Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 May 2019 23:54

O another poorly threadateer. Sorry you twisted your ankle AnnG. Not something you want to do when you do so much walking. I had a look at that castle you went to today online. There's quite a lot of it left. I think thye have used that in some films. I love castles but oh is'nt interested in them.

I am off to bed soon so see you all inthe morning and hope you all have a good sleep tonight.

Night night.

Morning all,

Another lovely day for AnnG and T to be away. Hope the ankle is better this morning and you are able to walk ok today.

Also thinking of Gill's mum and hoping they can find the problem today so she can make a speedy recovery.

Oh is outside fishing all the beech flowers out of my pond. I hope he dos'nt chuck out any baby fish as they have been laying eggs again this year.

I have the towels to put on the line so I better do that now.

Frank Report 15 May 2019 10:55

Good morning Mel, and all,

Banning that couldn't have been nice going down on your ankle. I hope it doesn't stop you getting out and about. xx

Heres hoping your Mum doesn't need any more treatment Gill. BUT I know these STENTS do a wonderful Job. Eos has been a different woman since she had her's done.

I have been trying toybook table for Fathers day for Harvey, Lewis and us two. I thing it would be easier to get to see the POPE. After going through everything on line, and expecting them to confirm the booking. It came up with" OPPS" theres a problem. So I rang them, everything is automated, you have to use your keypad to place the Number of dinners, the date and the time. Again there was a problem at their end, so I have given up.

Mandy I am sure if you come to work in a MINI SKIRT, you will get promotion to Private SECRETARY ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) I am most grateful for your help <3 <3

Who's got any plans for today ?? I have showered, shaved and dressed. Ros is taking me for a haircut before our holiday, and I must get an Anniversary card for the 3rd June. FOURTY ONE YEARS. without a cross word. (who am I kidding) but we both still say "I LOVE YOU"

Does anyone know when Jane is coming home.??I do hope that H is feeling a little better having her mum with her this week.. Bless them <3 <3 <3 and HUGS.

Another incredible day here. Wall to wall sunshine, with a little breeze. After we have done our choirs I will take Ros to lunch. One of the pubs we use have a 25% of food. So I printed the voucher. We also need to go to Towcester to look at a garden ornament that Ros thinks will be good for Simon's Birthday on 19th July He will be 54. Where have all those years gone. No wonder I an feeling OLD ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hi all

Mum's coming out of hospital today so I'm just waiting for a call to go and pick her up. She has to go back as an out patient to have an angiogram, but for now the doctors are happy to let her go home. I can't tell you how relieved I am, it's been quite a stressful couple of days.

Hope all is going well for Hannah, sending hugs to her and Jane <3 <3

Jane didn't say when she was coming home Frank, she said she had an open train ticket so she could stay with Hannah for as long as she is needed.

Has your OH finished fishing all the leaves out yet Mel, hope he didn't catch any fish along the way, or fall in. We have our water feature on at the moment, we like to put it on when the sun is on it or the water will turn green and we'd have to empty it, there's a lot of water in it so it would take a while to do. So far switching it on is working and the water is still clear. OH is cutting the lawns while the weather is nice, it's suppose to be going colder again at the weekend.

It sounds like Colin's been busy painting the fences Mandy, they'll look lovely when they're finished.

I'll take a proper look at all the emails you sent today Mel, I've been so worried about mum when I did look at them nothing stuck in my head. Thanks you for all your help. I was wondering if there is no marriage maybe those ones passed away in infancy. I'll take a look and see what I can find. I'm hoping to have another go at his tree today while I wait for mum's discharge papers to be done.

Phones ringing, have to go

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 May 2019 13:10

So pleased mum is aloud home Gill which means they are satified with her progress. She'll feel better once she's home in her own surroundings.

Hope Anng is ok as we hav'nt heard from her this morning and the ankle is'nt hurting too much so they can carry on enjoying their time away. Don't eat too many scones and cream AnnG.

Sending love to Jane and Hannah and (((hugs))) and XXXXXX <3 <3 <3

AnninGlos Report 15 May 2019 14:09

Good afternoon, a beautiful day here sunshine and light cloud and, down on the coast a breeze which means it is a bit cooler than where we have been.
We drove to Bedgealert through beautiful tree lined lanes that ran by a river. When we got there we parked and had a coffee then went on a two mile walk along a pretty river to where the Ffestiniog railway crossed the river and back. We got to the rail crossing just as the steam train came across. We had thought about going on this train but it is so expensive. Near the river is a grave that is of Prince Llewyn’s faithful dog.
We next drove to a free NT car park and walked a short distance up to a viewpoint where there was the most wonderful and unusual seat carved in
The shape of a dragon.

Foot still feels bruised and stiff but I have been using Volterol and that seems to have helped. I used my walking pole today as well and that helped too.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 May 2019 14:37

So the foot has'nt put you off walking about then so thats good. Sounds a lovely place and don't you just love the new beech leaves on the trees with the sun shining through them. Really beautiful. We have a tree lined road near us and its always nice to drive through that. I have tried to take pictures of it in the past but the camera never captures the magical look of it.

Gillx

Gillx Report 15 May 2019 15:04

It sounds like you've had a great time out AnnG, pity it costs so much so go on the steam train though. The seat in a shape of a dragon sounds wonderful. Hope your foot eases soon.

I've just read all your get well wishes to mum and she said to say thank you, we brought her here for a cuppa. We're taking her home now then going to do a bit of shopping for her. Mum's friend is calling around to see her this afternoon so that'll be nice for her.

Well, I'd better go everyone is waiting for me.

Gillx Report 15 May 2019 17:41

Just got back so I'm going to sort dinner out now. I feel like I haven't stopped lately, I think I'll be having another early night tonight. I love tree lined roads they look so beautiful.

Jane Report 15 May 2019 18:13

Afternoon Everyone
I have just wizzed through some posts as I didnt take my lap top with me. I am sorry you have had that awful worry about your Mum Gill, but am glad to see she is home again now.

Ouch AnnG your ankle sounded painful. You have been good to be able to walk all that way on it.I bet the walking pole helped take the pressure off it a bit. Ankle injuries are a right b*****.

Hannah and i didnt do much but we did go up to the little Garden Centre at Ally Pally and had a mosey around there and had a bit of lunch .We then went right up the top and sat in the sunshine looking out over the London Skyline. Hannah looks so sad and tears flow a lot :-( It is just so hard to see her like this and other than a hug and a cuddle and an ear there is nothing else I can do to help her. Gareth is being such a rock even though he is grieving too.He just wants to comfort Hannah.
Us and Gareths parents are paying for them to go away for the BH weekend .So they have booked a lovely quiet place in Suffolk.I think it is Woodbridge so Aldeburgh and Southwold are very near by .They love the coast. It is the least we can do for them.

Frank you will be off any day now. I can't remember how long you are going for.Is it 2 or 3 weeks? You will enjoy yourselves with all the nice sunshine and seeing Harveys dog and little pups :-D

I bet your case must be packed too now Ann :-DI know the weather doesnt look too clever for this weekend but hopefully it will pick up again for you.Fingers crossed your back will be ok sat in the car for that long journey.
My sister and Larry are off to Spain tomorrow for a week and then us next Friday to Yorkshire. Everyone is on the move :-D

I am having a real problem with scalp psoriasis at the moment and it is driving me potty.I think it must be all the stress that has caused to to flare up :-S It is so difficult not to keep scratching at it.
H&G are coming on Friday night. They have a Christening to go to at the weekend, which am sure is not going to be easy :-(. I have booked us all in for lunch on Saturday down at the Red Lion in Cranford . James will be here too as he said he wont go away to Jess this weekend as he hasnt seen H&G since 'it happened' and he he wants to see his Sister.More tears then I think. It will be the same too when Hannah sees her Dad :-(. Good job I have a plentiful supply of tissues!.

I am still not feeling too chatty if you know what I mean . It all feels a bit of an effort still, but I will try at least once a day to post :-)

I meant to say Frank, I am sorry your Sister is as she is. It must be pretty miserable for her and so hard for her Sons. I agree too with you and think it would be the best and kindest thing is she was just to pass away in her sleep. That is how I would like to go if I was in her situation.
I see it will be your Anniversay when you are away. You have reminded me now to get a card for Chris as we shall be away for our Anniversary too.Ours is the 30th .You have a good few more years on us. I think we are 38years.

I know I have not commented on so many posts and am sorry. Please let me know if I have missed anything important. I would hate to think anyone things I am ignoring :-S

Annx Report 15 May 2019 19:30

Evening All,

Another nice, even hotter day here. I was like wilted lettuce till it started to cool down.

That's good they have discharged your mum Gill. They must be pretty happy with her to do that and the angiogram will pinpoint anything with the stents I expect.

We stayed just up the Conway road at Beddgelert about 9 years ago AnnG. We did go on the train for a trip as it was just after OH had pneumonia and I didn't want him to do too much driving on that holiday. I expect prices have gone up a lot since then though. We like it there too and where we stayed the living quarters were all upstairs to enjoy the views. It's good your ankle is no worse and I also find those walking poles a boon, especially on uneven footpaths. At least your ankle hasn't stopped you getting around thank goodness.

I hope the baby fish are still all in your pond Mel, especially as they like to hide among anything floating like the flowers. I remember the Swallows building a nest last year and making lots of mess! You won't be wanting that again!

I saw the surgeon this morning and he is delighted with my progress. He asked me how I felt about continuing as I am for another 4 months, and then seeing me again, which was what I'd hoped he would say, as the lighter I am the better. I asked what the wait was once on his list and it is only 2 months so not that long. I would rather have the surgery in the winter anyway when there is nothing needing doing outside. So, after celebrating with a choc ice I am back to healthy meagre rations!! :-D OH was getting concerned about an unexpected roadworks hold up on the way back where we couldn't turn off anywhere, as he had a meeting at 1,30pm in the city, but when we got home, he got a phone call to say the meeting was cancelled!

I have done a load more washing and must go and water the pots and greenhouse now.

Good to know you are back Jane and safe and sound. I can now send your parcel if I catch the van tomorrow morning.

We have all been thinking about Hannah and Gareth and know its not easy getting over something like this but they are young and have each other and they sound such a nice couple and very much in love. <3 <3

Chicken crown tonight with carrots brocc baby sweetcorn and short beans and new pots. That should fill him up.

Annx Report 15 May 2019 20:16

Oh I forgot to send my post and so missed Jane popping in! I think the main thing Jane is that H knows you are there for her if and when she needs you. That will help her recover, as will having such a caring, supportive husband. I think the little break to get away will help them both too. What a nuisance the psoriasis has flared up on your scalp. It must be stress as you say, but the itchiness must be awful. I hope it starts to settle soon. Does the heat make it worse only I just had a vision of you with a bag of frozen peas on your head?? :-)

Yes, a few of us seem to be going away. I must admit I like May holidays with all the flowers and not too hot. It doesn't look such good weather for us though and that always makes it harder to know what to pack. :-S OH does his packing in half an hour, but as he always says, he is the only man on the beach dressed for the office!!!! lol.

SuffolkVera Report 15 May 2019 20:44

Good evening all

It’s good that your Mum could come home Gill and reassuring that the doctors thought she was well enough. I am sure it is a comfort to her to have you reasonably close by.

Hannah and Gareth will appreciate the time away Jane. It’s probably the best thing you can do for them at the moment. It’s good that there are tears - tears are healing. Sorry to hear about your psoriasis. Hopefully it will improve soon.

I am pleased your ankle injury isn’t too bad AnnG and you have been able to get out and about in the good weather.

It sounds as though you are also doing well Ann as your surgeon is so pleased with you. Don't have too many of those choc ices. Now I just fancy a choc ice....

You must be concerned about your sister Frank. It’s very sad but it would be best for her and her family if she could just quietly slip away in her sleep. I hope at least that she is not in any pain. I haven’t had time to read your life story that Mandy kindly emailed to me but I have saved it in a separate file so it won’t accidentally get deleted and hope to read it soon.

Your son’s fire drill went well Mandy. It’s good going to get everyone out so quickly. Isn’t it sad that children and staff also have to practice anti-intruder drill?

I hope your OH’s back is OK Mel. Did he manage to clear your pond of leaves and flowers without clearing it of fish?

My back is still giving me some problems so OH planted up the rest of my troughs for me and I couldn’t resist another couple of plants for the garden so he put those in for me. I have one more spot in the garden that needs filling and then I must stop buying plants. I wouldn’t mind but I took a load of cuttings last summer and autumn so that I wouldn’t have to buy so much this year. I’m sure our garden is expanding :-)

We had tickets for a film at our little local theatre tonight but I decided my back wouldn’t stand a couple of hours sitting still in one of their seats. We were picking our tickets up at the box office so I rang them to say we wouldn’t be there. They emailed me a couple of hours ago to say that they had resold them so I will get my money back. That will help pay for all these plants I keep buying.

Have a peaceful night everyone.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 15 May 2019 21:41

Good to see you on here Jane but just check in when you feel like it. For you it is double the grieving. Your own grief for your little one and your grief for H as you know you can’t make it better as mums do. One thing is to let her talk about the baby, you all need to do that. She will find that people avoid the subject as if it didn’t happen. When something similar happened to our son and his wife they had a cremation/funeral, just for them we didn’t go. But there is a memorial stone in the churchyard which was/is a great comfort to visit.
I hope your psoriasis soon clears up and that H and G will feel a bit better after their break. As Vera says tears are good. Hopefully they are strong and have each other so will get through this horrible time.

Annx difficult to know what to pack. I can only suggest layers I have camisoles, T shirts, long sleeved sweat shirts and sweaters, looks like our weather may not be good next week too.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 May 2019 09:44

Good morning all,

We have another nice day here today and I am hoping to go in the garden and do some more work if my back will let me.

There's washing to go on the line first and feed the girls.

I am still worried about Anne and hope there is nothing wrong.

Jane will be looking forward to have H and G for the weekend. It will be nice to have the family together for lots of hugs and kisses and there's bound to be a few tears but time will heal and I am sending best wishes to you all. <3 <3 <3

Now I must get on as I have to catch the post van.

Frank Report 16 May 2019 10:34

Good morning Mel, and All,

Haven't really read the posts, as there are so many ;-) ;-) ;-). Glad to see you hone Jane, and good that you and G M & D are sending them away for a few days. It will do them good.

Pleased your Mum is home Gill. I am sure she will be more comfortable in her own surroundings. Give her my best wishes. xx

Annin G. When we visited North Wales, we stayed in a cottage close to the railway that went to Port Maddoch (sp) also a Slate mine, which we went down. What an experience. How these men worked down there I will never know. The part we went in was the size of WEMBLEY ARENA. !!! We just couldn't get over the size of it, and how the echo's went on forever. lol lol

Ros has miss lain the padlocks to the cases, so s going to pop and get some. She bought me a new Electric Razor for xmas. and we can't find the lead to the charger. She will take it with her and try to buy another. I have bought THREE on Ebay, but they have all had to go back, WRONG SIZE. :-P :-P :-P

Jan rang yesterday, she is still in Spain. She warned us that the DOG doesn't like MEN other than Conrad. A builder chap came the other day, and she tried to bite him. !! I said to Ros if she try that with me, I will get her a muzzle. I couldn't stand that for three weeks.!!! I will just ignore her and see if she comes to me on her terms. lol

Haircut done, and we went on to eat. My Haddock wasn't very nice so I complained. It had been fried too much and was as dry as old bones. They bought me another, which was lovely, and offered us a free sweet for the inconvenience. Rod had a Syrup Sponge and custard. Me not liking sweets so much, settled for another PINT.

Last night I slept for almost TEN HOURS, apart from a wee. I suppose as I haven't been sleeping too well, it just took over last night. I am walking around like a ZOMBIE at the moment. A shower should bring me to life. lol
