I'm just off to bed having had a busy session doing my xmas cards. lol I think I can hear all your zeds so I better come back later. lol

Morning and another frosty one.

I have to have a fasting blood test today so I am sitting here without my tea!! and missing it.

It is at 9.30am so I have a bit of time to wait. Also having flu jab.

Off in a minuet so wish me luck that the nurse can find my vein this time!!

It is snowing on and off this morning,but I don't think it will come to much.I got out quick and drove down to the village with Chester .That was the first time in over 2 weeks.It is still a bit dodgy in places but we had a good mosey round the Churchyard.Red Kites flying just above us.

Mel this cold weather won't make it any easier for the nurse to get blood out of you.Do they warm your arm up first? I can help.

I am just going to have some toast and tea and will then get on with sorting this lounge out.I am in for the day now.

Very frosty again ,i just went out to go down to the shed to get a chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow nights tea as the family are coming ,and its lethal out there i started to slip and i thought blow it i'll go out tomorrow and buy a fresh chicken ,it shouldn't be as frosty tomorrow should should be ok walking out , i hate walking on the ice !!! so i'am not going out today .

Hope the nurse can find your veins ok Mel, it can make your arm really sore when they have to keep trying to find one .

We had a nice birthday tea for Katie yesterday , i did take a few photo's ,but it was a bit of a job ,every time i went to take one she looked away or the other two got in the way , as you can imagine they were so excited .
Will sort them out later and send some .

I keep looking at the tree's upstairs ,and wonder if i should start putting them up , it seems to take me ages to do ,i have one in the Lounge and one in the conservatory , its the lights that take so long ,why is it you put them away carefully ,but when you get them out they are all knotted up !!!!

We bought a real tree yesterday for out the front of the house ,£20 from homebase .

Mel OH had an appointment this morning for a blood test at 9.30, but the surgery rang to say we do not think the man who collects the blood can get through this morning so can you phone back at 10.00 and we will let you know.
So OH phoned back and the receptionest said we still don't know if he's coming but the nurse is here so just come up for 10.20,
good job OH is a quick walker as I certainly wouldn't be able to get there in such short at time.
I wonder if the nurse wasn't there this morning when she should have been and they were just telling a wee white lie to cover her absence, mind you there is still a lot of blocked roads around.

It must be lovely to have a walk these sunny cold mornings (if you can get out) in the country Jane. It's just houses here, you have to drive somewhere for us to get to the country.

Off with OH when he gets back to go into town to post my overseas cards, it s later than I usually do them but it's been too rotten to go out. also need to buy some new bulbs for my christmas tree lights.

Back and had some toast and tea.

Just stopped for a break.My lounge looks like it ready for house clearance lol.Everything is all over the place in here.I am hoovering places that haven't been hoovered in a long time.Chester is shut in the study as he tries to bite the hoover and barks and runs around shaking his toys,basically just being a nuisance.
I wonder if I will find a fortune under the cushions???

Janet the nurse at our surgery is so good I will only see her if I can. She could'nt find a vein!! Tried my left arm first but nothing was showing so tried my right and still had a job. I told her she ruptured a vein in that arm last time. Anyway she found one and ruptured it again but still took the blood. She exclaimed that I bruise very easily and I said I have ever since I have been on asprin every day. She said that should'nt make any difference. Then she gave me my flu jab in the left arm. I only felt a tiny sting. She is so good with needles. She looked up my chest xray and said there was no sign of lesions (sp) and that lungs were clear. I had also had a chest xray in 2008 when I had to go into hosp with my heart and I did'nt even remember that one!!

Cleaner coming today and I don't knowwhat to get her to do. Probably some ironing.......he he he!

Morning All,

Been trying to snow here also Jane, still a bit hazy but the clouds are starting to get blue. and the breeze is getting up.

Yesterday, I was saying, Ros was wrapping presents. I said "are you nearly finished" NO !!! I've only just started. See I don't know what's going on.

Had a Phone call from my Sister in Scotland, they have 10 inches of snow, and her daughter can't get to visit her. The Nurseing home, is very good, cleAN, WARM, PLENTY OF FOOD, AND THE HELPERS do everything for her. She is now 89 years old and paralyzed from the waist down. She keeps cheerful, but very forgetful. She can't remember being at her previous place, before Scotland.

My brother is going though a rough time, lots of pain, and can hardly sleep.
Nurse comes each day to do dressings, and says it will take months to heal.

Snap Jane, i've had a good sort out ready for the christmas tree to go up , the trouble is i get side tracked ! i started off sorting out the childrens toys which are in the corner where the tree goes ,i have put some out of the way upstairs , bet when they come they'll want to play with something i've put up there !!
Then i went into the conservatory to sort out in there.

Mel ,glad to hear all's fine with your chest Xray , bet the tea and toast went down well when you got home .

The sky has turned a funny colour ,i hope we don't get snow, hubby's working up on a Chimney today ,he's got to take it down and build it back up again .

I had a delivery of the 2nd DVD for my sister. The company, said they didn't feel it right that I should be out of pocket and replaced the "LOST" (you know my feelings, may their hands drop off) item. Ros has gone to the P.O. to send it on. She got the other yesterday again replaced F.O.C. by another Ebayer. I am yet to write to the home regarding this but I will make my feelings well known.

I was thinking of Catie this morning and sent her an Email. She has replied, that they are all fine, and Mark is now taking notice of everything. The girls are well and BIL is back at work 1 day a week.

Beautiful sunny day here now. Clear blue skys but still very cold minus 2 at the moment.

I see they have got those Gang masters in court over these imigrant workers in the fens. Did you notice they all lived in the Kettering area Jane, and were also foreigners who ran the gangs. They should by jailed, then deported from the country. We don't need that type here.

The last time I had a blood test. She had to try twice, It might be that our veins are getting more difficult to find, and what a bruise she left me with. Also when I had my flu/ swine fever injection. Felt like she used a pick axe !!!!

when OH got to the Doctors surgery this morning they told him sorry we can't do your bloods today after all, can you come back on friday.
HE HAD TO WALK ALL THE WAY COULDN'T TAKE THE CAR

OH says I was just on the phone to you and you told me to come up,
why didn't you phone me back !!! oh sorry says the girl my misteak, OH said he just shook his head and made another appointment for Friday it was just aswell he was also picking up daughter no 2 perscription at the same time.
HONESTLY I wouldn't have been that calm!!!!!!!!! lol

Mel they can never find a vein in my arm as I am that thin and I am always bruised. luckly I only go every six months unless something out the ordinary like an infection turns up.

Thanks for letting us know about Catie Frank.I often wonder how they are all doing.I'm pleased that things seem to be going a bit better for them ,although I am sure it is still very difficult.

What a disgraceful buisness Frank those wicked evil people.I did realise that some of the workers were housed in Kettering.I agree with you 100%

Just popping in quickly now .I don't seem to know what the heck I'm doing today.I start something then wander off and begin something else.I have the decorations out ,have done the garland with lights over the fire,got the wreath up out the front.the Advent Candles in the porch window.Then I started sorting out washing,so there are 2 piles around me.I can see the polish and duster on the unit.I didn't get very far with that lol.
I also ordered a pressie on the internet.Chris would just roll his eyes at me if he could see my method of doing things !

So sorry to hear about your brother Frank, what a wretched time he's having, really horrid. Glad your sister is being well looked after, at least that must be a relief, but the snow where she is sounds quite horrendous! Your poor hubby Fiona! I had similar today, but that was over posting a parcel! Our Village Shop only opens the Post Office in the mornings, but, apparently not Wednesday mornings as Wednesday is 'early closing' day!!. I didn't know this, so went down (walked a fair way) to post this pressy this am to be told that I would have to bring it back tomorrow!! Took it over to another village, who did the business and said that our P.O only had to start up the weighing machine and they could have done it for me, and thought they would have done that in the interest of customer relations?!! makes me feel that I won't go there any more, but it is useful for odds and ends Cold here but sunny, bought loads of bird seed and dog food! preparing for a siege, maybe it'll change the weather!!!!

I'm so glad your xray was clear Mel. Flippin heck, I hope they can find my veins tomorrow as I am having a fasting blood test at the hospital. A few months back I volunteered for a diabetes prevention study and the first group session is tomorrow. I have to be there, the other side of the city for 8.00am and will be there for about 4 hours. Nice thing is OH has offered to take me and then pick me up later. It will save hassle and a fortune in parking costs as you have to prepay, yet never know how long you will be there so always have to pay more than you need!!!!

Jane I have to have a clean up too.....if it was left to OH everything would be just got out and put on top of the dust!! lol I tend to walk round with a duster starting several things at once until EVERYWHERE is in a mess too. OH rolls his eyes as he has to finish one thing before starting another. Ooops...he is back inside now so I better get off here and on with some jobs. The laundry bin is spilling over for a start so on with the washer. BBL

Hurrah we have had the Snow plough down our street today ,mind you all the men in the street had a little get together yesterday and cleared as much as they could themseves, OH back out again to clear where the snow plough has left the snow in front of our drive.
No gritter as yet.

went to post some cards at the main post office but the people where standing outside the door so didn't stop OH walked to the next one and it was shut from 12 noon so will try again tomorrow.

Has'nt she grown!!! and what beautiful blue eyes. She is certainly bonny.

Washed all the kitchen windows ready for Christmas and had to ask OH to put the big one up as Di or I cannot stretch the wire enough. Then he complained about not being able to see the sky. I said I would shorten them after Christmas and he just wound them round the wire in a big bunch!! They are still ike it at the mo as I shall have to get the steps to reach them.
