Afternoon all,
What a frosty day !! only just above freezing here ,the roads are not to bad ,all gritted and clear ,there's still patches of snow about and lumps of ice where the snow had started to melt and has got packed down .

It's Katie's birthday today ,we have taken her presents down this morning ,and going back later for a birthday tea .i have taken a few photo's and i hope to get some more later .
Chelsea was excited she kept saying we're having party food !!!

Hope you have enjoyed your lunch Jane ,its a good way of trying lots of different dishes .

What a shame Frank it is so frustrating when that happens.

The parcels I was expecting today have not arrived , we also have had no post and I have only seen about 2 people all day, I think everybody is staying home keeping warm
OH says he hopes to be home about 6pm, keeping fingers crossed.

Daughter no 1 training course tomorrow has been cancelled so we won't be babysitting after all "BOO HOO. SIL never got to work today)

Going dark so I'm off to close curtains and put on lights.

Well I had a lovely lunch,but it was cold in the restaurant.I don't think I will be eating anything else tonight,and will do baked potatoes for Hannah and Chris.

I think tomorrow I will give the lounge a good clean through and move the settees around ready for the tree at the weekend.Have checked the tree lights and they seem fine thank goodness.

It is still absolutely freezing.It seems that the reason Fitz has no water upstairs is because the pipe that comes down through the horses field is frozen,his neighbours have the same problem .I hope they can get it sorted.
Just of to get a drink and a couple of paracetamol.I have a bit of a headache.I think it must be the Chinese !

What a week this has been so far- OH managed to get a train from Crew though his first choice had been cancelled so he got the next one (1 hour later) where he had to change at preston for Glasgow, when he gets to Glasgow all the trains have been cancelled, so he goes looking for a bus but finds a kind taxi driver who will drive him to Hamilton Town centre if he pays up front. so he hopefully is on his way home, what time he will arrive no one knows,

Estate agent says a lot of interest being shown in my house for sal.Had one young couple viewed it already.A foreinger is veiwing it onn Thursday and another is booked for Monday next.

I sold my previous home in 6 days to a builder who renovated it and sold it on.

I want to move to a differant location.Ellen wants to move to the next street :))

Yes Jane that was Hamilton college which is about 15 mins drive from where I live.

OH made it home about 6 .00 so I was very glad to see him. daughter no2 & boyfriend arrived at the same time then they all decided to have a pizza, so ordered it by phone and had to walk back into town to collect it as they were not doing delivery's. it didn't take them long and they were soon back.

OH is on holiday till next monday now which is good, and daughter no 2 is not going to Galashiels for her exams , the uni have told everybody not to come if they have a long drive and they can do the exam in the New Year.

Evening All,

Thicker frost this morning, so I was up and out. I went up the garden first and there was a fox in the field at the back......seemed really hungry, checking out every bit of scent. A few hopeful Magpies were following closely.....too closely I thought!! I could see it being Magpie for breakfast.

I took a few pics and have sent them. Rode around a few villages and in one field where the sheep had been fed there must have been at least 100 Crows trying to get at the trough. Hungry too I suppose.

OH has found a juniors match to watch in the city tonight. He went out wearing 6 layers and could hardly breathe he said!!! lol, lol I just noticed he could hardly bend!! T shirt, fluffy shirt, sweatshirt, bodywarmer, jacket and padded anorak. That was before the hat, scarf etc went on.

Thanks Ann for your pics, like the ones of the fox, we to get foxes especially about 3.00 in the morning, when i'm up for my walk to the bathroom, you can often see a young fox walking up the street sniffing through the plants and bushes seeing what it can find to eat, you know its been there by the footprints in the snow the next morning,

Fiona, it must be quite worrying each day till everyone gets home when the weather is like this. I used to worry about OH spending hours on the motorways with all the traffic, but with the weather you have been having you must need a survival kit in the car too.

We are lucky in that we have had no problems getting our bins emptied.....what do folk do that have no transport I wonder, especially if a collection gets missed and they only get a fortnightly collection anyway.

Mel, you have a 'knack' with Robins.....how nice to get another to feed from you.

There was a picture in the local paper tonight showing a catflap that had been clawed off a door and the wooden piece attached to the bottom edge of the door had been clawed off too. Experts say it would have been a fox or a badger that could probably smell the catfood. It happened in the city, where foxes are getting to be a problem going into people's houses.

I shall look out for it Jane!

Liz, I hope the weather is a bit better for your trip on Friday and that your OH gets sorted out with his treatment.

Just popped into to say goodnight , I've been outside to shut the gate which daughter no 2 left open when they went home . OMG it's freezing couldn't get back into the house quick enough, think it's going to be very foggy & frosty tomorrow
