Good morning all,
Dull dismal day here, very overcast, so I expect rain at anytime soon.
Glad you had a nice break AnnG. Is the cottage somewhere you have been before, or is it a first venture. Whatever it is, you certainly enjoyed your stay.
Mel this business with your prescriptions is not on. What a journey to get them. Surely there has to be a better arrangement than this. !!! So typical, the one tablet you need most is out of stock. Eos tries to order more often when she thinks she is running low, but often they say, SHE IS TOO EARLY, and won't do them.
Ros has been on the phone THREE TIMES to the Dentist. "Leave a message etc etc" we will get back to you. I finally rang, pressed the correct key to speak reception, and still got the ANSWER PHONE. I left a curt message, and someone rang her back soon after. She has just gone for her check up. !!
No lying on the lounge floor didn't seem to do any good, in fact I think, it aggravated even more. :-P :-P :-P. It still feels uncomfortable this morning. I was in bed early reading, and settled by 10.00 pm. Didn't feel madam come to bed. Was awake three times in the night. and up by 6.30 am. COT and a read until Ros. showed at 9.30. I don't know how she can sleep so long.
Not sure what we will do for a meal today. We haven't been out this week, so I might treat her later this afternoon. It will save me cooking. ;-) ;-) ;-) And get me out from the four walls. :-D :-D :-D
I hope Jane and family are feeling a little better this morning. My thoughts are with them. <3 <3 <3 and HUGS, Jane.

Back and it is another 18 mile juirney as I clocked it to make sure. The good thing is I have ordered next months scripts when I picked them up like I used to at the local surgery so they should be at the shop on the 31st of May.
Frank they won't let us order them early either so Ros is not alone there.
Well thats messed my morning up and all I have done is feed the chickens and do one lot of washing.

Afternoon all,
Dull here today and it's just started to rain ,yesterday i went to Norwich with DIL she wanted to get the children some new clothes ,Chelsea and Katie both have Adventure trips away from home for a few days with the school and both need waterproof clothes so DIL usually sends then away with their old clothes as they always come back muddy and wet . We have Katie here tonight for the weekend so i won't be around much .
Hope AnnG has a safe journey home with no hold ups ,it sounds as if you have had a lovely relaxing time beside the sea .
Oh Mel what a to do with the tablets ,fingers crossed they have sorted it and they will be ready for you at the end of the month ,it's still a trek though for you to get them .
Gill surely the new neighbours wouldn't be having carpets laid if they weren't moving in or moving from where they are now to move in and then move again ?
Oh dear Frank you really shouldn't have lifted that compost you might have hurt your ribs again ,hope you soon feel better . Hope Ros got on ok with her check up at the dentist .
Love and hugs for Jane and family <3 <3

Hallo all
Dull, grey and none too warm here today. We’ve had a couple of short showers and are forecast more rain for later. There’s also a possibility of frost tonight so I shall have to cover one or two plants up.
I hope Ann is having a good journey back and there are no delays and hold-ups
Mel, I can’t believe what a hoo-hah it has been getting your medication. How would you manage if you weren’t able to drive? I hope it works better next month.
It will be interesting to see whether the new owners next door do move in Gill. Why would they bother laying carpets if they are not going to live there? That house must have cost them so much money with all the problems they have had that I reckon they will make a loss if they put it up for sale straightaway.
Our next door neighbour is getting quite depressed about his house sale as his buyers are really delaying things now. I hope everything goes through soon for his sake as he might lose the place he wants to buy. His buyers sound as though they are “difficult” people. I hope they don’t move in and spoil the friendly atmosphere in our little Close. Still, I mustn’t prejudge; they might turn out to be lovely people.
I hope your back eases up soon Frank. You must be careful. You want to be fit for your trip to Spain and for making a fuss of those puppies. I’d love to see a picture of them. Hope Ros got on OK at the dentist.
I like Norwich Mandy but I haven’t been there in quite a while. My son and his ex lived there for a few years and 2 of his girls were born there so we used to go frequently years ago. Now it’s just an occasional visit but I always enjoy it.
Over the last couple of days OH has cleaned out all the gutters and given them a good wash and now they are gleaming white again instead of a sort of mottled grey :-) I finished cleaning the conservatory and had a good dust and vacuum right through the house so I am feeling very smug at the moment.
I am still sleeping badly. Last night I decided at 3 am to go to another room and read or listen to the radio. Getting out of bed I knocked a table lamp over. It wasn’t damaged but it made a heck of a noise in the middle of the night. OH didn’t even stir:-|. If it had been me crashing to the floor he probably wouldn’t have woken.
Jane ad family, keeping you in my thoughts <3 <3

Afternoon Everyone,
Colder and dull here now and a shower of much needed rain earlier. The neighbour with the new caravan went away yesterday and someone has been and laid two rows of slabs where the caravan stands. OH was chatting to the neighbour opposite that had the motorhome till recently and we all think it is a silly place to park the caravan. It's at right angles to their drive so it will run off the slabs onto the lawn in order to get it turned tightly onto the drive and to put it back, will be more difficult to hitch up there and then it's the furthest it could be for carrying stuff to pack it each time and you have to walk over the lawn which will be wet at times. Also, parking it down the side in front of their garage would mean it's easier to reach with the hose for washing and closer to the electrics for charging and our bungalow would hide it from the rest of the close and would be thieves. Still, it's up to them if they want to make life harder for themselves! ;-)
Frank, I would get your back checked out with the doc as it sounds like it could be more than a strain. OH has to be careful lifting things like bags of compost or bark chippings. Do you have a sack barrow you could use and planks you could slide the bags down from the boot onto it? You can't be too careful. I hope it starts to improve soon as it is miserable when your back hurts and you can't get comfy. I had to smile at Conrad and his growing family!!! lol. They will be a handful so it's good Jan will be going to help out with them.
Gill, peace and quiet for you at last then! Make the most of it! The new neighbour sounds like he may not be selling........unless the carpets are to spruce the floors up for selling?
Oh Mel, it's a worry isn't it when you have trouble getting your prescriptions and now all that travelling too which really isn't on. Ours often don't have all our items and we have to go back. Brexit means there is stockpiling going on as well which is creating shortages. We do get 2 month's tablet supply each time, but at one time I used to get 3 months of my thyroid medication which was even better. I hope that your next tablets will be there as they have said.
We need to get Sky in to sort out our boxes as all the pictures have gone from our recordings page and one of the mini boxes keeps disconnecting from the main box at night and you have to switch it off and back on which doesn't work all the time either. I asked OH to check the mini box in the other bedroom to see if that works ok before I ring, so off he went and couldn't even get the tv to switch on!! Then there was a search for the batteries which are very small ones. He was exasperated that those didn't work either, so I told him to try some more batteries as they were probably very old now. Still no joy so I suggested the plug fuse on the telly might have gone. He then put the remote on the bed to go and find fuses and noticed another remote on the bed..........he'd only been using the remote to the telly in the lounge hadn't he!!!!!!!! lol.
We bought some more plants for the pots and garden this morning so the greenhouse tops are full now. :-)
One of my beading friends had made a lovely little picture for the friend who had lost her 20 year old cat a fortnight ago. It had his photo with embellishments around and a little message above that said 'Some angels have wings, Others have whiskers'. It made her quite teary although she loved it.
Mandy old clothes sound best for the children's adventure trips! I used to have to change into old play clothes when I got in from school.......do children still do that now? They don't seem to do as much outdoor playing nowadays from what you read so perhaps don't get so dirty.
Looking forward to seeing AnnG's holiday pics. I hope she has a good jourrney home after her lovely break.

Well we are home and unpacked and the first load of washing in the drier. We got home around 2pm but had quite a long stop at Street outlet centre where money was spent in M&S of course. We had out picnic lunch there too in the car then drove straight home. Out journey was fine, busy bit no hold ups at all. We were glad we were not travelling South as the M5 in several places resembled one long car park. there were so many jams heading South West for the bank holiday. goodness knows why they bother really as it is such a short holiday and the children, I think, are not off school. It was a great break, really enjoyed it, now have to start doing all the things that have to be done before we go to Wales next weekend. A week in Criccieth followed by five days in cemaes Bay Anglesey. and, yes we have two weeks in Lanzarote in September.
there are a lot of posts to answer and little time for now but I will answer a few. As you can see the journey was trouble free.
Frank we have been going there every year but one since 2010. Theya re such lovely people.
Mel, Vera has a point. What if you were unable to drive, how would you get the scripts then. It really is not on.
Gill a message for Sandra......
Sandra, thank you so much for the beautifully made thank you card. I am so pleased that you liked the different stickers and, yes I know you like cats which is why I chose them for your card xxxx

Sorry to hear your lay down on the living room floor didn't do anything to help your back Frank, have you spoken to a doctor about it yet? Good on you helping Ros get her dentist appointment, it's really bad they didn't get back to her sooner.
What a palaver getting your scrips Mel, let's hope things improve soon.
Did you DIL buy anything nice for the children Mandy? I bet Chelsea and Katie can't wait to go on their Adventure trips, I hope the weather isn't to bad for them. Have a lovely time with Katie over the weekend.
Fancy your OH using the wrong remote Ann, mind you it's easily done isn't it? I hope Sky can sort everything out for you soon. I knocked our scart lead the other day when I was polishing, but didn't realise I'd done it until we came to watch the TV and all the colour had gone strange, luckily it's not the first time I've done it so it was just a case of pushing the lead back in, but I remember us trying all sorts the first time it happened and it wasn't until a great deal later that we thought of the scart lead, so I know how your OH felt. I find if I have working batteries in one remote and need to check with a different one that doesn't have live batteries, I use the ones from one remote in the other then put them back again once I've finished until I can go the shops and buy more. The smaller ones we never seem to have any in, unlike the AA ones, we always seem to have those.
It's sound like you've had fun buying lots of new plants. The big Red Robin we moved down the bottom of the garden that was losing it's leaves, is covered in lovely white flowers, I didn't know they flowered and it looks so pretty now. I'm glad I didn't cut it back like another one, which ended up in the front garden.
Sorry to hear you're still not sleeping very well Vera, did going into the other room help? I bet that was a shock when you knocked the lamp over, fancy your OH not waking up, good job it wasn't you falling over isn't it? I hope you have nice neighbours, I worry to about the people who may move in next door, they say one thing then do the opposite, so it's hard to build any trust with them.
Yes, I was thinking the same about them having carpets laid and whether they had decided to move in after all. There's been some work being done on their shed today, I know he wanted some shelves putting up so maybe it was that. They weren't noisy, in fact I didn't even know there was anyone there until I went outside and heart the the sawing and sanding. Mum called around earlier as her cleaner told her we called around yesterday while she was out. We've been watching a coal tit back and forth all day today, we think he's feeding his chicks, he hasn't stopped all day, or her, I don't know the difference between he's and she's :-S It's been lovely to watch though.

Frank, thanks for sending the pics of the puppies........they are adorable! The mum is a sweet little dog and I would find it hard to part with her if I was Conrad, but I know sometimes you just have to do what's best for the dog. :-( I see at least one pup has the sandy bits over the eyes like mum and fancy that one being all white! Mum does look very protective in one or two shots doesn't she but she's looking after them and they all look good. I wonder what the dad looked like? They are going to be very active by the time you see them aren't they! lol.
Did Ros escape with no treatment needed at the dentist?

I was going to PM you if she hadn't heard from you today as she didn't want you to go to bed wondering if she had forgotten you. She's so pleased both you and AnnG received the cards and little notes inside, she always likes to make cards to show her appreciation for presents she receives. She was showing her gran, (my mum) everything both you and AnnG gave her when she visited this morning. Thanks for letting her know they arrived safely <3 <3 <3

Morning all
Bright and sunny today but not very warm, the little coal tit is back taking food so we assume he's feeding babies. The Starlings are on the feeder to, so it's nice to see all the birds back after not seeing many over the last six months with the workmen being around and it being so noisy.
I thought I'd finished the first section of OH's tree but when I check through it last night I've missed a few people so I'm going to see if I can complete them today then move onto the next sibling. OH is really pleased with all the work I'm doing for him and I've managed to find a few of them on social media so he can actually see what they look like.
He's so excited at my findings, he thought it was only his close family who had survived. Going all the way back only one child survived (OH's family line) which is why he thought there was only those people, but then we forgot about a Will I was given by his late uncle, so when going back to the early 1800's there were a number of other people on a different line, which are the ones I'm doing for him now.
I'm really enjoying it, although I've just had to do a pile of "Smith's" which wasn't so enjoyable, they were completed last night, so hopefully the rest won't take me so long to do. So that's my day planned, sorting the rest out.
What's everyone else up to today?

My oh my, haven't you all been busy chatting.
GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL,
Welcome home AnnG, glad you had a lovely time. Yes it is nice if you find a nice place to stay year in and year out. Plus of course the people you stay with know you as well. We my EX, my Sister and her husband use to go to POTTER HIGHAM on the Norfolk Broards, and always stayed at the same B & B. The owner would always have a good supply of worms ready for our fishing days out.
Will someone be kind enough to send the doggie photo's to VERA. She has asked for them, and I don't have her eMail
Ros has her two front teeth at the top, working loose. She can't have a bridge, snd WON'T have a DENTURE. The only option is implants, and the dentist has quoted £2,500.00 EACH. So of course I am looking around the WEB. I have found one in Milton Keynes. That do them for £32.00 per implant per month. How long over I do not know yet, and which tooth that covers I don't know either. I will leave it to Ros to find out. IT's HER TEETH. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Boy oh Boy, did we have some rain last night. I took Ros out for a bite to eat, and it rained the whole time we were out, and continued when we got home. The traffic everywhere was snarled up, and backed up for MILES. The road into the village was jamed packed, for THREE MILES. That was I expect from traffic trying to get away from the build up on the A 45 and M1. Would you believe the restaurant had all the windows open, it was like an ICE BOX. I asked for them to be closed, why on earth they were open with it being so cold, and wet, I just don't know. :-| :-| :-| :-|
The girls, Carolyn and Ros have gone to Tesco for some bits and pieces. Then Ros has her nail appointment at Midday. Then they are going to Alderton a village not to far away, for it's open day. So I won't see much of Madam today. I don't think my back will let me walk to the pub/club, it's still giving me bit of jip. !!! So I will just rest and read my book.
Mel you have the patients of JOB, with all this fluffing about with your medication. They must try to get a better supply chain worked out. As everyone is saying. WHAT IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE. ??
Gill, it would appear that the NEW Neighbours are moving in, if they are having carpets laid. Why would they if they aren't ??
Thinking of our Jane with <3 <3 <3 <3. I do hope she managed a good night sleep.
Going to sort out some toast and My Mate. and a coffee. Have a great day all and stay dry. if you can !!!

Morning Frank and Gill and All,
We have sunshine and deep blue sky with big white clouds in it this morning and they are travelling north west.
I have enough eggs to deliver this morning to Em next door and then go and pick my paper up at the shop.
In future I have to order my scripts online and can pick them up from the shop up the road. They are delivered there twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday. The only thing is I have to list everything by name for myself and oh so I have saved the email so I can copy and paste it. Some of the names of the drugs are really weird and I don't want to get the spellings wrong.

Afternoon All,
Sunny with a cold breeze here now.
Mel, that sounds a better system for you with your prescriptions. Hopefully there won't be any glitches now. Ours are fussy about ordering in advance but you need to when you are away and also to allow for when they don't have everything and you have to go back. We usually have to go back for something with our pharmacy as well. Now they just need to get you a surgery that is closer! :-|
Gill, I have been working on my OH's tree this past week following contact from a DNA match for OH. I got an email from him this morning thanking me for my 'great work' in solving two mysteries. He is passing the info on to two people he knows with ancestry trees so they can correct them. He is a Co-ordinator for several DNA groups and he and OH share gt gt grandparents on his father's side. I bet you are the same, but once I advance a bit with FH, I want to keep going till I get stuck again!! I think I will be doing some more later today or tomorrow. It's nice you are getting the birds back in your garden now all the noise and disturbance has stopped. I bet Sandra keeps looking out for them again now. I have never seen Red Robin flowers and our small, related Tiny Robin has never flowered yet.
We did our bit with voting yesterday and it came out ok for our area so that was good! Not a soul in there when we went though so it must get very boring for them just sitting there.
AnnG, you will just have time to get washing and ironing done, weed the garden and be off again then!! Is the next trip to somewhere you haven't stayed before? OH got our cases down this morning so I can start packing as I like to get the basic stuff packed early on.
Vera I hope you slept better last night. I woke up at 4.00am and couldn't get off again, yet I've slept better lately.
Good your back is improving Frank, but do be careful not to do anything to aggravate it. I would like to have implants when I need them, but can't, so Ros is lucky to have the option. The younger generations are lucky to have had things like flouride toothpaste and I expect most of them will keep their teeth longer than us.

Afternoon all. Annx when do you go away? Is it this time you are going to Cornwall?
No we have never been to either Criccieth or Cemaes so we are looking forward to it. Have been to North Wlaes and Anglesy briefly many years ago but latterly have just been to South Wales as from here it is more convenient.
Frank we got to know the owners of the cottage well because the first few years OH used to play golf with them both when they were members of the local club.
Gill I forgot to say to Sandra how neat her letter is if I hand wrote a letter you would have trouble reading it. computers make you lazy with handwriting.
Well today we have done the weekly shop to get food in, done a load of washing and drying, OH has cut the lawn and tidied the jungle up, he also changed four light switches because our others were really dirty and old fashioned. I have done some admin and am about to do the monthly house accounts. My to do list has quite a few ticks on it which is always good to see.
And I was very pleased to note I only put on half a pound while we were away!!! :-D :-D

It's a blustery afternoon here, with rain showers. Ros has decided not to go to the open village. I don't blame her, with this wind being so chilly. She was a long time having her nails done, due the the fact that the woman before her was late coming for her appointment. I was beginning get concerned as she was gone for over TWO HOURS.
I have been reading my book, and just put on the T.V. to see what was on, and blow me, there was SPURS V BOURNEMOUTH. I caught the 2nd half. Two Spurs player got sent off for bad tackles, and it turned into a bit of kick and run. The Ref was booking players all the time, so not very enjoyable. Bournemouth won 1-0 in stoppage time.
We have had some nice crusty rolls for lunch, with fresh Ham that Ros bought this morning. Very nice too.
Roast loin of pork tomorrow, I will do the veg etc, either later this evening, or tomorrow. I do like to have Sunday free if possible, then I can sit and read the paper without interruptions. SOME HOPE. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I see more plants have arrived down the drive, I will have to put a ban on them before long. lol lol
We didn't have a vote in this area, I don't know why.

It sounds like you've done really well with your OH's tree Ann. You're right once you have a lead you just keep going. I've not done much today but I suppose every little bit helps. I've just found two children for a couple but thought that wasn't many considering they married in 1924, I've always thought couple had bigger families back then. I'm not complaining though as it's less work for me to do. I tried a variation on their surname spellings just to check properly and the original two were the only once to come up on the search, so now I'm going to look for their spouses and children.
That's a good idea to copy and paste the names of the meds you need Mel, the last thing you want is to mis-spell something and end up with the wrong meds. Pleased to see you have enough eggs for Em.
That's a lot of money for Ros's teeth, good job you had a look around, you found a much better price for her now Frank. Fancy leaving all the windows open, no wonder you were freezing. I bet you were glad to be home after travelling in all that bad rain. Although the sun is out today it's really cold out there and with having hardly any clouds around I should imagine there will be some frost tonight. They did say we were having an arctic wind blowing in and boy were they right, the wind is picking up and so so cold right now.
I've passed on your message to Sandra about how neat her handwriting was and she said to say thank you AnnG <3
