Morning Mel, morning all

Nice to see you on here Jane, sorry to hear about your psoriasis and hope it clears up soon, you're probably right and it's the stress that has made it flare up. What a lovely idea of you and Gareth's parents to pay for a holiday for Hannah and Gareth, it'll do them the world of good to get away. I should expect there will be lots of tears and hugs over the weekend, but nice to all be together. How is James now?

Sorry to hear about your sister Frank, I fully understand how you think the kindest thing for her is to pass in her sleep, it can't be easy for you right now. Sending hugs <3 Enjoy your time in Spain it'll be nice to see all those puppies and give them plenty of cuddles,I bet you'll be tempted to put one or two of them in your suitcase when you come home lol ;-)

How is your ankle today AnnG, I remember doing something similar to you and it took a while for it to get better, the walking pole will help.

The teachers and children did well with the fire drill 3 minutes is a good time to get out of the building Mandy, it's such a shame they have to do an intruder one to, but I suppose it's the sign of the times isn't it? How is the painting gong on the fence panels at least you have the weather for it, it's lovely and sunny at the moment.

What a shame you could make it to see the film Vera, at least you got a refund for more plants :-D :-D I loved the comment you made on your garden expanding, it made me laugh. I hope your back is better soon, rest up today and don't over do things.

Not long to wait for your op now Ann, it's good the doctor is pleased with you. Not to many of those choc ices, you don't want to undo all your hard work. You can always send them to me I'll help you out with them lol ;-)

I don't blame you for getting out in the garden today Mel, it's lovely out there. OH and I have just been sorting out our pots, removing the one's that have gone over and replacing them with the next ones to flower. My mum said yesterday every time she comes around our garden is a different colour, she said it looks really nice and she looks forward to seeing what else is going to flower, she also loves our water feature.

Mum was saying yesterday that she has to have something done to her heart, she couldn't remember the name of it, but they are going to speed her heart up then slow it down to see what is happening. It sounds very scary I hope she'll be okay, not sure when they are doing it though.

My sister is visiting her today and we're going tomorrow as my sister is at a wedding, so we've organised it between us so mum has visitors each day, plus it's our way of making sure she doesn't over do things again, as she loves to go out all the time. This way she'll have to stay in for a couple of days which is our crafty way of making her rest. Her friend didn't make it yesterday as it was a bit late for her, she's in her 90's, so she's visiting her this morning before my sister goes this afternoon and we'll call around tomorrow morning. Between us all she'll have some company and be resting at the same time, rather than driving here and there all day like she normally does.

Missed your post there Frank. Pleased to see you had a good nights sleep 10 hours is a long time so you must of needed it. Yes, that's a good idea to let the dog come to you and maybe you could wait for cuddles of her babies to as she might not like it. I'm sure she'll come around once she knows you aren't going anywhere for a while. The slate mine sounds huge it must of been lovely to see, but not so good for the men working down there I shouldn't think. That was nice for you to have a free pint and Ros a free pud, at least your second meal was better than the first one. I hope Ros find the right charger for your razor or you'll look like Grizzly Adams when you get home lol :-D :-D ;-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 May 2019 12:45

You should try and keep all your chargers in one place Frank. Thats what I try and do. Trouble is these days you get so many. You must have needed that sleep and 10 hours was a nice long time. Your shower should have woken you up.

I have been up the top and taken some pics of the lovely Hawthorn tree oh plants out the top in front of the potting sheds. Its a picture in full blossom and a beautiful shape too. The Wisteria is hanging over the wall on the way up and also has a Hawthorn tree which it has gown into. I never prune it because I can't get to it with the top garden being so overgrown and its high up anyway so well out of my 5' 2" reach.

Its sunny but watery if you know what I mean and the sky is a bit cloudy and only showing a little blue here and there.

I had three eggs this morning so thats two days in a row now. What good girls when the weather is dry!

Gillx Report 16 May 2019 13:46

Love the pictures Mel, that tree is massive and all that blossom what a lovely tree to look at. The wisteria looks good to.

I'm just making a pan of strew for mum, I thought it would be easier for her to just warm a bowl up when she fancied it and it would save her cooking. The weather is suppose to be going colder over the next few days so it'll warm her up to. I'm making a bit extra so Sandra and I can have some here as well. I'll drop mum's stew off later.

There's a lot of noise coming from next door, he's still having his kitchen put in so there's sawing and banging. I don't think it'll take them long to finish it at the rate they are working, it's the insurance doing it so it'll be done properly. I think the new neighbours are moving in next week or the week after.

Well, I'd better go and keep an eye on this stew before it burns, I don't think mum would like that ;-)

Frank

Frank Report 16 May 2019 15:17

I'm sure your MUM all be very pleased with the stew Gill. I love a stew anytime of the year. Ros makes one, that is to die for.

A neighbour across the road, Jean. Her daughter just called over to ask Ros if she would like some unfinished tapestry and knitting. Together with a bag of knitting needles, cottons, silks, wools and loads of bits and pieces. She knew Ros belonged to "STITCHERY DO" and thought of her before throwing them away. She got married again THREE WEEKS AGO. Her poor 1st husband died a few years ago, as did the new husband's wife. The new husband is clearing out the house of things that were his wife's. That's how Ros has come into all this stuff. Ros will take what she doesn't want to S. Do, which I think will be most of it.!!!!

I have felt faint all day today. I did manage to put the line up while Ros went to Tesco, and emptied the whites wash from the machine into the basket. When I went to take it out to put it on the line, I nearly went a "PEARLER" so left the basket on the patio. Ros hung it out when she got back. She has since done a coloureds wash and this is on the line as well.

She is at the Drs having her Diabetics check up. then she will call and see Valerie Barker regarding Choir practise tonight, and the watering of the plants while we are away. Val and Carolyn have offered to do it between them.

Sorry Mel, What is very clever. ?? I am always doing clever things. lol lol

Ready meals from Iceland for tonight, so no cooking for me. We have a fridge full of fresh vegetables, so Pam and Tony will have that between them on Monday. I know we will never eat all that's in there. I hate to just throw it out.

Pleasant sunshine at the moment, even though I feel cold, and shivery. I hope I'm not going down with anything, before our holiday.

Hope you find Mum well tomorrow Gill, and hope that G & H have a nice break at Whitsun, Have you decided where they are being sent yet ?? Wherever it is, I am sure they will appreciate it, and enjoy the time away, together.

It's starting cloud over, so I think I will try to get the washing in, in case it start to rain.

Evening all,

Nice to see you Jane <3 time away for Hannah and Gareth sounds a great idea after all they had to deal with , let the tears flow nothing wrong in that ,it's not good to hold it all in
I'm sorry your psoriasis is back again but with all the stress it's not surprising it's started again ,you need your holiday so you can try and relax .
Oh dear a christening will be hard for them both and hard for the friends who invited them too as they will probably be on edge as to what to say ,i do feel for them .

We've been in the garden ,Colin has got one panel up today , i've pottered and you carn't really see what i've done as it's all little odd jobs .

Ann that's good the surgeon was pleased with you and i had to smile that you celebrated with a choc ice LOL at least you know you can have the summer to see how you go and the two month wait isn't to bad a time to have to wait for the op.

That good mum is home Gill and your keeping an eye on her ,i'm sure the stew will go down a treat .

Lovely photo's Mel ,the tree looks beautiful and the Wisteria ,it sounds as if your girls are getting use to the new house now and laying more lovely eggs for you .
I thought of Anne too ,it's quite a few days since we've heard from her i hope she's ok.

Sorry to hear you've felt faint today Frank and you had a good nights sleep too , have you tried having some thing sweet when you feel like that perhaps your sugar level drops .

Gillx

Gillx Report 16 May 2019 19:03

Feeling faint isn't good Frank, maybe something sweet like Mandy said, even if it's just a drink of pop and a mars bar, so long as you get some sugar in you it should help.

It sounds like Colin is getting on well with the panels Mandy. I know what you mean with the little jobs it doesn't always look like you've done anything, but you know you have and I'm sure it does make a difference, every little bit helps.

Mum loved the stew and has some left over for tomorrow. She had a big bowl full as soon as I took it around as she was hungry, she said it was lovely. We're going to see her in the morning and her friend will be calling around to.

Mum's just had a new three piece suite and carpet fitted and it looks lovely, it was done the day before she went into hospital. She's having some new furniture delivered on Tuesday, it should of been delivered the day she took ill so it had to be put on hold, she's also looking forward to us decorating her living room, which should finish it off nicely.

Annx Report 16 May 2019 21:15

Evening All,

A nice day, but the temperature has dropped sharply tonight! I was getting in the car to go to one of the free talks at the hospital tonight and dashed back to shut the greenhouse door when I felt the cold breeze.

That's good your mum enjoyed your stew Gill and good to know she had something warm and nourishing to eat. She needs to just take it easy till they have sorted her out. A friend's hubby had a heart attack on Monday and they are keeping him in hospital till they have done the scans etc. He had a heart attack about a year ago and had a bad stroke at the age of 45. He is 80 now.

I decided to give beading a miss again tomorrow as I have too much to do before we go away. I bought some pink Snapdragons today as the other colours didn't look as good and another pink, so have been planting those instead of packing and cleaning!! I did do the bathroom and en suite though. The garden has somehow ended up mostly pink and purple this year, so it will be interesting to see how it all looks once everything is flowering.

Mandy those kinds of days are the ones when nobody notices how much you have done!! It's still satisfying to get them all done though.

Silly me left a cardigan behind at the hospital when I went yesterday!!:-( OH said to ring their lost property, but it was quite an old one that I was thinking of throwing out anyway so not worth making the trip really.

Frank it's horrid when you feel faint like that, but it was sensible and come inside and not risk falling. I hope you feel better now. OH gets like that sometimes and his hands get trembly. I'm sure it's when he hasn't eaten for a while.

I saw the ducklings today, but I think there are a few less than there were. They are so cute though and getting bigger now!

It's good the egg production is up Mel! :-D Let's hope they keep it up. Thanks for your pics. The Wisteria is looking lovely and the Hawthorne tree is beautiful. I love to see a Hawthorne tree instead of just hedges as, with not being cut, they have loads more blossom and I quite like the smell of it.

Hope AnnG had a good day. I try to do the layers thing too AnnG! Ever since the 'hot flushes' as I still tend to get hotter than everyone else. lol It can be a bit breezy where we stay though, so I'm even taking a fleece.
Beautiful sunset tonight.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 May 2019 21:20

Your mum enjoyed the stew then Gill and has more left for tomorrow. It sounds like she is going to be really pleased wehn you decorate the living room for her. She won't recognise her place with the new furniture.

I have been in the garden all afternoon again but you can't see anything I have done. I cut the long grass from around the arch in the orchard and tied up the Clematis on it. Tied up the Clematis in the tubs outside the bungalow and repotted some plants and tonight I had a bonfire and burnt up all the clippings off the rose I cut off the other day.

Pulled some nettles up too. There's no wind tonight so I used the tissues in the waste aper basket to light the fire and picked up some branches that had fallen off the big ash tree onto the lawn and they went on too.

When you look out there you can't see a thing I have done.

Sorry, late on parade?? I have read through but too tired to answer all the posts.
Annx I have been wesri g a fleece in the evenings some days. I do also have a coat with me which might well be of use next week.Realised I have not popped in today. It was sunny and warm all day so lots of visiting different beaches and sitting in the sun drinking coffee or wine. Weather looks like changing tomorrow our last day at Criccieth so we have a garden visit planned. Then it will be packing ready to move on.

Gillx Report 16 May 2019 22:41

It sounds like you've had another lovely day AnnG, where are you off to next?

The wind picked up here this afternoon and some big black clouds appeared, luckily it didn't rain as I didn't take a coat with me when we visited mum, it stayed dry in the end anyway, but it's gone colder now.

You've been busy to in your garden Mel, it's nice when you can get on with all the outside jobs that need doing, I finally sorted out moving my pots around this morning. I wanted to do it the other week but we had all that rain so it had to wait.
I've taken a proper look at the emails you sent me, thanks again for sending them.

It sounds like you've had fun buying some plants Ann, Sandra and I love pink and have quite a few pink plants in flower in our garden, they look lovely. Sorry to hear about your friends hubby, it's quite scary when that happens to loved ones, you feel so useless and you're just waiting for some good news. I'm pleased to see my mum is finally listening to people and resting, she said she's not going out for the rest of the week, I just hope she sticks to it as she's one for going here and there all the time.

We're going to take her to Homebase for her paint when she's up to it, she wanted to go next week but OH has a few appointments, so I said to wait a little longer as the job isn't being done until the middle of June and she would benefit from rest, rather than worrying about paint. She agreed in the end but, I think it's because she could see I was worried about her.

How are you feeling now Frank? I hope you have another good nights sleep, it'll probably do you the world of good.

Gillx Report 16 May 2019 22:51

I missed your post Ann, I hope your OH is okay, what an awful experience to go through. He should of phoned the police, if the boy had recorded it on his phone the police would of seen exactly what had happened and told the boys off. I'm sure nothing will come of it and hope he's okay.

I've just noticed the pictures you sent, the sunset is beautiful and those ducklings just melt your heart don't they.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 May 2019 00:13

Gosh she got a big clutch there Ann. I hope she keeps all 11.

Sunsets beautiful.

What an experience for oh though Ann. I hope nothing comes of it. I wonder if they had G's car reg on the phone? Surely G swerved in the opposit direction away from the lad and they could have seen that.

I don't know what the world is coming to nowadays. Just wait till they are older and something lik ethat happens to them. I wonder if they would remember doing when young?

I am off to bed now as I am wacked out.

See you all in the morning.

Morning all,

Skies a bit cloudy like yesterday but its nice and bright this morning so looks promissing for the day ahead.

Am wanting to go in the garden today but will see what oh has planned for me because if I decide to do something he usually gets me to do something else which is so annoying.

I also want to wash m y hair today.

Jane if you're looking in I have posted the parcel but forgot to take a picture of it so could you please send me one, thank you.

Annx I. Was saying that used to be called playing chicken.
In our village we have a problem with youngsters riding the path and suddenly swerving into the road, or riding three or four abreast slowly stopping the traffic. Even though the
Police have caught some of them they still do it. That is why we have carcams on both our cars.

Gill think we are going to a garden today. It has been raining but has stopped now.
The sea is very rough this morning, even though we are four floors up it is very loud as it rattles the shingle

Frank

Frank Report 17 May 2019 10:06

Good morning Mel, and all.

Ann that was a terrible experience for your OH. The little beggers have more than likely seen this SCAM on T.V. or some silly show, thinking they will get compensation if they report it to the police. I think your OH should report the incident, not only to the police but the school also. The little blighters might be trouble makers in school as well, and the staff will know about their antics,

Horrible, cold, overcast morning here. It certainly looks like rain. I did promise Ros last night that I would give everywhere a good watering this morning, somehow I don't think I will need too.

Pam Denis and Tracy are off on holiday to Dorset on Monday, so they won't want any vegetables. So Tony and Val. will get the lot. He won't need to buy any for a week, as they don't eat like we do. She is often sitting outside, with bowl of cereal, for her lunch. I don't think they do a lot of cooking at all.

I see you are busy in the gardens girls, !! It will keep you out if mischief. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Julia is down in CORNWALL looking after Laura's daughter while her and her partner are in the Carribbean for a week. I hope she's back, to take us to the airport on Tuesday afternoon. I will have to check with Harvey tonight.

Conrad rang last night and said. DON'T bring any jumpers/cardigans, as the evening are getting warmer, and daytime temps. are up to 28/30 degrees. JUST a bit warmer than here. lol lol

Ros has her hair appointment today, and her nails tomorrow, so she will be set up for her holiday. We have almost finished packing, with only odd and sods to go in. I am taking mainly shorts and short sleeve shirts, just a couple of pairs of slacks, for going out in the evenings. Plus I mustn't forget the Anniversary Card and Bracelet that I have bought for Ros.

I have just got two sirloin steak out for dinner tonight. I will do the mushrooms, onions, chips and peppered sauce, while she is at the hairdressers at mid day. I have also got a joint of beef out of the freezer for Sunday lunch. So I am well ahead of my self. ;-) ;-) ;-) It is really cold outside, so wrap up if you are going out.I think the forecast is better for you next week. I do hope so.

Is it today that Hannah and Gareth are coming for the weekend Jane. ?? it will be nice for them and James to have a bit of time together.

I hope Ann has a lovely break this coming week, Can't remember where you are going, but enjoy yourself. Not to many cream teas, if you are going South West. lol lol

Ros is cleaning the kitchen windows inside, and cleaning the window sills, dusting all her plants, and giving them a feed. They should last until we get back.

AnninG will be back today, to a load of washing no doubt. lol lol. I hope you enjoyed Wales. xx

Might try to get back later. xxxx
