AnninGlos Report 25 May 2019 09:14

Just looking in to see if any news on Thomas.

Not planning to do a lot today. I am supposed to be resting my foot so I shall probably be supervising the head gardener Lol!!
We do plan to visit the local garden centre. Unfortunately no cafe there. We won't go to the others this weekend as Gloucester is set to be grid locked due to the Tall Ships festival, they are expecting thousands. :-( :-(

Gillx Report 25 May 2019 10:19

Morning all

Bright and sunny again today but it's forecast for rain on Sunday, we had a few spots of rain last night but it didn't last long. Saw a hog in the garden last night so we went into the greenhouse so we wouldn't frighten it away, we were to far away from the back door to get back inside. Well, the hog walked around for ages so we were held hostage in there for a while, then the silly thing tried to walk along the back of the greenhouse up against the fence, needless to say there wasn't enough room for it to go anywhere, so it had to come out backwards, at one point we thought it couldn't get out and OH had visions of having to pick it up and put it on the grass, luckily it made it out but then spotted OH in the greenhouse and ran to the bottom of the garden and out of sight, at least we could finally go indoors and to bed. It looked quite big so it's eating well, which is good.

Have you seen any hogs in your garden yet Mel? How's the water leak has it been fixed yet?

Has Thomas turned up yet Jane, I've been thinking about you and hoping he was back safe and sound.

I'd love to be your adopted daughter Ann, but I wouldn't be of any use to you at the moment, I twisted my back yesterday so I'm laid up on the sofa at the moment. OH is clearing between the flag stones and I tried to help him but didn't get very far before I had to stop. I think carrying the heavy furniture from mum's to ours the other day triggered it off, then yesterday when I was changing the bedding I twisted funny and now it's very painful. So it's a day of rest and painkillers for me. Thankfully all the housework is all done so I didn't have anything planned for today anyway, so I'll catch up with some programmes I've recorded and rest up. Have a safe journey home, hope the traffic isn't to bad for you and the weather's as nice as we've got, there's nothing worse than travelling in the rain.

So you're supervising the head gardener today AnnG :-D :-D I hope your foot eases soon after some rest. It sounds like we're both in the wars at the moment. That's a saying I haven't heard for a while. ;-) The Tall Ships sound interesting, I think they were on at Liverpool about 20 years ago but we never made it to see them, I believe they are very good.

You have your morning all planned by the looks of it Mandy, it sounds like Jake is a bit bigger than you thought if you need to change the shorts to the next size up.

How's life in Spain Frank, has the weather brightened up now? How's Lola and her pups today?

I think I might get a cuppa while OH is outside and make him one, then we can watch the final bit of Hatton Garden together when he's finished. We watched the programme than ran for 4 nights but there was an extra one on last night I recorded that we want to watch.

Morning all,

Yes Jane any news on Thomas we are all hoping....

Cloudy again here this morning.

Yes AnnG you rest that foot and let the head gardener do the work while you give the orders. Bless him!

Woke early and went to the loo and went back to bad. Bad idea woke again at 10.30am.

I was sitting here at my desk and there was a noise as if someone had thrown something at me. The only thing I could think of was I have the card on my pc box on my desk that Sandra sent me and one of the diamonds is missing but do you think for the life of me I can find it?

Frank

Frank Report 25 May 2019 11:27

Good morning Gill, Mel, and all.

When we took Jan to Alicante Airport last night at 7.00 pm the heavens opened. and it rained for well over two hours. I got wet going to the loo at a service station, and after we dropped Jan off, we drove to a Chinese for a bite to eat. Again we all got wet getting out of the car and getting into the restaurant. We all enjoyed what we had, and by the time we got home it was dry here.

What on earth has happened to our Thomas Jane. I do hope he turns up safe and sound. It might be worth putting a note in the local shop winder that he is missing.

The weather in very cloudy this morning, and again quite chilly. So I am sat at the kitchen table, instead of being outside. Ros has done a pile of Washing, which is now outside on the airer, the sun is shining down that side of the villa.

Conrad has gone to the office this morning, for a couple of hours. He's talking of dong a BBQ this evening, so hope the weather bucks up. Tomorrow the three of us will go out to lunch somewhere on the coast.

The puppies are growing like mad. Lola is protective but in a nice way. She is only 12 months old, so we surmise it's her first litter. The Vet is bringing two of the girl pups up end Conrad and Jan the other three. The Vet said that FIVE PUPS were to many for a little dog to bring up.The vet has homes for the two she is bringing up, and she will no doubt try to find homes for the others. Conrad is considering keeping the white one, but my advise would be NO. He's at work all day, and to have to leave two dogs alone all day (apart from 2 hours) at lunchtime, would be too much of a responsibility for him.

Well the Sun has got his hat on now, so I will go and sit by the pool with my book.

What hard life I have, ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) See you later. AND I DO HOPE THOMAS TURNS UP SOON <3 <3 <3

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 May 2019 12:20

I have forwarded the pics of the pups to you all for Frank.

Frank is Conrad keeping Lola? I do hope so as she would be lovely company for him even at the office when the pups have gone.

Suns out here now and its quite hot out there.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 May 2019 13:04

Thanks for the photo Mel, none of the pups look particularly small so might be quite a large breed.

Frank make the most of the sun while you can but don't forget the sunscreen.

Gill, Ouch!!! hope your back eases soon, sounds like you have pulled a muscle. We have been to the garden centre and bought yet more plants to fill in gaps, OH is doing a bit now while I rest my leg. I shall do a bit this afternoon. We are also looking after next door's garden as theya re now away for a week.
The tall ships are interesting. we have been once, it is only held every 2-3 years but they have now made the entrance fee an all in one whereas it used to be so much to go in then so much to go on the ships. As we don't want to actually go on the ships which get so crowded you an't see a lot, we opted not to go this year. As it happens it is a good job we have not bought tickets as I don't think I would make it with my foot. It is quite a long walk to the docks before going round seeing it all. I think they have four really tall masters in plus other smaller ships.

No news from jane yet then.

Mandy I see you also had an exciting day planned, fruit and veg and Tesco. wow!! We called in to our local Tesco Metro for the paper and it was heaving. I think people have chosen to shop there rather than plow through the traffic that is grid locking Gloucester.

Ann is it today you are coming back? gosh that went quickly, hope your journey was/id ok and not too busy.

Gillx Report 25 May 2019 14:22

Thanks for the pics Mel, I had a bit of trouble getting onto my emails, the password I used didn't work then I realised I was using the wrong one....silly me.

The pups are growing fast now aren't they Frank? It sounds like you had a right downpour of rain last night and got wet a few times. Hope it wasn't uncomfortable sitting around in wet clothes. At least it's brighter today for you, enjoy the BBQ later.

I didn't realise you had to pay for different things with the Tall Ships AnnG, it sounds much better having everything all included in the price now. I should imagine there would be quite a lot of walking involved to see them, good idea to give it a miss this time around and rest your foot. My back isn't to bad at the moment, so I think the painkillers are doing there job. It's more achy than painful now. It's a bit of a nuisance though as I can't do much and there were a few jobs I would of liked to have done in the garden today before the rain arrives tomorrow. Never mind the garden's not going anywhere, so the jobs can wait a bit longer.

Just watching the Chelsea Flower show I recorded last night, they are showing one of the garden's in the dark and it's all lit up, it looks beautiful and so different to the way it looks during the day.

Jane Report 25 May 2019 14:57

He is back!!. Gawd knows what has happened but he has not left our sides or the garden .We heard him meowing loudly outside last night but he wouldn't come in .I had to carry him in and he did settle with me in bed.He was almost on my pillow.
I think he might have been shut in somewhere .He was pretty hungry.
He is just not behaving like his normal self and seems to be just needing to be home .

Love the pics of the Puppies :-D :-D OMG they are so cute.

Will catch up with the thread in a bit.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 May 2019 15:06

O Jane what splendid news. It does sound as though he was shut in somewhere and at least he's not injured. What a silly boy making us all so worried about where he was. I bet you cried with relief when you heard him meowing. So all fed to the brim now and getting plenty of love and cuddles. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

AnninGlos Report 25 May 2019 15:47

That is good news Jane. When daughter's cat Lucas went missing (for about 2 months) we found him not far from home but not where he would have known where he was. He ran, we think, in a thunder storm and got disorientented. He yowled when he saw us and for three or four days would insist on sitting on our laps and the first night he even came and laid in bed with us laying on me.. Strangely we had been staying there when he disappeared and were staying again when he came back. I have to say he soon got back into the habit of wandering.

MillymollyAmanda Report 25 May 2019 16:03

Oh brilliant news Jane ,so pleased he's home, he's definitely been shut in if he's hungry as he's a hunter and would have caught some thing .

We're sitting out watching the birds on the feeder ,lots of squarking going on as the starlings have babies they are feeding ,there were four babies the other day then we saw them with six !!

I love all the puppies Frank they are just so cute .

Gillx

Gillx Report 25 May 2019 18:43

Oh Jane, I'm so glad Thomas is home, it sounds like he was shut in somewhere and glad to be home where he'll feel safe again, he must of been so frightened, good job you didn't go away in the end as it sounds like he needs you both right now. It must of been such a relief to hear him last night, now you can relax and enjoy having him back. No doubt though he'll soon be hunting bunnies and back to his old self again. I bet you wish he could talk to let you know what happened to him.

We've been watching the birds coming and going today to Mandy. How nice to see the babies, they do make a lot of noise those starlings, that's how we know they're on our feeder, all the racket they make pushing each other out of the way to get to the food.

2 months is a long time for a cat to go missing AnnG, I bet there were lots of cuddles for a while when he was finally found. Like you said though, he soon got back into the habit of wandering, as most cats do.

We've just started watching the F1, I didn't know Niki Lauda had passed away five days ago, what a shock that was to see on the TV.

Annx Report 25 May 2019 21:58

Evening Everyone,

Home now and just popped in to see if Thomas had returned. What great news Jane! I bet you could hardly believe your ears when you heard the miaowing. I was going to suggest pictures on lamposts next and offer to do some you could print off, but no need now. It does sound as if he was shut in somewhere with being hungry. Maybe that's why he wouldn't come in......a bit wary of doors closing behind him? Are you packing again now?? Or did you have to cancel?

We got home mid afternoon and had a good journey with little traffic. (6 and a half hours with a drinks stop and then for lunch at Gloucester) The traffic was horrendous and at a standstill for mile after mile coming the other way down to the West Country though!

Off to bed now.......we should sleep like logs!

Morning all,

Glad everybody is home safe and sound without too much hassle.

This morning we have light rain and a bit of a wind so no border for me today unless it stops. I was so hot in bed last night and thats not like me. I may do a bit of craft work and I know I hav'nt sent the pics of the journal yet but I was'nt very pleased how it turned out. I did'nt make the side gussets big enough and when I put the corner bits on I pressed too hard on the plyers so it dented them a bit.

Gillx

Gillx Report 26 May 2019 10:30

Morning Mel, morning all

As predicted the rain is here so the plants are happy. I see you have some rain to Mel.

What a shame about the journal Mel are you going to make another one, or see if you can fix the one you've already made, if it's possible?

How is everyone today Jane? Is Thomas okay now and not so clingy, it must of been frightening for him, hopefully he'll be back to his usual self soon. Are you still going away, I would if I was you, you both need the break and didn't you say James was home on Monday so he can look after Thomas. He can always ring you if you're needed back home, which I'm sure won't be the case.

I see you got home safe and sound Ann, I can't wait to see all the pictures you've taken, I bet they're lovely, as they always are <3 Now you've just got all the washing to get through, that's the down side to coming home isn't it? :-( Hope all your plants survived like AnnG's did.

Nothing planned for today, it's to wet to do any gardening. My back seems okay this morning so I thought I'd have another restful day again just to make sure it's better. The last thing I want is to over do things and make it bad again.

What is everyone else up to today?

Frank

Frank Report 26 May 2019 10:33

Good morning to you all, AND GREAT NEWS JANE <3 <3 <3

The little bu@@er had us all worried. I bet he was being nosey somewhere and either the door shut on it's own or by the owner, without knowing was in there. Can you still get away for a few days?? I expect the cattery will still be able to have him.

Mel, there is talk of Conrad keeping Lola. and one of the three pups. The big white one is always hungry, and oncexed, lays on his back with his legs in the air. All of them are quiet mobile, staggering around their little BEDROOM.We all take turns in giving them a cuddle, while Lola looks on. What a great little dog she is. Conrad keeps winding Ros up, by saying he will get a PASSPORT for one of the puppies and have it flown over and delivered to our home address. Eos is very insistent that she does not want another DOG. !!!

Had an Email from Kerry this morning with a photo of Alexander siting with the trein set that we bought him. We also spoke to him on Whatsap last night.

We had our BBQ last night. Conrad cooked Prawns, Octopus, burgers, Asparagus spears in butter, cold new potato's, coleslaw . He even bought me pack of "OLD SPECKLED HEN" saying because I had been good boy, he had treated me. I'm always a good boy lol lol

Glad to see you arrived home safely Ann. I suppose the traffic was busy south bound because of the bank holiday.

We are going out later for lunch. Conrad is again winding Ros up by saying, he will have a job finding a restaurant that do "SUNDAY ROASTS" She doesn't want a roast anyway. I Expect we will find a nice place on a beech somewhere, where we can have a good selection of Sea Foods, piallia (sp) Steaks etc.

I haven't heard anything regarding my sister. So I can only think. "That no news is good news" I will send the boys another message on their FB pages and wait for a reply.

Lovely bright sunny day here. with just a very light breeze. Should be good for a stroll along the promenade either before or after lunch.

Did G & H get away alright for their weekend break. And I hope they are coming to terms with their loss. xxxx

Have a good day all of you and no over eating and drinking. YOU can leave that to ME !!!!

We've seen two baby bobs under the bird feeder this morning. They must be from the hedge robin and his wife. Shed Robin has'nt been taking more than one worm at a time to his wife so I don't knowif they have made another nest or not or if she has laid and more eggs.

Glad you'r ehaving a great time Frank and enjoying the food and DRINK. Are you still sleeping well?

Frank

Frank Report 26 May 2019 11:51

Mel, I slept like a log last night, I was in bed and settled down long before Ros came in, and I didn't feel her get into bed. It was 8.30 before I woke this morning.

Just heard that my sister is back inHospital. She was taken last Wednesday very dehydrated. She has been on a drip since. Paul was just going into the hospital, and will leave a message on his FB page when he comes out.

Ros is all showered and dressed sitting in the sunshine. I am now going to have my shower and get dressed. Just shorts and short sleeve shirt, with a light pair of canvas shoes.

See you later.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 26 May 2019 12:11

glad you got home with no trouble Annx I am surprised that you didn't get gridlocked around Gloucester as it is the Tall Ships Festival which the world and his wife seems attracted to. did you stop at Gloucester services for lunch? We sometimes go there just to buy meat as their butchers is great.

Good afternoon Gill and all. Gill it is raining very light showers here so OH is in and out of the rain doing jobs. I am not gardening today, trying to rest my foot. pleased your back is better.

Frank, I am envying you the sea food lunch at the beach. Your barbecue sounds nice. We had a barbecue as well but just chicken thighs, sausages and salad. It was very nice though and the first of the year.

Mel, what a shame your journal didn't turn out as well as you hoped, it was a lot of work as well. Will you try again?
