Yes Frank, don't you dare go from the site. Where would we be without you to keep us on our toes and we'd miss all the emails you send.

Sheila, I think Mel is right. We are all good friends on here and I think maybe the bad experience you had with other sites has made you a bit more sensitive. I think you have been quite stressed lately too. I enjoy your stories too, even though I don't always comment, so it would be a shame if you went.

Ellen had her R knee x-rayed at hospital this morning.

The joint is twisted.She has been putting her weight on the other leg,so it's comming out in sympathy.

We have awful drizzle here at the moment.....hope it will be better for Jane today. It will be a very difficult day for Chris I think, losing a colleague.

Now you have me puzzled Elizabeth......what is a fellmonger? Your gt gt grandfather must have been quite toffy then. Is the Drayton Manor connected with the Drayton Manor Park I know?

Well, it's good to know the hospital think your OH is pleasant.....they must get some grumpy sorts to deal with at times. lol I think I will get back to Irish in OH's family as his surname is very common in Ireland!! Be jabers!!

Glad your mum seems a bit better Mel and poor little Sofia Fiona. I bet your daughter can't wait for the cavalry to arrive after her sleepless night.

Ooops, just saw your post David. Poor Ellen, that is what I found happened......you start to use the other leg more to help the bad knee and then that starts to complain!! I think it may have helped if I'd used a stick for a while to help the good leg, but I never thought to try it. What treatment have they suggested?

A Fellmonger is a trader in animal hides and skins,hence, I suppose his son being a Parchment maker! As for Drayton Manor, it is in Oxfordshire, just outside Abingdon! I suppose they must have been pretty toffy, but G. Grandfather was a second son, and he went off making and losing money!! He had 'The Swan Hotel' at Aston at one time, but that went belly up! In the end his wife (poor soul) died when my Granny was 13, and, 2 years later G.Grandpa, married his housekeeper, a lady called Hetty, much to the shock horror of the family, who, apart from my Granny, never spoke to him again!!! H finally died in London in 1924, and that was the end of that!!!!

Thanks everyone.The funeral was very sad and also funny when the vicar was talking about Jenny.She was quite a lady.She used to smoke a pipe to keep her OH company lol,and knock back a yard of ale too !!.A speaker was set up outside and a Gazebo thing put up for those not able to get in the church.I must empty my jacket pocket of soggy tissues before I put it away lol

David ,a twisted joint sounds nasty .I hope Ellen can get it sorted.

I am loving all these interesting people in the families.Nothing amazing in my lot I don't think.Although I think one of my Birth Sister's son murdered someone,and a BBrother spent time in prison for something.I think he said Robbery,but I ave a feeling it might have been armed Robbery.

My adoptive family ,quite different.My Granny was a Maths teacher way back in the early 1900's.
When I hear things about my B Family I realise how lucky I have been.I dread to think what path I may have gone down if I hadn't been given up for adoption.

Jane sent me your photo and what a pretty girl she is and so sweet. I love the fact you are related to Catherine or Katherine. I have one big book on the royals it goes back a long way but what a funny lot they looked sort of short and weird you must have been a throw back Catie you are beautiful what was Catherine like my picture is not very
complimentary she looks dark haired and seems to have a nice face .
Drayton Manor Elizabeth you are joking I have been there loads of times my kids loved it gosh that is interesting history and I do admire you having a pony and trap .Annie and drove it to market for a lady she sat in the back we made a right mess up turning round stopped a farmer with his sheep who said we needed L plates. Then you have to
haul it on to the horse and comb the horse and muck out the stable do you do all that yourself.But the feeling you get trotting along is fantastic lucky you.Its a shame that creep robbed you.

Sheila.... please don't be upset. I think sometimes posts can be a bit confusing and Frank and all of us here wouldn't want to upset you. We have loved your stories and your interest in so many areas of life. When you are away on your travels - we miss you - and wonder how you are.

Well.... My OH is still on Leave, but has a couple of meetings to attend. This lunchtime he went along to a lecture on Obesity. He didn't sit through the whole lecture because he was just wanting to catch a few docs. However, he said there was a lot of coughing and spluttering amongst those GP's when the Lecturer told them about the advice they should be giving their patients. Apparently they should be advising them that the best exercise for their health is S#X. You can imagine what the response was lol I can imagine the response of some patients if they were told that too lol Hope I haven't offended anyone by mentioning it.

David... I think Ellen is such a lovely name. Sorry that she's in so much discomfort.

Jane... No, all my duties aren't complete.... Spend too much time chatting lol The girls are at the library with Andrew, picking up stories for bedtime.

Jane, The place we're going to see on Wednesday is at Hawsley, near Lydbrook Glos. It sounds really nice on paper and on the site, but you can never tell till you've seen somewhere! In any case we've got to get rid of this house, so not holding my breath!!! Yes, we do all the mucking out and looking after of Merlin Sheila, it is quite commitment, but he's a lovely boy and gives us a lot of pleasure, so it's worth it. Just been for a walk along the river bank, there was this odd looking person sitting under a large tree (bit chilly!) reading earnestly and looking up into the tree at the same time. When I came back, I said 'Good afternoon' and she gave me such a weird look, and went on with reading and gazing!!! I hurried home!!!!!

LOL Catie .I will tell Chris this is want he should tell his patients and then suggest maybe we could try it out too lolol
There were some very funny things that the vicar said .He is actually my old GP .He does fantastic work in the Hospice ,and has recently become a vicar.It seemed funny seeing him in this role ,when I thought about all the times I had been to see him for smear tests and having my son lol.I think half the ladies in the church this morning had been his patients .

I used to love going to the library as a child.I think it would have been on a saturday and I would choose mine,and Mum and Dad would get theirs.I don't remember my sister there ,but she must have been.Then when I was old enough they let me take the bus ,and I would go on my own.I used to love doing that 'cos I was grown up lol

Shelia, I am not going into chapter and verse. I was not the one who was annoyed with anyone. Look in the mirror, who did you upset on the other sites. Don't start blaming me for the way you talk to people, and their response to it. How is it in over two years I haven't upset anyone, (all those who use the sight will tell you that)The best thing you can do, is go and upset other people on other sites. They deserve you. Since my stroke, and the after effects of it, I come on here to relax, and chat with people who understand me,not get into petty missunderstandings, with people like you.

Just got back from shopping. Tired out and they have changed everything around in Mo**ison because of the new build they have been doing. Could'nt find anything. Nothing in there old places and it seemed to take me ages.

Hope everything went off all right at the funeral Jane.
