Daff was one of the loveliest people I've met...not just from GR but in life. She helped me through many a bad time and I've missed her loads...for selfish reasons I guess because she was so kind to me..but also because I found her such good company. In fact just lately it's been her I have really needed ...didn't realise it was a year since we lost her...but I miss her as much now as I did a year ago.

Her sunstroke is legendary...she was soooooo funny when she was under the influence..........of the SUN obviously *coughs*...I think of Daff often ...mostly with a smile and with love.

Mr Daff just continues to be just as wonderful..his concern for my daughter during her illness was beyond touching. He's shown once again what a fantastic couple they made in my eyes...so well suited. He;'s also in my thoughts. <3

I shall be remembering Daff as such a warm and caring person, but so funny too. I do wish I could have met her. Despite her illness, she put such an effort into the collection for Ash at that terrible time for his family.

It is odd how things happen. Some friends called in for coffee yesterday morning and they mentioned having to dash into the town to pay in some cheques at the bank. We discussed how infrequently we use cheques these days, but they are useful at odd times. I got out my cheque book, to see how long it had been since I wrote one. The last was the donation to the Hospice - so almost a year.

My thoughts will be with Mr Daff and Daff's wonderful family.

There are not many people who can make me laugh so much for hours on end.....Daff was one of those people. we spoke often and for hours but never ran out of things to say or laugh about.

If Daff could read what you have all said about her I just know she would not believe or understand why she was so loved....She couldn't see what we could see......She loved this site and all on it.....even those she fell out with occasionally........It wos the meds wot made me do it....she would say..

There will never be another as far as I am concerned.....she was my best friend along side Sue...

Susan who is now sniffing uncontrollably cos I miss her so much :-(

Stop sniffling Susan, it ain't becoming and I don't want a damp thread...lol

Oh, the phone calls. I thought I held the record with you at 3 hrs and 40 mins but Daff and you managed 4hrs and 20 mins.

Now, as I had to tell Daff to belt up so I could get a word in and I do the same to you, the pair of you yakking away AT THE SAME TIME must have been interesting..lolol

Talking with Daff when she had one of the little ones there was a nightmare, she would break off to bite their bum frequently....lololol or tickle them until they were in fits of giggles which was infectious so all we did (the 3 of us) was giggle. At that point any adult conversation went out of the window :-D

Those at the Greek restaurant will remember the contest as to who could hike their bosoms the highest :-D I won't reveal the winner but it wasn't me :-( My hubby was amazed at Daff during the contest...lmao Game for a challenge she was!

Oh yes, talking of the sunburn at Peterborough, which I didn't witness because I wasn't there. But proof of Daff's rather fondness for the red liquid.

Well, at swansea, she and R had a bottle and T and I had a bottle. Not content with drinking hers, she pinched and drank most of, my glass!!! Hilarious and she was not a bit contrite!!! :-D

Remembering our Daff with with fondness and loads of love.

One of the meets we went to was at Symonds Yat (Gloucester) on News Year Eve, just like that, we were discussing a meet and she said hows about now!! Typical Daff..... :-) :-)

The meet at Newport was great, she bought nearly everything at the auction:)

Missed for her love, caring, fun, understanding, you name all the nice things and she was it!!

I wasn't as fortunate as those who knew Daff as close friends and had been in her company , but I have' spoken' to her on and off the boards and what a wonderful lady.
So many peeps who haven't met Daff have spoken so highly of her, it speaks volumes . She had that something special ,whether face to face or mail contact that made her ' our Daff ' loved by so many.

Remembering you today Daff and thinking of Mr Daff and family who must treasure and be proud to have so many wonderful memories (countless I guess) that out-shadow the sad <3

Actually Sue....6 hours was the record with Daff. :-D we also researched lots of Genealogy in between ad libbing about anything that came to mind. she was an intelligent lady as well as one of the wittiest people I have known.

No matter how ill she was she thought about those in distress and tried to help.

Cheers to my friend Daffy and thinking of Mr Daff on this day.

I agree with those sentiments Susan (Not that I ever spent 6 hours on the phone with Daff, all day here though and of course she never stopped talking and we laughed all day. However, what I was going to say. With friends and relations no matter how poorly she was, Daff always put them before herself. there are not many people of whom you can say that.

supercrutch Report 19 Nov 2012 19:10

Ann, you'd have problems being on the phone for 6 hours...your batteries would be flat :-P

The framed photo of Simon Cowell is still in it's place in the sitting room..lolol

We had a thread up about Daff escaping from hospital dragging her drip trolley along the M4 in hot pursuit of Simon (I think)

:-D

When I spoke to Mr. Daff yesterday I told him this was going up :-D I mentioned the part about Daff groping my OH and he said "funny, how he never complained" ;-) ;-) He thought his luck had changed :-D

What a caring lady she was. I'd hardly 'talked' to her at the time so was touched to receive a pm when I was having that aged parents worry that so many have.
She was always so friendly :-D

I'd hoped to meet her but our holiday in Wales was postponed at the last minute so didn't coincide with the meet.

Raising a cup of char to Daff :-D

:-D :-D Sue, yep the batteries wouldn't outlast Daff. She was though, always so thoughtful about my hearing problems.
