Right, When I was at Sixth Form I had a best friend who was a male, let's called him M. Well M and I were extremely close, we had so many in-jokes, so many funny times... I always secretly fancied him and he even said to me once 'You have the personality of my perfect woman!' I then became involved with a guy and drifted apart from M... people kept claiming that he fancied me but I rubbished it. I was 'happy' or so I thought, with my new man... Then one evening M got drunk and told me he loved me... I refused to believe him, blamed it on the drink. The next day he told me again (he was sober by then!). We never spoke again. This is my biggest regret in life. He was perfect, I've never been happier than when I was with him. I have tried to contact him through a mutal friend but he has never got back to me. I now have his address... do I write to him? If so what do I say?

I would say contact himBec, but keep it fairly light - hearted. You might scare the poor guy of if you blurt it all out in one go when he least expects it.If he responds then spill the beans about your true feelings. Just my wee thought. Good luck, Joan.

bec you simply have to call this bloke. if you dont you'll always regret it and even if he blows you out and hurts you at least you can get over him and move on. xx

You have no idea what is going on inside my head now! This is the first time I've allowed myself to properly think about him... I can remember everything... feel a bit choked up... wow... What if he doesn't reply? x

then you get over it and move on. i dont mean that to sound harsh but at least you will know the score. what you dont want is to get 20 years down the line and have massive regrets. xx
