That's good you are home now Jane and it sounds like you are managing a bit better with eating although I did wonder how you managed a cupcake, till you explained. It sounds like you have a few tablets to take and I hope the dizziness isn't so bad this time. I expect, like me you will be having an early night. :-)
Frank how great the chap made your teeth such a good fit! I hope you have a good night tonight as it makes you feel so much better.
Will catch up with the thread tomorrow as I think OH is ready for bed as well. I hope Vera and her hubby manage to get a restful night too.

Good you are home and fed Jane. Have a good nights sleep. My water pills get me up every night at least once. Be good if you didn’t get the dizziness at all, you can only hope.
Yes not pleasant Gill but not usually too sore afterwards and it has helped my teeth not loosen as much.

Morning all
Damp here today, no rain just damp air. At least it's warmer with no more frost.
Nothing much planned for today a bit of washing and then I'll take another look at OH's tree. I don't think I've got much to copy over now, so hopefully it won't be long before I've copied everything over.
Going to the dentist isn't pleasant for me either AnnG, but like you said it helps.
Hope you had a good nights sleep last night Jane and you don't feel to bad today. Let's hope the dizziness eases off a bit now and isn't as bad as last time.
Going to get a cuppa then run a bath, my hair needs colouring again, but also needs washing. If I wash it today I can colour it the day after tomorrow as the colouring says not to colour your hair straight after washing it. Not sure why, but best to stick to the instructions.
What's everyone else up to today?

Morning all
No frost or sun here this morning but horrible fog and damp. I feel sorry for anyone driving to work in it.
AnnG, I’ve never had a teeth deep clean but it doesn’t sound very nice. In fact I had never heard of it till I came on this thread and a couple of people mentioned it.
Hope you are feeling OK this morning Jane.
OH seems a little better. He said that the pain woke him every time he moved in the night but he got back to sleep quite quickly. I had a reasonably good night as well.
I have been up an hour and a half and have done nothing, apart from having two mugs of tea. I’m going to have some breakfast now, then put a big duvet cover in to wash and give the upstairs a good clean.
EDIT. I missed you there Gill. I don’t think I could be bothered to colour my hair but a lot of my friends still do. Have a nice relaxing day today.

Good morning Gill and everyone. Still thick fog here no frost but the fog is most unpleasant as it makes everything damp. Should be used to it as we get a fair amount here in the Severn Valley
After a doctors appointment we are going to do the weekly shop but after that nothing on much.
At least I had a decent nights sleep, that is several in a row now, hope all the non sleepers had a better night last night.
Hope you are Okish Jane :-) <3 <3

Morning Girls and Frank,
By your posts it sound slike we all have the same weather today. Its dull here after our lovely sunny ornings and looks wet out there but I hav'nt been out yet!! I had a good sleep and oh let me lay in this morning after my shopping day. He usually does this as he knows it takes it out of me now. since they rearranged Morrisons I always have to go back to the begining of the hsop about three times at least as I just can't get used to going around the way they now have it set up. I used to be able to write my list for things I wanted as I went around the shop but now it dos'nt work anymore. I have even tried going up and down all the isles but that just makes me walk isles I don't need. It is such a big shop now they have put the big extension on. I would like to know just how many steps it is around there now.
Nothing planned for today but I do want to try the oven again.
The burns on my right hand that did'nt hsow much have started to peel like scabs and keep catching on things. I have places I did'nt even know were burnt. On the blister finger the knuckle down from the one I took a pic of is now hard and scabby and the dot on the next finger is hard and two biggish places on the back of my hand are peeling too.
Glad all those who don't sleep too well had a better night.
Thinking of Jane and hoping she dos'nt get the dizzyness again as that must be so unpleasent. Sending love and wishes. <3 <3

Afternoon All,
It's just very dull here with no frost. I slept well till 6.00am When the neighbour opposite woke me reversing his van into his drive. I wish he didn't sit there with headlights on and engine running while he does his paperwork. Gill you asked what work he does, he works for one of the water authorities and we think he is on call at night at times to mend water leaks etc.
Glad you had a reasonable night Vera and that your OH managed to get back to sleep each time he woke.
I used to have that deep cleaning done AnnG and hated it as they go right inside the gum and around the roots! My dentist called it root planing but it is the same thing as a deep clean. I don't have it anymore or ordinary cleaning by the hygienist as my teeth are too sensitive, but the dentist says he never sees teeth as clean as mine and says to keep doing what I do. He's noticed that I don't seem to get plaque and he never needs to scrape anything off. I just wish I'd looked after them better when I was young though as I don't have many back teeth left now, but intend to look after those that are left!
I just did a big pot of lamb mince 10% fat with onions, tinned tomatoes, squash, swede, carrots, courgette and celery. I shall freeze half and we had the other half with brown rice which I thought OH might not like, but he is having whatever is put in front of him as we both need to lose weight and this was one of those 2 min microwave packets, so I shall get some more now. :-)
I managed to sort out a section of wardrobe that has drawers below yesterday and there is a bag full for the charity shop now. Things were packed on the rail so tight though, there is still no room to put anything else in there. :-S I seem to have an endless supply of bras and have forgotten why I don't wear some of them so will have to have a trying on session.
Mel I have told OH that our big Sainsbury's is like walking round a small village! I'd sooner pop in the Co-op for bits and pieces now and just do the occasional big shop.

Afternoon to all you lovely people,
Yes THICK FOG and everywhere very damp. I was at the nurse this morning for bloods to be taken (FOUR FILES) I have an empty arm now. lol lol
I have been trying to order flowers on line for Sally, what a job and a half. I have given up. I will phone a florists, and order over the phone.
Glad you are home Jane and you are not feeling too bad. My love and thoughts go out to you. xxx
Gill I would think with feet that size you are in CHILDRENS shoes. I bet you have a right old job finding shoes you like
So there is quite a few of us who don't sleep to well at night. I put mine down to none activity, whereas you girls are always on the go. What are we going to do. ?? lol lol
Ros took me to the DRS. this morning, and we bumped into three people who we haven't seen for years. What a place for a catchup. !!!!
I got a tray of SHIN out of the freezer yesterday. I have got Ros to make one of her wonderful STEWS. Everything goes into it VEG wise, I expect to find the BUTCHERS DOG in it, but so far I haven't. It will last us at least two days, so no cooking tomorrow.
I wouldn't think anyone is out and about today, unless you have to. We will just sit and read/knit. The stew will simmer away all afternoon.
Keep warm, and take care if you are our in this horrible weather. xxxx

Frank you sound like tony Hancock with your empty arm :-D :-D
Shin stew sounds nice OH is cooking eggs and bacon tonight, he doesn't cook a lot but is good at that.
Size five in ladies shoes always used to be the most popular size (I take 5 as well) which is why we never have much choice in the sales.
Annx My dentist doesn't give me any choice as to whether I have it done or not but I couldn't have it without injections, even then occasionally I feel it. Unfortunately I seem to make enough tartar to warrant it. Not cheap either because of the injections, costs me around £50 a side. Our Tesco is quite big as well, I look on it as good exercise when we go.
Mel, we had the same weather here, really nasty, thick fog and then when it partly lifter drizzle. So, after the doctors we decided not to go to Tesco and do it tomorrow. So we went into the Community centre (next to the doctors surgery and had a coffee and shared a very nice traditional pasty. we then nipped home and collected a couple of bits for the tip, took them (empty, nobody there so no queue. We then, on the way home called in to Home Sense for a look round.

Iv'e just cooked my first dragons eye. Can't take it out and look at it till its cold so I hope it hasn't cracked the glass eye.
You all sound like you have had busy mornings so Frank enjoy your read and stew tonight and tomorrow and AAnnG your egg and bacon tonight. My favorite, egg and bacon. I could eat that every day and not get fed up with it.
Never made a stew with shin. Have made it with stewing steak and braising but like it best with skirt beef. There are some kinds of beef I don't like the taste of. I think it could go back to school dinners!! :-P Some were nice and some were not.
I wish it would cool down quickly as I am dying to see whats happened to it.

I take a size 3 or four in my shoes. It depends on the width for me as I have a high instep and quite a wide foot and of course the funny toe that won't go up since injuring it and destroying the cartiledge (sp).

Gosh that is a small size shoe Mel, you would be lucky in sales as there are always small sizes for sale.
Good luck with the eye, fingers crossed it hasn't cracked.
I do remember when our daughter was just eatin solid food I suppose in 1962/3 I used to slow cook shin in the oven for a long time until it had cooked right down and could be mashed with vegetables, she loved it and it tasted lovely.

Great stuff Mel. Don't forget to send us pictures.
I got all my jobs done and cooked our main meal lunchtime. I did a stir fry with chicken, various veg and noodles. I also did a few odd jobs. I found 3 hot water bottles at the back of a cupboard. I can't remember when we last used a hot water bottle so decided to test them out. Two seem absolutely fine and have gone back in the cupboard for emergencies but the other one just fell into holes when I put the hot water in, so that's in the bin. Now I'm waiting for Tesco to deliver my order. They are supposed to be coming between 5 and 6 pm.
I've remembered what's in my two large pots. It's daffodils. A friend bought me two small pots of daffs two years ago. They had lots of leaf but they never bloomed. When I had a look there were 6 bulbs crowded into each very small pot so I took them out of those pots and replanted them into the two big pots - half a dozen bulbs in each. If they don't bloom this year I'll dump them.
I stopped at this point as Tesco arrived. Now everything is spread over the work surfaces waiting to be put away.
I hope you are free of sickness and dizziness Jane and get a good night's rest.
OH is back sitting on a hard dining chair as the recliner was not helping much and he's quite grumpy today. I think it's boredom and frustration as much as pain but I've had my head snapped off a couple of times. I'll go and make him a CoT and give him a couple of choccy biscuits, perhaps that will cheer him up. Then I must get all this shopping put away.

Evening all,
Dreary day here after yesterdays nice sunshine ,we went to Aldi and Tesco and then onto Mole Valley for Max's food . When we were sat having breakfast we were watching the birds in the trees and i said to Colin it's funny how the birds don't seem to fly about when its foggy and he came back with "well no because they don't have any lights " :-D Then this afternoon we were saying about people paying for things with cards and not cash any more and he said "even old people use cards these days " i said well we're old and he said "no we're not we're just worn around the edges " :-D
Jane i hope you've had a comfortable day after the treatment and that you don't have the sickness and dizziness like last time <3 Custard Creams are Colin's favourite biscuits
Oh well done Mel i'm glad it's come out ok i bet you couldn't wait for it to cool down so you could have a look .
Ann my wardrobe is packed tight like yours ,i have a sort out and then find i put most of back ,did sort through my bras a while ago and i had some i had hardly worn so they went to the charity shop ,the ones with the wires in mostly .
Hope you've enjoyed the stew Frank ,don't think i've used shin either for a stew it's usually stewing beef or braising steak like Mel . What is Ros knitting is it still the poppies she's doing ?
Oh AnnG i should think you would need injections to have them work on your teeth if they need to go digging down into the gum , i should think you have a sore mouth for a while after .
Vera it's funny you mentioning about hot water bottles ,i was only thinking the other day i really should look at the hot water bottle i have in the cupboard as i haven't used it for a few years , that could have been a bit dangerous pouring hot water into the bottle and it going into holes ,it's usually the stopper that leaks the rubber just perishes . I bet you've been racking your brain all day with what you had planted in the pots i know i would have :-D so annoying when you carn't remember . Oh poor OH back to the hard dining chair , i hope he soon feels better .

Ah I expect you ended up on the eggshell path after your head was snapped off Vera. :-) I think I get irritated and a bit snappy when I have a bad back. I expect the dining chair gives more support and would be easier to get out of too. We have 2 hot water bottles and use them mostly on our aches and pains!! We had to chuck one out and got another when OH collected his glasses from Boots recently as I had just read that you shouldn't keep them more that 2 years. OH got his foot burnt as a child when his mum used an old hot water bottle and it ripped open.
Ha ha Mandy! He's on the ball today isn't he and I like the idea of just being worn around the edges! lol. I just wondered where the birds would stick a fog light! We always wonder where they all go at night in the winter, when they would show up if they were on the bare trees.
Well done Mel! Let's hope you have cracked it......oh no I shouldn't say that!!

Mandy no way could I have that done without injections.
Well tonight we had eggs and bacon cooked by OH and chips in the air fryer and they were absolutely lovely, much nicer than in the oven and they were oven chips too but they really crisped up. Most impressed.

They sound very nice AnnG and I have a hankering for bacon egg and chips now with a squirt of tomato ketchup!! :-D I seem to remember having numbing gel put on my gums years ago for ordinary cleaning and small injections for the deep clean. It must have been when my old dentist went private. Once I retired I went to an NHS dentist in the village here instead of travelling into the city one.
OH was doing 'hunt the bin' earlier, as someone else had taken it off the front where the bin men leave it. It was our nextdoor neighbour who has a much bigger bin than us so you'd think he would notice wouldn't you or notice our house number in big letters on the side. Typical, he'd thrown some rubbish in it already which is a bit annoying as we use any unrecycleable polythene bags to put our messy rubbish in to keep our bin clean.
Custard creams are hubby's favourite biscuit as well Mandy. :-)
OH got a migraine just as he got to his meeting tonight, but had migraine tablets with him which was lucky. It is visual disturbance he gets these days rather than headaches so I hope he could see properly to do his notes. It should be gone in time for him to drive home. It would be the furthest away where he has gone with a 17 mile trip each way.

O pooor G ann. Not the best thing to have when you have notes to read. Hope it goes quickly with the tablets.
I like the worn around the edges Mandy and both comments made me laugh.
AnnG I always think the worse part of shopping is the putting away too. There never seems to be any room in my cupboards and I only buy replacements for things I have used. I always buy two washing up liquids as oh washes his hands with it and if he is doing outside things on the mowers he washes his hands a lot and uses tons when he washes up for me. I think he fills the bowl about three times for different things. Yes I am pleased with the eye but the only thing is the actual eye I painted has changed colour in the cooking. I shall have to try one only painted with acrylic paint and not put nail varnish on them. I did take a pic before and after and will send them on. I have to paint it yet as it is only in white clay as oh bought me a big block of that to practise with.
No Gill I hope she is ok today after her day off yesterday.
