AnnG it is Checkout Amend you have to click on when you add things and you can just cross the page out to get out of it.

Loved the poem Frank and yes it took me back through the years. We also used to say:-

Manners, pianas, threepeny bits and tanners if we burped. Anyone remember that?

I have had a little paint this afternoon.

We did try to get into Morrisons click and collect but could'nt find it. We have registered with Morrisons incase they extend their range for delivery. On Asda sight it says they are 10.something miles from us. Don't know how far Morrisons come out but if they know who I am I usually spend nearly £200 a week in their store.

SuffolkVera Report 21 Mar 2020 21:23

A beautiful day here today, a bit cold but sunny and dry. This morning we wrapped up warmly and drove to the country park only a mile or so from here, then had a bit of a walk. We only met two or three dog walkers and it was easy to keep our distance and it was a real treat to get some fresh air and exercise. It’s not a huge area but very pleasant to walk in and never very busy. I understand that we can go out for exercise as long as we avoid any close contact so, weather permitting, we’re going to try to do that every day.

OH did some gardening jobs when we got back. I checked on two fuschia plants that were overwintering in the conservatory. I’ve thought for a while they didn’t look good but today I decided they had popped their clogs. The annoying thing is every year I take cuttings and give them away. Last year I didn’t take any cuttings so now I can’t replace my plants unless I buy some.

I also seem to have been on the phone for a good part of the day. I think everyone is suddenly missing social interaction so phoning all their friends. I also spoke to my brother and my daughter. Daughter was a bit fed up. Firstly, she is in school generally from about 8 am till about 6 pm so by the time she can shop in the evening the shelves are empty. She managed to get a few bits and pieces this morning. Then she has had a couple of days of dealing with difficult parents. The school she is currently working in takes pupils from some quite deprived areas and, sadly, some of the parents are quite feckless and don’t seem to think their kids are their responsibility. They have been claiming that their children should stay in school because they are vulnerable and get quite abusive when she explains their children don’t meet the criteria. Mostly they are stroppy teens whose parents don’t want them around every day. In addition she and other staff are trying to reorganise the curriculum to teach those in school and provide online lessons for those who aren’t, sort out the free school meals and the million and one other necessary changes. She has 21 staff off school because of self isolation. They almost certainly have coughs and colds picked up from the pupils but can’t take any chances. And people think teachers work from 9-3 and are always on holiday!!!

Ann, that’s great news about your council tax refund. Enjoy your turkey tomorrow. How big is it? You may be enjoying it for several days.

AnnG it’s good to hear that someone has got back from Florida. Virgin Atlantic are supposed to be getting dil home but can’t seem to tell her when it will be. I am just terrified that there will be a general stop on travel and she will be stuck there for months on end. That would be such a strain on her, my son and the rest of their family.

I love the idea of a Toad Patrol, Jane. It sounds like something out of Disney. Good luck with the cross stitch. I’m glad you have plenty of books. My kindle died on me about 4 months ago. I didn’t replace it as I thought OH would get me one for Christmas. I dropped enough hints. Then I thought he might buy it for my birthday but it didn’t materialise so I still haven’t got one. I’ve got Libby, the library app, on my iPad so I’m mostly using that at the moment.

Hope you all have a good night tonight and a nice day tomorrow

Morning all,

Sunshine and blue sky with a few white clouds this morning but its not as windy.

Now Iwonder if I can get the big girls cleaned out today? and a bit of garden tidying? At least over the past couple of day the chicken run has dried out a lot but it only needs a shower to turn it back into a mire.

Did you all sleep well? I do hope so. I went to bed at 11.50pm last night as tired as anything and don't remember much after I layed down.

Morning Mel, morning all

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MUM'S ON HERE <3 <3 <3

Hope you all have a lovely day with lots of nice presents and cards.

I got a lovely card off Sandra, I've just text her to say thank you, but her phone is off. I tried ringing mum but there was no answer there either. I hope everything is okay with Sandra as she never turns her phone off and as for mum, she's just had another eye operation and was telling me yesterday that she couldn't drive for a while, she also told me the Church was closed, so I don't know why Sandra and mum haven't answered their phones.......very strange.

I was busy yesterday so I didn't have the chance to come on here, I'll go and catch up with all the post now. BBL

Happy mothers day to you too Gill.

Iv,e just had a mothers day present from the deer. Oh was mowing up the top and came down and tapped on the window as I was typing the first line and he gave me a stags horn he ran over with the mower. I'll send a pick later. It has one of the points knocked off but I think it was done a while ago and not by the mower. :-D :-D :-D

Thanks Mel

What a day you had the other day Vera, what with the ink for the printer, your neighbour ringing for so long and the wrong colour dishwasher, I bet you were at your wits ends with it all. At least you found the dishwasher to be a better fit for your kitchen, colour wise, so that was good in the end. How nice of your daughter to help her ex MIL she's sounds very thoughtful, pity she can't get back to the UK though, have they said how long she'll need to stay in Florida? Plenty of cupboards to sort through to keep her busy and also a great help to her ex MIL to. Sorry to hear of your eldest Granddaughter's problems with Uni and losing her job, I hope things improve for her soon. Nice of her to offer to help you with the shopping etc... while she's at her dad's.

Brilliant news about your council tax going down Ann and them refunded the difference right back to 2015, that and the Turkey, it must feel like Christmas has come early for you both.

Yes the toilet roll situation has been sorted Jane, in fact OH managed to get hold of another 2 packs of 9 so we have enough to last us for quite a while yet. We won't
need to buy anymore now for a fair few months. I had to smile at your comment of Toad Crossing lol.

Oh dear AnnG, fancy your OH not cleaning the cement dust off your steps, it wouldn't of taken long either. I hope it can be cleaned now and doesn't leave a noticeable mark. Mandy's idea of how to get rid of it is good. How did you get on with your online shopping? I hope you managed it okay. All the shops by us seem to be well stocked again now, with just the odd one or two things missing. They did say the other day things would improve now everyone has stopped panic buying.

Yes, I was quite shocked at how many pot plants the woman had on Gardeners World Mandy, I doubt I'll ever have that many, she said it only took her 2 hours to water them all, it takes me about that time just to do mine, so she must be really quick. I loved the flowers all done up in what looked like an old house. The four poster bed with the flowers inside were wonderful weren't they and the water fall in the bathroom was a good idea. At first I thought it was a real run down house, then realised it was done up to look that way for a show.....Brilliant idea and very inventive to.

OH said he noticed the Sewing Bee being advertised on one of the residence TV, I tried to Google the start date but couldn't find it, then last night I saw the advert saying "Coming Soon" I don't watch BBC very often so I hope I don't miss the start date.

If anyone see's it advertised with the start date can you let me know please? Thanks.

I finally got around to watching the first Belgravia yesterday in time for the second one tonight. I missed it last week (forgot to put it on my planner) so I recorded it when it repeated a few days later, Is Oliver (I think that's the boy's name) the woman's grandson, I got a bit confused there? She said it was her son but then they showed her daughter having a baby before she died in childbirth. So I assume the little boy is her grandson, not her son. I had the sound down low as OH was asleep after a night shift, so I couldn't hear it very well, which didn't help.

Frank Report 22 Mar 2020 12:13

Good morning to you all, It will be afternoon my the time I post. lol lol

Everything here is tickerty boo. We ordered and collected a Chinese last night. and watched T.V. Stayed up later than usual, so hoped I would sleep better. IT WORKED. So I must try to change my time for bed.

Both Conrad and Harvey have rung Ros this morning. Conrad said the VIRUS is quite serious in Spain, and the police are coming down hard on anyone who is out and about without a good reason. i.e. Shopping or Drs.

It seemed strange driving through Towcester, and seeing the Restaurants and pubs all closed up, and hardly any traffic on the road, Hardley any people out also.

Ros wants to go in the garden again today, but it is so COLD out there, I have asked her to reconsider, and stay indoors. We will see.

I am sitting here with the thought that SHE is in the kitchen doing the veg for dinner. I am not feeling that good today, very tottery on my legs, and feeling faint. I bet I am right. Just a SEC and I will see. No she was in the front garden picking up leaves from yesterday. Ros has decided to clean all the windows inside. It makes me feel so lazy, leaving all the jobs to her.

How are you all coping with shopping and getting food delivered. We heard yesterday that someone who has a Egg Farm. Left trays of eggs outside, for people to take and payoff into a secure box. SOME LOW DOWN BASTARD. Has taken every tray of eggs, and tried to take the secured box. Their hands should DROP OFF. This sort of thing makes me so ANGRY. I suppose whoever stole them will sell them on and make a lot of money. We called into Tesco last night for some eggs, and there wasn't any on the shelf, and none in the stock room. The supermarkets MUST stop these people from taking everything off the shelves.

We are very lucky that we have people who are prepared to get what we NEED and drop it off at the door. When Ros gets low on anything we need, I will ask someone to try to get it for us. I really don't want Ros taking any risks, by going shopping, and chance her getting the VIRUS.

Please stay safe everyone, I will be thinking of you all. xxxx

Gillx Report 22 Mar 2020 13:18

Pleased to see you had a good nights sleep Frank. I was falling asleep on the sofa around 11pm so had an early night myself, it makes you feel so much better after a good nights sleep. How anyone can steal all those eggs and try to take the money box to, how low can people get? I hope you manage to find some eggs in the shops, we had problems to and after buying flour sugar and stork marg I needed some eggs to do some baking. Luckily OH found some yesterday so we're okay for them for now. I think we might have enough toilet rolls to last us some time so that's one less worry, good job we managed to get them as my tum was a bit upset this morning, thankfully though I think I'm okay now. I hope Conrad is okay in Spain, I'll keep my fingers crossed he stays safe.

I've just put the bedding in the wash.........finally. I had hoped to do it last week but OH decided to sleep all day so it was to late to do it once he got up. He's got up earlier today as he's not in work tonight, the sun is shinning and it's quite warm out there, so I'll be able to peg it on the line.

I finally got to speak to mum, she rang me after going to the shops, she thought it would be quieter on a Sunday but no, Tesco's had a queue almost all around the car park. I wouldn't mind but she didn't really need to go shopping as she always has lots of food in, she told me she has enough for 3 months now, but I doubt it'll stop her going out again, she even took her 92 year old friend with her. I really wish she would listen and stay in doors, but she's one of those people who won't be told. I just hope she doesn't catch the virus now. I'm surprised she is driving to after her eye op, but then she was the same after her last eye operation. She does worry me sometimes.

I've started with a dry cough and have a bit of a temperature, I've had a bladder infection so I'm hoping the temp is down to that. Apart from that I'm okay.

Hope everyone else is okay and managing with everything. I'm thinking of you all <3

I've had a look at my cross stitch kit and there is a Flamingo one in the box, I bought some extra cotton as the kit came with yellow for a bee pattern, so I'm going to see if I can do the Flamingo one for Sandra. I haven't mentioned it to her incase I can't do it.

Afternoon all,and Happy Mothers Day

What a lovely day,we have beautiful sunshine and blue sky .

Gill if you have a dry cough and a temp i really don't think your OH should risk going in to work ,these are the two symptoms of the Virus ,you can't be sure that it's to do with the bladder infection.
Fancy your mum going shopping with the 92 year old too :-0

People just don't seem to be taking any notice of the warnings that have been given to stay at home .
I see the coast has been packed with people and people have been going to Scotland in Camper vans .

My throat is not so dry now but my voice is still croaky ,not helping when i have to repeat what i say to OH as he hasn't heard the first time .

Gillx

Gillx Report 22 Mar 2020 14:40

My cough has eased off a bit now Mandy, luckily OH isn't in work for a few days, but if the cough does come back then he'll stay at home with me. I'm not going out anywhere at the moment, just in case. Pleased to hear your throat has started to feel better, lets hope the croaky voice sorts itself out soon.

My OH is losing his hearing but won't admit it, so I know how you feel having to repeat yourself all the time, I'm doing the same. I don't think he want's to admit he has hearing problems as this has been going on for quite some time now. I have mentioned it to him and asked him to see the doctor, but he keeps saying he's alright, which of course he isn't, so I've given up mentioning it. Now he's working I don't notice it as much as he's either asleep during the day or working. He's got his first overtime shift next week, there was a list of dates they needed staff for, but apart from one day, he was already working. He's put his name down for his day off. Let's hope he can go now, with me having this cough. I'm sure it's not the virus, but will have to wait and see.

OH and I have just moved a few pots around in the garden, I had some Tulips right down the bottom of the garden behind the tall conifers, so they are now in the sun. It looks like the squirrel's have been at the pots though, some of the Tulips are broken and knocked about a bit. Hopefully the ones that are left will start to look better once they've had a bit of sun on them. We also moved some primula's to the bottom border as I only had one pot of them and it looked lonely on it's own and a bit daft, so there are two pots of them now which balances everything out. OH is cutting the lawns now before the washing finishes so I can peg it outside without us being in each other's way.

Yes, I though it was a bit daft my mum going out, especially with her 92 year old friend, who has lots of health issues, but I thought she might do it, so I'm not that surprised.

I can't believe people are still going away, do they not realise how risky it is. It's people like that who are going to spread the virus around.

I can hear a few neighbours have people at their's, it must be for Mother's Day. Sandra text me to wish me happy Mother's Day which was nice, this is my first one without her, it does feel strange. Michelle hasn't bothered with me for years, so no message off her, not even a card. They bought my mum a card and posted her a present so that was nice for mum. It was a big box of teabags as mum couldn't get hold of any, so asked for them. I didn't get any presents this year, but did get a card off Sandra which was nice.

Going to run a bath, then they'll be more washing, at least the weather is nice so it can all go on the line.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Mar 2020 15:03

good afternoon all. What a glorious day it is here today and 11 degrees outside so very pleasant too.
and I just spent about an hour and a half in the garden, tidying the hosta bed and taking moss off the hostas in pots, tidying all the other pots on the lower patio, cutting down the grasses that needed it and cutting out a part of a lavender bush that had died off. Oh yes sorted out a few of the ferns too and pruned a couple of Salvias. Doesn't sound a lot but it is the first I have done this year and my back didn't like it very much. OH is cleaning the lower patio now with the pressure washer, just the path under the kitchen window to do then he can put the washer away, he has done all the rest twice and it looks a lot better.

We are staying in of course, not intending to go out at all at the moment, a walk out somewhere quiet might happen later. I am fed up with all the selfish people who are still going out when it is unnecessary, Did you see all the people at Skegness yesterday, and today I have heard that local parks are full of children. OK they might not get it very badly but any virus germs they pick up will be taken home to parents and grandparents. I don't understand wht people can't see this
It is the same as panic buying and people buying extra freezers to put stuff in. why can't they shop normally for two weeks ahead and then go out 2 weeks time and do it again. food (and toilet rolls incidentally) won't run out if people shop normally. I worked out that, by not going mad with it and probably saving the drains one toilet roll could last one person about a week. (unless they have a problem of course). So why do people have to stock up every time they spot them in the shop? Rant over.

Mel did you get the chooks cleaned out? Hope your weather is like ours. I have left the on line order for now as it is not an immediate need. We will cope, however, I will look again in the week and see if there are slots. I am hoping eventually people are going to run out of money. I believe the fact that restaurants and pubs are now shut and people who were going out for Mothers day are 'let down' there has been more panic buying today. Surely there is something amongst what they have already bought that could be used for todays meal?

Mandy eventually OH removed the cement stain with something he had for removing Agae and then pressure washing with an old pressure washer cleaning fluid he had and it has gone. So thanks for making him think about the sort of thing he needed.

Vera, what a shame about the fuschia plants. Could you order some by post?
Your poor daughter, people are so selfish and nasty in this awful crisis. And I believe it was the parents who were saying that schools should be shut. So now they don't like it. I think it will end up with police having to be available in schoold to protect teachers.

Gill your Mum really should not be going out and taking a 92 year old out with her. If she or her friend get the virus and are taken to hospital that is more strain on the NHS and more beds used and will lead to more people dying. I am sure she should be able to understand that. It is the whole reason for over 70s to stay home unless the journey out is really unavoidable.
Not that she will take notice of you I suppose.
The flamingo cross stitch sounds a good one if you can do it.
So you have enough toilet rolls now for the 12 weeks I would think.
and if you have a fever (temp over 38ish and a dry cough you should maybe ask 111 about your OH going to work. as Mandy suggests. As you have not been out anywhere it could be that your OH has brought it home.

Frank that is awful about the eggs. How can anyone be so mean? I hope everyone in the area is looking out for cheap eggs on sale.
Hopefully you and ros will not be going out. I see that the latest information was people with underlying health problems should not go out AT ALL.

Mothers day and I have a card from my son but daughters has stuck in the post. so many post men are self isolating that our patch didn't get any mail yesterday. Still I had the lovely parcel from her on Friday. Don't remember if I told you. a box with a cream tea in it for two (cream, scones and strawberry jam) and a ploughmans for two as well (Devon mature cheddar cheese, devon chutney and a packet of biscuits for cheese.) so that is what we are having this evening. (Had our Sunday roast yesterday so we will start with chicken sandwiches.

Gillx Report 22 Mar 2020 16:09

So much for me pegging my washing out, someone has lit a fire somewhere and on a lovely day like today, you'd think they'd realise people would want to peg their washing out. What makes it worse is my dryer is broken so I've had to put the heating on to dry it all. What a waste of money. The smell is coming through the air vent right where I'm sitting. Yuk.

Only just got around to checking my emails.

Lovely picture of you AnnG, the hair cut suits you. Nice to put a face to the name. <3 Love the wool felted cat brooch, it's really cute. I've never done cross stitch before so I hope I can make the Flamingo one for Sandra, I'll have to read all the instructions carefully before I start.

The cream tea and ploughmans sound really nice. Was it delivered to you? I noticed on the news last night that someone was making up cream teas for mum's who couldn't get out on Mother's Day. She'd made up loads of them. How nice was that. Pleased to see your OH managed to get rid of the cement stains.

All the photo's were lovely Jane, what a nice place to visit and the sky is so blue. How are you feeling now? You're looking well. <3 How are you getting on with your cross stitch?

Another lovely sunny picture, it must be nice to have a walk knowing there's no one around Vera. At least you're being sensible and not going out where there's lots of people.

My temperature has gone down now, it started yesterday so maybe I just had a 24 hour bug with having a funny tum, so there was no need in the end for OH to buy the extra toilet rolls for me. At least they'll keep so I won't have to buy anymore for a while. The cough seems to have calmed down to, thankfully. I was a bit worried I'd caught the virus, but it seems that's not the case. I least I hope so anyway.

There's been a lot of people in their gardens today, I think it's because the weather is warmer, we've had the sun for days now, but it's been to cold to do any gardening until today. The lawns are finished and look much better now. We've still got more gardening to do but I'm busy with other things, so it'll have to wait a while.

SuffolkVera Report 22 Mar 2020 17:57

Happy Mothers’ Day to all the mums on here. Mine haven’t made a big deal of Mothers’ Day since they were young but daughter texted me first thing this morning and son phoned a bit later. He had his middle daughter with him (the one who was about to take A-Levels) so I got to talk to her as well which was lovely. They were just driving up to Cumbria to walk in the fells. With three daughters and a stressful job that takes a lot of his time he doesn’t get to spend much time with the girls on a one-to-one basis so it will be lovely for them both to spend a bit of Dad and daughter time together.

It’s lovely that you had a card and text from Sandra Gill. I expect that cheered you up a bit. Your Mum is very naughty going out and taking her older friend, but some people just won’t be told will they. We have a friend in her early 70s who insists she is going to carry on with her normal life and won’t listen when we say that this isn’t a normal situation. I will talk to her on the phone but I won’t be going anywhere near her for several months. Keep a very close check on your temperature and cough and even if you have the tiniest niggle of doubt don’t let OH go to work. I haven’t watched the first episode of Belgravia yet but OH has set the machine to record the whole series for me so I can watch it when I get time.

I’m glad you slept better last night Frank. Perhaps staying up a bit later is the way to go. It’s good you have people prepared to shop for you, you certainly don’t want to be fighting the crowds in the shops. Stay indoors and enjoy your books and your garden and stay safe. Your story about the egg thieves is dreadful. What sort of people would do something like that? They need a good sharp lesson in knowing right from wrong.

I’m glad your cough is a bit better Mandy but sorry that the cough and sore throat has left you a bit croaky. Just tell yourself your voice is husky and sexy rather than croaky. I know how you feel at having to repeat everything. I have the same problem and my OH has the best hearing of anyone I know. He has the TV on so quietly that no-one else can hear it. The problem with my man is that his hearing is very selective and my voice just doesn’t seem to penetrate his brain.

It sounds as though you and your OH have been busy in the garden AnnG. Don’t overdo it as you don’t want to be stuck indoors with a bad back. I see your OH has been cleaning things up with the pressure washer. I wish mine would get one but it’s another of his odd foibles. He doesn’t like pressure washers. He won’t have them used on the car or our paths and patio. I like the sound of your cream tea and your ploughmans. I could just fancy a scone with jam and cream right now. After I’d sent yesterday’s post I suddenly remembered that I had grown a couple of cuttings into decent sized plants two years ago and I gave them to a friend to put by her front door. I think she still has them so I might ask her if she could take a couple of cuttings and keep them for me to collect when we can start socialising again.

I have to admit to going out to a shop today but I was very careful , waited in the car till there weren’t many people in the shop, then went and got what was needed, used gel as soon as I was back in the car and scrubbed my hands when I got home. The reason for going was to try and ease a bit of the load for my poor hard pressed daughter. One of her dogs has a medical condition and his pancreas is only 10% effective. He has to have a special diet food that is based on white fish and doesn’t contain any wheat or other grains. It’s generally available and she gets it in Pets at Home. She has about a week’s supply left so spent a lot of yesterday chasing round trying to get some more without any success. We think people are worrying that the supermarkets are going to run out of dog food so are buying up any supplies they can get, leaving the dogs that really need it without food. Daughter was really worried so this morning I went to the Pets at Home near us to see if they had any in store and I managed to get her a 15 kg bag (at £40!) . That will last him a little while. I texted her to say I had got some and she was so relieved and grateful. It means a 50 mile round trip for her to collect it and she’ll come up next weekend and pick it up from the doorstep. If the weather is nice we’ll put a chair outside for her and we can chat for a few minutes through the window or door.

We did have one bit of good news from our son. His wife was getting nowhere with Virgin Atlantic in America so he had a go from this end. He had to hold on for 2 hours before he could speak to anyone but stuck it out and eventually got some sense out of them. They are still able to make a daily flight from Florida to London and they are expecting her to be on Wednesday’s plane, although that is still subject to change but at least son has got them moving and confirming that they will bring her home. She flew out from Manchester but London is OK. It just means son will have to drive down from Yorkshire to pick her up. At least she will be home.

I think it is definitely time for a cuppa now. Have a good evening everyone.

Afternoon All.

Lovely sunshine and flowers coming out everywhere. How different and gloomy and much worse it would have been if we were still having the endless rain and floods just now.

Vera what a time you had with the printer and dishwasher and long telephone call. I hope your DIL isn't stuck in Florida for ages. That looks a good place to walk where you went.

Things haven't gone to plan here either. Why is there so much conflicting advice about thawing a flipping Turkey? I haven't had a frozen chicken or Turkey for years now so thought I would look up the latest opinion and, as the fridge was full, settled for putting it in cold water for the 4 hours recommended and changing the water every half hour. OH got up at 6.00am to do it. After the 4 hours I noticed the instructions on it said to thaw it at room temperature for 15 hours!! So I managed to make room on the bottom shelf of the fridge once some of the veg were prepared, so we are having it tomorrow now! Instead we had chicken dijon with the veg today. Then I found a plastic box with some rotten potatoes swimming around in it in a cupboard in the utility room that I'd obviously forgotten I'd put there, so that was a horrid task cleaning that out. Then while we were showering the smoke alarm went off, just like yours did Gill! OH managed to find a battery and replace it, but was still chirping. Then he tried resetting it, but that didn't work so we think the spare battery we had was so old it has no charge any more. By leaving the battery in but not pushing it in place, it seems to have stopped the noise, so we are leaving it like that till we get another battery while we are out tomorrow. I thought I was going to have to sleep in my cinema earplugs that Mel got me tonight!! lol. :-D

Frank I can't believe the behaviour of some people. How mean! I was reading how recently people were stealing hand sanitisers, even at the doctor's and one member of hospital staff said someone had gone into a patients' toilet and unrolled all the toilet paper and took it away in a bag.

I can't believe your mum and her taking a 92 year old out with her as well Gill. She seems as if she just does what she wants regardless of anyone. Mind you there have been family visiting at 2 bungalows over the road today and their parents are in their 70s! Stupid. It was good you got a nice card from Sandra, but I would think by now she must be missing you both a lot. I hope you don't have the virus and that your cough and sore throat get better quickly.

AnnG I think that was a great idea to send you a cream tea for Mother's Day and I hope you enjoyed the treat! It makes such good sense in the current situation to send food to mothers rather than flowers.

Our next door neighbour had to call the RAC out to her car in the drive this morning. I don't know, but her car hasn't been used for a few weeks with them being away ages twice and then self isolating, so I thought maybe she had a flat battery. We haven't been out for about a week now, but the trip to take OH's car in tomorrow should top up our car batteries.

Just a quick update. Just had a phone call from son. Dil got a message at 10 am Florida time to be at Orlando airport by 8 pm. She lands at Gatwick fairly early tomorrow morning. Having done a fair bit of driving and fell walking today son is now on his way to Gatwick, where he has a hotel booked. He reckons to arrive at Gatwick around 11 pm, do some office work for a couple of hours, then try to get a bit of sleep before meeting his wife and driving back to Yorkshire. We’re just relieved she’s on her way.

Yes I did clean the big girls out this afternoon and the wind had dropped a lot by then. I did a very little bit of gardening too and it was a little bit.

Ann the little brooch is lovely your friend made you.

I don't know if any of you buy from Cotton Traders and order by phone but oh has just come out and told me that a number I had rung charges 20p a minuet plus the call charge. The last time I ordered soemthing from them was Christmas when he bought me my warm coat. He found out who the number was and then came and told me to order anything else by email. I don't buy a lot from them now. I used to buy lots of things for oh from them but they don't do his size now.

I did'nt get any pics from Jane so could one of you please forward them to me please?

Now to find something for tea as oh usually has scotch eggs and I was'nt able to get any this week.
