Thanks Jane, trouble is anyone with a good camera is able to take good photos these days. I did win a newspaper competition once years ago can’t even remember what the photo was of.

Evening All,

Not a bad day weatherwise so I bought some plants I had been waiting for to come in the garden centre and got those planted. OH is planting the rest of the Snapdragons tomorrow while I'm at beading. We are at the big cat house tomorrow and have bought a bird table to thank the friend who usually has us for beading. It is her birthday on Saturday and her nubby had a heart attack just before we went to Cornwall so it will be a nice surprise for her.

Some nice pics there AnnG. I see you like getting closeups of the middles of flowers too. It's surprising what you can see with the camera that you miss with the naked eye.

Our neighbour who put the posts across his front has started lifting the blocks up from his drive now. I suspect they have sunk a bit and are holding puddles.

Frank we have had a lot of banging early in the morning the past 2 days as a new drive is being laid up the road and they have been compacting the rubble ready to lay it. These things always seem to happen after you've had a restless night ! lol It's good Conrad has rigged things up so the pups have more room to run and play and even better that mum can have a bit of peace when she needs it. You are certainly getting plenty of seafood. Are you sure those bumps on your head aren't 'FINS' growing!! :-D

I've been waiting a few days for our house insurance renewal to come and it came today. It has gone up by a third so I shall definitely be looking on the comparison sites for something cheaper.

Those of you on FB can see addresses on my page where to send used bras and little used makeup. The bras go to African women at risk of rape. The risk is significantly less f they wear bras, as wearing a bra is considered a sign of wealth.

Not long got in, we took Sandra out shopping so she could treat herself with her birthday money, she's had a brilliant day, but I think we'll all be having an early night with all the walking we've done today.

I'll catch up with the posts tomorrow. Just watching 63UP then I'll be off to bed, I'm absolutely shattered.

Annx loved your photos. Yes I enjoy macro photography which is why I take a lot of photos of flower head. I use a lot of my photos on my cards I make so often take the flowers with that in mind.

I am sure your friend will love the bird table, what a lovely thought.

Gill hope Sandra got everything she wanted and she obviously enjoyed her day.

Frank

Frank Report 7 Jun 2019 08:46

Good morning all,

Another morning of banging and thumping. The noise yesterday was the roof being put on. They fill in the roof space, then lay on mixed concrete. and spread it out. Thats why I assume most villa have FLAT ROOFS.

The girls went out after lunch to the shopping complex, where Ros bought more BRA'S She tried them on when she got home, and they fit perfectly.

Conrad came home around 7.00 pm. and I was on my own, the little buggers were still out. Then came a phone call, asking if we would like to join them there, as there is a very nice Argentinian Restaurant that carves the meats of every kind on to your plates as you sit at the tables. On top of that the bring dishes of Salad, Rice, chips and anaolie (sp) Garlic dip. It's just like a conveyor belt, one leaves your table and another appears.

Conrad needed to fill up his car, and get it washed ,so we did that on the way home. It was after 10.00 pm again, and I soon rolled into bed with my book. I was still awake when Ros came in at Midnight. Again a hit and miss nights sleep, I expect not being active during the day isn't good for me.

I have tried opening the photo's, but it's taking ages and ages and still nothing comes up. I will try again when I come off here.

I hope those who have been feeling poorly, are felling a lot better now. I see there has been a lot of rain across Country. while here it is still as dry as can be.

The pubs had Jan up at 5.30 this morning play fighting. She transferred them outside where they are now sleeping after attacking my feet when I climbed in to see them. They are so full of themselves now, but after a run around and a play they crash out and sleep.

Conrad has just gone to work. He has an open day today, promoting a new phase of villa's. The agents from all over Europe, who have offices in their own Country and promote the builds and live in Spain, will all be there, together with potential customers. They have a firm of Caterers coming to supply food etc, for the day. He expects to be very busy, and will nor get a break until they close up tonight. We will get a BBQ and salad ready for when he gets home, then he can get into his shorts and relax for what's left of the evening.

No plans for today, I have had my three COT and will have a bit of toast later, then sit in these with my book. Oh what a hard life, I HAVE. Stay well and enjoy your day xxx

Gillx Report 7 Jun 2019 10:48

Morning Frank, morning all

Cloudy here and it's forecast for rain around midday, so OH is cutting the lawns. We've done some more weeding and I've watered the plants in the greenhouse, so that's our bit of gardening done for today. We've decided to just do a few bits each day rather than everything in one go as it's to much for us, especially if it's gets to hot, plus it's more enjoyable doing small amounts then we sit outside enjoying the sun.....when we get it ;-)

I love all the photo's of the flowers Ann and AnnG. You both have lovely plants, the rain got to some of ours the other day so they're not looking their best now :-(. I think with our garden being so open we need some stronger plants so they can withstand the rain and wind. OH took the two Euphorbia's out yesterday before we went out, so we need to buy two large shrubs to fill the holes now. I think I might have a look online for some ideas.

I noticed last night that the new neighbour has had his gate attached to our fence and he's also laid a pile of pallets up again our fence, so I hope it takes all the weight and doesn't fall down. We're not sure what's going to happen to his gate once the wind gets to it, we don't think the wood they've attached it to will hold it in place as it's very rotten, so we think the screws will just come out of the wood leaving his gate and fence to wobble around, time will tell I suppose. So long as our fence doesn't fall down, it won't be our problem. They still haven't had the gates done across the front of the drive yet so all you can see is two 5 foot tall chunks of wood which look really silly. The neighbour on the other side doesn't like them either as they tower above the hedge and other fences in the area. As far as we know he's not having a new fence put between the two gates so once the tall gates go up at the front they are going to look out of place. OH's wondering if he'll be able to see past them when he needs to get the car out of the drive, he thinks it'll block his view of the road, making it dangerous for him to pull out onto the road safely.

Yes AnnG, Sandra had a great time out and we treated her to a McDonald's which she loved. She got everything she wanted, apart from a few extra's she saw while we were walking around, but by then she's run out of money so OH and I have bought them for her and put them away for Christmas, I've almost finished buying Christmas presents for Sandra now as there were a lot of things she fancied. I also found a few bits for OH, so I'm well on my way to having Christmas finished for them both and we've still got six months to go :-D :-D ;-) I'd already bought a few things for OH, so with what I bought yesterday he has a fair few things. I'll just have to remember where I put it all and don't forget what I've bought, or I might end up buying to much for them, not that they'll complain lol :-)

It sounds like Conrad is going to be very busy today Frank, he'll be glad to be home and relax. At least you have nice weather for the BBQ. Hope the noise has gone by then. The pups sound like they like their little area to run around in and now you all know they're safe, so no more puppies falling in the swimming pool.

Has the new drive been finished in your street yet Ann, you have my sympathy we were always being woken up early with the workmen next door and it's no joke is it, especially if like you said you didn't have a good nights sleep the night before. I hope you had a better night last night. How is your OH, is his tum better now?

Not long now before the children can have a swim in your pool Mandy, I hope the weather is nice and not forecast for heavy rain like it's going to be here over the weekend. It feels more like April lately with all the sunshine and showers. We were lucky yesterday, the sun was out all day and it was nice and warm. There were two light showers but they only lasted a few seconds and both times we were in the car going from one area to another, so it didn't bother us.

I watched a bit of the D-Day Remembrance Jane and like you, had the tissues out. I've recorded it so will watch some more later, we were to tired to watch it all last night.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Jun 2019 12:45

Afternoon al,

Did'nt sleep well last night. Was still awake at 3. 35 am when oh got up for the loo and then lay for a while before I dropped off. I had been up at 3am for the loo and oh was still snoring then. I was not comfortable with my funny leg and I think that may have been the problem. Anyway woke at 8am and thought I would lay a bit longer. Oh got up and then I awoke at 12noon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so here I am not done a thing and its raining.........

I have to go to Holsworthy this afternoon for chicken food and a few bits so I hope it stops raining by then.

Ann's photos were lovely as usual and so clear.

Do you remember I told you when oh put the hot tub up the Blackbird was trying to build a nest in the Clematis on the end of his filter shed and he told me he had put paid to that putting the pool up? Well he was wrong because I went down there to take a dead head off the rose bush and looked down to see two big black eyes looking at me. Yes the female was sitting on the nest which I think has been built on top of the old wrens nest that was in there last year. We never took it out so thye have built the new nest on top of that. I have got a pic and will send them out later.

I had my tablet on the table last night while watching for the hedgehog, (who did'nt come ) and there was a big flash across the screen and an owl landed on the post which holds the wire for the net over oh's pond in the autumn. Tried to get a pic of that but they are nto very clear.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Jun 2019 13:20

Mel, how lovely to see the owl.

Frank I am pretty sure we went to a restaurant like that Argentinian one once in Tenerife. Sometimes too much food and activity puts you off eating. I think you are probably not sleeping because you are sitting around all day so your body is not tired.

Gill, wow! I can't even think about Christmas yet. I don't really buy presents (maybe just a few little bits if I see them) until about September.

Our garden is getting a good watering, it has been a steady downpour (although not too hard) since before 0900 this morning.

Can't say we don't know how to live, this morning we did the tesco shop followed by a visit to B&Q :-D :-D :-D

I was surprised in Tesco, although they still have polythene bags on the veg department (in the store we were in), they are not giving bags to cover chicken any more. (Or so I was told).

Frank

Frank Report 7 Jun 2019 13:40

Well you certainly caught up with your sleep Mel, I hope the rain stopped to allow you to go and do the things you had too, without getting wet. ANYWAY WHAT IS RAIN ?? LOL LOL.

I have been trying to Google Luton Airport. We need to let Harvey know where to pick us up. We believe there is a designated Dis-Abled picking up point, but don't where it is. I will have to get in touch with Harvey, for him to ring them, to find out, then we can direct the wheelchair assistance, to where he will be. I will keep trying this end, and perhaps if I can't Conrad might be able to.

Ros has just gone for a shower and hair wash. She has been sitting out, and is very uncomfortable with the sweat running into her eyes. I think the girls will then pop to the local Super Market for Salad items for tonight, and pick me up some more BEER

I did't bring my Camera with me this year, not that we have been anywhere that I would have wanted to take photo's.

The pups have been play fighting to the point that we have had to remove the white male for his own protection. The girls are giving him a right going over. BULLY'S !!

Yes those D DAY ceremonies were very touching, I know I had a job keeping from shedding a few tears.

I have heard from my Nephew Paul, to say Mary my sister, had a fair bit to eat yesterday, and a lot of sleep. Apart from that there is no real change. I will, of course stay in touch, for any changes there might be. His wife has booked a week away for them. His eldest daughter is taking the week off, to look in, also two of his friends will be calling in each day. His brother has also booked 5 days away, starting next Wednesday. So I just hope everything is alright while they are both away. I don't know where either of them are going, so just keep fingers crossed they are not needed.

Still very warm here, and I am quite content, to sit inside reading my book. When the sun drops a bit I might go outside for a while. I bet Conrad will be glad to get home, and out of long trousers, and into the shower, then his shorts.

If I don't get back again today, have a nice afternoon and evening, and I will see you tomorrow. xxxx

SuffolkVera Report 7 Jun 2019 18:02

Lovely to see the owl Mel. That was a good sleep you eventually had, you must have needed it but I am jealous. I wish I could do that. Most nights I settle down sometime between 11 and midnight and sleep for up to 2 hours, then I am awake till about 5 am when I doze off for another couple of hours. I did have quite a good night last night. In bed from midnight till 7 am, woke a few times but went back to sleep quickly.

I hope it’s going to be warm enough for the children to use your pool Mandy. Today has been really wet and cold here. I think when I’ve finished this post I’ll go and have a hot bath to try and warm up a bit.

Lovely photos from the two Anns. The flowers are beautiful. OH has at last put some photos of the rhododendrons and azaleas at Stody Lodge on the computer so I’ll send a couple round. They are not quite up to your standard though.

Gill, Christmas!!! You are very well organised. I don’t think about Christmas till after 1st December.

I’ve been trying to think about what we need for our holiday. So far all I’ve done is put together a pack of all the tablets and medical supplies we have to have and that will take up half a suitcase I reckon. Tomorrow I must make a decision about what clothes we are going to take in case any need washing and ironing. Then it’s off to Gatwick on Tuesday night for an early flight on Wednesday morning and then it’s Austria here we come :-D. It’s s*d’s law isn’t it that all the flights we want seem to go from Gatwick though we are nearer to both Stansted and Southend.

We had another of our group trips out on Wednesday. The main event was a Mississippi style paddle boat trip on the Norfolk Broads. We wondered how the organisers were going to fill the rest of the day. Well, first they stopped at Wroxham Barns for a good 2 hours. We wandered in all the gift shops, ceramics shops etc, walked round the field with the children’s play area, had a coffee and scone in the cafe and still had time to kill. The trip on the Broads started and finished at Horning. It was enjoyable with a very good commentary and we saw some wildlife but then found we had two hours in Horning. We had another scone and a pot of tea, walked up the road in one direction, down the road in the other direction, chatted to a lady painting her fence, sat by the water with an ice cream and wondered how to fill the rest of the time till the coach picked us up. The two ladies who arrange these trips usually do a very good job but this definitely wasn’t one of their better efforts.

I hope everyone’s headaches, upset tummies and painful backs and joints are feeling better now. Enjoy your evening and have a good night.

Afternoon All

The storm seems to have passed us by even though it did rain all afternoon. We were supposed to have a Yellow warnig too.
Oh Gill, I hope that OH is not going to have his view blocked from the new posts . If it is a safety issue would they not have to lower the height? It seems daft that they are going to have such a high gate like that when it obviously wont blend in .It is going to look very odd by the sounds of it.
Glad Sandra enjoyed spending all her money and had a yummy McDonalds too :-D :-D. I am always harping on about how I would love to have a McDonalds but no-one else is willing to have one with me :-S..I said to Chris the other day maybe he could bring one in to hospital for me LOL You should have seen the look I got...It said NO CHANCE :-|

I cant believe you have almost completed your Xmas present shopping. I know you are always done well in advance but this has to be the earliest I think :-D

Frank, Argentinian Beef is just brilliant .I love the sound of that restaurant. One of the best steaks I ever had was in Dubai of all places.I think it was Black Argentinian Beef?
Hope you find out where the disabled pick up point is at Luton. You still haven't said when you are actually coming home(unless I missed it)

Mel what a sleep you had in the end! I can never manage to do that even when I have been awake half the blooming night. Did you see what kind of Owl it was? How lovely the Blackbird still managed to keep its nest :-D

I couldnt download all Anns photos.None to begin with and then a few in full but one blank and one half blank :-S. Got most of them now though and they are beautiful :-D I love all these wonderful pics of close up flowers.
I saw a chap at the side of the road the other day.He had pulled up and got out to get up close to some lovely Poppies on the verge to get some pics. They did look so pretty. They need to do something about the verges here and do a bit of cutting back.Just a foot would do .Going around the bends in the country lanes ,its hard to see if anything is coming the other way . I noticed yesterday down near Janice how nice the verges were and not a bit of litter or fly tipping.
Coming home I really noticed all the disgusting rubbish again all along the A14 and most of it plastic bottles and plastic wrapping that flies off the back of some trucks.
Paper bags should be used these days for fruit and veg in particular. There really is no excuse now for plastic bags especially for these kind of foods. I think our Tesco AnnG has stopped putting Chicken and meats in other clear plastic bags although I was asked if I wanted my chicken double bagged the other day. Us as customers should be quite capable of having enough bags with us to put meat in one to keep seperate from other foods.

I hope I am not repeating myself here ,but yesterday after leaving Janice we popped in to Morrisons(you know the one AnnG) just to get some bread. Not having been in that store before I didnt know where the Bakery bit was so as there was a Security chap stood just inside the door I thought I would ask him. Well he didnt answer and when I looked he was fast asleep standing up !!!!!!!! He had dark glasses on so I didnt notice his eyes were shut LOL Great security :-D

Evening all,

Not so warm today but we still had some sun and just a little shower after lunch .

Gill it sounds like Sandra had a good old spend up yesterday :-D
My goodness your getting ready for Christmas early :-D you'll tuck them away and forget what you've bought LOL

So not a very good nights sleep for you then Mel but you made up for it having the lay in until lunch time ,does OH come in and see if your ok or does he just leave you ?

More lovely photo'd from both Ann's , i love all the close up ones you can see so much detail in them and the colours are beautiful .

Ann that was nice buying the bird table for your friend i bet she was pleased with it and the cats will keep an eye on it too i'm sure .

Frank i thought it was the other way round with the pups ,i thought the white one was the pushy one :-D looks like the girls are putting him in his place LOL
Is it this next week you come home ? i hope you can get sorted out so you know where you need to be in the airport .

Jane how on earth could he sleep standing up LOL you'd have thought he would have keeled over .
I think they should have bags to put some of the meat or chicken in as some times they are all sticky and bloody underneath ,it's all right if you keep one bag for things like that and then you can rinse it out but if you don't notice the bags going to smell.
I see Waitrose are trying out loose products where you take your own container and fill it up ,we use to have a shop in town that had all loose products from cereal to flour and even soap powder but it closed several years ago, we have had The Works open this week so i had a good look round in there the other day ,lots of nice things the girls would like for crafting .

Vera we haven't been to Wroxham barns for several years but when we went i thought there wasn't that much there really .
You'd have been better going into Wroxham rather than Horning ,you could have sat by the river and watched the boats trying to get under the bridge ,it's quite funny watching them trying to line to go through ,we've heard some choice words when they hit the bridge.

What is the weather likely to be in Austria Vera? I hate packing for holidays and second guessing what to take. Layers I should think in your case. We used to fly a lot from Gatwick even living here but OH got fed up with the drive back late at night. Going we used to stay overnight.

Glad you liked the photos.
That was a bit of a weird trip then, really boring if nothing to look at. Did anyone else comment?

Frank hope you can find the info you need from Luton.
Maybe if you had taken a camera it would have encouraged you to walk around a bit to take some photos.

Jane, yes we used to shop in that Morrison’s all the time when we moved here, that was before they built our large Tesco. Did he wake up with a jump?
We seem to catch the edge of the storm a heavy shower and a flash of lightening in the distance,

Mandy, you seem to have been quite lucky with the weather today, hope it is not on it’s way to you.

I have just put a bit about our stroppy little Robin on the bird thread on the hobbies board. He is so funny.

Annx Report 7 Jun 2019 21:53

Evening All,

Quite cool today with some heavy showers. Luckily OH was up early and in the garden digging up more shrubs and was done just in time before the rain came. Then he got an urgent call with short notice for a meeting this afternoon, so lunch was a quick affair after I got back from beading. We were in the new garden room today and it's very nice. Polly, my friend's 3rd cat, who spends most time outside as she doesn't like the big cats came and sat on the step outside to watch us through the glass door. She was a rescue cat and is a bit wary, but nearly came inside when the door was opened. I think once she is used to us she will come in and sit on the easy chair to watch us.

Tomorrow will be an early start as me and one of my beading friends will be at a workshop to make a beaded angel! lol At least that will be something done for Christmas, but I will never keep up with Gill. :-D It's a nice thought to get everything done early though and be able to relax then.

Frank, that naughty bully boy sounds like he is getting his comeuppance from the two girl pups now! I bet they have sharp little teeth now!

Gill, if your neighbour wanted a front fence higher than a metre he should have applied for planning permission as he can't just put a fence up higher than that without getting permission. You can check this on your council site under planning applications. I see Sandra has had a great time spending then!! lol She still has her zoo trip to come too.

Vera, it sounds like you had a good trip, but the stop offs were a bit too long really. There needs to be plenty to look at in a long break. How is your back now? I hope it's better so you can enjoy your Austria trip. Which part will you be going to?

Mandy I'm sure my friends cats will keep an eye on the new bird table! At least she insists they all wear collars with bells on to give the birds a fighting chance and two of them are a bit plump for anything too strenuus and prefer indoor lounging! :-D It's a nice bird table with a slate roof. A local man makes them from timber he obtains to use up, so they all vary in size a bit and they are very sturdy. He only charges £25 for them which is good. She was quite emotional that we had got it for her and gave us all a hug. Her hubby is really doing well after having stents fitted and feels much better. He has to have more stents fitted, but she is thinking they may be able to go on holiday this year now.

I'm with you about wrapping meat in an extra bag. You would think there must be some contamination on the surface of the wrapping from the machinery and conveyors/tables where it is wrapped and sometimes it feels wet or leaks anyway. Even if you use a seperate shopping bag to put it in yourself it means having to wash the bag each time and then you have to be careful the meat wrapper doesn't touch anything in the fridge. They can still make a huge difference using paper packaging and bags for all the fruit and veg and the unecessary plastic packaging on nearly everything else they sell from makeup to easter eggs.

So the Blackbird carried on regardless with her nest then Mel and hopefully you will be hearing chicks soon. How nice to see the Owl too! I haven't seen one around here for years, but when we first moved here you could hear them hooting at night. Did your OH manage to fix the mower and is the hot tub helping him?

Morrisons always gives me a plastic bag for my meat and chicken.

I bought presents for the boys today for Christmas. I usually buy through the year suitable things for their stockings but today I fell in love with a Marble Game where you build a shoot for the marbles to go down and around these brightly coloured gutters. I think they will like it but it will have to be a shared present. I also got them two little bits for the stockings. They won't have so much in them this year though.

When I got home I was outside the back door looking down the garden and there was a great thmp from my shed area. It was the baby woodpecker who had flown into the glass. He stayed on the side of one of my plant pots for a while and I waited to see if it was ok and then it flew off into the trees behind my shed so I think it was alright.

Was'nt going to spend much today but I ending up spending £55 in Mole Valley and a few pounds in the Pound shop. Chicken food costs me about £23.

Its been raining here most of the day and felt quite chilly out there so no going in the tub tonight for me. Oh went in this morning but being out this afternoon I don't know if he went in this afternoon but it is getting a lot of use.

The blackbird is sitting on 5 lovely blue speckled eggs. I took a pick when she went up the orchard to feed. I thought she had a poo sack when she flew off so I needed to se if anything had hatched but it had'nt.

I bet all Sandra bought was to do with her card making. she loves doing the cards dos'nt she. O bought something for her for Christmas today too. I have great fun looking for bits and bobs for Sandra and the boys. Its like having grandchildren I can actually see, well not Sandra but I have seen pics and she sends me lovely cards.

Gillx Report 8 Jun 2019 10:10

Morning Mel, morning all

It's still pouring with rain here and has been since just before noon yesterday. I've just noticed there is water going up the wall inside the window and now the wallpaper is wet, it looks like there's a small gap in the corner of the window frame, so I'm going to put some sealant around the frame on the outside once the rain stops and the window frame is dry. I just hope it doesn't get to wet on the inside and ruin the wallpaper. On a positive it looks like putting the sealant in the holes where the drain pipe brackets are has worked as that part of our dining room wall is dry now. OH has just nipped up in the loft to make sure there's no leaks there and I'm going to check all the windows to see if any of those are letting the rain in. I would never of known the water was coming in if it hadn't of been for all the continuous heavy rain we've had for the last 9 hours. OH's just come out of the loft and said it's all dry up there, so that's good.

Yes, I did well with my Christmas shopping, although I had no intentions of buying anything, it just happened when Sandra spotted lots of things she liked in the craft area of the Range. I do like to buy things throughout the year for Christmas or it'll cost me a fortune if I buy everything all at once nearer the time, but this is the first time I've bought so much in one go and so early in the year. At least it's all bought now. I have some Christmas paper so I'm going to wrap it all up for her and put it in her Christmas bag I use every year, then make a list of everything I've bought and pop that in the bag to remind me what's in there so I don't double up on anything. I'll then pop a towel over the top of the bag to stop it all getting dusty and put the bag on top of my wardrobe, it's where I normally put it when it's getting closer to Christmas anyway so I won't forget where it is if I do it now. I'll do the same with OH's presents, although I do need to buy a few more things for him. Then I just need to remember to take the lists out of the bags nearer Christmas Day. LOL

Yes, Mel Sandra bought lots of stickers and other things for her card making, she also bought some more colouring books and lots of felt tip pens and colour pencils and another pencil case, and she also found a pink heart shape cushions which is now on her bed, plus a few other bits and bobs, so she had a great time and we were lucky with the weather to, as it was sunny all day and warm. She'd been so patient waiting to spend her birthday money, bless her, but with mum in and out of hospital and the workmen next door, then all the rain we've had lately it took ages to find a suitable day to take her. We wanted to take her to Chester Zoo that day but she wants to take her camera and the batteries hadn't been charged, so that'll be another treat for her when this horrible rain stops.

Sorry to hear you're having broken eggs again, lets hope it stops soon. How lovely to spot the Blackbird's nest, it won't be long before you see the babies. We've been watching all the Starling babies on our feeder, Sandra thinks it's great and has been getting her bird book out again to find other birds. She bought a bird colouring book with pictures of birds on one side to copy the colours onto the next page. So she's been finding them in her bird book to.

I didn't realise our neighbour needed planning permission to put up a high gate Ann, thanks for letting me know, if it causes a problem and OH can't get out of our drive safely then he'll ask the neighbour to put in a smaller gate, if he refuses and hasn't had planning permission then at least the council might do something about it, if it comes to it. At the moment we're not going to say anything, because we don't want to upset them and it might not be a problem if OH can see past it. We'll wait and see what happens and take it from there, but thanks again for letting me know.

Nothing much planned for today, with the weather being so wet, so I'll probably do a bit more of OH's family tree and catch up with a few programmes I've recorded. I had a blocked ear the other day so used some Optrex, but it's been really sore ever since, I'm going to stay indoors where it's a bit warmer and hope it eases the pain a bit.

Good morning Mel and all,

Very breezy here today. It hasn't stopped me sitting outside. So you all had your fair share of rain yesterday, Harvey emailed me and said it had rained all day in Bedfordshire. I expect it was the same at home The weeds will be growing like wild fire, gawd knows what my veg patch will be like.

Vera I absolutely loved the Norfolk Broads. Being stationed at OLD CATTON, Norwich, during most of my National Service, and loving Fishing. I spent many a happy day and night sitting in a rowing boat, pulled into the reeds at the entrance to Wrexham Broad. It was one Easter, after I was married that we spent Easter at the BURE COURT HOTEL, on the river Bure at Wrexham. That was when we fund out my then wife was pregnant with my Daughter. That was over 55 years ago. Roys of Wroxham seemed to own almost every outlet in Wrexham. Is it still the same ???

Conrad day was very successful with the opening of the new villa. He got home around 6.30 pm Had a rest and shower then changed and cooked the BBQ, so it was after 8,00 pm before we ate. I cleared everything away and did the washing and drying up. while the three of them watch T.V. Soon after 10.00 I was in bed with my book. I got out for the loo just before I settled down, there was only Ros sitting up then, so I left her to it.

Conrad has had to go the the office for an hour or so this morning. He has a Client coming sign contracts for a sale. He should be back around 12.30, and he will be finished for the weekend.

The pups had them awake at 5.15 this morning, so they transferred them to their outside quarters, and went back to bed. As it's Sods law, they settled down and all went quiet. They have been fed, and had a good run around the kitchen/lounge, and are now sleeping.

No idea what is planned for the rest of the day, but I am taking them out to eat later. Tomorrow we will go for lunch around1.00 pm. We will have to be at the airport around 8.00/8.30 for our 10.00pm flight to Luton. We arrive back around midnight. Once we get to Harveys, it will be a 30 minutes drive home.

Eos always starts shopping for Christmas Presents after the New Year. She sees something that she thinks so and so would like, and buys it. Ticks it off her list and packs it away in a suircase on top of the wall drobe. It helps spread the cost over a long period and saves a lot of pressure nearer Christmas. It's something she has always done, and she will no doubt continue to do. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I hope the weather has improved for you all today, and that you have a nice weekend. xxxx

Soo you're home late tomorrow then Frank. It dos'nt seem like three weeks you have been away but I suppose because we are hearing from you the time passes quickly. I hate it when you go and don't post as I like to know what you're up too.

We've had a heavy shower of rain just as I was going out to feed the girls so I have left it for a while. Dusted the bedroom and packed the eggs for Em plus a little pressy for the boys. Its only some things you put in the freezer to make lollies or should I say triangles in orange flavour. Theres 8 in the pack for only a £1 and they had strawberry or orange and I know they both drink orange juice. Was'nt sure about strawberry for Sam as he is a fussy eater.

The clouds are moving fast across the sky so I better do the girls now. I want to clean them out today too.
