Good afternoon. We were up late this morning so had brunch of bacon sandwiches (toasted) Which were tasty. since then OH has been in the garden staking the gladioli which are between the wild flowers and the raspberry canes not an easy job. and he found a hanging basket that was buried behind one of the Buddleia so he has fished that out to see if it recovers. I have been prepping the veg for dinner this evening.
Jane enjoy your babrbecue with H & G. I hope they enjoyed their holiday.
Island, when I forget to check in and answer posts it gets a bit over whelming so I just make a few comments. I do try and keep up and I have occasionally resorted to using my IPad as a reference while typing on the main PC.
Vera OH buys my Epson inks from somewhere on line, they are not cheap bu I prefer to have them rather than the comparative inks as I print photos for my cards. What a shame that the quiz seems to have stopped. I suppose it did well to go on for so long but it would have been nice if the ones who dropped out had said before you had gone to all the trouble of compiling this week's quiz
Annx I don't know what I would do about the squash seeds, difficult decision and a real nuisance. We actually do have Amazon Prime and it was very useful last Christmas as most of the gifts we buy for son and family come from their Amazon wish list, not having to pay postage over the year has more than covered what we paid out for AP. OH is always buying electrical bit and CCTV bits.
Mel, the tomatoes have a really good flavour, I think they are a different variety to usual, a new one, and if OH had not disposed of the seed packet we would know what they are. :-D

Well! It's lovely and sunny now but there's a chilly breeze. We have our very own wind tunnel which whips up our entry, throught the garden and out the other end. I have suggested a very tall back gate - about 12 foot - but it wasn't met with enthusiasm LOL
Jane, I'm pleased you're feeling better and up to going out - enjoy!
Ann, I'm afraid I'm like your OH - I threw the empty seed packets out this year. I got fed up of finding bundles of old packets in the potting shed. Ruthless tidying initiative going on, once I kick the procrastination habit LOL Our toms are all cherry ones but different varieties. I grew some yellow tumbling toms three years ago, they were beautiful. I haven't managed the same since :-(
I've raised some bell pepper plants from fresh seeds this year - after seeing it suggested on another thread here. I've got the plants in three different locations, the ones on the sunny front room window sill are doing best and have flowers. I also sowed seeds from fresh little peppers - I don't know the variety - they have also produced seedlings. I'm not expecting to get peppers from them but now I know the seeds are viable I'll sow some next year but much earlier. I think I'll try fresh tomato seeds too. Might end up with my own variety LOL
Mel, we have a scruffy JRT - we think he's half monkey. :-D We adopted him six years ago - oh boy did he land on his paws coming to us! :-0

Afternoon all,
Here i am :-D we've had a busy few days really ,friday the family came and we had a nice F&C lunch boy they went down a treat ,we haven't had F&C since the lock down ,all the children tucked in too ,we sat out in the garden and had them from the paper although we did use forks :-D they all came mid morning ans went home late afternoon . DIL was telling us all about when they go back to school ,they will have staggered days when they go back some go on the 8th sept ,some on the 9th and staggered times to go in too . The children will stay in the same classroom bubble no moving to other rooms or mixing together ,they will have their lunch in the class room so all of them will have to have a packed lunch . I'm not sure about the playtimes i suppose they will all have a different time to go out again so they don't mix together . Yesterday we took the flower planter that Colin made and planted that up for them ,i had bought them a patio sunflower ,a lavender and a pink to go in the planter so they were pleased with it . Now as there's still some wood left Colin is going to make them a couple of square planters to go each side of their front door . I forgot to take a photo of it before we took it but if i think of it ill get one net time we go I have taken a few photo's of the toms, cues which are growing like crazy and the runners and peas i've picked this morning oh and the other crochet bag i've made for Katie . Sorry i'll have to send them one at a time again ,i wish i knew how to clump them together to send .
Mel sounds as if your joints need a day of rest from the gardening although if you've had a bit of rain the weeds might dig out better .
Lovely photo's of the two Ann's with their hair all chopped and nice and tidy ,mines about the same length as yours too. Ann your pot looks nice with all the plants a good lot of colour in it ,my planters were fine until it rained last night now this morning they look a bit sorry for themselves but i'm sure they will soon recover now the suns out .
AnnG you had some nice pickings too the blackberries look good .
Jane lovely to see you posting :-D hope the weather stays fine i think it should hope you all enjoy the BBQ as you say it will make a nice change for you to go out to theirs .
Frank i do hope your feeling better today lets hope this doctor can get you sorted out so you feel more your old self again. Fancy Tony doing some gardening ,i bet you couldn't believe your eyes :-D That's probably it now though for the next twenty odd years :-D
Vera thats a shame about the quiz finishing as i think you all use to enjoy doing it but i suppose everyone is now trying to get back to normal and going out and about a bit more .
Gill hope OH enjoyed his birthday belated wishes ,did you make him a cake ?
Island i planted some seeds from a red bell pepper i had, three came up but the plants are not very big and have just stopped growing but i did read you might not get any peppers on the plant so we'll just wait and see they might put a spurt on and start growing . You'll have to tell me what your JRT is ,i can't work that one out , oh is it Jack Russell ?,we have a nutty black Lab called Max ,if he can get some thing in his mouth he's happy but i'm not when its a toilet roll he grabs and tears it to bits ,it's like snow all over the rug .
Right i'll send the photos them i'm off out in the sun .

Afternoon All,
Sunny patches here and quite warm if a bit windy. It will be nice for your barbecue with H&G Jane.
I went out and between us we planted a few plants in the top island bed. The Salvias were a bit far gone and needed cutting back to encourage new flowering shoots really but they are adding a bit of colour for now. OH did more weeding this morning and has laid an extra slab we had and put it in front of one of the water butts. We had a quick shower after, then lunch in the garden. Now he is washing up the few bits and then we will be ready for a big wipe down after the delivery later!:-( The lady who does the wool felting on Sundays on FB is doing Nordic Gnomes. I'm not sure if I like them or not, but they are nice at Christmas, so I shall watch anyway as she has some useful woolfelting tips to share that are good to know.
I can understand you using Amazon Prime AnnG. I mostly only buy a few books from them and buy everything else on Ebay as I get money back through a cashback site on those purchases.

Mandy nice loy of produce there, peas and beans look good and the cucumbers are doing well. all our ripe tomatoes are from baskets hanging outside, the inside ones are like yours still green. Pretty little bag. Where do you store your photos? On a competer? Lap top or desk top? Or are they on an Ipad or phone. I can send mine all together on my desk top but have to send individually if on my Ipad.
Annx I have never bought anything from Ebay, OH has and has been caught out a few times too. I don't trust Ebay for some reason.
we have just walked round to the free book stall, took three for her and brought two home.

Not a very nice day here. It rained a lot in the night and early this morning. The rest of the day has been dull and dreary with a nip in the wind.
Your veggies are looking good Mandy. I love the peas with the purple pods. The bag is very pretty too
I hope the weather’s better where you are Jane and you are enjoying your bbq with Hannah and Gareth.
I don’t know yet whether our quiz will go ahead next Sunday or not. It’s been going weekly for quite a while now and these things do have a natural life. A couple of the family are in hospitality and now venues are re-opening they sometimes have to work on Sundays. Step grandson works at a gym which will soon be reopening as well. The granddaughter who has just got her degree is doing a bit of work with a Theatre in Education group and their director wanted an online meeting with his cast at the time we have the quiz. As this is all paid work it must come first. Then yesterday my son rang to say they had received a last minute invitation to lunch at his fil’s. As his wife’s father lives some distance away and she hasn’t seen him for months they felt they should go.
I’ve had a really lazy day today. I’ve cooked a full Sunday roast and a pud, which we had at 2 pm, but I haven’t done much else. OH got energetic this morning and cleaned all the bathrooms and toilets so that’s another job done. What’s depressing is thinking that in a few days it’ll all need doing again.
I’m sitting in the conservatory half asleep so I think I’d better get a jacket and go for a walk to see if I can wake myself up a bit. Enjoy the rest of your day

Afternoon all
Bright and sunny here, OH is cutting the lawns incase there's more rain on the way. Everyone seems to have the same idea, it's been not stop lawn cutting all day as each neighbour does their's, so OH decided it should do his, just to keep up with "THE JONE'S" lol.
Love all the pics you've all sent. Our toms are still like peas and we have more flowers than toms, so I don't think we're going to have much this year, not unless a growth spurt happens soon.
Pleased to see you're feeling a little better now Jane. How nice for Hannah and Gareth to get away together, hope the weather stayed nice for your BBQ with them.
How lovely to have your photo's put in the paper Ann and a full page all to yourself to. I hope your side is feeling a bit better today.
I see the doctor is going to do a blood test for you Frank, I hope it's nothing serious and you're soon feeling okay again. Did you mark it on the calendar seeing Tony doing something for a change. I wonder how long it'll be until you see him in the garden again.
We cleaned our bird stand the other day to Vera, the water had gone brown, it's all nice and clean for the birds now. That's a shame about your quiz's but I suppose they had to end eventually and now we're no longer in lockdown people will be busy with jobs and other things now. I've been busy doing some sorting which has taken a bit longer than I thought it would.
You're doing well with all your produce AnnG, like I said, our toms are more like peas and don't seem to be growing any bigger and the flowers, (we have lots) don't seem to be turning into toms, even though I gave them a tickle as Mel sugested. I still don't know what type of toms they are as mum didn't know when she gave them to me, so it's a guessing game at the moment. Maybe with them being so small they're cherry toms, I guess time will tell.
It sounds like they're doing all the right things in the school's Mandy ready for September, at least the parents will have peace of mind knowing their children are being looked after properly. I did notice on the news though that some parents aren't letting their children go back to school until the virus has completely gone, they'd rather take the fine instead. I can understand their worries, but it's going to be quite harmful to their children's education in the long run and no one knows how long the virus is going to be around for. It's such a difficult time for parents, having to make the decision on what's best to do. Colin seems to be enjoying making things, he'll be lost when he's ran out of wood.
Thanks for OH's birthday wishes. No I didn't make a cake in the end, he's still got a sore mouth and didn't fancy one this year. OH's back at the dentist on Tuesday so hopefully he will feel better then. He's had a couple of teeth out over the past few weeks and keeps getting abscess's that have to be drained and two of his caps have fell out now, so the dentist is going to be busy sorting him out. At this rate he'll have no teeth left to eat cake lol.

AnnG I take the photos on my tablet then email them to myself so they go onto the laptop as I find it easier to email them on from the laptop.
Has any one noticed the little padlock is opened up at the top of the page ? I asked son I about it and he said it means their certificate has run out , is it as secure now then ?

When your photos are in your emails do they then get stored on your computer (I assume that is where the email is?

Mandy is your tablet an Ipad? I have just experimented, if you look at your photos in your photo stream and click on the first one to email you then go to where you tell it to email and there is a tick on the photo, if you move to the next photo you can tick that too (that is what I have just done) you can email all the photos you tick at once.

Mandy, my little padlock is locked, not open. (AnnG, it is right at the top where it says genesreunited.co.uk.)
I am not sure how you send photos on a different make of tablet but if you have an iPad it is easy to send several pictures at once. Go into camera roll or photo stream or wherever you know the photos are. At the top right it will say Select. Tap on as many as you like and a little tick will appear in the corner of each. Top left of the page is the little icon like a square box with an arrow pointing upwards, tap on that and then on email. A new email will come up with all the selected photos on it. I hope I’m not teaching my grandmother to suck eggs :-). You probably know all this already.
EDIT. I see you have a Samsung Galaxy. Can’t help you with that I’m afraid.

Happy Birthday to your OH Gill. It sounds like he's had a miserable time with his teeth though. Is it his usual dentist he's been seeing? I must admit I didn't think any were open yet. I need to get this suspected abscess I have looked at, but I have an appointment in September if it doesn't get cancelled. I must admit I'm slowly losing the plot now with the coronavirus rules and different areas with lockdown actionand now each council deciding on what action to take if necessary. Maybe your toms need more water Gill? I've been watering mine twice a day and they are coming on in leaps and bounds now.
Mandy that is a super little bag you made. Your veggies are all looking good too and what whoppers your cues are! The toms and the veg troughs look really good as well and the netting is a great idea to stop those pesky caterpillars having your cabbages. I can't believe you have peas and beans looking so good and that are ready as well. Your peas are the same colour as my french beans.
I must have made a blunder with my Asda order as they sent a huge tub of Flora spread. It will last us till Christmas I think! lol We got diced lamb instead of lamb shanks but the rest was fine and no short dates this time.
