Afternoon Mel, and all.

A lot cooler thisfternoon with a good breeze, but still 30 degrees.

I have been sitting outside reading my kindle, which I am able to do when there isn't bright sunshine.

Both Jan and Ros were giving out the zzzz. Jan outside and Ros on the sofa indoors, when the noise started up from the builders. It looks, and sounds like. they are taking down the scaffolding, Not bothering to hand the poles down to the one on the ground , but just letting them fall. and clatter against the ground and anything they might hit on the way down. No consideration for us holiday makers. ;-) ;-) ;-).

Conrad said he is stopping off at the Supermarket, to get things for a BBQ. tonight. With this breeze,I think we will have to eat indoors.

Lola and the pups are fast asleep, curled up in the inside box. I think I will try to get 40 winks myself, if the noise lets me. Fortunately my head is feeling much better today, the swelling has gone down on my bumps, and touch wood I haven't han any signs of a headache.

That is so nice Mel, about the story of the orchids. I bet they give a lovely display, and must be nice for you to see them every year. How many do you think there are ?? That's a long time for the washing machine to be on, if he is only doing a few bits. Typical men, but I must admit I don't do the settings on the Machine. I only turn it off when it finishes and empty it in to the basket, ready for hanging out, which Ros likes to do, as she says I don't do it properly..

Afternoon all. I have a new (to me) Iphone7 - daughter gave it to me when she upgraded. I have spent all day until now getting to grips with it, getting it sorted out and adding phone numbers. brain dead now :-D At least it kept me out of mischief.
Not looking forward to the dentist tomorrow. First side of a deep clean under local A. Hate the dentist!

Frank, it must be awful having that racket going on when all you want is a bit of peace and quiet.How much longer are you there now? I am glad your bonce is a lot better now.Those pups and Mum sound so adorable.They will miss you as much as you will miss them when you come home. Hope the wind eases up so you can have the BBQ tonight.
Mel that is good that Jane has put canes around the Orchids. It would have been such a pity if they had been mowed down. At least they are safe now :-D

AnnGI have an iphone SE.I have no idea what the difference is between all these iphones LOL Not even sure what SE stands for :-S

I went over to Rushden Lakes again this morning to take back a Bra and when I got to M&S it was shut as there had been a power cut . I thought I would pop along to Boots and then realised that the whole place was without power. ALL THOSE SHOPS!!!.
Thankfully it wasnt too long before power was back on. The lady on the till in M&S said they only had a few minutes more before all the chilled food would have had to be disposed of :-0

I think a delivery van has just pulled up outside.Probably another parcel for James !

Happy anniversary Mandy and Colin I had not realised either.

Hope you can be outside for the barbecue Frank, enjoy it anyway.

I don’t know the difference either Jane, I don’t use the actual phone usually but use texts and that seems fine. I decided to take a contract so I could use it for emails when out and about if necessary.

Thank you for the Anniversary wishes ,it's 43 years Jane !!! we had a nice lunch out ,only in Weather spoons but we all came out full up ,DIL had the Cod and Chips and son Colin and i had a Chicken Feast ,Lewis had nuggets and chips and Jake came too as he didn't have to go in to school until 1-30 ,he had the Chicken Feast too .
Son and DIL bought us a little bird house and a nice Succulent in a pot which i have on the table outside .

Ann i hope OH's tummy has settled down ok now ,did you manage to get to the talk last night ? i should think it was interesting .

Oh Frank the poor little pup falling in the pool it must have been a shock for the poor thing thank goodness Jan saw it go in .
What a shame there is all the noise going on lets hope once the scaffolding is down it will be quieter for you .
Hope the wind has calmed so you can enjoy the BBQ outside .

Mel that's good the canes have marked were the Orchids are in the field it would have been such a shame to have mowed over them .

Gill i hope your internet is working ok now ,it always seems to go off just when you want to use it .

I wonder how long they wait before they throw all the food away Jane ,perhaps they give it to one of the local food banks if not what a waste it would be .
You saying about the Bra , i had a clear out in my under wear draws and threw out twelve old Bra's ,there's six more that i thought could go in the clothing bank bin and that still leaves me quite a few ,i can now close the draw properly with out having to push the things down to close it so it was a job well done .

Yes you're right Mandy the Internet always seems to go off when I need to use it, I was so disappointed I couldn't get on here this morning to wish you a happy anniversary and was wondering if I would of been able to get on here at all today. OH said he saw BT up one of the phone poles, so they must of been doing something. It sounds like you had a lovely family meal out.

I hope you managed to have your BBQ Frank and that the noise had stopped by then.

That was good of Jane to put the canes up to protect the Orchids Mel. There must be a fair few of them around after 27 years. I bet they look beautiful scattered all around.

Good luck at the dentist tomorrow AnnG, I'm not keen on the dentist either so I know how you feel. I'm sure it'll be fine though. I got myself in a bit of a pickle when I had an abscess but it turned out okay in the end and made me wonder what I got in a state for in the first place. I'm sure it'll be okay.

Sorry to hear you had a bug Jane, hope you are feeling better now.

That's a lot of years Mandy!! How the time flies. Wetherspoons is fine for a meal and was a nice change from cooking. I remember going there after being a witness in my first court case as an inspector at work. My knees were knocking with nerves and I had a nice big bap with pork and gravy on that they did then. I've never forgotten it. I would have liked your presents too. OH's tum was much better today thank you. He hasn't fancied eating much but he came with me to look around M&S tonight. Yes I got to the talk ok with time to spare. It was very good as the consultant who did it explained things very well. She went through cataracts, AMD, floaters, Glaucoma and the effect Diabetes has on your eyes. What I found useful was her emphasis that cataracts should be treated if they affect your quality of life, not according to how many lines you can read on the optician's chart.

OH is wanting me to watch something so I will have to catch up with posts tomorrow now!

Morning all,

We have sunshine with deep blue sky and big white fluffy clouds in a cluster hanging on the breeze to dry.

I am going in the garden if my knee will allow as I twisted it a bit yesterday and went to bed with a wheat thing on it.

Hope you are all ok this morning and had good nights sleeps.

Mandy will the pool be ready for the weekend for the children to go in it? Have you been in it yet?

Good morning you all, Belated greetings to Mandy and Colin, Sorry I didn't know the date you married, Just couple of days and years between us, lol Hd I stayed married it would be 60 years in October. is that a DIAMOND Anniversary. ??

The noise did stop eventually, they were taking down the scaffolding, and just drop everything from great heights, no H &S out here.

Conrad bought back so much for the BBQ that it was decided that we had enough for another one this evening. He bought masses of Prawns, 4 big sardines for me, which he only cooked two. There is chicken, Turkey, sausages and others bits for tonight.

Jan has just put the T.V. on for the "D" day landings, Even as a five year old, I remember the radio covering all the news. No TV in those distant dark days. OH what sacrifices those boys gave, to free us of the terror of war. Never to be forgotten.

I had a so, so, sort of night last night, I kept waking, and drifting back to my younger life. I just don't know, if, or how, I can stop this happening. I know it's getting more and more regular.

Ann, I bet that talk was very interesting. Each time, (every six months) I go to the eye department at the hospital, for my checkup. They say my Cataracts in my right eye are fine, yet I had the ones in my left eye, removed a few years ago. It seems strange there is such a difference.

Mandy thats a lot of bra's !!! I know Ros, has a chest of draws full of bra's, tops and underclothes. She always has a job to close the draws. So it might be time for her to have a sort out. ;-) ;-) ;-) Or i will have to have a rummage through. !!!! That would start the THIRD WORLD WAR. lol lol

Nothing planed for me today. The girls are going to a Garden Centre, then on to the Shopping Centre, where they will mooch around. Jan hired a car the other day when they went to the SPA DAY, so is keeping it until we go home. They can now come and go as they please.

There is a fly indoors, being a pain int he A@@@ It keeps landing my body and arms. I am swatting around like a man with no arms. !!!!

Good afternoon Frank and Mel. Frank whereabouts are you in Spain, I guess Murcia but anywhere near Alcazares? That is where we used to stay.

Back from the dentist, injections not too painful today as he sprayed the areas first, a bit uncomfortable but bearable. Next side on 4 July after our L Dist holiday

Glad the dentist was ok for you and now you don't have to go for a while so thats over till next time.

Its come over cloudy here today and its a bit on the chilly side out there.

I have done lots of ironing this morning as oh was having a sleep so I could'nt hoover but at least the most of it is done.

Bathrooms next I think.

I have just been round the garden and there are photos of Petunias, roses, hostas and others on the photo blog.

What a blue sky we have here.Its a lovely evening. We got home about 5.30 from Tewkesbury with the boot full of equipment for me.Including a Zimmer LOL
We all enjoyed a good lunch at the Gupshill .It was a bit on the breezy side so we ate inside. The traffic was pretty horrendous in places especially on the way back .But at least there were no hold ups.

The trip to the Dentist didnt sound too traumatic AnnG which must have been a relief for you. I think a local anaesthetic gel should always be used before any injections.

How lovely to see the Woodpecker feeding its baby Mel :-D.I am getting rather fed up with our one that seems to be taking over the Window feeder. It is beautiful to see but it can be quite aggresive with the smaller birds who want to get a look in.

Frank ,,all that food for the BBQ !!!!!!!. Did Conrad think he was feeding the 5 thousand?? You are going miss all that lovely fresh seafood and Sardines(I think Sardine). When we went to Portugal and had Hannah's friend Sarah with us she always would chose Sardines when we ate out. I hated just seeing the things.
Talking of Portugal my Nephew Michel is off there tonight to Oporto for a Stag do.I see there has been trouble there with the football fans !!!!! We are hoping all the fans will have left by tonight as the Stag group do not need to be in the middle of any hooligans.

We have seen some old military planes flying over a little while ago. They must be heading home from the various places they have been today and yesterday for the D Day Remembrance . Those wonderful Veterans!! How amazing was it that so many were still able to go over to Normandy. Tissues out here :-(
