Love the pics Mel, your lawn is lovely and your plants and bungalow. I'd love to live in a place like your's. The journal looks good, it didn't look as if there was a problem. You've made a lovely job of it. How wonderful to see those chicks walking across the orchard.

Evening All
I have just been clearing up cat sick :-S. Thomas is still not his normal self and keeps coming back doing the meowing thing.Maybe just to make sure we are here .I wish I knew where he had been. We decided not to go (well Chris decided we wouldnt go)
but now that Thomas is being sick I am glad we are here and I havent got him in the Cattery .

Ann I bet you were so glad you weren't going South yesterday seeing that awful traffic.Glad to see you home again after a lovely week .H&G are having a lovely time in Suffolk and Gareth was even brave enough to go Wild Water Swimming !!!It must have been freezing.

Frank, you are having a great time by the sounds of things and sleeping well too :-D Sorry your poor Sister is back in Hospital yet again. :-(

Mel I havent been able to download your pics yet. But will try again in a minute.

Sorry this is short and sweet post now but I do need to start doing something about dinner.

Evening All.

Stuffy and rainy here this morning. :-( Wish I was back in the fresh Cornish air again.

Mel, the Journal looks a treat. Pity it wasn't quite right, but at least you know for the next attempt. Your bungalow and garden look really nice, a credit to you both for all the hard work you do. <3 I bet the Pheasant and her babies looked so sweet!

I wonder if Thomas ate something that was poisoned Jane and was just too unwell to come home for a while? Hopefully he will be fine and back to his old self in a day or two, but might it be worth the vet giving him a once over in case he was concussed or something. Pity about your break, but as he's not himself you would only have worried about him if you'd gone. It's good H & G are enjoying their break and very brave of G to go in the icy water! I watched that Louis Theroux prog about mothers last night and can see why it was a bit close to home in one part.

AnnG, it was the Gloucester services with the turf roof where we stopped. Since we called in the first time last year, it's become our stop off........a bit expensive, but nice food in a nice environment. We must have skirted Gloucester with staying on the motorway, so maybe that's why we didn't see the traffic. We saw the Tall Ships at Liverpool around the time Gill said they were there. and went on a few of them, but I didn't know they were charging extra to go on them now

Sorry to her your sister is in hospital again Frank, but she will feel better once she is properly hydrated. Those puppies are lovely!! So sweet and cuddly! The white one could end up being a bossy boots and strong willed so it will be interesting how he turns out in a few weeks. I said 'he' but how many are boys and how many are girls? It sounds like you are having a perfect break and enjoying yourself! :-D

I hope your back carries on being ok Gill, good idea to give it a bit more rest. I will try and send a few pics tomorrow. The washing is all done and drying on the rotary. The plants all survived, but one in a small terra cotta pot was starting to wilt as those pots dry out so quickly, but it was fine after a drink. The greenhouse was fine and I must get a replacement for the tomato I lost when we go out tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing Suranne Jones again at 9.00pm.

Jane might be an idea to get Thomas checked out at the vets just in case he has internal I jurie or has eaten something.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 May 2019 21:16

I agree he should see the vet. It could just be stress if he has been stuck somewhere or that he has eaten too much after not eating for a few days. I wonder if he went down a rabbit hole? and got stuck. At least he knows where home is and all the love and attention he gets there with all of you. He knows you're his family.

Glad you all liked oh's lawns. He works on them a lot to make them look like that.

Oh bought me a strimmer yesterday and it arrived today. I have been out stimming the edge down towards Prickley Bottom and all round the apple trees in the orchard. Now I can hardly lift my left arm up. It really aches and when I bend it up it shakes. Oh said not to do so much next time. Its battery operated and the battery fits both his chain saw and hedge cutter. He has three batteries so there's always one ready to go in the machines.

Going to watch Gentleman Jack when oh is in bed. Am looking forward to it.

Did'nt go up the border today as it was quite cold out in the breeze and we had that mizzle all day till early evening which is why I went out with the strimmer in the sunshine.

Good morning you lazy loy. lol lol

Nice sunny morning here. After lunch yesterday, Conradtookus around some of his developments. My, there are going be some stunning properties. One show house we went in had 3 bedrooms too bathrooms, a beautiful pool area and the cost was just over 300,000 euros So not a bad price.

We came back for a nice relaxing evening, and I was in bed again by 10.00 pm. and asleep before Ros came in. I was woken by a lot of banging. I got up and checked around, but all was secure. It turned out to be some IDIOT letting off Fireworks at 1.00 am. That Bu@@@@ED MY NIGHTS REST. and was up and feeling very tired at 7.30 am.

Conrad is working today. They had their holiday the other week.

We had a call from Jan and Alexander last night. He loved his trains. they flash direct colour lights as they go round the track. Jan, Ella and Jo, are driving back to Devon today, she will fly back out here on Wednesday.

Pleased that Thomas is home safe and sound. Yes, it might be a good idea to have him checked over, you never know what he might have eaten. Now that Chris is retired, yu can always book another break before your main summer holiday.

The white pup is the male, all the other four were female. The vet is bringing two up, and hs homes for them already. BUSTER, as I call him, seems to be in charge, whatever and whenever he wants to move about, he just bulldozes his way through the others. We stand and look at them, and have to smile.

Ros has just made me a bacon sandwich. if you can call it that. It is as thin as a wafer and has no flavour to it whatsoever. So that's the first and last.

The builders have decided to flatten the building plots opposite the villa. So we will have DIGGERS and LORRIES around all day. We can't do much about it., as we have nowhere we can go.

It looks like STEAK and Salad for this evening meal. Conrad has got them out of the freezer, before going to work.

Lola is being a little pest, hanging around, for any tit bits, which SHE NEVER GETS at the table.

It's gone quiet outside, it might be coffee break, I ill go and have a little nose about. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Morning Frank, morning all

We've just had a massive downpour of rain, it was like a monsoon our there. It's nice to not have the lawn flood anymore now next door's extension has been done. I guess some good came our of all the ciaos. They are moving in tomorrow so it'll be interesting to see what sort of neighbours they're going to be.

Sorry to hear about your sister Frank, hope she's feeling better after having the drip. The properties over there are a good price and sound quite large to. We heard someone letting off fireworks the other night and wondered what it was, at first we thought it was someone next door, but thankfully it wasn't. I hope there's not to much noise from the diggers across the way and also no dust, that was the worse when they were working next door, all the dust. It's nice to finally have our place clean and tidy again.

Pleased to see your plants survived while you were away Ann and the one that needed a drink has sprung back into action. I'm looking forward to seeing all the photos later. My back seems to be okay now, but the weather is far to bad to get out in the garden. The weeds seem to be taking over, so I hope the weather improves soon so I can sort everything out and make it nice and tidy again. The lawns look nice though since OH cut them, but with all this rain they'll probably need doing again in a day or two.

Love the pics of the pheasants Mel, there's a lot of them and they're so tiny and cute. I'll show Sandra later when she wakes up.

Yes, I would take Thomas to the vets for a check up Jane, better to be safe than sorry. I can see why you wouldn't want to go away with him being sick. Can you change the date and go another time?

Frank

Frank Report 27 May 2019 10:43

Hi Gill, The noise from the digger is driving me mad. From what I can see they are clearing a corner closest to us, where it seems a lot of hardcore, pallets and general building waste has been dumped. They have taken two lorry loads already, so it might not go on for much longer.

Lola has been a pain in the A@@e. Every time the digger moves she barks, which in turn starts the pups off squealing. Ros. is reading her TAKE A BREAK which she bought the other day. She also does the crosswords, so that will keep her quiet. lol lol I have been sitting outside, but it has got very warm, so I have come in for a drink. I think I will be having a shave and another shower before lunch. Conrad should be home about 2.00 pm He has his lunch and tries to rest for a while. He has such a hectic working life, dashing around the various building developments, and seeing and showing clients around. He sold THREE VILLA'S last Friday, and another one Saturday morning.

How is Thomas this morning Jane, recovered from his ordeal I hope. Have you heard from G & H. ? I hope the weather is fine for them, and they are getting out and about and getting a bit of relaxation. xxxx Did lousy they had gone to SUFFOLK ??

Mel those baby Pheasants look lovely running through the grass. It won't take them long to be up and about, and eating all the food you put down for them. MEL. OH I DO LOVE YOUR BUNGALOW. I would love living there in the peace and quiet, but without all those acres to tend too. lol lol.Your OH certainly likes to see his lawns looking nice (as they do). I am hoping Barry came last Wednesday to do our lawns, even though we aren't there I like to think the garden looks nice and is being cared for. If the weather is dry and warm, I expect Val and Carolyn have been round and watered everywhere.

It will be nice to have your neighbours move in Gill. You will have to get a bottle of wine, as a welcome in present and a card. We always do that for immediate neighbours, when they move in. It certainly seems to break the ice, and makes them feel welcome. Not that anyone did it for us 20, years ago. !!!!

We have managed to get a collar and lead on Lola, and take her for a little walk around the small park area, just across the road from us. It's done out with nice flower borders with various trees, there are swings, roundabouts, slides and various other things for the children to play on. As yet I haven't seen any, but I expect they will be there at the weekend, if they are not at the beach.

I have yet to find a bar within walking distance or the villa. Conrad being a NONE DRINKER wouldn't know either. I think I will just have to walk around the area and see what I find, and of course I can always ask, if I can make anyone understand me.

I hope the weather is being kind to you all, and you are getting all your gardening jobs done. One good thing with a Villa, there is no garden. !!!!

Morning Gill and Frank and all,

Been raining here this morning but at the moment the sky is blue and white clouds so it may brighten up I hope.

I have forgotten I had the bed washing in the machine and its been done for two days!!!!!!!!!!!! Think I may have to do it again as it may smell and be very creased even though the machine has an anti crease finish thing.

Did'nt wake till 11am, how's that for a sleep?

Afternoon Everyone
I think Thomas seems fine today so no need for a visit to the Vet. He is still a bit clingy and doesn't seem to go far from the garden. But no more sick :-D.I wish he could tell me where he had been
I think Mels suggest of a Rabbit Hole could well make sense as we all know too well how much he enjoys Bunny Hunting. He is fast asleep in the summerhouse again now.

We cant change the dates for the cottage . No refunds either .But that was our decision (unfortunately ) to have to cancel on the day we should have gone.
Once I have had my hip done we will book somewhere for probably mid/late September.

Yes Frank it was Suffolk where H&G have been and it seems like they have had a lovely time .I am waiting ot hear from her later once they get back to London.

So new neighbours finally moving in tomorrow the Gill !! I am sure they will be decent neighbours. It has been a stressful time for both you and them over these last few months.I am sure all will be fine between you :-D

Mel I love your journal :-D :-D. We have a couple just like that :-D But I have had no other pics come through. They won't open :-S They seem to download ok but then it just comes up blank :-S. So I havent seen the Pheasant and babies or your Rhodo.

It keeps coming over so dark here and I think the heavens are about to open but then nothing happens.I did have some washing out but it 's too risky to leave it.

Ann, I love that Gloucester service station you stopped at.(with the turf roof) I bought some lovely meats there from the Butchers counter and everything is locally sourced.

Lola will be freaked out by the noise of those diggers Frank and probably really protective with her pups. Some dogs are really sensitive to noise. Our dear old Chester was a nightmare with anything loud.

Afternoon all,

We had a few spots of rain this morning but it didn't amount to much ,there's quite a wind though so i striped the bed off got them all dry before the spots of rain ,ironed them and they are all put away .

Jane i'm glad Thomas is ok after being missing for so long ,i was wondering too if he might have got stuck in a rabbit hole ,did he look very mucky ? if he had been shut in he might have sore pads or a claw or two missing were he's scratched to get out ,what ever happened to him it sounds as if he was scared poor little boy ,as you say if only he could talk.
That's good H&G are having a nice relaxing time although i think G was brave taking the cold water dip.
I've sent you Mel's pictures .

Oh no Frank all that noise from the diggers is not what you want to hear on your holiday ,i hope there's not to much to be moved so you can get back to a nice quiet holiday.

Mel you have a lovely bungalow there it all looks beautiful with the lawns so neatly cut .
Love the photo of the little chicks ,lets hope they all make it and there's no Mr Fox about .
You made a good job of the journal

So tomorrow is the day you have the new neighbours move in , is the kitchen all done now then or will they live round it until its done .
I'm sure you'll all get on and it sounds as if they love a garden like you do so you might be able to swap a few cuttings which would be nice.
