before he's back at work for another six days, plus it'll give me something to do when I'm on my own again.
Pleased to hear your OH is okay AnnG, although it might be worth keeping an eye on him over the next few days with what happened to your daughter's late husband, better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully nothing will happen and he'll carry on being okay.
Fancy knocking on your door asking after a Frisbee Ann. At least you cleaned everywhere down that your OH touched and didn't answer the door again. I will practice on some notepaper I've got, I don't have proper water colour paper as the pictures in the kit are already drawn ready to be painted with no spare plain paper.
Congratulations to Jammie and his wife Frank, it didn't take Ros long to start making the baby clothes. Good idea to make some masks to.
Sorry to hear Fitz's OH is still unwell Jane, I hope she recovers soon.
Going to watch the film now before OH get's in from work. I've not done a Sunday roast today as he doesn't like to eat anything heavy before he goes to bed and he normally goes to bed an hour after he gets home now, otherwise he falls asleep on the sofa, so I thought we'd have our roast tomorrow instead.
I didn't get Mandy's email can someone pass it on to me please, I'd love to see it?

Ann, flattery will get you everywhere. It’s a long while since I’ve been considered bright and young, even if you did have your tongue firmly in your cheek. Like some of the others my first thought was that the dog had been thrown over the fence, lol. I won’t tell you what my second thought was, except that it wasn’t Frisbee.
Lovely news about the baby Frank. It’s good to hear some happy news in these troubled times. Ros will love making things for the little one. We heard in the last day or so that my cousin’s son and his wife are also expecting a baby. The wife is Spanish and they live near Madrid so a worrying time for them. What is Ros making her face masks from? I was going to say the same as AnnG. Unless they are proper medical masks they won’t protect you, they will only help to protect other people from you. Please tell Ros, Harvey and anyone else wearing one that they really mustn’t rely on them for protection.
Good luck with your online orders, all you folks who have one lined up. I keep checking my order and it is going up and down like a yo-yo. I’ll finalise it next Sunday as I am due to receive it on Monday. I am also registered with Waitrose, though I haven’t used them yet. I went on to their site this afternoon and it looks as though they don’t have any slots available alhough I don’t think their site is as clear as some of the others. I shall have to shop this Monday for some veg and a few other bits. I was given a number for the owner of the market stall where we often buy our veg as he is apparently doing deliveries. OH rang and left a message with our landline number and I rang and left a message with both our landline and my mobile number but they haven’t rung back. The only farm shop nearby closed a couple of years ago.
My daughter tells me that where she lives the police are blocking the road out of the village (the other end of the road finishes at the sea) and asking everyone where they are going. During the week she flashed her identity badge at them and said she was a teacher going to school and was waved through but people who said they were going to the two supermarkets in the nearby town were turned back and told to shop in the village. That’s all fine and well as the village does have a few little shops but I doubt if any of them carry enough stock for everyone and, of course, you would have to go from shop to shop instead of confining yourself in one place.
Your OH has been very busy today AnnG. It sounds as though the bang on the head hasn’t done any serious damage but still keep an eye on him for a week or two. My OH has given the bathroom and one of the en-suites a good clean while I prepared and cooked our meal which we had around 2 pm. I daren’t ask what he is up to now as he has got out a slide rule, some geometry instruments and a block of wood and is in the study doing calculations on a bit of paper. Sometimes I feel better being left in ignorance.
What a romantic husband you have Gill. Lucky you. Enjoy your DVDs
Fitz’s OH doesn’t sound at all well Jane. I hope she starts to feel better very soon. Is Fitz showing any symptoms yet? I hope he doesn’t get it but it seems very likely that he will.
Mandy I have emailed you about the cross stitch but, as I said there, my favourite is the Haberdashery.
Fingers crossed that we all have a good night tonight.

I've forwarded Mandy's email Gill. That's good you are sorted with some things to do when your OH is at work.
Jane I did write it so it sounded like the dog was thrown over the fence!! :-0 I must re-read posts before I send them. It's good if Fitz's OH's temperature is down but she sounds quite poorly with the cough. She's never sounded like the sort to lie in bed, more likely to be nipping to the gym so she must feel exhausted! I hope she soon improves and feels better and that Fitz is being careful and won't get it. You are lucky to get some strong flour unlike my friend. I even suggested sh try a watermill where they grind and sell flour a few miles away but she said they had sold out.
That's a bit of cheerful news Frank and will keep Ros busy knitting. At first I thought you had said Ros was busy making babies!!! lol :-)
Must go now as OH is wanting to play some Wii games.

Mandy I loved the cross stitch houses you did. They are brilliant! Fancy it being cold enough for snow your way. It stayed very cold here all day.
It looks like this pandemic could last 6 months or more. I can't get another Asda delivery slot yet so have added to my order for Wednesday.
Off to watch Bohemian Rhapsody now.

AnnG I hope T dos'nt get any troubel with the bang on the head. You shoud take a little look to make sure he has'nt broken the skin as it can be thin on your scalp.
Frank thats lovely news about the baby boy and I bet they are absolutely delighted. I thought the masks only gave protection for about 15 mins and to other people not to yourself. Good you have a nice lot of books lined up.
I had told you lot ordering from Adsa that if you pay for a 12 month mid week delivery you get one each week from there on. Thats what we did and our next one is the 7th April and its telling me my next deliver is 14th.
Gill you can use wool if the material has bigger holes.
Mandy the pictures you have done are really lovely and I love the cottages and the one with the bunny in the corner and mouse in the other.
Really tired now even though the clocks went forward.
Hope Fitz is ok and dos'nt catch it of of Georgette. The cough sounds nasty and I hope she gets better soon.
I always have a cough anyway with smoking........... :-(

Good morning all you lay-a-beds :-D
You can tell I had a better night. It’s dry and dull this morning and quite cold. I know how cold it is because I went to get shopping at 7.20 this morning. We had to get a few bits but were as sensible as possible. We went to the Co-op as it’s the nearest shop to us and likely to be less crowded than the other supermarkets. We had kitchen roll to put round the trolley handle and gel for our hands.
In fact there were very few people there, though shelves were half empty. I had the last lettuce and there was no cucumber and the only green veg was broccoli but we got enough stuff to tide us over. We were back before 8.
Going to have some breakfast now.

Good morning all. a grey start to the day, not that we are going anywhere but it doesn't look like gardening weather.
The day before yesterday turning out the big freezer drawer and the store cupboard I must have pulled my back as it is now very painful, same place a susual left hand side lower muscle. it kept waking me up last night.
Mel Still no slots of any sort available at Tesco here. I don't really want to swap to another one as I know what I am getting in Tesco, never shop in Asda and rarely Sainsbury's. I did check his head when he did it, the skin was not broken.
Well done Vera we are not going to the shop as Our neighbour is getting bits, however if this goes on for the suggested 6 months, might have to have a re-think.

Morning Vera, morning all
Not me Vera, I've been up before the sun this morning and done two loads of washing, got it dried, ironed it and put it away all before 9am this morning. OH is pleased as it's his uniform, along with other things. The sun is shinning here, but the clouds are starting to come over, so I doubt the sun will last much longer.
Congratulations Vera to your cousin's son and his wife on the baby, yes it's a worrying time for any pregnant woman at the moment, I'll keep my fingers crossed everything goes okay for her. Pleased to see you had a good nights sleep, OH went to the shops at 6.45am Tesco's opens at 7am around here, he said it's all done out in zones now so no one is to close to anyone else, he managed to get everything on our list, plus everything his friend needed, the other two shops he went to he got everything he needed there to. Iceland wouldn't let OH in at first as the first hour is for the elderly, until he explained that he's a care worker and only has one day off, so the woman let him in, which was nice of her. He said he was the only one in there.
He's just gone to his friend to give him his shopping now, he'll drop it off outside his front door as he's 81 years old so won't open the door to anyone as he's asthmatic. I'm pleased to see he's keeping himself safe. He had an online Asda delivery yesterday but they didn't have eggs, milk or his banana's, he'll have them all now, so he'll be pleased.
Thanks for forwarding Mandy's email Ann. Just to let you know Mandy it came through from you as well, when you sent it the second time. I love all your cross stitch especially the big house, or is it a shop, either way it's lovely, you are very clever. Have you thought of having them framed, they'd look lovely on your walls?
I didn't know you could use wool if the Aida holes are big enough Mel, I'll take a look when I've finished my second nightie and put some loops on OH's work trousers, he said they are a bit loose and he's having to use his belt, but without loops the trousers fall out of the belt. I don't think I have any navy blue material, but that won't matter as his tunic covers his waste so it won't be seen, which means any colour material would work. That'll teach me for asking him if he had anymore sewing that needed doing lol :-D
What did you think of "Rocketman" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" Ann, I thought they were really good and when they showed the picture of Elton John as a child, didn't the actor playing him look like his double? I wonder if he's a relative, they looked so much like each other when they were the same age. I think he was around 7 or 8 years old. So your OH beat you on the Wii Games, you'll have to have a re-match to see if you can beat him second time around.
Going to have a drink, then carry on with my sewing, I want to have it finished today if I can, then I can start the painting tomorrow when OH is back in work.

Missed your post there AnnG, sorry to hear you've pulled your back, rest up today and take it easy, I hope it heals soon.
Pity we don't live near any of you we could of helped with the shopping, to save you all having to go out.
OH said it looks like all the care workers are going to have the Coronavirus test, but he's not sure when that's going to happen yet. A different nurse took his temperature yesterday and he got the usual "You have a low temp" I think he's getting fed up of saying it's normal for him. His temperature is a steady 36. He has something wrong with him inherited from his mother's side where he's always cold. I can't remember the name of it now, but even in a heat wave he's cold. His fingers go white and sometimes his lips go blue. The first time his lips went blue when we were first married he was asleep, it frightened me so much I thought he was dead. I'm used to it now, but it did give me a shock I can tell you.

I was wondering where you were Mel, it's not like you to be on here so late. Pleased to see it was only the Internet and that you are okay. OH's have their uses don't they lol :-D
I'm just putting the roast on, we decided to have it today with OH working late last night, he doesn't like eating a large meal just before bed. He fell asleep on the sofa again, within a couple of minutes of sitting down, so we were in bed before 10pm, I watched a bit of TV and of course OH fell straight to sleep.....bless him.
I must admit I'm starting to feel tired with getting up so early and doing all the washing and ironing before 9am. I've almost finished the second nightie then I'll do the loops on OH's trousers for work, I can then relax this afternoon and catch up with a few programmes I recorded for us. I hope I don't do an OH and fall sleep on the sofa lol :-D :-D
