Love the pic of the moon AnnG, thank you for sending it, it's just the type of thing OH and I love. I didn't realise it was travelling around, I hope it ends up somewhere near us as I'd love to see it. Was it held up with wires? It looked very big compared to the people below it and to see it lit up must of been wonderful. I do envy you.
What a bargain with your boots, that was a nice surprise. I have a couple of pairs of footwear that are a bit to big so wear two pair of socks to keep them from slipping off, they keep my feet warmer in the winter to. I do need to buy myself a pair of flat ankle boots ready for the winter, I've got a lovely pair with a small heel but they are swade and would probably be ruined in wet weather, so I'd like another more waterproof pair.

I guess the bad weather I thought I'd heard on the TV this morning for your area Mel has arrived. Be careful it sounds quite nasty to be out in. Hope your girls are okay in their house.

It looks like you have the rain we had this morning AnnG. I was thinking the same thing about leaving the leaves for a day or two then pick them all up at once as they are down the garden. It would be different if they were where we walk as like you said they become slippy and dangerous.

I'm still plodding through OH's tree, I'm finding all sorts today. I have so much information it's quite overwhelming. I'm just taking it a bit at a time so I don't make any mistakes and hopefully will have everyone in place by bed time. The F1 is on late this weekend so we're not sure if we'll stay up to watch it or record it for the next day. We'll see how tired we are later.

Lots of fireworks going off here, I hope it doesn't trigger another migraine like they did last night. It was very noisy. Thankfully the ones I can hear now sound a bit further away.

I hope Jane managed some sleep last night. Thinking of you Jane <3 <3 Hope Sandra's card arrived okay and made you smile. <3

still not done anything. I just can't seem to get motivated today.

AnnG did you see my necklace?

Jane

Jane Report 2 Nov 2019 18:52

Thank you everyone for thinking of me.It doesnt seem real at the moment. But I know it will hit us next week after all the various people have a meeting to discuss the findings of the scan and biopsies and I will then know what will happen. Chris thinks the most likely first course will be Chemo.I am trying not to think of that though right now. Hannah is coming home tomorrow and will probably stay for a few days.

Gill, how lovely of Sandra to make me a card :-D. It hasn't arrived yet.We had no post today .It could be because our road is closed again for the weekend. But I expect it will be here on Monday.I am looking forward to it :-D

What wonderful pics of the Moon in the Cathedral AnnG !!!!!. I would love to see that. I did see it on the news some time ago when it was in another place.

i have come to bed now as I feel a bit wishy washy and light headed.Thomas is being awkward and not coming in even though I can hear plenty of fireworks. I think it is raining so hopefully that will get him in soon.

Vera I hope you are enjoying time with the family and the production of Tommy :-D

AnninGlos Report 2 Nov 2019 20:09

Gill yes it was held by wires. And yes very impressive.

Mel, sorry yes I saw the necklace, very effective.

Jane I wouldn’t try to second guess the treatment although Chris is well p,
Laced to have some idea. You can’t really know until the scan results and we are all hoping for the best results for you. Enjoy your time with Hannah. And Thomas is obviously wanting attention and not bothered by the fireworks. Try. And have a good nights sleep.

Evening All,

Lots of rain when I went out this morning but no rain under the railway bridge this time so I arrived very early for the beading workshop. The pattern was quite hard to follow so Jenny was coming round helping us to get the hang of each bit. I think I have done about 8 inches of mine so a long way to go yet. If we get stuck we are encouraged to ring and go back to be put on the right lines again, so that is good. She is looking to do a workshop on something called 'stumpwork' which I had never heard of before. A sort of 3d effect embroidery and the picture example she showed us looked like very fine needlework to me.....probably too fine.

Good news when I got back, a letter to say my mammogram is clear. After being called back for a biopsy last time I didn't feel confident about the result this time, so it's nice to have got that out of the way for another 3 years.. :-)

We had the moon exhibition at the cathedral here a few months ago AnnG and the local papers were full of pictures. I would like to have seen it, but with Richard 111's coffin there and all those visitors too it would have been impossible to park close by. It's good you got to see it as everyone has been impressed by it. You did well with the reduction on your ankle boots. I have some Footglove shoes, they are comfy as you say and seem to last well.

Mel I love your Ivy necklace. Did you use wire and wrap it in green? I like Pinterest for inspiration too and I bet you are like me and try to improve on what you see! :-) What a good idea to paint the eyes you have for the Owl.

Oh dear Frank, I hope you have managed to keep awake today and so will sleep better tonight. I was still awake at 2.00am and like Mel says I haven't caught up with the clocks changing yet either. It puts me out with my tablet times.!

Gill I think it is lovely of you to buy your OH's friend a Christmas present. We should all do little acts of kindness, even a smile, as you never know someone's circumstances and how these gestures might make all the difference. :-) That prog sounds like it is up my street, so please let me know when you see it will be on. :-)

I was thinking this morning that my dad would have been 99 today if he was still alive and so it was possible he could have had another 41 years!

I just read that in 2018 nearly 20,000 people were convicted in the courts of drug driving! They say that is the tip of the iceberg. Two hundred were 17 year olds who had just passed their test and over 40 were 15-16 year olds who were behind the wheel. Six lost their licences through causing death while under the influence of substances like cannabis or cocaine. Seventy eight were over the age of 60 and the worst offenders were men, 18,175 prosecutions, compared with 1,440 women.

Didn't see you there Jane as OH came home and I didn't post till after he'd had a natter. I bet it doesn't seem real as you say and is a lot to take in. At least once you know what's decided next week, there will be a course of action and treatment. In the meantime try to just enjoy your time with Hannah. <3 <3

Gillx Report 3 Nov 2019 09:45

Morning all

Damp here today but the sun is trying it's best to come out.

Hannah coming home will be a comfort to you Jane, you may not need Chemo, but if you do just keep thinking it's helping you. You have your family for support and there's always us here for a chat. I'll let Sandra know you are looking forward to her card and send on your message to her. She'll be pleased to know you are looking forward to it. She's very thoughtful and as soon as she new you weren't well, she went straight to her room and started making the card.

I thought I saw some wires holding the moon up AnnG, but wasn't sure. It looks very detailed. I think I saw something about it on the news a while back and think they said it was a replica of the real moon with all it's craters etc... Your photo's were brilliant, I wouldn't of guessed they were taken on your phone.

We started buying OH's friend presents for Christmas just after his partner passed away Ann, OH was chatting with him and that's when he told him he didn't have any family of his own. His birthday's in January so we started buying him a birthday present to, although he wouldn't tell us the date of his birthday so we give it to him at the same time as his Christmas present. I think it's nice to have something to open on Christmas's and birthdays, I can't imagine what it would feel like to have nothing every year and it's nice to see a smile on his face. He's been very good to OH over the years and helped us sort out Sandra's lights for her garden when we were having trouble finding them, he's so kind.
I couldn't believe how many drug driving convictions there were, it makes you think doesn't it?

I did really well on OH's tree yesterday, finding all sorts for his American rellies, even finding images of birth and marriage records, so they're all on his tree now. I'm hoping to finish the American ones today, so hope I'm as lucky as yesterday in finding the records I need again. I've worked so hard on his tree this year, I hope I manage to finish it for him before I have to stop for Christmas.

Going to have a cuppa, then watch the F1 qualifying from last night, we started watching it in bed but both of us fell asleep before the end. Luckily I recorded it, so we can watch it now. Then I'll go back to OH's tree while Sandra watches her Christmas films. Christmas 24 started on Sky again this month so she has plenty to choose from once we've finished watching the ones I recorded off channel 5. She loves her Christmas films and looks forward to them every year.

Morning all,

WE HAVE SUNSHINE and I'm feeling good dah dum dah dum dah dum.

It makes such a change to have some bright weather but how long it will last I don't know.

It will do you good to have Hannah home for a few days Jane and am sending love to you.

Oh has just informed me that the pump on his big pond is not working. He is going to rewire it to see if its just the switch if not then its MORE EXPENSE as Frank would say. I am going to post this incase the leccy goes out.

It was gloomy earlier but the sun is shining now. We have been to Dobbies garden centre for coffee and of course managed to fill a basket with lots of things we didn't know we needed. Some of which are Christmas presents.

Annx pleased for you that your mammogram was clear.

Mel, hope the pump can be fixed, they are not cheap are they.

Gill, well done on making good progress with OH's tree.

Good afternoon all,

I won't stay long as I feel completely "KNACKERED" I started to watch "ENDEAVOUR_ on the Tele, and came over very tiered, so went to bed. I was asleep before 10.30 pm and SLEPT RIGHT THROUGH UNTIL 7.50 this morning,

We, like most of you had continuous rain yesterday. Last night there were Fireworks going off, so some were celebrating even in th bad weather. On local radio this morning, they were giving out locations for firework displays around the County. I hope the weather stays fair, as I know from experience the hard work that goes into these displays.

How are you this morning Jane ??? have been thinking of you, and sending my love. xxx How nice that Hannah can spare the time to come to stay a few days. I'm sure it will be a great comfort to you.

Ros has tried out the new DYSON this morning It's a V 6 Animal, It almost pulls the carpet from the floor, so very powerful. The dust box was full before she got round the lounge, so it shows, whats in the carpet.Considering she hoovers through most days, I was surprised by the amount she got up.

Roast beef, with loads of veg and yorkshires. So we won't be going hungry ;-) ;-) ;-)

I trust you are all well, and hope you enjoy your afternoon, whatever you might be doing. xxxx

Afternoon all

We are still in Yorkshire. It was a late breakfast followed by a long walk with the dog. Now dil is doing dinner for about 4.30 and we’ll leave by 5.30. With a bit of luck the roads will be pretty clear and, if we don’t stop, we could drop granddaughter off in Cambridge about 9 and be home soon after 10.

The show last night was very good. This particular group of youngsters are very professional. Granddaughter was great. She does have a cracking voice and coped brilliantly with 11 changes of costume. Sometimes she only had about 30 seconds to get off, change her outfit and get back on stage. It is quite a strange story and wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste.

Frank, I am glad you had a better night. Keep resting those eyes.

It will be good to see Hannah, Jane. I am sure she will be a help and support for you. Just take one day at a time and come on here and unburden yourself whenever you need. We’re all here for you <3

Must go as I have just been called for a pre dinner drink. OH will be driving so will probably have one small drink.

Safe journey home Vera.

It turned cloudy late morning and is now raining AGAIN. When willit ever stop and the winds up a bit now too. This time it seems to be coming from the east.

Have finished a witch ball this morning and am going to do some more things after I have washed up as I have been playing cards on the pc.

Glad you had a better night last night Frank. You should feel more alive this mroning not knackered. :-0 I suppose the eye is still the same and won't be better till they do something to it to clear it out. Not long to wait now though.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Nov 2019 16:47

Frank I was going to say the same as Mel, you should have felt better if you'd had a good sleep. It sounds as if your body is lacking something. I don't remember if you have had a recent bllod test, if so what about iron levels? Maybe you need some vitamin tablets or something. How about trying an occasional Mackeson.stout? That is supposed to build you up.

Vera, safe journey home. Glad you enjoyed the performance last night.

Gill I meant to say that the moon was made and mapped in conjunction with NASA.

Mel, not much craft done if you were playing cards on the computer then. Never mind a change is as good as a rest. I have made two birthday cards this afternoon, Christmas is all done!! Roast chicken tonight with roast pots, cauliflower, broccoli, roast carrots, courgette and roast red pepper.

Annx Report 3 Nov 2019 16:53

Afternoon All,

We have had patchy sunshine but no rain as yet. It did get windy last night though.

I hope your OH can mend the pump Mel. He is good at doing things like that, so if it can be mended he is sure to fix it. :-) Otherwise it's MORE EXPENSE as you say or as Frank would say. I look forward to seeing your witch's ball! you make some interesting things.

Gill I see you are doing well on your tree again! I bet Sandra is loving it now with Christmas films to see and her PINK lights as well!

We ate at home today, Barnsley lamb chops, slow cooked, just with cabbage, swede, carrots and some mash for OH. It was a last minute decision, so I used up what veg we had. We watched a recorded episode of Open All Hours Again while we ate and I do love Mr Newbold and Delphine! OH gave the bath a good clean this morning and found room to put the garden chairs in the garage. I cut his hair and this afternoon he watched footie on the telly while I went out and took some autumn tree photos. Hello Kitty was in extra friendly mode and came up our drive miaowing away, so I expect his owners were out! Then after a few chin rubs and ear tickles he decided to sit right behind my car where I would be driving out. OH had to come and lure him away till I'd gone.

It must have been great to see and hear your grandaughter sing Vera. My word she did well to get through all those costume changes!

AnnG I think Garden Centres are so diverse now in what they sell, there will always be something to buy that we don't need! lol. :-)

Hurrah! A good night's sleep at last Frank! I bet you feel so much better for it, :-) That eye must be a nuisance, but not much longer to wait now,

Evening all,

It hasn't been a bad day here today we even saw some sun shine ,i have now got all the Begonia's out of the wall boxes ,just got two more to take out of the hanging baskets and two Geraniums to bring in .

Jane that's nice that Hannah is home with you for a few days just it's what you need having the family there <3

Mel that Ivy necklace is really unusual and will look really good on , looking forward to seeing this witch's ball i've no idea what it is going to look like
I was thinking the other day about things for your stall and wondered if you could decorate some pencils like the wands you made ,they would be nice little pocket money buys for the children ,i'm sure they would sell well.

Oh AnnG that moon must have been a sight to see ,it looked huge didn't it and you could even see all the craters on it too ,it must look a picture all lit up in the dark .
I see you are still buying lots you don't need :-D
What a bargain on the boots ,it's a nice surprise when that happens .

That was a good night for you last night then Frank lets hope you can do it again tonight ,glad your pleased with the new Dyson ,some of them are quite pricey ,i saw one advertised at nearly five hundred pounds !!! i don't think i'd ever pay that much for a hoover .

Ann it sounds as if that new lot of beading is a bit tricky to do but you've done well to get eight inches done .
I shall have to have a google for this Stumpwork i've never heard of it ,it will be interesting to see what it is like .
It was a good job OH was there to move kitty on ,they do seem to lay down in the most unusual places some of them ,if you had gone over him you'd never forgive yourself .

I see Sandra is still in the pink mode !! :-D
Give your self plenty of breaks from doing the tree Gill you don't another bad head .

Safe journey home Vera it sounds like you have had a nice weekend with the family .
Looking forward to The Chateau tonight ,also next week there's a new lot of Our Yorkshire Farm it's on Tuesday channel 5 eight o'clock .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Nov 2019 21:58

I like Our Yorkshire Farm too Mandy and the Chateau program. I hav'nt watched them all yet.

Thanks for the idea of the wand pencils but I have already done 5 and have another 5 to do with rubbers on the end and they are not wooden pencils. I will send a pic when I have taken one. Also the witch ball. Its a thing to protect the house and family and you should hang them in an east window. My glass one is in the north facing window of the kitchen. These I am making are plastic balls filled with cinnamon sticks, sage, lavender, rose petals and yarrow, bay leaves and sprigs of lavender etc.

Stump work is raised embrodery. Its very interesting and nice to do but takes a long while. We started some of it at school and I really enjoyed it.

Good morning all. fairly bright here so far. Looks cold though. OH gone to golf I have the bedding in the washing machine. Not a good nights sleep for me, too much veg with the roast I think my stomach was very tender all night. I slept in one to two hour sessions.

Not sure what I am doing today, bit of Hwork, a bit of book keeping and a bit of sorting C cards and presents I suspect.

Colin is going to put some emulsion round the walls in the airing cupboard to freshen that up so I have cleared that out this morning .
Washer has just finished so I'd better get them out and the next lot in .

Jane, nice to spend time with Hannah We were looking at mattresses in Next the other day, nice but maybe a bit more expensive than some. That is going to have to wait until after Christmas.

Well done Hannah if she is managing to get you to eat little and often. Not too much so that you suffer discomfort but I feel you should try and build up your strength a little now. Hope you find the slippers you need I took ages to find some for me and ended up getting them in a garden centre!!
