Morning Anng and all,

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL THE MUMS OUT THERE AND ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO NEVER HEAR FROM THEIR CHILDREN.

I too dreamt a lot but can't remember anything about them this morning. Got up three times for the loo last night perhaps thats why I dreamt so much.

Suns out at the mo and not much in the way of wind and oh has just gone out gloved up and hatted. He is either going to paint my shed or mow but I am hoping he's going to paint my shed.

Must be a time for dreaming, i was dreaming that i had driven into a picket fence not once but twice :-D very strange .

Mel what a dear little girl having a play on the guitar you could see her face light up .when she touches the guitar.

Afternoon All,

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY to mothers!

That was some nice gifts you had Mandy and the bowl will be very useful too. I wonder what that dream meant?

I didn't get off to sleep very early. OH was having problems with not being able to take his reflux tablets, so at last he was listening and propped himself more upright and was much better. I've suggested he doesn't eat after teatime. At least it's only for a week.

We are all sorted ready for the food drop later. I think it is a smaller one this time with less to wipe which will be good, but 6 subs this time. I ordered Rocket seeds to plant as I've grown it before and they are sending cress seeds instead!!!

That was interesting AnnG and I didn't know some of those signals, hopefully staff in places like pubs all do. I was only thinking the other week about getting a personal alarm again, one where you pull a pin out. Some local carparks are not well lit, especially the village one where night classes are held. I always had one for work with some of the grim areas I had to go. Even walking to your car where it was parked on waste ground in winter after work wasn't nice. I still check there is no-one hiding on the back seat before I get in!

Better do a bit of paperwork now till the food comes. OH is watching footie in one of the bedrooms where we keep our overspill of surplus food shopping and loo rolls etc. I noticed he had put some of his books on top for now as he's running out of space, so I asked him if he was planning to eat his words. :-D

Afternoon all

A bright and breezy day here but it's still quite chilly out.

You had nice presents for Mothers' Day Mandy. When the children were little we always got handmade cards and at church they were given little posies to present to me but we have never made much of it since they got past the childhood stage. However my daughter did text me this morning to wish me a nice day and say that she will be doing me a proper afternoon tea as soon as lockdown finishes. I'm a little bit against the commercialism of Mother's Day which is an American invention anyway. Here it was always Mothering Sunday when domestic staff got time off to return to their Mother Church and see their families. I think calling it Mothers' Day must make it very hard for people who can't have children, who have lost children or are estranged from them. Lecture over :-)

I wonder why the little Westie came home alone Ann and why the wife took her out the next day. At least she did come safely home. You're really getting to grips with all the technology. I'm so lazy with things like that. It's easier to just get OH to set things up than learn how to do it myself. That's a bit pathetic really isn't it? I would have to cope if he wasn't around. I think I rely on him too much.

Today he drove me to our "local" hospital (20 miles away) for my Covid swab test. There was no reason why I couldn't drive myself but he offered so I accepted. We were told to park at the designated place and not to get out of the car. Car parking is a nightmare there anyway so I couldn't imagine where they were going to put us. In fact there was a little area up the side of A&E with just 4 parking spots marked out but they had arranged the appointments so well that as one car drove out another drove in. Two minutes and I was done so now we both have to self isolate till I go for the procedure on Wednesday. They said I will only hear if there is a positive result and they would notify me of that by Tuesday.

Did you get your shed painted Mel? I am sure you said what colour it was going to be but I have forgotten.

I hope you are having a day off from all the phoning and organising Gill. Just relax today and start again tomorrow. Good luck with finding a builder. Have you asked your new neighbours if any of them have had building work done? They might be able to recommend someone to you.

We usually have our dinner around 2 pm on Sundays but having to go to the hospital this morning I got all behind so we had a sandwich at 1 and are having our main meal later. I'd better go and prepare the veg. I intend to have a feast today as tomorrow I'll be having 3 very small, bland meals and Tuesday I won't be getting anything so I am making the most of today. Lamb shanks in red wine gravy (a ready meal I might tart up a bit), roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, broccoli and green beans plus a pud. but I haven't decided on that yet.

I hope you all sleep well tonight and I look forward to hearing all your strange dreams tomorrow.

No the shed is'nt painted yet. Oh did all the top boards and half of the back that faces the orchard. Came in as he was cold and we had lunch and after it started to spot with rain so he could'nt do anymore.

The colour is Garden Shades Wild Thyme and the windows are in Country Cream.

He has taken all the door fittings off so I can shut the shed up only the bottom half of the door.

Lovely gifts from your son Mandy. The wool bowl wil be good as I have seen those. I use a small dumper bucket to put my wool in when doing pom poms that works well.

I must get up and post these zips to you next week. Shall have to keep my eye on the time as the mobile PO is'nt there that long and not every day either.

Happy Mother's Day to you all, I hope you had a nice day. I got some lovely presents off Sandra and a card. I haven't had anything off Michelle for years, so I wasn't surprised I didn't get anything again this year.

I rang my mum and she told me Michelle has Coronavirus, apparently she caught it off the woman who was training her in her new job. Luckily Michelle can work from home but told Sandra she feels awful. She has a sore throat and is very cold, not to mention tired all the time. With her not talking properly to me for years and the fact that Sandra has told her I know she has the virus, I'm now wondering whether to call her to see if she's okay. She probably wouldn't answer her phone but if I don't try she'll tell everyone I don't care, which isn't the case. It's so difficult to know what to do for the best in these situations isn't it?

Sandra bought me some lovely flowers, some chocolates and a note book. She said she knows I use notebooks for my family tree so that was a thoughtful gift. I needed one as I'd just ran out, so it was a lovely surprise. The card made me cry it was so sweet. She wanted to meet up with me today but I had to say no as she's still mixing with lots of other people and I thought it might be a bit risky with me not having my vaccination yet. My mum wanted to see me too, but thankfully both of them understood. We'll all be able to meet up soon enough and when we've all had our vaccinations it'll make it safer for us all then.

I see you got some lovely gifts to Mandy. The wooden bowl sounds ideal. I've never heard of a wooden wool bowl before.

I didn't know Murray Walker had died Mel until mum told me last night when we spoke on the phone. 97 was a good age wasn't it? OH said they have started advertising the F1 starting date, it's on 28th of this month, so I'm looking forward to that. I've got a feeling Lewis Hamilton might make this his last years, i think he's only signed a one year contract, so if that's the case then I wonder if he's hoping to get his eighth world championship to beat Michael Schumacher's 7 world championships. Lewis likes beating records doesn't he?

Going to watch Dancing on Ice on catch up now as I've only just finished watching last weeks.

Gill go with your gut feeling. Even if Michelle refuses to talk to you just ask how she is and you hope she soon feels better. Then she won’t be able to say you don’t care.

I have just watched DoI but I won’t give anything away. What I will say though is How on earth to Jayne Torville and Christopher Dean manage to skate like they do they are in their sixties.

Vera hope you enjoyed your big meal tonight hope all goes well the next three days for you.
Ann I see you have learnt to beat your OH with his own style of humour. :-D

Gillx Report 15 Mar 2021 01:39

Yes, I think I will just text Michelle AnnG rather than ring her and say I hope she feels better soon. I'm worried about her and want to know she's okay. I'm not sure she'll answer the text though, but I'll still try.

I'm so tired but OH is growling like a bear with a sore head, I can't for the life of me work out why he's so noisy in his sleep but it's put paid to me having any sleep and I haven't even got a spare bedroom I can go to instead as it's still full of packing boxes.

I think I might watch the final of Dancing on Ice as I've still got that to watch. OH wanted to watch Gogglebox on catch up before which I've already seen, so I ended up watching it again.

He's gone quiet now, I hope it lasts so I can get my head down for a few hours. At least he's not moving around now, it was like laying on a trampoline before lol.

Hope you finally managed to get to sleep gill. Sounds as if he was having a bad dream, did you try nudging him? Have you sent a text to Michelle?

Slept ok last night woke twice and finall got up at 0730. sunny and bright outside and 7 degrees so maybe a pleasant day today. I think the wind has dropped at the moment but lately it has returned late morning.

Not got any plans for today so nothing new there.

Thinking of Vera and her eating regime <3

Going to have a shower and wash this mop of hair now.

Morning Anng and all,

Anng I would say we just about get the same weather as each other. We have a nice bright sunny morning at the mo but the wind may come up later and it turn grey. We shall have to see how it goes.

I have a pile of ironing to do which I keep putting off or doing a bit and then get bored sop I think thats on for today and get it out of the way before the next lot arrives in the uti room.

Slept well and had another strange dream about getting some sheep in a field but I had been watching Adam and Ellie lambing on Countryfile so I expect it was to do with that. O and the sheep were bright pink!!

Annx Report 15 Mar 2021 11:25

Morning All,

Bright and no wind here! I had a restless night and woke at 5.30am and couldn't get back to sleep.

OH is in a meeting but it's gone wrong as the speaker can't 'unmute' himself so no-one can hear him! :-D It might be he hasn't turned his sound up.

It is tricky as you say Gill, but AnnG's idea sounds good. You can keep it short and they can't accuse you of not caring later. The art teacher told us she wears earplugs because of her husband snoring so you could get some of those to try. It came up because all the family heard the wind cause a crash in the night and she slept through it.

Yes AnnG, he had to chuckle when I said it and he's as sharp as a box of knives himself with retorts so it was good to beat him with one of my own! lol. I've just looked at my hair with a bit of despair too! It's got nearly another month to go before it sees scissors! I might see if I have some grips or a headband for this afternoon's class.

That was a strange dream Mel. I wonder why the sheep were pink! It's funny what your mind puts together in your sleep isn't it.

Hope you enjoyed your meal Vera. It sounded a bit like a prisoner's last request!

I need to sketch something for Wednesday now and get things set out for this afternoon.

Gillx Report 15 Mar 2021 11:29

I think the reason OH didn't sleep well is because he ate to late before going to bed, he settled not long after I posted last night so I left watching Dancing on Ice and went to sleep as it was the early hours of the morning by then. I was woken up this morning with a call off Sandra's estate agent wanting to know if she'd got her paperwork yet, the solicitor said she was sending it last Friday but so far it hasn't arrived. Hopefully it'll arrive today or tomorrow.

The agent also told me nothing has been left in the flat after the vendor told Sandra she was leaving everything, so I have to let Sandra know the flat is empty now. I'm not looking forward to that conversation. I'm hoping the social let her stay where she is until she can buy at least the basics like a cooker, sofa and bed or she'll be moving into an empty place. There isn't any curtains either.

I text Michelle and she text me back, she's still working from home so I said to rest up as much as she can, she hasn't replied again yet, but at least she replied to the first text which I was surprised to see.

OH has gone back to sorting his garage so he can put the wood in there out of the rain or it won't be worth using and will have to be thrown away. He's still got some more pampas roots to take out but I'm not sure if he'll have time to do that today.

I'm going to have another look for a builder's number, I hope I can find a builder who can come and do the brickwork, then we can have the front and back doors replaced.

My washing machine has just finished so I'd better go and sort that out first.

My hair is so thick, it grows out rather than down So it becomes bushy.
Hope OH's meeting eventually goes ahead Ann.

Gill, that was good then you text Michelle and she replied so you have shown you care about her and she has acknowledged that. Glad you eventually got to sleep.

I have been down the road twice this morning so that is two blazers and a fleece some trousers and two bags of shoes.

Struck lucky with the surplus hangers, Grandson and his fiance are short of hangers so a bag full is going to be ferried to them when daughter next visits

I turned out T's wardrobe that I had emptied and right at the back found my large, strong camera tripod that T and I spent weeks hunting a couple of years ago, what it was doing in his wardrobe I will never know. That wardrobe is now full of gillets and ccoats, fleeces etc. Some of which are actually T's that fit me so I have kept them.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 Mar 2021 12:55

Its good Michelle texted you back Gill. That was nice . Good luck with a builder. Can't the estate agent get in touch and find out why the vendor did'nt leave what she said she would? Surely Sandra was buying it because it had all the furniture and things in it???

When I moved into the cottage in Suffolk they said they were leaving things but they even took the light bulbs out and the loo roll holder and we moved in on 7thFebruary and it had snowed.
