Back home now. Les Mis was wonderful as usual but it was slightly different to the others we have seen. A completely new production I would say. Thought Gareth Gates was excellent in the part and he has got a reallly good voice, he'll go far. The visual effects were extremely good, so well done the time simply flew past.

Hope all goes well tomorrow Daff.

Morning everyone... I am now back online, and my houseguests have gone... SueM and hubby stayed overnight, and as the room they were going to sleep in was only recently vacated by son, who has moved into another bedroom... well, put it this way... he is 37 and his room looked like an 18 year olds... it needed a lot of work to make it clean and cosy again.

My cats are treacherous, allegiance changing little creatures... Polgara fell in love with *im indoors and followed him around, even into the toilet, lolol Jethro did his usual and tried to stow away in the car this morning... and all of the cats, even my shy Hermie, came into the room, so Sue and hubby have been vetted and passed the *purrrrrr-fect houseguest* test with flying colours, lol

Ann, I am so pleased you enjoyed it... I told you Gareth was perfect in the part!! Until you actually see it, you can't imagine it, but he was brilliant, as were all of them... I am well converted! ;¬)) Did you enjoy the champagne and strawberries?

BC, that orange really is rather, erm, day glo... very effective. Gizmo will be instantly recognised.

Jude, it is lovely here... I'll be spending time sorting the garden later, it is in great need of some tlc and weeding!

Maz the Merlot was lovely, lol.... *polishes mucky table with hem of tee shirt* there, looks good as new now, lol

Thank you all for your good wishes for tomorrow.

I feel so good today, even after being such a busy bunny yesterday and Friday, that I am sure tomorrow will confirm that it was a virus of some sort, and not a relapse. But it does go to show that it does take me a bit to get over things I would have shrugged off in days gone by.

*dib dib dob, dob dib dib, I promise to do as I am told in future* ;¬))

Off to answer pm's and stuff, and then play in the garden for the afternoon....

See you later.

Love and (((((hugs)))))

Daff hope everything goes well tomorrow for you, enjoy playing in the garden we have been in our garden this morning OH put up an archway a couple of weeks ago and I have been trying to get the honeysuckle to go over it hopefully it will now, I spoke to it nicely lol.

Ann glad you enjoyed Les Mis. Gareth Gates has never appealed to me but perhaps musicals are his thing .

Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend.
bye for now

ginnie, GGates never appealed to me either but singing the part of Marius he was just right, his voice was lovely. It was fascinating to see a new production of Les Mis, there were several slight changes. The young boy had more to do in this production and more words. The young Cosette's part was slightly different and there was a second young girl in this production. The part where they sing Do you hear the people sing was staged differently and was very effective and the overall effects were extremely good and different. One part Iw as not so keen on, I am sure that Empty Chairs and Empty tables was sung in a cafe like scenario but it wasn't in this one and that seemed strange. But on the whole the new production was very refreshing and we really enjoyed it. I couldn't believe how quickly the evening went.

JustGinnie Report 8 Aug 2010 17:45

Yes in the one I saw there was a cafe scene when they were singing empty chairs.I really must get to see it again. The time does go very quickly when it is a good production.
I remember some years ago going to see a play with Lewis Collins in and being so bored that it seemed to go on for ever. It was set in the 20s and at the end it went back to the first scene and my daughter and I both thought oh no not again . Still it gives us some laughs now when we think back lol.
