Good morning all . . . A lovely brisk sunny day on the Bay, A tanker is just making its way to moorings over at Kernell and there are 6 giraffes standing around with their heads in the sky at Port Botany. We have had our excitement for the day - pmsl . . . The poor lovely Ray forgot to move his car last night - left it out on the Grand Parade, he had planned to be going to the airport last night to pick someone up, but they called to say they would get a cab. Goes out to get in car at 7am only to find no car - clearway started at 6am - been towed away !!!! All in a dither so he was, Ah well thats taken care of his pocket money for the month !!! Good thing I didn't show him results of my shopping trip yesterday . . I am so lucky, the cousin I have recently linked up to here on GR is sharing some of the best stuff going - she has all the letters written between my gran and her two sons that were killed in action in WWII, plus lots of photos of them that they sent home, and all sorts of stuff on their service that I never dreamt you could get your hands on. She even has correspondence between Gran and the only survivor of the Lancaster that went down over Harburg killing my Uncle Geoff, who was a Navigator. I have always felt a bit sad about the small amout of info I had on Uncles Geoff & Victor compared to everyone else . . have heaps to fill in now. All of a sudden they are real people not just names and dates. How many sleeps Von ????? Morning early posters - Flutterby, Lew, Joodles, Von, Mags, Pam & Mary, Tell me Lew, what sort of looks do you get in the office when you start chuckling at Wattler antics ??? How much do you actually tell the others in the office ??? Have they got Mental Health on speed dial ??? Thank you for that wonderful lesson on etiquette - I shall inspect the handle of said umbrella and make my decision before I visit - if you see me clinging for dear life you will know that I dont trust the servants and will in no way be a reflection on you. Mary, fingers still crossed for you - what is the agents take on the couple who visited for 2nd time ?? Do they think it is a goer ??? Going to spend a few hours entering info so will be around and look in again later cheers luv Laurie

Morning all Just poked my head out into the big wide world of the general board for a stickybeak - it's still on for young and old!! Why do they bother to post on threads which are obviously intended to stir the pudding! Lew - bit early in the morning for 'etiket' - speak to me at a refined hour - e.g. 2.00pm! Much bathing in milk, gentle stretching and English tea to be partaken of before I am ready for lessons on how to brush up my ladylike skills. Poor Ray - I can only imagine the look on his face when he went outside and no car! All the more reason to move back to the peaceful Queensland countryside. Vonny - what thread are you talking about? I'm just surprised the whole lot haven't disappeared in a puff of poisonous smoke! They are even speaking in tongues on the 7 word story!! Washing to be hung out See ya later Anna

* has visions of ladies with upswept hair and large hats covered in flowers, tight waist, bustle, long sleeve dress, gloves, dainty parasol, pointed boots with a little heel* visiting Lew Lew* .. I must say, it doesnt exactly sound like us Wattlers, does it? Poor Ray .. I bet a few choice words left his lips this morning ! You are very lucky Laurie to get all that information. .. Does this mean a larger filing cabinet is required? Jood is off to podiatrist to get her feet pampered, and then taking on her first baby-sitting job for Lucas, whose Mum & Dad are doing a Law exam today. (And another on Tuesday next). .. He is 9 weeks old now. .. The other day when I was giving him a bottle, I thought he was looking at this strange face, but no, it was my striped tee shirt that had caught his eye .. pmsl Jood

Vonny, thread is back. Anna - its just a 'change a letter in a 5 letter word' thing that we contribute to - I think Suzy does it too, similar to the 4 letter word. .. Just to keep our brains active! Frosty boy does the 4 letter, and Christine Clissold does the 5 letter one. Jood

Good Morning Australia, Laurie, loved the giraffe, it was a very welcome good morning, thank you. Sorry about Rays car, I hope he didn't start another riot. It must be great to get all that info on your rellies. Maybe it pays to be a hoarder. My lot only kept things they thought they might get good money for. And they are long gone. LOL Now Witchy Crew, if you promise not to put more spells on me, and keep away from the eye of newt and wing of bat, I will send the shoes back. But not the one's I sent to Anna and Trifley. You will have to ask them nicely. Oh and there is one pair I rather like. I think our Nicole may of worn them once, with the diamond straps. Hope thats okay. A small price to pay for getting the other 197 pairs back. btw Laurie wasn't interested in shiny red limo 6' heels. She already has some LOL Anna, when will you be in Tamborine? We can meet for a coffee, if you just shout I will hear you, just down the valley. Mary, I hope today is the day. Have you got your pen at the ready to sign. Maybe I will sell if it is a way to lose weight. Hi WA, nice to meet you all. Jill, you are in Ipswich aren't you? Hope to hear from you sister, she may be able to keep Witchy crew in line. Rebs, what are you doing out of bed, gotta get well for the wedding. Has Tony and Barb left the country. If not have a great time. Sorry if I have forgotten any one Bye for now SuzyQ

Miss Crewella I have sipped my tea and partaken of my gentle stretching exercises and I am ready to have a verbal stoush with you re the aforementioned etiquette. I am from an old family with old money and our code of behaviour dates back to George Washington's 'Rules of Civility and Decent Behaviour in Company and Conversation.' 1. Every action done in Company ought to be with some sign of Respect to those that are present. 2. When in Company, put not your hands to any part of the body not usually discovered. 3. Shew nothing to your Friend that may affright him. 4. In the presence of others, sing not to yourself with a humming noise nor drum with your fingers or feet. 5. If you cough, sneeze, sigh or yawn, do it not loudly but privately; and speak not in your yawning, but put your handkerchief or hand before your face and turn aside. 6. Sleep not when others speak, sit not when others stand, speak not when you should hold your peace, walk not when others stop. 7. Put not off your clothes in the presence of others, nor go out of your chambers half dressed. 8. Spit not in the fire, nor stoop low before it, neither put your hands into the flames to warm them, nor set your feet upon the fire especially if there be meat before it. 9. When you sit down, keep your feet firm and even without putting one on the other or crossing them. 10. Shift not yourself in the sight of others nor gnaw your nails. 11. Shake not the head, feet or legs, roll not the eyes, lift one eyebrow higher than the other, wry not the mouth, and bedew no man's face with your spittle by approaching too near him when you speak. MIss Come Lately Daly Watkins clone - these are fine statements of how we sould conduct ourselves. I suggest you commit them to memory. These are but the first eleven Rules of Civility from a code of 110. When I think you are ready to embrace another set of the rules, I will be so gracious as to pass them on for your edification.
