Brenda, was your father by any chance born in Ireland? And did he die at a young age?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 3 Jun 2014 20:08

Received message from Brenda

"Hi Marie Celeste. I cant be sure that my father Wilfred David Stott was born in Ireland but i always had the impression that he was. He was born in 1912 and he died in Birkenhead in 1938.So he was very young.
Many thanks.
Brenda "
...........................................................................................................................

This is what I had found:

Ireland, Civil Registration Births Index, 1864-1958
Name: Wilfred David Stott
Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1911
Registration district: Belfast
Volume: 1
Page: 353
FHL Film Number: 101074

I'd found his marriage in 1933 and then the 1938 death that Brenda mentioned.

Brenda, do you know if your father had any older siblings? If so, we might be able to trace the family on the 1911 Irish census.

Also, you mention Samuel Stott's second wife - what can you tell us about her?

I would think that you really need a copy of your father's birth certificate to get his mother's name and maiden name.

I have no further details of Clara. I am more interested in my birth family. Thanks again Brenda

rootgatherer Report 3 Jun 2014 21:40

Yes, I understand that Brenda but your Grandfather's marriage certificate to Clara will give his father's name if known.

Your father's birth certificate will name his mother.

How do you know that your Great grandmother was Mary A Stott please?

I do think that you need to buy those certificates if you don't have them or any information found may be inaccurate.
