Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Dec 2019 18:40

Gosh you talking about potatoes I had'nt looked to see if I had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've all had a busy day today.

Glad you understood the film of Cats more than the show Anng.

Oh Mel and after you offering to take her to get her prescription as well. Sometimes you just can't win, but I bet she enjoyed your chat so that's good. I think we are doing without a table decoration this year as I forgot all about making one. If it's dry in the morning I might go and get some of those yellow pansies that are still flowering and put them with a sprig of the variegated Holly. Jane's cottage does look nice and cosy doesn't it.

AnnG that's a good job to get out of the way. I had read some bad reports of Cats too, but quite often we find we like films that the critics don't.

O have you noticed we did'nt get the baubles on the logo this year?

Annx Report 25 Dec 2019 11:44

<3 <3 HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL <3 <3

There's a thread about the missing baubles Mel. I thought when GR saw it they would put them on but no!

OH has bought me 2 cracking books. One is about the lives of all the women that Jack the Ripper murdered and the other is The Invisible Woman and is about how women are disadvantaged in all kinds of subtle ways compared with men.

The Turkey is smelling so good in the kitchen and the roasties are crisping up nicely. :-) :-)

I took some photos of the lit up trees in the village with the stream running through last night. OH came with me and as we were getting back in the car Santa and his reindeer were being driven through the village. I had to laugh as OH said I could go and sit on his knee so I told him when I got home that Santa had been given a community award a couple of years ago and that he was my first boyfriend and had been doing this every year since he was a teenager!!! Not sure if he just drives the vehicle that tows Santa and his sleigh now, but it is still a red pickup truck that he uses.

Happy Christmas everyone. Had a lovely morning opening lots of lovely presents it was peaceful until we had almost finished lunch then noise erupted as Inara arrived totally hyper. :-) <3 we have our meal this evening so had cheese and nibbles etc for lunch plus plenty of bubbly

Annx Report 25 Dec 2019 14:10

What time was Inara awake AnnG? She sounds like a little whirlwind. lol :-D OH has just sat down after washing up and wiping down and we are both full after our meal. I thought the Turkey wasn't going to be ready on time but it was. I have dug out my Thomas Kincade snowy jigsaw to make a start on while we watch the Queen's speech and flop!

Afternoon all

<3 <3 <3 MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE <3 <3 <3 Hope Santa was kind to you all.

We've just finished eating, Sandra has finally moved on from the Magic Pad we bought her to something else now. She's been happily drawing and lighting up the pictures, having great fun with it.

We starting opening our presents at 7.30am and didn't finish until 10.30, then rang around the family to wish them all a Merry Christmas, had our lunch and now we're sitting down before all the programmes start which will take us up to bed time.

MESSAGE FROM SANDRA

Merry Christmas, thank you for all the lovely Christmas presents, I love them all so much. I love the pink wreath you made me Ann, I have put it up in my bedroom. I got lots of pink things off everyone and lots of Flamingos off Mel. Mum is going to buy me a cushion for the Flamingo cushion cover Mel so I can put it on my bed. Thank you for the watch, I love it and wanted a watch, I've never seen one with a Flamingo on it before, it's great.
I love the pink fluffy note book and all the stickers I got off everyone, i got loads so I can use them for my cards now as I was running out. Thank you everyone, you are all so kind. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

As you can see she is thrilled with everything you've all sent her.

We might have to take Sandra to the hospital, but she is refusing to go today, so I'm hoping she'll let us take her tomorrow. She had an operation on her knee years ago but for some reason she is in a lot of pain with it today. She said she didn't sleep last night as it was very painful and although we've tried a bandage on it today it didn't help and she's still in pain. It's not just her knee, it's her hip and the bottom of her shin to, so I'm hoping her knee hasn't slipped out somehow, as that's why she had to have the op in the first place. She's been sitting on the sofa with her legs up with a hot water bottle and painkillers, but she's determined not to go to the hospital on Christmas Day. I'd feel cruel if I insisted on her going, so we're making sure she rests it today and will take her to A&E in the morning if she's no better. It's such a shame as she's been so looking forward to Christmas as well.

Annx Report 25 Dec 2019 17:41

Please thank Sandra for her message Gill and tell her I am so pleased that she liked the wreath. I thought it was something that would be pretty and decorative to look at in her bedroom and soon she will have Mel's Flamingo cover on a cushion to go in her bedroom too......lots of her favourite PINK! She's had some lovely gifts from everyone hasn't she and the Magic Pad was a good idea wasn't it. ;-) What a shame she's been in pain with her knee though and that you will likely be at A&E tomorrow. Maybe it will settle though if she's twisted it somehow. It must be painful though to keep her awake all night.

Sounds like you and Max will be needing your feet up later Mandy. Nice to see the children so happy and excited though. I can just imagine Lacey trying all those outfits on her doll. :-)

I've come in here for a break as OH is watching the Muppets which I soon tire of now, although I liked them years ago. Looking forward to Call The Midwife later. :-)

Gillx Report 25 Dec 2019 17:43

OH has just taken Sandra to the hospital, she started crying and when we said she needed to go to hospital she didn't object, so she must be in a lot of pain. I hope it's nothing serious. I'm quite worried about her.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Dec 2019 18:25

O gosh Gill I hope she is ok. glad she liked all her flamingo pressies. Did she like the travel colouring book?

Gillx

Gillx Report 25 Dec 2019 19:12

Yes Mel, she loved all her presents. I've just gave up one of my cushions for her Flamingo Cushion cover you gave her and it's now on her bed for when she gets back from the hospital. I've also put all her Christmas presents into a few boxes for her as they were all over her floor and bed. I doubt she would of liked to have cleared it all away later, especially if she is late back and in pain, then I cleared the cloth and place mats off the dining table, I didn't realise I'd forgotten to do it earlier, so everything is tidy now and I'm watching Emmerdale. I'm recording everything Sandra wanted to watch so she can watch it later or tomorrow.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Gill can you let us know when she's back home please and if she is ok?

Annx

Annx Report 25 Dec 2019 21:48

Oh poor Sandra. Give her our best wishes and love Gill and I hope they can sort out what the problem is for her quickly and that she is soon home again to enjoy her pressies. <3 <3 xx

Gillx

Gillx Report 25 Dec 2019 22:04

Sandra's home now, she has sprained her knee, but doesn't know how she's done it. The doctor gave her stronger painkillers so hopefully that'll help and she'll sleep better tonight. Sandra says thank you for your get well wishes.

She loves her Flamingo cushion I put on her bed Mel and she was happy I cleared her room. So it's all ready for when she goes to bed now. She is catching up with the soaps I recorded and will watch the end of Strictly when Eastenders has finished.

We bought her a jewellery box that you add jewels to, so she's busy doing that at the moment and seems a lot calmer now. I think she was a bit scared of being in pain for so long and not knowing what the problem was. It'll take about six weeks to heal and we have to keep an eye on her incase it turns into sepsis which is a bit of a worry, but the doctor said there's only a slim chance of that happening. She had to have a screw put in her knee years ago and sometimes that can lead to problems later in life.

Anyway she's okay at the moment and the pain should ease soon now she's on the stronger painkiller and like I said she's a lot calmer which is helping her. She's just had something to eat and spoke to the out of hours nurse as they rang her, apparently there was a mix up at the hospital and they were calling her to see the doctor in the out of hours department when she'd already seen one and was at home.......talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. At least they know now and have corrected their records, but they were wondering why she wasn't there when they were calling her name.......silly people.

I'll catch up with all the posts tomorrow, I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas Day. <3 <3
