Morning all
Good luck at the dentist AnnG, that's one thing I don't like but it has to be done doesn't it?
Hope all goes well today Jane, just keep thinking it's one less for you to go through. Looking forward to hearing from you later if you come on here. <3 <3 <3
I hope you sort out your insurance Mel, it's a nuisance when that happens, maybe something has changed and they haven't told you.
I've just found another section on OH's tree I haven't copied over from the tree match, so I'll be taking a look at that today.
It's quite warm here, no frost, so I've just been tidying up Sandra's little garden for her. I have lots of grasses here and there, including Sandra's area and the tips of them had gone a bit brown, so I've been cutting them off, it looks much better now.
There are ladders up against the extension next door, it looks like he's had a leak on his new flat roof and a few roofers have been looking lately, so it looks like he's either got someone else to look at it or the work is going to start today. I hope it doesn't take to long and it's not to noisy.
Going to drink my tea now, then take a look at OH's tree for him.

Morning all,
Thinking of Jane.......sending love for a boring day. <3 <3 <3
its all frosty agai this morning but not as heavy as it was yesterday. Yesterday there were no fern patterns on my car windows but this morning there is so perhaps more of an air frost last night? They are all over the roof of the car too. Yesterday it looked like it had a crew cut with sticky up ice crystals. Still the suns out and thats what matters. I could get used to this everyday.
Donkey day again..............they come around so quickly. I won't go out till a bit of the frost has gone but I do have to drive through some places the sun dos'nt reach all day but thats within walking distance of home if the car won't go up there for the frost.
What are you lot up to today?

I missed your post there Mel, mine's at the bottom of the previous page.
I hope it's not to frosty for Donkey Day. Wrap up warm and take care on the roads.
We were lucky today, after two morning's of frost it was much warmer outside this morning, so after feeding the birds I did a bit of gardening. At this rate I'll have nothing left to do by the spring. I took a look down the bottom of the garden yesterday and have noticed all my bulbs are starting to grow in their pots, so they'll need moving soon, once the last frost has gone. It can be very windy and cold since we took the garage down so I'm going to leave the bulbs where they are for now as it's more sheltered and warm and they seem to be okay. All we need now is much warmer weather so OH can do the first cut on the lawns, it's a bit early for that at the moment though, so the long grass is spoiling the look of the garden.

The trainers have just arrived Jane, thank you so much they are brilliant and fit just right. I can't get over how much warmer my feet are now. You are so kind thank you, thank you, thank you <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 I can throw my old religious shoes away now (holy) lol :-D :-D :-D I love the card you sent to. Sandra has her eye on it but I'm going to keep it.
I hope all is going well for you, like I said earlier each session is one less to do, so keep looking forward. I'm thinking of you, take care. <3 <3

Morning All,
Frost here too and it is very cold. I was still awake at 4.00am so not a good night. The neighbour opposite seems to be on call at the moment and leaving during the night and early hours, so all the door slamming as he loads his van and headlights and his security light coming through our blinds may not have helped.
Mandy you used to do really well on your exercise bike doing all those miles! I used to manage half an hour on my cross trainer, but stopped when I had an operation, then like you I never really got back into it again. I am trying to do it most days now and increase it a bit each week ideally till I do 15 minutes twice a day, but that remains to be seen! OH has been joining in on the cross trainer some mornings. I have a treadmill as well, but want t ask the surgeon if that would be bad for my knees even with replacements and if so it will have to go and I'll stick with the bike! I'd love to see what you have made with crochet, they sound really nice. :-)
Oh dear Vera, your poor OH and you must both be disappointed with him hurting himself again! I hope he recovers quickly this time, but it would be a worry about going abroad and being in the fix you were in last year.
Frank, I hope the scan finds the problem for Ros and that they can fix it for her. What a shame about your Toby meal, but it's best to complain or they will never improve. Most people don't bother.
I hope the day passes quickly for you Jane and that Fitz helps pass some of the time. One treatment less and nearer the end!! <3 <3
I managed to book our Cornish break last night. We were lucky as there was only 1 week left around the time we usually go that OH is free, but all done now! :-D
I hope your checkup went well AnnG. It's when they frown and poke a bit more that you wonder if they've found something.
That's great that the trainers Jane sent fit you Gill. Now you will have cosy toes!! You must have a lot of people between your and OH's trees now with all the work you have done. I really must get back to doing more of mine.
Hope you have a good shopping day Mel and I'd better go as I can hear the shower and I am always first before the bathroom gets too hot for me! BBL

Morning from my comfy chair here at the hospital.Boy was it white earlier. It almost looked like it had snowed. It is quiet here at the moment.Just 6 of us .The lady who was next to me just now has had her treatment and gone already!! The chap opposite me wheeled his drip stand over to help me get on the internet as I was having a bit of trouble :-S I'm glad the trainers are fine Gill .Goodness me they got there fast. They were posted yesterday afternoon!!!!! I did think Sandra would like the card and thought she might have liked to cut out the fairy :-D
The lady with the tea/coffee trolley is here so I shall have a cupcake now. Hope the roads are ok Mel for shopping. Is it Bideford today?

Yes I have toasty feet now Ann :-D :-D :-D The trainers fit really nicely and are a slim fit which is great as the ones Sandra lent me were a bit to wide, she has much wider feet than me, the trainers Jane gave me are very comfy and did I mention warm lol :-D :-D :-D
Sorry to hear you were awake at 4am, what does your neighbour do if he has to be on call and go out in a van? It must be a nuisance having bright lights shining in your bedroom, maybe you could buy a blackout blind, we had one in our old house and they are great, although it wouldn't stop the noise of banging van doors though. I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight. Pleased to hear you got the last week available for your Cornish holiday, that was lucky wasn't it? I should imagine they are booked up quickly with it being such a popular area for holidaying.
Yes, there are a fair few people between OH's and my trees, but it keeps me out of mischief and can be quite interesting sometimes, especially the story of the woman who cancelled her trip to New York on the Titanic. You never know what stories you'll find do you?
How is your OH with his sore rib today Vera, I hope he managed to get some sleep and you of course, if he was moving around a bit it might disturb you to.
How did you get on at the dentist AnnG, hope nothing needed doing.
I'd love to see the things you make with your crochet when they're finished, they sound lovely Mandy. You've reminded me I got a crochet kit last year but haven't looked at it yet. I might take a look when I've finished OH's tree.
It looks like next door has got the insurance to sort his flat roof out as there was a few people taking photo's, so it looks like he might be having a new roof.

That was nice of the man opposite to help you get on the internet Jane. Yes, I thought the trainers arrived quickly, although the postman was writing out his card to post through the door very quickly, it only took me a few seconds to get to the door to. They don't hang around do they? Normally I would give Sandra the cards but I would like to keep this one. She has plenty of other cards to cut up and is okay with me keeping it. Enjoy your cupcake, are you having a nice cup of tea to go with it?
It sounds like everyone has has frost today, it's quite warm here. Hope it's cleared up for Mel to drive to the shops now and is safe for anyone else travelling this morning.

Got oh's curry out for tonight and my lasagne so thats dinner sorted. I don't seem to have much on my shopping list this week but I suppose I shall still spend a fortune as usual. I don't put the usual things on the list only things I run out of.
Sorry you had another bad night Ann perhaps tonight will be ok. I usually find that if I have a bad night the next one is ok. I went to bed earlier for me last night at 1am.

Afternoon all,
My goodness what a nasty morning we woke up to ,freezing fog and a very sharp frost ,it took till late morning to clear and now we have some lovely bright sun with blue sky .
Jane fancy sending Gill those trainers we're trying to get her to slow down and now she'll be going twice as quick jogging every where :-D :-D :-D that was good they fitted well Gill and sounds as if they are keeping your feet nice and warm . Didn't they get there quickly you couldn't ask for better service .
Jane that was handy having the chap there to help get you connected to the internet . I expect Fitz is there with you now so you'll have a little company ,he'll probably keep everyone amused as he quite a chap isn't he :-D :-D I keep meaning to ask how your hip is doing and Fitz's too ?
Son came and swept the chimney and it's now lit and no smoke now ,we just need to buy some flue and chimney cleaner to put on now and then to keep the chimney cleaner ,i must admit we have missed the fire the last few days even though we have the central heating we keep us warm it's still nice to have the fire too.
I had a terrible night last night ,just got into bed and my tummy starting churning ,i was in and out two or three times in the night so tonight will be an early night to catch up with my sleep.

good afternoon all,
My, you have been busy chatting away, while I have been in my chair reading. lol lol
I can speak from experience about damaged ribs. It seems ages ago that I fell and broke three ribs and punctured my lung. I wish your OH a speedy recovery Vera.
"Happy feet" now gill, what size are your feet. ??
This new medication is certain;y working, I took my normal tablets around 8.00 pm with the new one about 10.00 when I went to bed. I was awake part of the night, Ros came into the bedroom at 10.00 am and I was just waking up. She's gone off with Carolyn for most of the day, afire being at the Hospital for 10. 50 this morning to check on her infection.
I have been wearing my new teeth all day, everyday since I had them, so doing fine.
I loved our cruise to the Caribbean with Jan and Conrad. I would go again. without a lot of pushing. lol lol
As I said yesterday, I have done dinner for tonight, so nothing to do today. I have x chnged the water in the potatoes, and will do so again before I boil them.
Nice clean Chimney now Mandy. How often does it need doing. We haven't had an open fire since we left Gayton over 20 years ago.
I might be wrong, but has Jane finished her treatment by now, as she had to be there early this morning. I HOPE you are feeling O.K. my love xxxx
Such a beautiful afternoon here, I wish my legs were stronger, as I would be tempted to take a walk round the village. It's no good asking Ros to walk with me as she can't walk far anyway. Perhaps Carolyn might walk with me, just so I have help if I need it.
I trust you are all well, I am off to get a COT and another read, until Madam gets home/ See you later. xxxx

My feet are a size 4 or 5 Frank, the trainers are size 7 so I was expecting them to be a bit big but they fit just fine, they are a slim fit which is great as my feet are very narrow and most footwear is to wide for me which is why I think they fall off. Jane said they were a small size more like a 6 so I'm wearing two pair of socks and they are very comfy and warm. I'm so grateful as my shoes really did need throwing away, but I didn't have another pair of flat shoes to wear in place of them so I had to keep wearing them.
I see you have a lovely clean chimney now Mandy, with all the frost around you'll be grateful of the fire again. I bet it's nice and cosy now. I smiled at your comment of me jogging around, you're probably right though, I can't sit down for very long before I find something to do.
I do have the odd day off like today, we're watching the secret life of pets 2, we've just watched the first one. We bought them for Sandra for Christmas but I thought we didn't have a DVD player to play them on after the last one broke, but luckily I found one boxed up in the back of a wardrobe in the spare bedroom I'd forgot about, so she's enjoying her films now. I've got a few DVD's myself I wouldn't mind watching when Sandra's finished. In the meantime I'm going through OH's tree again as I've missed a few people I need to copy over from the tree match.
How wonderful to have 4 eggs today Mel, you must be very pleased. Do they lay around that amount every day? That would be a lot of eggs each week if they do.

It’s been a chatty day on here today. Funny how some days there are only a few short posts and another day there are lots of longer ones.
We had a really heavy frost last night and, although the sun is out, it has taken a long while to clear. The hellebore outside my kitchen window looked wonderful this morning. The leaves were stiff and frosty with a sparkling white rim all the way round. I should have taken a photo but didn’t think of it till it was too late.
You’ll know all about sore ribs then Frank. OH cracked a couple of ribs several years ago so he knows what it feels like and that’s why he is sure it is his ribs. It was so silly – he had a coughing fit while cleaning his teeth, grabbed hold of the basin and felt something go round the back where the ribs go round to the spine. Then the next morning he was showering and lifted his leg to wash and pulled his ribs even more. He is being very careful now how he moves as it was the same side that was immobilised last summer. I think the pain has eased a bit but he will not take anything as he says if the pain is deadened he could do more damage without realising it. He has a point I suppose and he is trying to walk round the room every so often so that he doesn’t seize up completely. Gill, I don’t have to worry about him disturbing me at night. If one of us is unwell we use separate bedrooms.
Mel, that was a stupid parcel from Amazon. I had something similar at Christmas from my dil. A fairly large flat box arrived, completely open at one end and it had obviously never been sealed up. Inside was one small box; no other packing. I had no idea if that was the complete present or whether something had gone missing through the open end. I took photos and sent them to dil in case anything was missing and she needed to contact Amazon. It was in fact all there but why didn’t they put in a bit of packing and seal the end? I’ll have to see if I still have the photos and send them to you. I hope Donkey Day wasn’t too tiring for you this week. I’ve got a Tesco delivery tomorrow. I have a delivery every 4-5 weeks of tinned and packaged goods and cleaning stuff etc. If I pick my delivery slot carefully it only costs £1 to have someone do the boring bit of going round the shelves and filling the trolley, and delivering it right to the kitchen. I do still have to shop a bit as I like to choose my own fresh stuff like meat and veg.
AnninG, I hope you got on OK at the dentist and came away with nothing to be done. You were right to think I don’t drive at night. I gave that up about 3 years ago. I am very short sighted in one eye and long sighted in the other and as I got older I found that oncoming lights could cause me problems. I would seem to see a shape ahead and wonder if it was a person or something by the roadside and would slow up in case it was a hazard, only to find there was nothing there. I felt it could be a bit dangerous to other drivers if I kept slowing up so I stopped night driving. I would only do it now in an emergency. As it happens, I wouldn’t have taken the car last night anyway as the Community Centre is only a couple of minutes’ walk away. I managed to get there without dropping anything and the evening went well.
You are doing well with your new teeth Frank. Can we see a photo of your lovely new smile? It sounds as though your new meds are helping as well. You certainly seem to be sleeping better.
I didn’t have a bad night last night but it sounds as though Ann and Mandy were awake for a lot of it. I hope your dicky tummy is feeling better now Mandy and you and Ann both get a better night tonight. I envy you your fire Mandy. We had an open fire in our last house and I do miss it. It always looks so warm and cheerful. We only lit ours at weekends and times like Christmas but I always got the chimney swept once a year, just to be on the safe side.
I’m pleased the trainers Jane sent are a suitable fit for you Gill. I smiled as well at Mandy’s comment that you’ll be jogging around even faster now.
Did you enjoy your cupcake Jane? How long does your chemo take? It seems to vary from person to person. The friend that OH has been taking to and from hospital goes 3 days running every 3 weeks. His first day is a long one, about 7-8 hours and the next two are much shorter, only a couple of hours. It must be boring and miserable for you but each session is a step closer to getting well again so keep your chin up. Sending love.
I was a bit down yesterday but I am feeling better today and have been “doing a Gill” i.e. whizzing round like a whirlwind getting lots done. I’ve given all the downstairs a thorough dusting and hoovering, done another load of washing, got all the ironing done and managed lots of little odd jobs as well. I had a look round the garden (that took all of 10 seconds lol) and decided that there is really only a bit of weeding to do and some cleaning up of some brickwork. The garden looks untidy because I haven’t cut back last year’s dead foliage and stems on a lot of the perennials. I generally leave them till late spring as they are protecting the new shoots from the worst of the weather. I have a bit of a surprise waiting for me as I have clearly planted something in two large pots and I can’t for the life of me remember what. I had some mini irises, two sorts of daffs and two sorts of miniature tulips and planted them all in medium size pots and put name labels in the pots. I don’t remember planting up the two big pots, and I certainly haven’t put a name label in them, but there are a couple of shoots just poking through the earth, so it will be interesting to see what comes up. I must remember that my memory isn’t as good as it used to be and I need to mark everything.
Well, I have rabbitted on as usual. Time to make another cuppa I think, then I must sort out some veg for tonight’s dinner and take the dustbin down the road ready for the collection tomorrow morning. Have a nice evening everyone.

Oops I am all behind getting on here today. Had dentist theis morning and now have an appointment for a deep clean one side 4 February, he can only do one side at a time because of having the injections. Something to 'look forward' to. when we got home, after we's had coffee I made some soup out of left over veg etc from Sunday then OH started on cleaning out the conservatory and clearing up behind the furniture and I cleared out the cutlery drawer in the kitchen (where do all the crumbs come from?) I got rid of a lot of old silver forks and a few spoons they are going to the charity shop witha few other bits of silver. maybe they can get some money somehow for them. anyway it all looks nice and tidy, as I had a box I was putting stuff in I then had a quick look and fished a few odd bits out of the main sideboard cupboard then did the pillowcase drawer and filled the box up with the surplus from there. Hopefully we will get that to the shop tomorrow after the doctors.
Gill that was quick for that parcel, it must be where you live, didn't one I sent one time get to you really quickly. Good that the shoes fit anyway and also good that your feet are now warm.
Jane hope it is over soon for you today, it is a long boring day but wasn't that nice of the man to come over and help you get on line. Do you find people are friendly.
Mandy hope you have a better sleep tonight and that you are feeling better now. Was it something you ate do you think?
Annx hope you have a better night tonight as well. Not too bad at the dentist today other than the deep clean I think he errs on the side of 'leave well alone' although he did have a deeper prod at one time. I was determined not to re-act! Where in Cornwall are you staying. We have a week booked In May near Falmouth.
Frank, good that your new meds seem to be helping, you sound much chirpier. :-) :-)

Yes AnnG parcels do tend to arrive here quickly apart from the one off Mel that time when it was sent to Chester by mistake and had to come back here, but that was a one off. I see all you need is a deep clean, so not a bad visit to the dentist after all.
Pleased to see your shopping didn't take to long to do Mel, I guess the roads weren't to bad then? Have you used your oven again, how are you getting on with it?
Hope you have a better nights sleep tonight Mandy and your tummy is better now.
So you have some pots of plants and you don't know what they are Vera, that'll be a nice surprise in the spring. Sorry you were feeling down yesterday, it's horrible when you feel like that. I did smile when you said your were doing a Gill and whizzing around, I suppose I am like that even though I feel I'm slowing down compared to the way I used to be. I haven't done much today apart from a bit of gardening earlier, I've been watching films all afternoon, which makes a nice change and done a bit more on OH's tree. So quite a relaxing day all around for a change.
How did you get on today Jane? I bet the cupcake was nice especially with a lovely cuppa. Hope you don't feel to dizzy like you did last time and manage to get some decent sleep tonight. Sending gentle hugs off Sandra and I <3 <3
I'm pleased the new meds are working for you Frank, hope it helps you sleep better to.

Pleased your evening went well. Who would have thought you could damage a rib while cleaning your teeth? No I know you can do it coughing. I hope it will heal soon. Yes dentist was not too bad today. However I have the usual deep cleaning to look forward to about 4 or 5 injections on each side and the teeth cleaned right down to the bit in the gums, luckily it is only the injections that hurt and the discomfort but it is not something I look forward to.
Used the air fryer tonight. The meal was 3 separate items from the reduced shelf. Onion bagees, COD goujons both done in the fryer and prawn Masala and rice in the microwave. Total cooking time was about 16 minutes at 170 for the friyer, oven temp would have been 200 so must be cheaper.
